The seven tribes
THE VAPOREON
Hailing from the southern tropics, the Vaporeon are the most relaxed of the seven tribes. They are welcoming and open, and love to throw parties in beaches and islands, to which they invite anyone around. Expert swimmers, their hunting ground is in the water, but that, by no means, means they are mediocre land fighters. The power they can achieve by using high-pressure water to attack enemies is enormous, and they have been known to, literally, crush opponents with the power of their water attacks. In battle, they are not the best physical combatants, and while easy to injure, they can take quite a beating before they go down. More often than not, they dedicate themselves to becoming expert healers, skill that comes in handy when their supremacy over others in their territory is defied and fighters result injured. Their leader, Delmar, is known for being the most partying, loose-pawed of them, but also stands as a genius marine tactician.
THE JOLTEON
Making their homes in the eastern badlands, the Jolteon endured the rule of the Luxray for decades before they decided to rebel and become independent. They are hasty and quick to act, and do not think things twice when they decide on something. They are a somewhat closed culture that decides the worth of its members with speed trials and races. The fastest is chosen to become the next leader, and has claiming rights over the female he chooses, regardless of what her opinion might be. For a long time, they have battled for control of the badlands with the Luxray and Manectric tribes, but are the lesser of the three. Because of their speed, they easily hunt almost any prey they set their sights on, and can use their electric power to fight from a distance or add extra strength to their attacks. Hammer, their leader, is narrow-minded and strict, and believes true warriors are not formed by titles, speed or training. They are formed by their loyalty to their superiors.
THE FLAREON
Strong and fierce, the Flareon are the physical superiors of the seven tribes. Hardened and toughened by their time living under the sunlight in the desert. They love spicy meals and spend most of their time sunbathing in the sand or fending off invaders. They like the sight and feel of fire and can wander around flames entirely unaffected. In battle, they take the front, and are responsible for the majority of losses most packs around their territory suffer. Standing and position in their tribe are determined entirely by the amount of casualties and deaths inflicted on their adversaries. Ancient leaders believed this was the true way to ensure highstanders were, indeed, the strongest. Their leader, Solus, is a kind-hearted, merry and honor-bound warrior who thinks kindness to be the ultimate virtue. A rare viewpoint among his species.
THE ESPEON
Living in the secluded tranquility of the Miracle Spring, the Espeon are a tribe of daydreaming wisemen and philosophers. Very closed in their culture and society, they don't take to strangers kindly. More often than not, they are found meditating or training their psychic potential. Referred to as 'hermits' by many, the Espeon prefer to think of themselves as 'group ascetics', and it is believed that earning their acceptance is an honor few have ever earned. Espeon do not hunt, but instead feed on berries that grow around their home, and are quick to react in case of an invasion, using their psychic powers to destroy opponents before they even reach them. Espeon are the only tribe to live focused in a matriarchal society, and their leader, Soul, is known to be a highly intelligent, but also quite lusty, expert mentalist.
THE UMBREON
Espeon might be wise, but Umbreon are cunning. This furtive tribe of thieves, assassins and bandits makes its home in the dark forest, almost next to the Espeon's home. Umbreon are secretive to the extreme, often invisible to the naked eye thanks to the condition of their home granting them natural camouflage. Umbreon live abiding to the old phrase "Talk to one, check your pockets." They seize every chance they get to advance in their own favor and don't hesitate to turn against strangers as long as in doing so they get a reward. Their leader is decided by a common vote, but that leader is put to the test: At any given time during his first days, someone will attempt to assassinate him. Most leaders die this way before they can achieve anything, and are replaced by the assassin, who suffers the same fate, and the one after him, and the one after him... Their current leader, Night, is renowned for being the first female leader and the one to have lasted the longest as well.
THE LEAFEON
Calm children of the land from the western badlands, the Leafeon are the most peaceful, trusting, and open (in the words of the others, stupid) of the seven tribes. They welcome any outsider, regardless of species or intent, and take him in with an hospitality that's become a legend. Leafeon don't really engage in combat, but survive, much like the Espeon, from berries. When they do fight, however, they step into the front, taking advantage of their solid, sturdy bodies to last and tire their opponents, then strike a final blow. They have no organized hierarchy apart from a single leader, chosen by birthright. Rosalie, their current leader, is a pacifist with the firm belief that someday she'll meet a strong, gallant hero that will sweep her off her paws and make her dreams come true.
THE GLACEON
Making their home in the far-off reaches of the northern tundra, the Glaceon are a somewhat admitting, but far too harsh-ruling tribe. They went to eradicate every other species in their territory save from theirs and completely seize the tundra. They are accepting and friendly, but are also known to be vengeful and vain to unhealthy limits. Their tribe is ruled by a single leader that is, much like the Leafeon's, chosen by birthright. However, not a single Glaceon has been seen in the world for 27 years, and what became of them is currently unknown.
