Forgotten Instincts
Episode 03
"Dangerous Dealing"
By Darfix

The sun begins to set behind the trees in the distance. The air begins to cool down a little, as night approaches. By now, Darfix is searching for a little place for the two of them to rest. "Something near water would be best...but also a place with decent tree cover..." he comments without turning to his female companion. Destiny nods in reply, "That seems logical to me..." she comments.

The sun now, is completely set, and darkness has fallen upon the land... Darfix sighs a little, looking over at Destiny finally, "Well...this place is almost bare of trees, but there is water, and some shrubs...perhaps you can sleep under one of those bushes, and I'll stand watch?" he suggests. Destiny only manages to frown, "Well, if you insistâ"however, I'm not very tired yet...if you'd like to do something?" she replies.

Darfix quirks a brow slightly, and cocks his head to the left, "...pardon?" he asks, perhaps, taking what she had said...wrong. Destiny also tilts her head, slightly confused at his response, "Well...we do have a small stream here, perhaps you'd like to go for a swim?" she asks, simply shruggingâ"it was just a suggestion.

Darfix blushes a little, embarrassedly, "Ohâ"heh," he pauses, deciding to cover up his embarrassment, "â"but I thought, fire types weren't fond of water...?" he half asks, and half comments.

Destiny giggles a little, shaking her head, "â"well, when water is used in the form of attack, yes, but when water is in its natural state, we can tolerate it for awhile without it being too much of a bother..." she says. "It's not very painful, despite popular beliefâ"just irritating, and in quantity, it can cause itches..." she adds.

Darfix laughs, nodding a bit, "Thanks for that biology lesson, nowâ"about that swim?" he smirks, suddenly leaping into the water, causing a fairly large splash. Destiny lifts her left forepaw, to shield her face from the water droplets heading her way. Once they hit, she looks back to him, and shakes her fur off. Darfix then surfaces, doing a doggy paddle stroke to keep afloat.

"Come on, Dest! It's not that deep!" he laughs, swimming around near the middle of the stream. Destiny nods, approaching the shore. She delicately dips one of her forepaws into the water...it really wasn't as bad as she thought; she should be able to handle this for awhile... "Alright then, here I come!"

She backs up a bit, so she can get a running start. Darfix watches excitedly, as she begins to charge full speed for the water, and dive in right next to him. Now he shields his face, and waits for her to surface. He can feel her tails brushing against the pads of his hind paws, as well as his inner thighs a littleâ"definitely not an objectable feeling. He then takes notice as her head pops up out of the water right next to him. The water had slicked up her fur, and the little tuft of fur on the top of her head, was now dripping down over the sides of her head. Several fur-rich portions of her face, were now dripping, and in quite aâ"attractive way.

Darfix is hit instantly with a moment of surprise! Not that she wasn't beautiful beforeâ"it was just, nowâ"she was wet, with the moonlight was shining off her dripping wet peltâ"truly a sight to see! Destiny only manages to giggle a little, "Darfix? What's the matter? Isâ"there something on my face?" she asks, pawing at her face a little, now paddling with only one paw. Darfix then snaps out of his daze, and shakes his head, "Ohâ"no, no! It's just," he pauses, looking away a little. He then, slowly moves his muzzle down to hers, causing her to look at him curiously. Gently, he runs his warm tongue, gently over her cheek. "...your furâ"is a little out of place..." he adds.

Destiny finds herself caught a little off guard. Slowly, she moves one of her paws to her cheek, right where he had licked...it felt, very niceâ"very passionate. She could tell, or at least she thought, there was indeed meaning behind that lick. "â"thank you," she replies softly, looking up at him, now at a loss for words.

Darfix was indeed being entwined in the moment, and he hoped she was too. He finds his muzzle drawing close to her small, vulpine maw. Gently, he rubs his nose to her own, looking her in the eyes, "...Iâ"am finding this very hard to say," he speaks softly, swallowing hard, "Butâ"I think over these months, Destiny...I have fallen for you...I would very much, like to court youâ"if you wouldn't mind?" he asks, looking quite nervous about it!

Destiny's eyes widen slightly, and her jaw drops a little, "â"youâ"want to be mates?" she asks, almost inaudibly. "No! Noâ"not unlessâ"you want..." he sighs, "Iâ"was thinking of taking it slowerâ"that is, if you want to..." he quips in a worrisome voice. Destiny looks down at the water with a bit of shock expressed on her features, "â"wowâ"Iâ"never knew, Darfix..." she says softly, though, looking less than thrilled. "I, justâ"don't know if," she starts, but shakes her head slowly, looking away now, "...I don't know that I'm ready for something like thatâ"yet..." she says. "I'm sorry..." she adds with a fitting voice, before swimming for the shallows, stepping out of the water, and shaking off. "I guessâ"I'll see you in the morning..." she replies, crawling under her bush, and curling up to sleep.

Feeling rejected, and down right below that of dirt, Darfix glances down at his reflection in the water, as he walks for the shallows. He sighs, and looks off to the side for a moment with his eyes closed... "â"what did I do wrong?" he asks himself softly...

After moments of thought, his eyes reopen, and he glances back down at his reflection in the water. He was a much larger creature than Destiny...easily the more powerful of the two. She never really seemed comfortable around males, he knew this by how she acted around those they met on their travels. Perhaps, it was his size that frightened her? He knew she trusted him more than any other male she knew, but maybe it was his sizeâ"and his darkness that drew her away? He growls a little bit, and steps out of the water, dripping wet, not bothering to shake off.

"Curse the day I became an Umbreon!" he barks suddenly, as be slowly walks a little away from Destiny. After a few moments of aimless wandering, however, he hears something in the trees above. "Umbreonâ"I could not help, but overhear you no longer wish to be an Umbreon...Hoo! Is that true?" asks the stranger. Darfix glances up, and quickly notices a Noctowl above him. "â"so what if I don't? What are you going to do? Sprinkle some pixy dust on me and I'll transform into something else?" he asks, finding this to be quite pathetic.

"Hoo! You are a hoot! However, I kid you not, nameless Umbreon...I can get you turned back into an Eevee, and you won't have to pay a thingâ"for now," the Noctowl says, positioning his head at a ninety degree angle to the right.

Darfix quirks a brow, "Darfix...now, saying that I'm interestedâ"what's the catch?" he asks, cautiously baring his teeth. Upon asking this question, however, Darfix can hear something behind himâ"he quickly turns, just in time to see the body of a Seviper wrap around his own body, holding him in a firm 'hug'. "Gah! Let GO of me!" he demands, attempting to free himself.

"Darfixâ"meet Cyanide, one of my comrades..." the Noctowl says. Cyanide flickers his tongue onto Darfix's face with a snake-like cackle. "My friendâ"speaksssss the truth...isn't that right, Yukon?" Cyanide asks, glancing up at the Noctowl.

Yukon smirks, "Hoo! Yes, very correct indeed, friend Cyanide! Nowâ"let us tell our friend here, of our proposition...shall we?" Yukon asks. "Yessssâ"indeed...though you best hurry, I am finding him veryâ"temptingâ"" Cyanide replies, still flickering his tongue onto Darfix's face.

Darfix's eyes widen upon hearing this! "Heyâ"uhâ"I don't swing that way..." he replies, gritting his teeth nervously.

"Hoo! Cut the chatter! Darfixâ"my proposition for you," he says, throwing down a small box from above. The box lands in a manner which forces the top open. Inside lies a small, blue stone.

"You're trying to trade me a rock? Uhâ"sorry guys, but I've bigger fish to fry..." Darfix says, squirming a little.

"Silence fool!" Yukon orders, "This stoneâ"hoo, hoo! This stone is capable of transforming any evolved Pokémon to their previous form! We came across it on aâ"previous mission...hoo!" he says, hooting a little more in excitement. Darfix's jaw drops, "How the hell?" he yips, totally surprised by this!

"It was designed by humans...it is a prototype to my understanding. I warn you now, Darfix...it was not designed with the Pokémon's feelings in mind. It will hurtâ"and it does have side effects, but nothing major...hoo!" Yukon tells him.

Darfix nods, "Ok, ok! What do YOU want for it?!" he asks happily, even with a horny Seviper wrapped around him.

Yukon only smirks, and turns his head completely upside down, "When we call upon you, you will do one favor for our boss, no matter what that favor isâ"do we have an accord?" the Noctowl asks.

"Are you crazy!? Of course we do!" Darfix yips, suddenly being let go by the Seviper.

"Hoo! Pleasure doing business with you, Darfixâ"" Yukon speaks, before flapping his wings, and taking off from his perchâ"heading in the same direction that Cyanide slithers.

Darfix approaches the stone when he sees they are gone. He sighs with reliefâ"his problems were solved! Slowly, he presses his forepaw down upon the stone. Almost instantly, the stone begins to glow a little. This causes Darfix to laugh slightly, "Oh, yesâ"so painful..." he cockily responds. Right after he says this, however, he feels a surge of electrical energy burst through his entire body! "ARRG!" he yelps in pain, trying to force his paw off the stone, but it was too lateâ"the electrical current was holding him to the stone. Screaming in agony, like a prisoner being subjected to the worst torture imaginable, Darfix struggles to free himself from the stone, to no avail.

Finally he collapses next to the stone, being rendered unconscious by the dissipating shock wave...
