Day 4: The Realization
You awaken in a pitch-black room. You slowly rise to your feet as you instantly feel as if you are being watched. Due to the nature of the room, you can't tell who is watching you. You cautiously stand up and start to walk in the direction you were facing. As you walk, you can still tell of the people watching you. All of the sudden from behind you, a light came on. You spin around and see a mightyena, but this is not just any mightyena, this one was from your pack! As you open your mouth to say something, another light comes on behind you. You turn and see another mightyena in the light, which was another from your pack. Many more lights come on all around you with most of your former companions. Then, one of them says something.
"Where the fuck were you?!", he said. You just stand there with your mouth still half open.
"Well, are you going to answer?", he said. All you do is just stand there gawking.
"Fine, if you're not going to talk, then you listen", says another mightyena. "It is all your fault that we are dead!".
Another one said, "Yeah, it's all your fault." Then all of the mightyenas around you started to chant over and over again, "All your fault, all your fault". All you do is slowly lie down on your stomach and put your paws over your ears. All you can hear are the taunting voice of the ones that were once your friends. Then, the noises all stop. You quickly open your eyes to see yourself in the cave. You give a quick sigh of relief. "It was only just a dream", you think to yourself. As you think this, you feel something stir next to you. You look down to see the sleeping body of your lover, little Ele. She was still fast asleep, and from the look on her face, she must be having a very pleasant dream. She was curled up next to you, using your body for warmth. You try to move away from her as to not disturb her, but to no avail. She started to stir and her eyes opened slowly. She lets out a yawn.
"Good morning", you say softly. She looks up at you while she stands up.
"Morning, love", she says back. You give her a big smile. She licks you on the tip of your nose. You rub your head softly against hers in return. You and her get up and leave to go get breakfast and, for the first time, it was an uneventful trip. On the way back, you both decide to stop by a nearby river to get some water after all of the "exercise" the two of you got the night before. As you were walking, out of nowhere, Ele started to rub up against your side again. You smile at this and return the rub back at her with your side. She starts murring when you start the return.
"Oh, Kuso, I can't wait to settle down with your and raise our child", she started to say. "WHAT?!", you think to yourself. You just slowly nod in response. Then you are interrupted by the espeon saying, "I think were almost there." As the two of you reach the area with the river, you quickly duck your head down behind a bush and hers followed fast with the help of your paw.
"Hey, wha...", she started to say, but you quickly slipped your paw down over her mouth. You slowly raise your head and cautiously looked into the clearing. You again see what you saw before abruptly throwing your head down. There they were again, those same people dressed in the same cloths. It was the same group that destroyed your pack, and their pokemon. You let out an anger-filled growl at the men, but making sure to keep it down so they would not hear. You are about to slip your head back down when you notice something else, the absol. It was the same fucking absol that gave you that wound and helped bring down your pack. But, to your disappointment, one of the other trainers saw your head and instantly stood up looking strait at you. It did not take the others very long to catch on about what the trainer was doing and join in the stance.
You quickly look down to Ele and say softly, "They haven't spotted you yet, get out of here!". You already knew in the back of your mind that you would not be able to get away since they had already seen you.
"No, you will need help to fight them!", she said back.
"I don't care, I'm not going to put you in danger!", you say. She looks at you with love in her eyes, as she turns and takes off into the bushes. You let out a small sigh of relief as you know your love is safe. You step out of the bushes, and then the one trainer had a look in his eye, as he knew that you were the same mightyena that he fought four days ago. He gives a motion to the other trainers, and they all back off. He gives out a small whistle and all of the sudden the all-too familiar absol jump not but ten feet away from you. You let out a growl as the absol just stood there, a cocky smirk planted on his face. Then the absol quickly moved off to his left and faded off into the air. You knew that this was a Faint Attack and, if done properly, never missed. And, no surprise, you feel a strong pain in your side as the absol smashes right into your rib cage. You go flying and land about four feet away from your original position. You slowly and painfully get back up on your feet as you look up the absol. The smirk on his face starts to get less confident, he rushes over to your right and with a surprising burst of strength, you jump forward and ram the absol in its upper-right leg. It almost immediately jumped back and looked at its leg. "That must have something!", you think to yourself. Almost as if reading your thoughts, the absol shook the paw once with a large amount of strength, and just put it back down underneath him as if it was nothing. "Aww, FUCK!", you think to yourself. Just then the absol rushed you and slammed you in the left. You let out a small yelp as you go flying again, this time hitting a tree dead on with your spine. "OUCH!", you think to yourself again. You try to stand up again but to no avail. Your entire body is engulfed in pain as all of you senses start to get blurry. All you see as you lay there on your side is a white blur go up to you and look you strait in the eyes. It stood back up and looked at the trainer and shook his head. You saw the group of people take off.
Everything is starting to get dark. You start to think about things, bad things, all of the bad things in your life. Every tiny little thing until, all of the pictures reeling through your head stops and you see something, more rather someone, Ele. You start to think of all the things you did with her, the times you spent together, everything. But, even though your mind is clouded by these good memories, you still feel bad for one reason. You will never see her again. You let yourself drift off into infinite darkness and eternal rest.
