At the same time the roaring noise echoed throughout the forest, Destiny was emerging from her parents' den. The sound causes her to jump off all four hind paws in shock, before landing hard on them a second later, her body now shaking significantly.
The ear breaking sound penetrates the burrow, forcing her sister and parents awake as well. She turns her head over her shoulders now, witnessing her parents emerging from their portion of the den. They quickly enter Yukoni's room.
Destiny knew Darfix what that sound wasâ�"and new that her lover was also out there if he was not in the den. On top of that, she knew her father would bar her from leaving the den in search of him. The moment she sees them enter Yukoni's room, she makes a very difficult decision. At the expense of her parents' concern and her own safety, she bolts out of the warren and into the woods.
