Chapter 9

Ch. 9

"That is enough. If you children wish to fight do it outside. Otherwise I will call officer Jenny and have her throw the both of you in jail." Someone said. Looking out of the corner of my eye, I could see that it had been a nurse Joy. And likewise she too had her hands on her hips. At first neither one of us moved an inch. Then the big guy met my eyes and saw something he didn't like. His eyes went wide and he slowly backed off.

"Man what is up with your eyes!?"

"You had better watch your mouth next time pall. Otherwise you could insult someone who will strike you down without a second thought." The guy looked down and he saw that I had a hand on the hilt of my blade. "Do I make myself clear? Sunny." The last sentence came out almost as a growl. For you see, the reason I had my hand on my sword was the guy that I was calling sunny was clutching a small knife that I had seen earlier. "Now if you don't mind, we would both like a glass of juice. Please."

The guy looked as if he was about to wet himself. As he gave me a quick nod.

"Y...Y...Yes sir!" He said in a hurry, and dashed off towards what looked like a door to the kitchen. I let out a small breath to release my pent up tension plus my grip on my blade, then I heard several people clapping. I turned and saw that everybody within the place were clapping. A young trainer got up from his seat and came over. He was wearing a blue shirt with the sleeves colored green and black pants. He had red hair and walked like he had just finished a long hike. He walked over to me and offered his hand.

"My names Dustin. Man I can't thank you enough for standing up to that guy. He has been bad mouthing Pokemon for quite a while and beating up trainers that rub him the wrong way. So what's your name stranger?"

"The names Donovin and this little beauty here is Jenavee." As I nodded to her. Jenavee blushed. So we chatted for a while then the guy returned with two glasses of juice. After saying good-by to my new friend I sat back down at the table. I looked at my juice and pushed it aside knowing that he probably spit in the glass or something. (Not to mention, but that their was some white things floating in the glass. :P) The guy just stared at the two of us.

"Well thanks for the juice, but I don't think I would like to drink something that you serve."

"WHY YOU LITTLE SHIT!" With hardly any warning he threw a punch that connected to my left cheek and threw me out of the seat that I was in. I skidded to a stop on my back and turned to face him. I looked away for a second and spit blood and jumped to me feet.

"A sucker punch huh? Well that is the only punch that you will land, now come on." I raised my hand and motioned him to come at me and he did just that. As he ran at me and threw the next right fisted punch that would have knocked a man senseless, I simply ducked under it. Expecting to connect, his momentum carried him a good few feet before he stopped himself. By that time I was up and charging him. He turned and saw me a few feet from him and pulled his fist back again to throw another punch but I was to fast for him. I landed a punch just below the center of his rib cage.

Now this kind of punch wouldn't have affected a person that was well built but if you hit a person at just the right speed and angle, you can knock the wind right out of their lungs. The man stumbled back and I followed that punch with another that connected right above the center of his rib cage. Now anybody that has been hit here will probable agree that that place is sensitive. Not to mention buy you could also collapse a persons wind tunnel that way. The guy fell to his knees grabbing at his throat, gasping for breath.

For you see that place is almost like hitting your throat but not quite. I just looked over to him and raised my fist again and said "Game Over pall." I threw the punch and just stopped right in front of his face. The man looked like a sheet and fell to the ground unconscious. The place erupted into cheers and the nurse came over to the man and check his pulse.

"What did you do to him?"

"Don't worry nurse Joy, he is just unconscious. I merely knocked the wind out of him. He should be fine in a little while. Though sore, hopefully a little wiser." She stood back up and placed her left hand on her hip and the other pointing to the exit.

"I am going to insist that you to leave now."

"What for? He was the one that started all of this. Not to mention that, but he was the one to throw the first punch." The rest of the guys in the center all nodded and add in their two piece, but it made little difference.

"NOW!" She screamed.

"Alright nurse Joy, were leaving." I walked over to Jenavee and she turned to me raising her arms as a small child would when they wanted to be picked up by their mother or father. I picked her up to place her back on my left shoulder and then my pack on my right. Once we left the center and Jenavee tapped my head.

"I still can not believe that that guy hit you. Talk about loosing control, but you have to admit, you asked for it."

"True Jenavee, but if you know what he probably slipped into my drink then I don't think you would be so quick to judge." She nodded.

"What now?"

"Well I guess that it's time to find some work. For I don't think that the money that I have will last us very long." I stopped walking and tapped my chin.

"Well there is always battling."

"Wait a minute. Battling? But I would never put you in harms way." Jenavee smiled and rubbed my cheek.

"Your sweet but do not think me weak. I can hold my own in a battle." I thought back and remembered that even though a Ralts was a small Pokemon they were still capable of defending themselves once they knew some moves.

"Well I guess the next question would be what types of attacks do you know?"

"Well I guess the best way to tell you would be to show you." So we headed into a nearby forest and started looking around for a place for her to show me her skills. We spotted a clearing a short ways in front of us and headed into it. We walked into the center and Jenavee slid down my back and landed lightly on the ground. "I know only three attacks. Two of which I can not really show you, since they are indirect attacks."

"And the other?"

"The other is this." Jenavee tilted her head back and let out a little squeak. All of a sudden leaves started to shake on the trees then a large amount of them left the trees and headed right towards us. When they were about a few feet away they stopped and just levitated there.

"Wow now that is a lot of leaves. So tell me is that all that you can do?" She looked back to me with a stern look on her face.

"Now what is that supposed to mean?" The leaves softly dropped from their levitating position.

"Oh man I'm sorry. That's not what I meant. What I meant..."

"Man you really need to build a backbone. Otherwise I will have to use one of my other attacks on you."

"Wait a minute, I thought you said that you wouldn't use any of your other attacks on me." Just then Jenavee started to sing a song in her native tongue. Within a few moments I felt my eye lids started to get really heavy. Then I couldn't keep them open any further and fell asleep.

"So what do you think of my Sing attack?" She looked up to where I was standing only to see that I had passed out on the ground.
