Another way/Changing paths

Chapter 2: Coming our way...

At that time the both of us faced our opponent, to see that he was now coming to his feet. I started looking around me again to see if there was anyone standing in the hall, but there wasn't. I wonder if something happened to make them leave like that.

"Hey Brian, father called earlier..." Brandon said as he came into his own fighting stance.

"Oh shit really? Did he hear the party that was going on?" I asked him in a concerned tone.

"Nah I made sure to muffle the noise so he couldn't hear. Though he told me..."

"You little slimy shits are going to pay for that!" That larger man yelled at us as he held the back of his head, and then he shot out at us like a bat out of hell.

I immediately took my fighting stance and looked towards Brandon. He nodded to me as I nodded to him back.

At that time we both started running towards him as well, except Brandon jumped up with both feet still in air then landing on the smooth tile ground and slid across gracefully. While I on the other hand slowed down and waited for when the large guy notice what Brandon was doing before I made my move.

As Brandon neared the man with his legs straight with his baseball slide across the floor, the larger man jumped up. That's when I made my move dashing towards him as fast as I could, with each step painfully rocking my face. I just grit my teeth and pushed through it, so I could provide support for Brandon.

As Brandon then slid under the guy, the man entire focus was on him. That was perfect for me because once I gotten close enough I too leaped into the air and spun my body around to the right. Swinging my right leg as hard as I could, without even looking I felt my foot connect with him. Though I didn't have to look to feel that my foot had landed on his face.

Though he was a much bigger guy than I was the amount of force combine with the speed I used to get to him was enough to cause his body to spin out to the right. Though I to hit the ground very roughly.

"Brian!" Brandon yelled out to me standing to his feet.

"Ugh...I'm alright, remind me to get carpet put in here..." I said as I squirmed on the ground to place my palms flat on the ground to push myself up. Once I was on my feet I turned to see the damage that I've done. "Well I guess that done the trick." The large man was on the ground completely knocked unconscious.

"Well Brian you were the one to knock him out so you get him by the head, and I'll grab him by the feet. Bastard will think twice before attacking one of us again." Brandon said as he walked over to where the large man was lying.

He grabbed him by the feet and then lifted; I quickly made my way over to where they were. I bend over to grab the large man by the shoulders and lifted. He was a lot heavier than I thought, to think he went down to a simple kick to the face.

We made our way over to the front door; everything was so quiet it felt weird bringing him across the large room.

"So what happened to everyone?" I asked Brandon.

"Not sure when I came in here everyone was gone. Though I think it may have had something to do with this guy beating you in the face." He said as he started adjusting his grip on the guy's legs.

I remained quiet until we reached the front door. Where then I just dropped the guy's shoulders and letting him fall to the ground. Letting his head hit the floor simply out of spite. I turned to the door and reached for the handle twisting the knob firmly the door opened.

My eyes shot wide opened once the door was completely opened. There was a group of guys waiting on the other side.

"Whoa dude what you did do to Ted?" A guy asked who was standing off to the side from my front porch.

"Is he a friend of yours?"

"Kind of...I'm so sorry for the trouble he caused...hope he didn't hurt you." The guy said with a nervous tone.

"Yeah well take him out of here and I'll consider not pressing charges." I said as I stepped out of the way to let him through to get his friend.

He walked over to examine his unconscious friend. "Wow he's really out cold...holy shit!" he yelled as he looked up to see Brandon standing by his friends legs.

I guess he must haven't saw Brandon in the angle he was on, on the other side of the door. Though I think he was overreacting just a tad bit.

"What?" Brandon asked the man, because just stood there in awe.

"Nothing...nothing." He said as he bent over to pick his larger friend up.

With a tug on the shoulder the man was able to drag his friend outside to the porch. That's when his other friends came to help him out. There were about four of them pretty old looking about mid to late twenties; they all lifted him from the shoulders and carried his limp body to a car they had parked outside.

The first guy who was to step in and help out; turned and looked back to where I now stand and politely bowed his head to me. I just nodded back to him and turned back into the house to see Brandon walking back to where the bedroom was.

I took a quick look around the room and saw the horrible state that it was in I look back towards Brandon and said, "Aren't you going to help clean this place? I mean it was your party."

"I'm going to tell you 'no' for two reasons..." He said just as he was going to reach for the door handle. He held up two fingers to add emphasis to his point. "First off that's what we paid maids for and secondly I still have some half-finished business in my room. So if you don't mind I think I'll be heading back, if you weren't so busy picking a fight you would have something to do as well." He said as he opened the door and slammed it roughly as he passed through it.

"Well if you hadn't thrown the stupid party I wouldn't have gotten into the fight!" I yelled to the top of my lungs hoping he'd hear.

Closing the front door I lowly sighed to myself, now staring at my shoes I began wondering what my father could have wanted. I know he wanted us to explore the world and gain knowledge, plus experience with as many Pokémon as possible. I want us to become the two top Pokémon masters in the world.

But all our time is being squandered with these lowly parties, ugh I mean I love my brother, but sometimes I wish he'd get a little more serious. Though I can't really blame him for wanting to live everyday as if it were his last, things weren't always like this...

Balding up both of my fist I closed my eyes and turned around to the front door and slammed both of my fists as hard as I could against it.

"But that's why I want us to continue with father's wishes so we never go back to that god forsaken place!" I yelled once again as a tear slowly fell to the floor.

I wiped my face, it was going on ten o'clock and I put out more energy than I would have liked to because I'm starting to become very tired. Though I really don't have a reason to fight the sleep and the pain in my face is starting to bother me.

'Ugh I know as soon as I wake up my entire face is going to be twice as swollen.' I thought to myself as rubbed my face.

That's when an idea of how I could help cope with all this came into my head. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out one of my two Pokéballs. I turned around to face the main lobby, and gave the ball a light toss into air making sure that it landed close to me. It really didn't matter though the large lobby was empty so nobody would bother me.

With a small white explosion the ball opened and rained down a bright white energy. The energy slowly formed shape of the being that was inside.

There stood one of my pride and joys, there stood my Glaceon whose fur was almost as bright as the energy that poured from the Pokéball. She stood majestically as she gazed upon me with almost a worry look.

She was very prideful and didn't like showing her feeling very often. She only knows how to get the job done by any means. Though which made her most effective when it came to battling, whenever she battled alongside of my brother and one of his Pokémon she'd often use them as shields.

I knew her weaknesses and she knew mine like what any good trainer would know and share with their Pokémon. She was my first Pokémon and ever since the day I found her back when she was an Eevee I knew what she was going to become long before she evolved. Even though she stayed out in the sun all the time and done lots of things that would have evolved her into another type of Eevee-evolution. The attitude she always had was very cold, but it didn't bother me none.

"Hey Diamond." I said holding a hand out towards her.

She just huffed at me angrily, and started making her way towards me. She just sat in front of me without even muttering a single thing. I guess just from the look on my face and how bruised it actually was, she must be upset from that I guess. Usually she would huff and turn her head away from me as if she wouldn't care, but it seems that she is actually showing more attention to me even if it was her being angry with me.

"You mind being an ice pack for a while girl? Not sure if you notice, but I slipped and fell that's why my face look the way it do." I said hoping she'd by into the obvious lie.

She continued to stare at me with a blank expression on her face. I could tell that she knew that I was lying, but then just walked closer to me very causally. Then using her sharp fangs, she bit down onto my right leg hard as she could, which caused me to fall over.

"Damn, all I said was a lie so you wouldn't be as pissed as I thought you would. Geez girl I just didn't want you disappointed in me." I said leaning up rubbing her on the head.

She just huffed and then let go of my leg, turning away from me she started to walk away slowly. For a Pokémon she was very hard to read, but over time I grew accustom to it. Though back when she was an Eevee she always have had that attitude, but it really doesn't bother me anymore.

I took a gaze down at my leg to see the damage there was only a light dent in my skin, and it was pretty cold. No real damage was done; I just want some company to relax with for a while. My face was starting to bother me again and then it hit me as to why I released her in the first place.

"Hey Diamond you mind doing me a solid please..." I asked her in a begging tone.

She looked back to me with a half gaze. I assume that she must be very annoyed for some reason though at this point I didn't care what it was. The only thing I need from her was to accompany me to my room.

"Anyway could you walk with me to my room? I'm actually not feeling that well and Brandon is doing something in his room." I said not wanting to tell her what he was really doing.

She just stood there, took a deep sigh, and closed her eyes. I assume that was my cue to follow behind her. I started to slowly make my way behind her; I notice that she opened her gaze half way again to stare holes inside me. It was kind of cute so I didn't really mind.

As we navigated our way through the pile of mess that now flooded the floor in our house. Once we made it to the other side of the trash in the main hall. There was the large door that seemed the reached to the roof, though that could be the massive headache that was setting in.

As I then reached for the handle I look down to the creature that walked besides me, despite the way she's acting might be the only thing that's shown some concern for me. And in all honesty I'm very grateful to have her by my side, though I'm pretty sure she would never show it I know that she'll feel the same way.

I pushed open the door that lead to the hallway, now stumbling down the long hall I could feel something pushing against my back leg. When I look down to see what it was, there stood Diamond with the same facial expression.

She kept nudging my leg for behind her face was very cold to the touch even though I wore black jeans I could still feel the chill from her face on my leg.

"What's the matter girl I'm in enough pain as is and your cold face isn't helping." I said stopping in front of her.

She just stopped behind me and looks up at me with the same look on her face. She shook her head and then started walking pass me.

'Well that was just weird I wonder what could be wrong with her.' I thought to myself as I continued following behind her.

About a minute passed by of us just walking down the hall with an awkward silence. I made it towards my room door the first thing I thought about was how I was just going to sleep this night away. Things couldn't get any worse than it was, and if it did I was going to go to sleep.

Pushing on the door to my room sluggishly my face felt like it weighed a ton. Once I pushed the door I lazily stumbled in with Diamond right on my heels. My bed felt like it was a mile away, because the pain my face really started to take its toll.

Diamond quickly dashed pass me and onto my bed and buried herself inside my covers. It's a habit I didn't mind her having, to see such a serious Pokémon act like a child was pretty funny. Making my way over to her I just kept a smile on my face.

By the time I reached my bed she'd completely covered inside the sheets in my bed. I just sat down by the edge of the bed and kicked off both of my boots. I then stretched both of my arms in the air and laid back.

The bed was a king size and Diamond was lying in the center of it. I smiled as I stared at the ceiling reminiscing about what just happened today.

Why am I'm not crawling into bed with a woman, but instead a Pokémon that only somewhat respect me. As my eyes started to close I began thinking about Brandon who was just across the hall making love to some insanely hot chick that he just met.

I don't know maybe I'm thinking about this entire situation wrong, maybe Brandon was right. I could have easily walked away from that fight and continued looking until I had a woman under my wings, but instead I got into a fight got the shit beat out of me and ruined the evening for everyone there.

My mind started to go blank as I went to sleep. There was a soothing sensation as I began to lose consciousness. It was as if though someone was healing the pain on my face, but it was mostly due to the sleep. I started waking up slowly, as my eyes began to slowly open up the cold sensation took a spike in pain on my face.

My eyes quickly shot open and so did the rest of my body as well. The moon outside shined brightly inside my room when I fully stood up to my feet. I looked on my bed and saw my Glaceon resting peacefully even after all the commotion I just caused.

I sighed to myself when I saw the sight, but it also made me wonder why she would crawl next to me. I mean she had the entire bed to herself basically. So I didn't want to spoil her rest so I decided to get in at the head of my bed.

Once I crawled up I just buried my face inside the cozy pillow and immediately fell asleep.

As I started to drift off into my dream, I felt the bed wiggle a bit. It was enough to cause me to wake up again. Now this was starting to become annoying, if I can find that Pokéball I'll quickly put her back so could go to sleep.

"Ugh Diamond please I'm not in the mood to be bothered." I said reaching for my belt that was around my waist that contained her Pokeball. Not sure why it was still there, guess I must be more tired than I realized to not pull it off before I got in my bed.

Though it's not like I have anything covering me up to keep me warm so I could easily remove it and return her to her ball. Now that I think about it she really hasn't done anything to be returned to her ball, I'm only being just being cranky right now.

She just kept walking towards the head of the bed where I was. I just kept an eye on her to see what she was up to as she approached me. Once she reached my face she leaned in and gave the entire left side of my face a long hard lick. It was one of the coldest things I've ever felt in my life which sent a chill throughout my body.

"Holy shit that's cold!" I yelled as I immediately jumped up from the bed again.

She just sat there on her rump on the bed on top of my pillows. Just staring at me with that blank expression of hers, staring at me and then shook her head disappointedly at me. Curling herself into a ball of light blue fur she just laid on my pillow.

'Ugh I can tell tonight is going to have some cold wind coming our way.' I thought as I looked towards Diamond.
