Chapter 2 - A Friend in Need
/"DADDY!!!! DON'T LEAVE!" I scream amongst my crying as my mother picks me up and takes me inside. A few days later, someone knocks on the door.
Drauth's mother opens the door and there is a man in army uniform standing there.
"Mrs. Maul?" asks the man.
"That is me yes" replies my worried mother.
"I am sorry to say this but your husband is MIA. His Jeep blew up 10 hours after leaving camp. No bodies have been found as of yet," said the man in the uniform.
My mother suddenly bursts into tears. I run up and comfort her. "It's going to be ok mum. I am leaving in a few weeks to go on my pokemon journey. I will make it my mission to look for father," I reply a little upset.
I wake up covered in sweet. 'Is everything alright Drauth?'
I was surprized that Kori was up this early. "Yeah I am alright Kori. What are you doing up this early?" I ask while I sit up and head over to the wash bowl to clean my face.
'Early? HA. The sun is nearly in the middle of the sky' replies Kori with a small giggle.
Shocked at the time I got dressed quickly and left the small cave that I had found. {Where are your pants?} comes a voice in my head. Wondering what that voice was, I tripped over Kori as she walked out of the cave. I sit up only to realise I had forgotten to put my pants on. Blushing, I went back into the cave and put them on.
"We should head off. We have much distance to travel before we stop for the night again," I say as I pick up the bag with all of the gear in it. Kori uses sand attack to kick dirt onto the fire pit to make sure that the still glowing embers don't start a fire. As soon as Blaze made sure the embers would not light, we set off at a steady pace.
{Did you have a dream about your father again Drauth?} asks Blaze in my head. I nod in his direction.
'What's that over there?' asks Kori pointing with her paw as best as she could. I hold up my Pokedex in the direction she was pointing.
>Shinx The Flash Pokemon. Its forelegs have a muscle-based system of generating electricity. Its body shines if endangered.
"Wow i have never seen a Shinx before" I remark quite loudly, "Kori why don't I try you out in battle then?"
'I would be honoured' replies Kori as she jumps out infront of the shinx ready to fight it.
As soon as the shinx notices Kori, it instantly fired a thunderbolt at her. "Dodge it and use tackle," I yell to Kori. Not knowing what I was doing as this was my first battle, Blaze was helping me. Kori did as she was told and hit the shinx right in the chest.
As soon as Kori returned to her spot, the shinx fell to it's side and fainted. I threw a spare pokeball at it at waited and watched it. After three shakes, the ball stops moving a makes a bing sound confirming I had caught the pokemon. I walked over to Kori and gave her a hug.
"You were great. I didn't know you were that strong," I say as i pick up the pokeball with my newl caught Shinx.
'I'm not. He was weak. It looked as if he had just been in a battle and fled,' Kori replied. Even though I rejoiced over my new pokemon, I still worried about my mother. It had been a week since I left home. I get out my phone and call home. Noone answered so i assumed she went to the shops.
"I will call her later," I say to Blaze as he looks at with happy eyes. "Your happy today. Who did you help today?" I ask with a very sadistic grin on my face.
{Shut up. I I I found her lying on the rocks at the nearby stream when I went to clean up,} Blaze replied in my head very abrupt tone.
Laughing, I went over to him and told him that was ok and as long as she had consented with it.
After a few hours of travelling, we came into view of Floaroma Town. Both Kori and Blaze were amazed at the wonder of the town. I wasn't so amazed as I had travelled here with my father every year to pick flowers for mum's birthday. [I have to remember to pick some for her when I return] I thought to myself. Picking Kori up, I got on Blaze's back. As soon as i was settled and Kori knew she was safe, Blaze started walking towards the town. Outside of the Floaroma Town Pokemon center, I saw a girl abusing her Buizel. "Why can you never get it right? You stupid thing. Go back and try again," yells the girl
slapping the buizel over the head. I walk over to her. "Hey that is no way to treat your buizel. You should treat it with respect," I tell her in a firm voice.
"Why don't you mind your own buisness and go rape a pidgey you piece of..."
"Sarah. Time for dinner," yells what I belive is to be her father.
"You got luckly. If you care so much for that that THING you take care of him. He is always stuffing things up," replies Sarah as she storms off releasing the buizel from her ownership.
'Bui Buizel Bui Bui' says the buizel as he runs up to me and hugs me.
'He says thank you very much for saving me from that horrible girl. She only bosses me around,' translates Kori.
"Thank-you Kor... Um Kori, your glowing," I manage to say with what little air I had left in my lungs. A few moments later Kori was no longer an eevee bt now she was a beautiful Glaceon. I manage to get the buizel to stop hugging me and pull out my pokedex.
> Glaceon The Fresh Snow Pokemon. By controlling its body heat, it can freeze the atmosphere around it to make a diamond-dust flurry.
"Wow a Glaceon. Your very beautiful," I say as I pick Kori up.
