AGNPH Stories

Unexpected Hero by The Wandering Pikachu

Story Notes:

My first story. It's supposed to be a story which revolves around the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game. The current chapters aren't exactly my best work, though I believe I am slowly improving them and getting better. My newer stories and chapters after the first ten of this story should hopefully be better.

Taking on a Legend

I read over the chapter and sorry for the delay. I got distracted playing some games online, so I didn't really focus that much on this.

Well, I hope this will still be enjoyable for you.

Anyway, enjoy.

-----------------------------------------------------------

I opened my eyes, awakening from a wonderful night's sleep. I yawned and stretched my limbs to make myself more awake. I sat up on the bundle of hay and thought back to last night. I had learned that Stephanie has been in love with me, right before I had watched her masturbate.

"I hope she'll forgive me after what I did last night. Stephanie, I'm sorry I didn't realize it sooner. I hope you'll admit your love when I admit mine." I said to myself. After she had admitted her love for me to herself, I admitted my love for her to myself. I stood up on the bundle of hay, getting ready to walk out. "Well, she'll be here soon. I'll deal with this later, after our mission today." I said.

I grabbed the Toolbox from nearby and started walking out of the base. When I got out, I could see Stephanie walking up to the base with a smile on her face. I knew I had hurt her last night with my words, but I hoped she would forgive me. Only time would tell though, so I dropped it out of my head for now and listened as she started speaking.

"Good morning, Daniel! Did you sleep well?" She asked.

"Yeah, just fine. How about you?" I replied, smiling at her. I was sure she had gotten a good night's sleep after her fun with herself, but I still wanted to know.

"I slept fine too. OK... We should be heading to Mt. Thunder to do the Shiftry rescue, right? But Alakazam said that we should be prepared before we try... What should we do? We can go to Mt. Thunder right now or later. It's up to you. But anyway, let's do our best like always!" Stephanie said, smiling at me.

I remembered what she was talking about from yesterday. Zapdos, a legendary Pokémon, had been awoken and took Shiftry to Mt. Thunder. I thought about what she had said and decided to just go ahead and do the Mt. Thunder mission.

"Well, I think we should go ahead and go to Mt. Thunder. The sooner we rescue Shiftry, the better." I replied. I saw her give a nod, before I started speaking again. "Well, let's get going." I said. I decided to make a quick stop in Pokémon Square before we went to Mt. Thunder.

We started walking over to Pokémon Square, toward Kangaskhan Storage. I figured we might need to get some things we had stored here that might be of help to us on this mission. I walked in front of the stand and saw Kangaskhan smile at me before speaking.

"Hello! What can I do for you, sweeties?" She asked.

"Well, can I look through our items to see what I may want to take out?" I asked. I saw her nod at me, before she reached behind the counter and grabbed the box, which had all of our items in it I've given her so far. She handed it to me and I took it, looking through our items and thinking of which ones may be the most helpful today.

I thought of the name of where we were going and I realized what would be the most helpful. I pulled out the two Reviver Seeds, an Oran Berry, a Cheri Berry, and a Pecha Berry. I handed her back the box and saw her put it back in place, then she turned to look at me as she spoke.

"Anything else, dears?" She asked. I shook my head, telling her that was all I wanted. "Okay, well come again soon!" She exclaimed. We started walking again away from there and over to the Wigglytuff Club. I figured maybe there might be a new Friend Area or two that I could buy to help us recruit members today. I wanted to give our current team members a break, as I knew they weren't as strong as us. We walked in front of the Wigglytuff Club and saw her look at us before speaking.

"Welcome friends! What can I do for you?" She asked us.

"I'd like to see a list of the Friend Areas you still have for sale." I replied. I saw her nod at me, before she pulled out a piece of paper with the Friend Areas she still had available for us. I took it from her and started looking over them, wondering which one might be a good one to buy for today's mission. Finally, I noticed one that might be of help to us.

"Well, did you find any you wanted?" Wigglytuff asked. I nodded my head as I started speaking.

"Yeah, I'd like the Safari Friend Area." I replied.

"Well, that'll be 700 Poké then if you want it." Wigglytuff said. I pulled out the Poké and handed it over to her. She put it in the register and started her singing and dancing to unlock the area for us. Then, I saw a flash of light as she stopped her singing and dancing and spoke to us. "Congratulations! Now you can recruit Pokémon for the Safari Friend Area! Is that all?" She said. I nodded my head, telling her that there was nothing else we wanted. "Bye! Come back soon!" She exclaimed.

We started walking from there over to the Pelipper Post Office to take a quick peek at the board and see if there were any new missions we could take. Once we arrived at the Bulletin Board, I looked it over. There weren't many missions up today, but I noticed another one in the Sinister Woods. I reached up and selected Accept under the job, so we could take it. Then, I selected Take Job so we could now go to the dungeon and do the mission.

Seeing as we were done here, I decided to start walking back toward our base, so we could head from there toward where we would go today. As I was walking, I kept thinking about Stephanie and how upset she must be with me, even though she's putting on a brave face. Soon, we had reached our base and we started walking from there to the area where we would find Zapdos and Shiftry: Mt. Thunder.

It took us quite a while to reach Mt. Thunder as it was the farthest dungeon from our base we've gone to thus far. I imagined we would go to farther ones in the future, but I didn't want to think about those now as we were focusing on the mission ahead of us. We stopped when we reached the foot of the mountain, where Zapdos had told us he would be. I saw Stephanie look to her sides as she started to speak.

"This is the foot of Mt. Thunder. I wonder... Is Alakazam's team already on their way?" She asked curiously. I figured they would be on their way hopefully, as they said they would be here to rescue Shiftry like us. "Zapdos... It sounds very tough..." Stephanie said trailing off. "Brr... I'm shaking..." She continued as she started shaking from fear. I turned to face her and she turned to face me. "I can't be scared now. Our objective is simple. We're rescuing Shiftry." She said, smiling at me.

"Yeah, that's the spirit! Never give up, Stephanie!" I exclaimed. I saw her nod at me as she continued speaking.

"Daniel, let's try out best!" She exclaimed. I nodded to what she said and we started walking inside. Upon entering, I saw a Max Elixir on the ground and picked it up, placing it in the Toolbox. We continued walking, looking for the top and any possible Pokémon we could recruit to our team.

I noticed some Poké on the ground and picked it up, storing it away. I remembered that there was a Plain Seed in the Toolbox, so I pulled it out and ate it, freeing up some space in the Toolbox. I picked up an Oran Berry that was nearby and stored it in the Toolbox for future use.

As we kept walking, I also encountered a Gravelerock on the ground and picked it up, adding it to the others in the Toolbox. We finally encountered our first enemy, a male Nidoran. I prepared to battle him, to see if he would maybe join our team.

"Thundershock!" I called, shocking the Nidoran and weakening it slightly. I was about to prepare for his attack, when Stephanie's voice jumped in.

"Quick Attack!" She called, hitting the Nidoran square in his side and weakening it further. The Nidoran attacked me back, hurting me slightly. I prepared to finish him off, so I attacked it and it fell down to the ground, defeated. Instead of staying down, it got back up, so I knew we had recruited another member to our team.

"That was a nice battle. Can I join you on your rescue team?" He asked us.

"Sure! Welcome aboard!" I exclaimed. Then, I decided to introduce ourselves to him. "I'm Daniel and this is my partner, Stephanie." I said, pointing to her. I saw him look at her curiously and I wondered why he had done that. Deciding to try to figure that out later, I decided it was time to get going again. "Well, let's keep going." I said. My teammates started walking with me, as we kept trying to look for Shiftry and Zapdos.

As we kept walking, I came across a Blast Seed and looked inside the Toolbox. It looked full, but I figured I could make room for it. I pulled out an Oran Berry and held onto it, in case I needed to use it in the future. I picked up the Blast Seed and put it into the Toolbox for safekeeping. Soon, we came across a Pidgeotto, the evolved form of a Pidgey. I prepared for a battle, since I had the advantage over a Flying-type.

"Thundershock!" I called, shocking the Pidgeotto with the electric attack. It knocked the Pidgeotto out and strengthened us a little bit. We continued walking, looking for anything that might be helpful to us. As we kept walking, I saw some Poké on the ground and picked it up. I also noticed a sleeping Cacnea nearby and decided that I might as well use some of the Gravelerocks I'm holding.

I pulled one out of the Toolbox and threw it at the Cacnea, hitting it. It woke up and started moving over toward us. I threw another Gravelerock at the Cacnea, hitting it once again. Then, Stephanie decided to finish it off.

"Quick Attack!" She called, hitting the Cacnea in the stomach and knocking it out. We kept walking and soon, I came across another male Nidoran. Seeing as we already had one, I decided to battle this one and knock him out. The Nidoran then started kicking me with his feet, which I realized was a Double Kick attack. He hurt me quite a bit, but I was still okay for now.

"Thundershock!" I called, but when the attack was about to hit the Nidoran, it was redirected somewhere else on the floor. I thought it was strange that had happened, but I decided not to focus on it now, as I had a battle to focus on.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, hitting the Nidoran for me and helping me out. I was thankful she had, but now it was my turn to attack him. The Nidoran then attacked me, weakening me further. I decided to use a different attack, since I didn't want a repeat of what happened before.

"Quick Attack!" I called, trying to hit the Nidoran and missing him.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, trying to hit him and missing as well. I wondered why we were missing, when I noticed the Nidoran start to focus his energy and looking ready to fight us more than before. I realized he had used a Focus Energy attack, which I was not happy with. I hoped that I would finish him off now.

"Quick Attack!" I called, missing the Nidoran once again.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, hitting the Nidoran for me. I was frustrated that we had missed him, but I didn't know why. I then noticed the Nidoran use a Leer attack on me, lowering my defenses. I prepared to finish it off this time. I pulled out a Gravelerock and threw it at the Nidoran, hitting and knocking him out. I noticed him start to look at us admirably and I knew what he wanted, but I was afraid I would have to turn him down.

"Sorry, but we already have one of your kind with us. I hope you understand." I said. I noticed he looked behind Stephanie and saw him.

"No problem. Well, good luck with your mission." He said, before walking off and letting us continue. We started walking again, encountering another Cacnea as we did so. I pulled out a Blast Seed from the Toolbox and ate it, feeling the fire fill my mouth. I opened my mouth and released the flames, letting them hit the Cacnea.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, hitting the Cacnea and finishing it off for me. We continued walking, looking for any sign that we were near the top, but I knew it would take us a little while before that happened. As we walked, I soon ran into a new Pokémon, an Electrike. It attacked me, but then sparks flew off of its body, so I knew I had paralyzed it.

I felt really weak at this point, so I pulled out an Oran Berry from the Toolbox and ate it, feeling my energy return as I did so. Then, Stephanie's voice jumped in as she prepared to attack.

"Quick Attack!" She called, hitting the Electrike and weakening it slightly. I prepared to attack it now, so I pulled out another Blast Seed from the Toolbox and ate it, feeling the fire fill my mouth. I opened my mouth and released the flames, letting them hit the Electrike. It fell down to the ground, defeated.

We continued our walking, to do what we had come here to do. As we kept walking, I could see a sleeping Pidgeotto, so I walked up to it and woke it up. I prepared to battle it again, rather than have Stephanie hurt herself.

"Thundershock!" I called and this time, the attack didn't get redirected, but it still missed the Pidgeotto. The Pidgeotto then used Tackle on me, hitting me hard. I prepared to attack it once again. "Thundershock!" I called, shocking the Pidgeotto this time. It fell down to the ground, defeated. We kept walking, encountering a Beedrill this time, which was the fully evolved form of a Weedle.

"Thundershock!" I called, shocking the Beedrill and weakening it somewhat. The Beedrill then started trying to attack me with its stingers and I realized it was a Fury Attack, but I managed to miss the first one. The second one hit me though and then, I saw sparks fly off of it, so I knew it was paralyzed now. "Thundershock!" I called, shocking the Beedrill and weakening it again. I was about to finish it off when I heard Stephanie's voice behind me.

"Quick Attack!" She called, jumping up and hitting the Beedrill. Her attack had knocked the Beedrill out. We continued walking, looking for the end to this large mountain. As we kept walking, we didn't encounter any enemies, until we ran into an Electabuzz. I knew we had a tough battle, so I prepared to let my teammates help me out on this one.

"Leer! Peck!" Nidoran called, performing a combination attack of his own. He lowered the defenses of the Electabuzz and then used his Peck attack to hit the Electabuzz, weakening it slightly. The Electabuzz then attacked him back, weakening him slightly. I prepared to battle it now, as I took my battle pose.

"Thundershock!" I called, shocking the Electabuzz with electricity. It hit the Electabuzz, weakening it further. I saw sparks fly off of its body, so I knew it was paralyzed now. I wondered why it was working now and it wouldn't before. I figured it might've been due to a Pokémon we were near before, but I decided to figure it out later, if I could.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, dashing forward and hitting the Electabuzz. It fell down to the ground, defeated and we continued walking. I could see some Poké on the ground as we walked, so I decided to pick it up and place it in the Toolbox for future spending. As I did this, I couldn't help but think about Stephanie. She liked doing this for me and she had stopped doing it because of me. I decided to stop thinking about it and focus on the mission ahead, so we continued walking.

I found another Oran Berry, so I picked it up and placed it in the Toolbox. We kept walking and I found another Gravelerock and some Poké on the ground. I picked those up, adding those to the Toolbox for future use as well. Soon, we came across a Manectric, the evolved form of Electrike. I took out a Gravelerock and threw it at the Manectric, weakening it slightly.

It moved closer, so I prepared to battle it for real now. "Thundershock!" I called, trying to shock the Manectric, but missing it as a lightning rod of some sort seemed to absorb my attack. I realized now that it was this Pokémon, or maybe its pre-evolved form, that absorbed my attack earlier. The Manectric attacked me, hurting me a little bit. I prepared to attack it with another attack, as I realized it would keep absorbing all of my electric attacks.

"Quick Attack!" I called, trying to hit the Manectric and missing it. Then, Stephanie's voice spoke from behind me.

"Quick Attack!" She called, hitting the Manectric in the side and knocking it down. It got back up and attacked me again. I prepared to attack it once again.

"Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Manectric this time and weakening it further. The Manectric then tried releasing a Thunder Wave on me, but I dodged it and it hit where I was standing before. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Manectric once again and knocking it out. We kept walking, as I wondered if we were getting close to the top or not.

We soon reached a dead end and I sighed. We started walking back, looking for the correct path. I then encountered another Electabuzz and its hand started charging up an electric current, which I realized was a Thunderpunch. But it was too late to dodge and I got hit. I could feel like I couldn't move, so I must've been paralyzed by the attack. I started to pull out a Cheri Berry from the Toolbox and quickly ate it, feeling the paralysis wear off and that I could move again.

The Electabuzz attacked me, weakening me yet again. I prepared to fight it now, since the paralysis was gone. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Electabuzz and weakening it slightly. The Electabuzz attacked me again and I felt really weak at this point. I pulled out an Oran Berry and started eating it, feeling my energy return as I did so.

The Electabuzz then used Quick Attack, hitting me hard. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Electabuzz back and weakening it again. The Electabuzz attacked me once again and I prepared to defeat it this time. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Electabuzz one final time and knocking it out. I could suddenly feel stronger, so I realized I had leveled up again. I decided not to express my happiness and continue on, as I could feel we were getting close.

We started walking again and I could hear Stephanie's voice from behind me. "Quick Attack!" She called and I turned around to see her battling a Beedrill. She hit the Beedrill and weakened it slightly. I felt sorry that I had left her by herself, so I decided to help. I pulled out a Gravelerock and threw it at the Beedrill, hitting it. "Leer! Pound!" She called, hitting the Beedrill with her combo attack. It knocked the Beedrill out and strengthened us yet again.

I was about to turn back around, when I noticed another Manectric coming up toward Stephanie. I pulled out a Gravelerock and threw it at the Manectric, hitting and weakening its energy. It moved closer, so I threw another Gravelerock at it and weakened it yet again. It moved toward us again, so I threw one last Gravelerock at it, before deciding to let Stephanie finish it off. I started walking and I heard Stephanie's voice behind me.

"Quick Attack!" She called, hitting the Manectric and knocking it out. We continued walking and I spotted some Poké on the ground, picking it up. I saw a new Pokémon, a Growlithe. I wondered why a Fire-type was in this dungeon, but decided not to pay it any mind. I pulled out a Gravelerock and threw it at the Growlithe, hitting it.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, hitting the Growlithe hard. It started moving closer to us, so I pulled out another Gravelerock and threw it at the Growlithe, missing it this time. I hoped one of my teammates would finish it off, which I was sure they could do. "Leer! Pound!" Stephanie called, performing her combo attack again. She knocked the Growlithe out and we continued walking. I picked up the Gravelerock that missed the Growlithe and put it back in the Toolbox.

We kept walking and came across a Stantler, a Pokémon that looked like a deer. I attacked the Stantler, weakening it slightly. The Stantler then used Leer on me, weakening my defenses. "Thundershock!" I called, trying to hit the Stantler, but it was drawn off by another lightning rod from a Manectric. The Stantler then used Leer on me again, lowering my defenses again. "Quick Attack!" I called, rushing forward and hitting the Stantler. The Stantler then attacked me back, hurting me slightly.

"Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Stantler once again and weakening it. The Stantler then used Tackle on me, hitting me harder than normal because of the lower defense. I prepared to finish it off, at least I hoped I would. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Stantler once again and knocking it out. Instead of staying down though, it got back up and looked at me. I knew we had another one who wanted to join our team.

"That was a great battle. Can I join your rescue team?" The Stantler asked us. I noticed from its voice, that this one was a girl. I smiled as I started speaking.

"Sure! Welcome aboard!" I replied. I saw her start to smile as she started looking at us, wondering who we were. "I'm Daniel and these are my teammates, Stephanie and Nidoran." I said, pointing to my teammates behind me. I saw her nod at them and then, I saw my teammates nod at her. We started walking again, looking for where the end of this dungeon is. I saw some Poké on the ground and picked it up, storing it away for future use.

We came across a dead end, so I started backtracking my way toward what I hoped was the right path. I then came across an Ampharos, another Electric-type Pokémon. I figured that the Manectric that redirected my attack was still here, so I decided to attack it with something else.

"Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Ampharos dead-on and weakening it. The Ampharos attacked me back, hurting me slightly. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Ampharos again and weakening it further. The Ampharos then used Thundershock on me, hitting me with electricity and weakening me further. I was almost out of energy, but I could feel I was close to beating the Ampharos.

I pulled out a Gravelerock from the Toolbox and threw it at the Ampharos. It knocked the Ampharos out and made us closer to leveling up again. I was really weak, so I decided to pull out an Oran Berry and started eating it. I could feel my energy return as I ate it and soon, I felt back to normal. I noticed a disk-like object on the ground, which I remembered was a TM from when I was a human. I decided to experiment with it later, as I knew we needed to keep going, so I picked it up and put it away.

We continued walking, looking for Zapdos and Shiftry. I saw a Gravelerock on the ground and picked it up, adding it to the many others we already had. I pulled out the Oran Berry I was holding and placed it back in the Toolbox as well. I could feel that I couldn't use any moves, so I decided to pull out a Max Elixir and drank it. I could feel revitalized and that I could use my moves again. I noticed a Gligar walk up toward me, so I turned to face it and prepared to battle.

"Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Gligar hard and weakening its energy. The Gligar attacked me back, hurting me only a little. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Gligar hard again. It fell down to the ground, defeated. We continued walking, looking for the end to this big mountain. I could see another Gummi on the ground and picked it up, adding it to the Toolbox. The color of this one was clear and shiny, like it was for an Ice-type Pokémon. We ran into another dead end and I backtracked my way toward the right path.

I noticed another Ampharos off in the distance, so I prepared to battle it from afar. I pulled out a Gravelerock and threw it at the Ampharos, hitting it. It moved closer to us, so I pulled out another Gravelerock. I threw it at the Ampharos, weakening it once again. It moved closer again, so I pulled out one last Gravelerock and threw it at the Ampharos, knocking it out.

We continued walking, looking for the way toward the top of the mountain where Zapdos and Shiftry probably were. We kept walking and came across a dead end, so we walked back towards another path. That path led to another dead end, but it had some Poké on the ground, so I picked it up and put it away. We kept walking and came across another Ampharos.

"Quick Attack!" I called, rushing forward and hitting the Ampharos square in the side. It moved toward me and I prepared to attack it again. I threw a Gravelerock at the Ampharos, hitting it and weakening it again. The Ampharos then used a Thunder Wave on me, paralyzing me. I pulled out another Gravelerock and threw it at the Ampharos, knocking it out. I could feel that I could move again, so I continued walking with my teammates behind me.

We reached yet another dead-end, so I sighed once again and backtracked my way. I continued walking, until we came in front of a Growlithe. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Growlithe hard. The Growlithe then started roaring loudly, which I realized was a Roar attack, making me fly back and into Stephanie. I felt bad that I had hurt her, but I knew it wasn't my fault. I got up and dusted myself off, then I reached down and helped her get up.

I turned to face the Growlithe to battle it again. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Growlithe again and weakening it further. The Growlithe attacked me back, hurting me slightly. I saw sparks fly off of its body, so I knew it was paralyzed. I prepared to finish it off now. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Growlithe one last time and knocking it out. We continued walking and I reached yet another dead-end. I was really starting to hate those, so we walked back toward what I hoped was the right path.

We came across another Growlithe and I hoped I would be able to take a break soon, as I was getting pretty tired from all the walking and battling. The Growlithe used Roar and sent me flying back and hitting Stantler. I picked myself off the ground and watched her get up as well. I turned back to face the Growlithe, taking my battle pose.

"Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Growlithe and weakening its health. The Growlithe attacked me back, hurting me slightly. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Growlithe again. It tried attacking me again, but missed this time. I prepared to finish it off now. "Quick Attack!" I called, dashing forward and hitting the Growlithe one last time. It fell down to the ground, defeated. I heard a noise behind me, so I looked back and saw another Growlithe in front of Stephanie.

I decided to help her, so I threw a Gravelerock at the Growlithe, but I missed it. "Leer! Pound!" Stephanie called, hitting the Growlithe with her combo attack. The Growlithe then used Bite on her, hurting her slightly. I threw another Gravelerock at the Growlithe and succeeded this time. "Leer! Pound!" Stephanie called, using her combo attack again and knocking the Growlithe out. She picked up the Gravelerock off the ground and threw it to me, so I put it in the Toolbox.

We continued walking, looking for the end of this mountain. I came across another dead end and wanted to get angry, but I remembered I had others with me, plus I didn't want Stephanie to see me as some kind of guy who didn't like when things didn't go his way. We continued walking and I came across another dead end, but in this one, there was a Manectric and a Gligar.

I prepared to battle them, taking my battle pose. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Manectric and weakening it slightly. The Manectric used Tackle on me, hitting me hard. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Manectric again and weakening it further. The Manectric used Tackle on me again, hitting me hard. "Quick Attack!" I called, hoping to finish the Manectric off. I hit it, but it didn't fall down to the ground.

It started using Leer on me, lowering my defenses. Then, the Gligar that had moved next to me used Poison Sting, but it missed me just barely. I attacked the Manectric back, knocking it out. The Gligar used Poison Sting again and knocked me out. I was wondering what was going to happen, when I saw the Toolbox light up and a Reviver Seed was used, reviving me. It then turned into a Plain Seed after it was used.

Then, I was back on the field, in perfect condition. I prepared to battle the Gligar and see if I could use electric attacks now. "Thundershock!" I called, but the attack was redirected to a Manectric somewhere nearby. The Gligar used Poison Sting yet again on me, hurting me. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Gligar fast and hard. The Gligar attacked me back, hurting me again. "Quick Attack!" I called, trying to hit the Gligar and missing it.

The Gligar then used Poison Sting yet again and it hurt me. But, I saw sparks fly off of its body, so it had become paralyzed. I prepared to attack while it was still paralyzed. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Gligar hard and weakening it further. It was paralyzed, so I decided to finish it off. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Gligar fast one more time. It fell down to the ground, defeated. We continued walking, back to the way I hoped would lead us to the end of this huge mountain.

We reached yet another dead end, but I noticed a nearby path and started walking down it. Soon, we could see a wide area up ahead. It wasn't the end of the dungeon, I could tell that much, but it was a place to relax and sit for a few minutes.

"This is one tough dungeon. I hope it's not that much farther to the top." I said panting. I could see my other teammates were panting as well, as we were all tired from all the walking and battling we've done so far. I looked to Stephanie to see her look at me before she started speaking.

"Yeah, we need to get this mission done, so we can go home and get a good night's sleep." She said. I wanted to get a good night's rest, but I remembered I wanted to talk to Stephanie and admit my feelings for her. I decided to rub her arms in a comforting manner, like she's done to me in the past.

When I started to rub her arms, she walked away from me and looked back at me curiously. I felt very bad that I had hurt her, but I didn't mean for my words to come out so harsh. I decided to drop it and hopefully, I could make her feel better later, after the mission was over.

"Well, that's enough rest. Let's get this mission done and over with." I said to my teammates. I saw them all nod at me, except Stephanie, who nodded while looking away from me. We continued walking toward the top, looking for Zapdos and Shiftry.

As we walked, Stephanie found some Poké on the ground and just handed it to me. We kept walking and I found some more Poké on the ground, storing it away. I could then see a Manectric nearby and decided to attack it. I threw a Gravelerock at the Manectric, hitting and weakening it.

It moved closer to us and so I decided to throw another Gravelerock at it, but I missed it this time. It moved in front of me and wanted to battle with me now. "Quick Attack!" I called, rushing forward and hitting the Manectric. I heard Stephanie's voice beside me as she joined in.

"Quick Attack!" She called, jumping forward and hitting the Manectric as well. It was weaker now, so one more hit would finish it off and Stantler decided to join in as well.

"Tackle!" She called, trying to hit the Manectric with her body, but missed it. It attacked me back, hurting me only a little bit. I attacked the Manectric one last time, knocking it out. We continued walking, when we ran into another Growlithe. I threw a Gravelerock at it, hitting it and weakening it slightly. It moved closer, so I threw another Gravelerock at it and hit it again. Then, Stephanie decided to finish it off for me.

"Quick Attack!" She called, rushing forward and hitting the Growlithe. It was now knocked out and we were all stronger because of it. We kept walking, when all of a sudden I heard Stantler's voice behind me.

"Leer!" She called and I turned around to see her battling a Gligar. I hoped she would be okay on her own, as I didn't mean to let her get into that battle on her own. The Gligar then tried to use Poison Sting, but missed her thankfully. I decided to help her out, so I threw a Gravelerock at the Gligar and hit it.

"Tackle!" She called, hitting the Gligar hard with her body. It used another Poison Sting attack and hit her this time, weakening her slightly. I decided to finish it off now, so I threw another Gravelerock and it fell down to the ground, defeated. I heard cheering coming from Stantler, so I realized she had leveled up and I was happy for her.

We kept walking and came across another Growlithe as we did so. The Growlithe used Bite on me, hurting me slightly as its teeth tried to dig into my body. When it let go, I prepared to battle it. "Quick Attack!" I called, hitting the Growlithe hard and weakening it somewhat. I heard Stephanie's voice behind me as she joined in the battle.

"Quick Attack!" She called, hitting the Growlithe hard as well. The Growlithe then used Bite on me again and I found I couldn't move, so the Growlithe must have made me flinch. I pulled out a Gravelerock and threw it at the Growlithe, knocking it out. As we kept walking, I could see a Manectric off in the distance, so I decided to use some of the Gravelerocks in the Toolbox.

I pulled one out and threw it at the Manectric, hitting it. It moved closer, so I threw another one at it and weakening it again. It moved closer, so I threw another one at it, but unlike the other ones, it missed. It moved closer again, so I threw another at it and hit it this time. It moved closer, so I decided to finish it off now. I attacked it one last time, knocking it out.

We continued walking and I picked up the Gravelerock that was on the path we traveled. Soon, I could feel that we had gotten to the top of the mountain. As we reached the top, I could see lightning surround the mountain and dark clouds around us. I saw Stephanie looking to her sides out of the corner of my eye. Then, she turned to face me and I turned to face her as she started speaking.

"This is the summit..." She said smiling. Then, we turned to face forward as she started speaking again with an angry tone in her voice. "Hey! Zapdos! Where are you?! We came to rescue Shiftry! Come out!" She yelled. I wondered where Zapdos was as well, but I heard a familiar call from around us.

"Gyaoooooooooh!" Zapdos called. Then, he flew down in front of us. He looked rather tough, but I wasn't about to regret coming here now. We were going to take him down, but Stephanie looked very surprised when he came down in front of us.

"Waah!" She exclaimed. Then, she ran behind me and started shaking as she looked at the legendary bird of thunder.

"I warned you! I have no mercy for meddlers!" Zapdos exclaimed. I could still feel Stephanie behind me as she continued speaking.

"Not scared... You don't frighten me!" She said, still shaking. Then, she ran forward with a determined look on her face as she continued speaking. "Hey, Zapdos! Release Shiftry! We're a Pokémon rescue team!" She exclaimed angrily. There was a flash of thunder as Zapdos continued speaking.

"You must be determined, to utter such words." He said, as there was another flash of thunder. "Then you shall answer..." He said trailing off, as another flash of thunder appeared. "To my great and righteous fury!" He exclaimed, finishing his sentence. We all got ready for what was one tough fight, I figured.

We all took our battle poses and I moved closer to Zapdos, so I could attack him more easily. "Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, rushing forward to hit him and missing. Stantler moved closer, wanting to get in on the battle as well. He then tried to attack me, but missed thankfully. I tried moving closer, so I could let Nidoran in on the battle. "Absorb!" Stephanie called, sucking energy from Zapdos and weakening him a little.

Nidoran moved closer until he was in a position to attack Zapdos. "Leer!" Stantler called, lowering his defenses so he would be easier to take down. He attacked Nidoran, weakening him slightly, but he was still conscious. I prepared to help my teammates by making him unable to move.

"Thunder Wave!" I called, trying to paralyze Zapdos and succeeding. He was unable to move, so he would be easier to take down now, I hoped.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, rushing forward and hitting Zapdos hard.

"Focus Energy!" Nidoran called, trying to focus himself for his next attack.

"Tackle!" Stantler called, hitting Zapdos hard with her body and weakening him further. Seeing as he was still unable to move, I decided to attack him now.

"Thundershock!" I called, shocking Zapdos with my electricity and hitting him. I hoped we would beat him before the paralysis wore off and he could battle again.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, jumping up and hitting Zapdos again hard.

"Focus Energy!" Nidoran called, trying to focus himself once again, but I saw this as pointless.

"Tackle!" Stantler called, hitting Zapdos hard again with her body, making him weaker. I prepared to attack him again, as he was still paralyzed by my Thunder Wave.

"Thundershock!" I called, shocking him with the electric attack once again. I hit him, weakening him further. I hoped he would be defeated soon.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, hitting him hard with her body again.

"Focus Energy!" Nidoran called, which I found to be a little silly once again that he was using that.

"Leer!" Stantler called, lowering his defense once again. I hoped that we would finish him off now.

"Quick Attack!" I called, rushing forward and hitting him hard due to his defenses being weakened.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, rushing forward and hitting him hard as well.

"Double Kick!" Nidoran called, hitting him the first time and missing the second time.

"Leer!" Stantler called, lowering his defense once more. Then, he seemed to be free of the paralysis and turned to face me.

"Peck!" He called, lunging forward and hitting me with that huge beak of his. He seemed rather agitated at me, so he probably wanted to get me back for paralyzing him and making him unable to do anything. I prepared to attack him back.

"Quick Attack!" I called, hitting him harder than I normally would. I hoped one of my teammates would finish him off now.

"Quick Attack!" Stephanie called, but she found that she was unable to use it as she must not be able to anymore.

"Double Kick!" Nidoran called, hitting him hard twice with his feet.

"Tackle!" Stantler called, charging forward and hitting him hard with her body. He fell down to the ground, defeated. I could hear cheering beside me, so I looked to see Nidoran with a happy expression on his face. I realized he had leveled up, so I smiled at him. Then, we turned to face Zapdos as he seemed to be trying to get back up.

"Gyaoooh!" He called. As he lay there panting and defeated, I saw Alakazam's team walking up behind us. They looked at Zapdos as Alakazam started speaking.

"Wh-what is going on..." He asked curiously. I was rather curious what Zapdos was doing as well.

"Urrggh! Uwaoh!" Zapdos called. Then, he got up and sparks started flying all around his body, like he was ready for another fight. We all jumped back when he started doing that. I hoped we wouldn't have to fight him again. Then, Charizard walked forward in front of Zapdos and us as he started speaking.

"You want more? I'll take you on!" He said. Then, the sparks stopped flying all around Zapdos as he seemed to calm down.

"Enough! That's enough fighting. I've calmed down. Take Shiftry back." Zapdos said. I was happy that he was going to give us back Shiftry. Then, he turned to us as he started speaking again. "You kids... You've impressed me. But... Things won't be this easy next time. I will go all out next time, so you'd best be prepared! Until then, you'd better hone your skills!" He exclaimed.

He started flying off and leaving us there. I was wondering if he really would give us Shiftry back and where he was. Then, I saw a flash of light from the sky that touched the ground in front of us. When it faded, I saw Shiftry lying there on the ground.

"Look! There's Shiftry!" Stephanie exclaimed. We all walked up to him, as we wanted to see if he was okay.

"Are you OK?" Charizard asked. Shiftry got up and looked around at us as he started speaking.

"Ungh... Uh, yeah... Somehow, I am..." He said. Then, Stephanie jumped up in the air as she started speaking with a smile on her face.

"I'm glad you're safe!" She exclaimed. Then, Tyranitar turned to face me as he started speaking to me.

"But that was an eye-opener. Driving off that Zapdos." He said. Then, Alakazam turned to face me as Charizard started speaking.

"I agree. You're awfully strong for a plain Pikachu." He said. I turned to face them as I started speaking.

"Well, I guess I'm just special." I chuckled. I was worried because I think they were now onto me not being a Pokémon. Then, Alakazam started speaking to me.

"......I sensed it when we first met... Perhaps... You aren't a Pokémon, are you?" He asked, eyeing me curiously. I knew he knew my secret now, but Stephanie started speaking before I had a chance to respond.

"Wow! How can you tell that?! But you're right. Daniel isn't a Pokémon. Daniel is a human." She exclaimed surprisingly. I hoped I wasn't in trouble now. I saw them all eye me curiously as they started speaking.

"What?!" Shiftry asked.

"A human?!" Charizard asked.

"Is that possible? Can something like that happen?" Tyranitar asked.

"Daniel doesn't understand very much, either. Daniel woke up one morning here as a Pokémon... ...And doesn't remember anything about being a human." Stephanie explained to Alakazam's team. Then, she must've had an idea as she started speaking again. "Oh, wait! Lombre said something in the square! He said Alakazam knows everything! Alakazam, could you figure out why Daniel became a Pokémon?" She asked. I wondered if maybe he knew, but I thought maybe even a Pokémon who's memorized everything that's happened in the world wouldn't know something like how I became a Pokémon.

"......No... I can't determine that." Alakazam replied sadly. I noticed Stephanie was looking sad as she started speaking again.

"Oh... I thought you would know..." She said.

"However... There is a way for unveiling the truth." Alakazam said, which made Stephanie cheer up.

"Oh, really? How?" She asked, with that sparkle in her eyes that I loved about her.

"Make way to the Hill of the Ancients. There, you will find a Pokémon that stares into the sun all day... A Pokémon who is said to see into the future. Xatu is his name. He should shed light on your puzzling friend." Alakazam replied. I saw Stephanie start to smile as she started speaking.

"OK! So we should go see Xatu." She said. Then, she turned to face me and I turned to face her. "Daniel, let's go! Off to the Hill of the Ancients! We can't waste any time! Let's go back quick!" She exclaimed. Then, she turned to face Shiftry as she started speaking again. "Shiftry, you too. Let's hurry back." She said. Shiftry turned to face her as he started speaking.

"Uh... Yeah... I guess we should..." He said. Then, my teammates and Shiftry started walking off while I was in complete shock at what had just happened. Someone other than Stephanie had learned the truth about me and they weren't upset that I was in their world? I was also curious who this Xatu was and what he looked like. However, Stephanie's voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"Daniel!" She exclaimed. I turned to face her as she started speaking again. "Don't just stand there. Let's go home." She said, smiling at me.

"Yeah, let's go home." I said, smiling back at her. We started walking, leaving Mt. Thunder and Alakazam's team behind us. However, they started speaking once we were out of sight.

"Alakazam. I know you. I don't think you're completely ignorant about this. ...... You know something, don't you?" Charizard asked.

"There is something that concerns me. But it should go unspoken for now. ...For their sake..." Alakazam replied.

And another chapter is complete. As for this, I know it seems like an odd place to end it, but I decided to split it up as I said. Don't worry, you'll see the next piece soon.

Well, on an unrelated note, I apologize as I could have made this chapter better. I just felt that it seemed good enough to me, though I know that it may not be the same to all of you. But, if someone enjoyed it, then I'll be happy.

Thank you for reading,
Daniel, the Tinkler

So Daniel and Stephanie aren't given the chance to make up and be good friends and maybe more, we don't get to see Xatu, and we don't get to find out what Alakazam and his team is worried about, but you are going to end the story on a hanging note that doesn't happen? You are a great writer and a few years has passed since you posted this story. I am sure you can write a great ending for this story. Please finish it or at least add another chapter to it please.

There is also a lot of great things in the description that I would have love to read that didn't get to see the light of day. Could you please change you mind and continue it or let someone continue it on your behalf please.
