Episode 15 - Night Time Showdown

I have failed.

There was a time in my life where I have sworn to always protect Sydney since she was the youngest of the litter, but I was hopeless to stop the inevitable, Sydney never had a chance without her Anriu abilities, I realize that now but it is still too late to do anything about it.

All we could do was move on, we couldn't waste our time trying to find Dr. Kenshon or Taylor for there was no way they could have survived but at least we put Sydney to rest under ground. We were all silent when I lay her in the hole Kuimon dug up, "Good night Sydney... I'll see you in the afterlife..." I whispered as I signaled for Kuimon to cover the hole once again. It was the only way we could let her go respectably for we couldn't just leave her there where her body's remaining meat could have easily been mutilated by any wild Pokemon in the area.

We advanced near the roadside, an area we couldn't be spotted by any PEF mountainside police. Kuimon and Sparks decided to move on ahead for I was slowing them down because I now realize that I was in war with the very image of myself. This is the first time I have ever made a promise to protect someone and failed and all of this was a huge blow to my mind. I would occasionally slow down to wipe my eyes or I would just collapse out of nowhere.

As I walked with my neck bending down and staring at the floor, Kuimon and Sparks entrusted Litira to get me back in a good mood again before I continued and so she tried.

Her words were encouraging, yes they were, but it wasn't passing through my mind, in my head her words were just words and nothing more, they could not lift the guilt that was weighing down against my heart.

I walked up to a large tree, a few feet away from the road with Litira following me, "Please Jherek... nobody can really live up to all of their promises... it is just the way we are..." she said as she scooted up closer to me and pushed her paws down on my shoulder forcing me to sit down.

"It hurts me to see you like this Jherek... it really does... I don't want you to feel this way" Litira started, "It's truly heartbreaking to see the ones you love go through this..."

I finally looked her in the eyes, her eyes were beginning to soak up and shine brightly against the moonlight. I couldn't help but to hug her tightly.

"Don't worry about me..." I whispered in her ear.

She finally hooked her arms against my waist and squeezed tightly, once again burying her face in my furry chest. I looked down on her and she looked up, we were closing in to kiss each other again when something collided with the tree we were right next to and exploded in our faces.

We both rolled against the ground, black marks all over me and Litira when we finally halted to a stop.

"Did I just break apart a lovely moment...?" a familiar voice echoed from an unknown location, I attempted to find this person but he was now shrouded in the mist of the night, "I am sorry... I'll be more careful next time..."

"No... it can't be..." Litira and I both whispered, a rain drop splattered on the tip of my nose as I looked up, dark clouds were forming above us, it was like the world knew when evil came to a location for Lucifer had found us.

"Lucifer..."

He stood there quietly, his appearance unchanged from our last encounter. A short breeze blew past us, a few leaves flying past as well.

"Yes... you ran from me with Sydney Kuhn in your arms, but apparently I was too late to retrieve her before she ultimately died... so I have come for... her" Lucifer explained as he pointed at Litira.

"Yes... Lucifer... has my duty come once more?" Litira whispered.

"What, Litira what did you say?!" I yelled, devastated that she responded so cooperatively to Lucifer, but before she had the chance to respond Lucifer did it for her, "Yes... she was a full-fledged Dark Lord, one of the highest ranks and one of our most powerful Anriu Dark Lords too, and now that Sydney Kuhn is dead we have enough space in our Cluster home to support Litira Anoriach... my fair sister..."

Litira rose from the ground and approached Lucifer, her eyes shut tight as she got closer and closer.

"Litira... how could you?!" I yelled as I got up and charged her before she got to Lucifer. She screamed as I lunged towards her rammed my paws against her and took her to the floor, pushing them down against her neck and suffocating her.

"All this time you were lying to me?! Well I have had enough of this!"

I pushed harder against her neck, it seemed like she was trying to tell me something but she was only able to gasp it out, "S-s-stop!" but I only pushed harder and harder, forcing tears out of Litira's eyes.

Lucifer struck me with the same red lightning from before, the very same he used at Rustboro except this ability was used without the shield protecting him.

This caused me to fly towards the road and roll across it, scratching up my knees and elbows, but I was hurt drastically in the mental side, the pain of scraping my elbows and knees against the road was just barely even a pin going inside of my paw compared to the pain of knowing Litira has betrayed me and all of the Elite Force... and all of Pokemon kind.

I heard her gasping for breath as she rolled over and began coughing violently. Tears began to escape my eyes, I knew I had hurt her but now I did not know if I cared anymore. I was betrayed by the one female I really trusted with all of my heart, the only female I've ever trusted with all of my heart, I didn't even trust my sister as much as I trusted Litira.

I arose from the cement and stood there, my arms out exposing my chest as lightning struck from the heavens, a light flash brightened everything up in the area, "If you are really part of the Anriu... strike me down now!" I yelled.

I did not want to accept what seemed to be the inevitable but I did not want to believe Litira was one with the Anriu.

Lightning stuck from above once more, a storm was beginning. Rain began to shower me and everything else around me, everyone's fur was soaked in a matter of seconds.

Litira gasped and backed away a few steps for I could tell she did not believe what she was hearing.

"Why... are you going so far for Litira...?" Lucifer asked.

Knowing how evil Lucifer was, he most likely did not understand the pain of losing one you trust, either that or it is just the way his mind works, one for all and all for one.

"Because I am not going to believe Litira is in the Anriu, she is not like this, I won't believe it!!"

"... Is that so... how sweet... but Litira is a Dark Lord through and through... strike him down now and prove him wrong!" Lucifer ordered.

Litira began to charge up red electricity in her paws obediently, no emotion in her face as she stared up at me with murder in her eyes as her fur turned from a dark blue to complete black, her red left ear and her feather-like tails barely affected by the dark red that was added to its color.

I was so soaked no one could even tell how much I was crying, I shut my eyes when I heard the electricity fire from her paws, a red light coming straight for me by the look of it.

"She... I... I was wrong..."

"Aagh!" Lucifer screamed in agony.

"What...?"

I opened my eyes to see that Litira had struck Lucifer with her lightning, her right arm pointing towards him as steam arose from his body which lay on the ground like a decomposing corpse. I gasped and stared at both of them for this was such a turn of events my brain couldn't even comprehend what just happened.

"What... what are you doing Litira...?" Lucifer asked in devastation and surprise that he was struck by her attack. He slowly got back up and stared at her, the burnt half of his face steaming, she had burned that part of his face even more.

"Grr... you selfish bitch... what have you done?!" he yelled.

"Lucifer... I don't want you to be evil any longer, I want you to join us and fight for what is right!" Litira pleaded as she lowered her arm finally.

"Don't speak like that! You were always my sister... if you say such things we cannot be together again, you will be my enemy!"

Lucifer was now ripping out his fur. His eyes resembled one of a maniac, he was having a difficult time dealing with this.

"Please Lucifer..."

"No, if you think like this... you mean nothing to me, you hear me, nothing!!"

Lucifer's Third Eye grew two times its size as he lifted his right paw and there revealed another eye, a Fourth Eye.

A Fourth Eye...?

What did this mean, how many stages are there to this Anriu ability?

The same red lightning Litira concocted appeared in his paws and charged up even more drastically than Litira's, "If this Zangoose is what keeps you away from the Anriu, I will annihilate him!!" he fired his lightning towards me, but all I could do was watch as it approached me.

"Reemakiole, toroshinima, ishuukaraii... The Anriu Thunderbolt!" Litira yelled as she jumped in front of me and fought lightning with lightning, trying to push back Lucifer's attack with her own.

I saw the pain in her eyes, her power did not match Lucifer's so she must have been having an incredibly difficult time trying to push back his attack.

Lucifer yelled in frustration as he redirected his lightning to go around her and towards me, Litira inevitably blocked that attack as well, but she was draining all of her energy by trying to match his, she screamed and grunted, desperately trying to hold on.

"That's it!" I yelled as I attempted to move up in front of Litira and block the lightning myself, "No, Jherek! You are not yet able to use this technique, if you can't block it you will die!" Litira yelled, I backed away knowing I could not help her.

"Die!!" Lucifer yelled as he redirected all of his lightning to go straight forward once again, the power of this final strike looked unmatched. Litira knew she could not block it so quickly and before the lightning reached us, she grabbed me by the neck and squeezed tightly, "Verxaniius: The Anriu Teleportation!" she yelled, I suddenly found myself in a safe distance away from the battlefield.

With a victorious look on her face, Litira turned around and the lightning exploded in her face, smoke and dust expanding along with it.

"Litira!!" I yelled, extending my right arm towards her in a desperate attempt to save her.

Suddenly out of the smoke, Litira came flying upwards, spinning like a top throughout the air. She began to fall down to Lucifer so she lifted her right leg straight up yelling, "Twin Combination: Military Strike Formation!"

Her right leg rammed against Lucifer's left shoulder, she followed that up with kicking Lucifer's skull with her left foot, pushing him away and colliding both of her paws against his stomach one by one.

Lucifer stumbled back, "Stop... Litira!" he yelled.

Litira jumped back on the ground and ducked down like a predator stalking its prey then lunged towards Lucifer once more, her entire body moving straight forward like a torpedo.

I saw him look up to see Litira diving towards him while yelling out, "Twin Combination: Rotation Strike!"

Her head rammed into Lucifer's stomach as she began to twist around with her right paw sticking straight up, punching Lucifer in the face 7 times in a matter of 1 second.

He coughed up blood and looked back up with Litira rolling over on the floor, mud from the wet ground sticking to her fur, she lifted both of her legs up in the air as she pushed herself off of the ground with both of her paws, her legs ramming against Lucifer's face. She kicked him in the face so hard that 2 of Lucifer's fangs flew clean out of him mouth, blood from his mouth splattering all over Litira's face.

They both flew straight up so high and when they both got to the point in their fall where they went back down, she grabbed Lucifer by the neck and squeezed him tightly, suffocating him, I suddenly heard Litira scream out, "No matter if I am gone... life moves on and time heals all wounds, find a new mate... live your life!"

Those words felt like someone punching me in my heart, I was so badly stunned that only her name escaped my lips, "Litira..." I whispered as my knees hit the ground, "What... what are you doing...?"

"Tyokomuya Miraa Nunikumaii: The Anriu Suicidal Annihilation!!"

When Litira yelled that out I knew why she said what she said earlier, "No matter if I am gone..." I jumped back up and ran towards her, "Litira, don't do it!!" I yelled, moving forward so fast that my tears rolled off the sides of my face and fell to the ground.

An unnoticeable smile appeared on Litira's face as she began to glow white then finally exploded along with Lucifer. I fell back to the floor as the wind blew in my face like a typhoon.

I covered my face from the bright explosion for I just couldn't look at it, realizing the fact that Litira sacrificed herself to kill Lucifer was just too much to bear.

"Jherek, Litira!!" I heard Kuimon yelling out from the distance, he quickly moved through the bushes near the tree Lucifer struck with Sparks on his left shoulder and his staff strapped on to his back.

"What happened here?!" he yelled, Sparks jumping off of his shoulder and running over to the remaining smoke from the explosion, "Where's Litira?!" Sparks yelled, turning back towards me.

I shook my head and they both knew exactly what I meant, Kuimon stared up at the sky where the explosion occurred and remained silent, "So... she's dead... why... why is life so unpredictable?" he blankly said as we all stared off at the sky, a blast of lightning afterwards.
