Chapter 2
CHAPTER 2 LESSONS
It has been several days now since Marina joined Ash's group. Right now the group was near a lake and let there Pokémon out for some fresh air. As Dawn's Buizel made his way towards the lake, he saw Marina standing a distance away. He instantly fell head over heels in love when he saw the female Buizel just standing there. He went up to her and started to do things to try and impress her. However, Marina became very scared and ran back towards the group, leaving a very confused Buizel.
Ash looked up to see Marina running towards him. "Hey Marina, what's wrong?" Ash asked, seeing the scared look on Marina's face. Marina just pointed to the Buizel standing at the lake. "Hey Dawn, I think your Buizel was scaring Marina." Ash said. "How do you know? I mean, Marina could be saying anything. It's not like she can speak English." Dawn said. "Maybe I should teach her then." Ash said as Marina looked up at him.
Buizel had seen Marina run off towards the human named Ash. He noticed that she seemed to calm down when Ash picked her up. His eyes narrowed as Ash walked off with Marina in his arms. He knew what to do then. He would try to win Marina's heart no matter what.
Ash put Marina on a log before sitting on a rock in front of her. "So, do you want to learn how to speak English?" Ash asked. Marina nodded her head. "Well, it'll take us a while, but I think we can get you to speak English with no problem. I mean, if Meowth can talk English, then maybe you can too." Ash said. Marina looked up at Ash with a confused look. "Oh sorry, I forgot. You don't even know about Team Rocket yet." Ash said, a bit embarrassed. Marina just laughed at his expression. "Well, it will be tough, but I think we can teach you how to talk." Ash grinned.
In the bushes, Team Rocket watched as Ash began to teach Marina. "Hey look, the Twerp has gotten himself a Buizel." James said. "Well that makes two Buizel they have now" Jessie said. "We gotta capture both of them along with Pikachu for the Boss." Meowth said. "But we need a robot powerful enough to capture them. One that's resistant to water and electricity." Jessie said. "I say we contact the boss and ask for one. He could probably come up with something." James said.
Jessie and Meowth stood at a phone booth with James making the call. "What do you want?" Giovanni asked. "Um, sir, we need a robot to capture the Twerp's Pokémon we are following around. We need it to be resistant to water and electricity." James said. "Hmm, I will send you a robot that will be able to capture them." Giovanni said. "Thank you, sir. When are we going to get it?" James asked. "You will get it in a few weeks time." Giovanni said before he hung up. "Now then, what was our talk up to?" Giovanni said as he turned to a screen. "We were up to the part when we will come to earth in a while. We need the time to confuse our enemies if we are going to conquer the earth with your help." a voice said. "We will wait until you arrive." Giovanni said as the screen went blank.
It had been a few weeks since Ash had started his lessons on teaching Marina English. "So, how has it been?" Brock asked as Ash came back to the campsite. "Well, uh, not so good." Ash said as he sat down with Marina next to him. "I told you it was a waste of time." Dawn said. Ash sighed as he looked at the ground. "Marina, why don't you go and play with the other Pokémon?" Ash asked. Marina looked sad before walking away. Dawn's Buizel saw this and walked towards Marina.
Marina sighed as she looked at the ground. She suddenly heard a noise and looked over at Buizel walking over. Then in her own language, she said "What do you want?" "I'm just here to talk." Buizel said. "What do you want to talk about?" Marina asked, giving Buizel a spurious look. "Well, I want to talk about that human named Ash." Buizel said. "Then what do you want to talk about him for?" Marina said. "Well, I've noticed you've been showing signs of affection towards him. Am I correct?" Buizel asked. Marina blushed a little and said "Yeah." Buizel looked at her and said "You do know that he will never show any affection back to you." Buizel said. "Why?" Marina asked as she looked up at Buizel. "Because humans and Pokémon can only be friends at best. Humans and Pokémon can never be lovers. We have to stick to our own species." Buizel said. Marina sighed before they heard a noise and a robotic arm grabbed both of them. They both gave out cries of panic.
Ash and his friends heard the cries before they saw a large robot of a generic design walk over towards them. "Team Rocket! Give us back our Pokémon!" Ash shouted. "Never, twerp. This time, we will succeed." Jessie said as the robot's leg almost crushed him. "Fine! Aipom, I choose you!" Ash said as Aipom was released from her Poke ball. "Aipom, use Swift on the robot's arms!" Ash shouted as his Pokémon attacked the robot. "Jessie, that Twerp thinks he can save the Buizels!" James laughed. "I will save them no matter what! Got it?!" Ash said as he released Turtwig and Staravia. "Turtwig, Razor Leaf. Staravia, use Aerial Ace. Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Ash shouted as his three Pokémon attacked. "Jessie, I don't think this robot can take three attacks on the same spot!" James said as the controls began to sizzle in front of them. "Don't be stupid. Nothing can go wrong with this robot." Jessie said. Then, the arms holding both Buizels broke off. "Uh...I stand corrected." Jessie said. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt attack now!" Ash shouted. Pikachu let loose the attack causing the robot to blow up. Ash and Dawn ran over to where Marina and Buizel fell down. "Marina, are you okay?" Ash asked in concern. Getting up, Marina shocked everyone by saying "Yeah, I'm okay." She looked at everyone and said "What?" "Marina...you're speaking English!" Ash said as he hugged Marina. "Hey, a talking Buizel. Now we can come back to the boss with something special!" Jessie said as she got up from the wreckage of the robot.
"Can't you guys take a hint? You'll never get her." Ash said. "Fine, we will take them back by battling you." James said as he grabbed his Poke balls. "Fine, I accept your challenge." Ash said as he stood in front of Team Rocket. Pikachu hopped forward before Ash said "Not this time, Pikachu. I want to use Marina." Pikachu looked up at Ash with a look of disappointment. Turning around, Ash asked "Up for a battle, Marina?" "Of course I am. No one tries to steal me!" Marina said before she took her position in front of Ash.
