Part 1) Kuro Trainer Extraordinaire part 1

Kuro trainer extraordinaire Chapter 1:

"Hello viewers, I'm Kuro. Soon to be the best Pokemon trainer ever. I live in Pallet town, Kanto region." Said Kuro. "I'll be filming parts of my journey for my adoring fans across the world, for when I become famous." Kuro stops recording and puts his video camera away. He walks out of his house closely followed by his mom.

She wipes a napkin over her face. She's been crying happily for Kuro sinse he got up that morning. "O.K. Kuro, I hope to see you when you become famous! Just make sure to keep in contact with me and your father. I love you son!" She said. After a few steps Kuro turns to say his good bye's. "Thanks mom, I'll call you when I'm available!"

Kuro walks out of the driveway and heads down the road. I'd walk to if I lived down the road from a Pokemon lab... who wouldn't?

(I hope profesor Oak has some good ones today. I don't want some weak ass pokemon. I would prefer a Charmander over the others because of it's fire power. That would be handy during camp outs, and cold nights. But I don't want to be too choosy. I'd setle for almost anything.)

Kuro heads up the path to prof. Oak's lab. There's a sign on the door that reads. "Use back door please."

(The BACK door? That's not normal.)

Kuro heads around to the back of the building, stopping before the door. Putting his nose into the air making out a familiar smell.

(What the hell? Is... something burning?)

He runs around to the back of the lab. Prof Oak is running out the back door with a bag in his hand.

"Hey professor Oak I'm..." The professor ignores him, running right by.

Kuro yells, "Hey damn it, I want my pokemon!" The professor running, kinda funny right? Huffing and panting the professor answers, "Sorry no time to talk Kuro!" He runs onto a path leading to the forest. "Hey wait!" Said Kuro.

The profesor stops at a clearing with a windmill in the center of a field. Kuro catches up to the professor and pulls out his video camera. Catching his breath he asks, "Whats going on professor?" The professor answers, although out of breath. "A wild vulpix is... destroying the food preserve in the windmill. I've got a few Pokemon in this bag and a spare ball. And since your here, you can give me a hand!"

Kuro takes a step back. "Hold on a sec, I'm not a trainer yet. How am I gonna help you?" Still puzzled Kuro looks towards the field to see a small vulpix staring them down.

Before the professor could answer the vulpix comes charging at them. The professor begins digging through the bag. "I know it's in here somewhere..." Said Prof. Oak.

"Look out professor!" Kuro dives at the professor knocking him to the ground just in time to save him from a powerful tackle attack.

The poke balls in the bag, along with Kuro's camera, fall out across the field.

"Oww... that smarts!" Said Oak. "Did you have to hit me so hard?"

"It would have been worse if you got hit by the vulpix." The two stand up and face the vulpix. "So what pokemon did you bring?" Said Kuro.

"A squirtle, a bulbasar and a charmander." Oak explains. Kuro scratches at his head, puzzled. "Thats it?!"

"What do you mean that's it? It's just a vulpix, I don't need an army." Said Oak.

Hearing this really pisses off the vulpix causing it to breath fire into the air. "I think it under stood..." Kuro was cut off by the professor yelling, "Quick Kuro release one of the pokemon from the balls!" Kuro examines the balls on the ground.

(He said he brought three pokemon but thier are four balls. . .shit!) It would be easier if they were labeled.

The vulpix begins charging again, blowing fire strait at the future trainer. Kuro picks up one of the balls and throws it a few feet ahead of him. "Go!" He yells as the pokemon is released in a bright flash of red light. Kuro views the new pokemon and smiles.

"Heh. How ironic." He said.

The vulpix slides to a stop and begins growling in a somewhat high pitch tone, but enuf to get it's point across. Kuro picks up his camera and points it at the charmander he called from the ball. The professor calls out, "O.K. charmander, listen to Kuro. No time to explain." The charmander instantly nods it's head, and prepares for the first command. "Now this should be fun!" said Kuro.

Vulpix grows impatient and uses quick attack to move in closer. "Charmander, jump in the air." Said Kuro. Charmander followed his order but Vulpix copys and they both leap into the air. "What?" Said Kuro. "It's doing the same thing!" The momentum from the quick attack brought vulpix in range for a flamethrower and it shot super hot flames in a swirl of heat directly in the face of the charmander, engulfing it in a spray of flames.

The charmander landed on it's feet and slid backward. "That attack was strong. I didn't think a little vulpix could have that kind of power." Kuro didn't have time to think as the vulpix began to run towards charmander again. (O.K. it wants to play rough.) "Charmander use flame thrower!"

Charmander takes a step forward and unleashes a ball of flames at the charging vulpix, catching it by surprise. The vulpix falls forward, sliding on it's muzzle while it's legs hang high in the air, until it slides to a stop and plops flat on the ground. Kuro pumps his fist. "Yes, direct hit!" He said. The vulpix stood back up and shot a flamethrower attack at charmander.

"Quick charmander, use flamethrower again!" It did and the two attacks collided in the air, and exploded where the attacks met. The professor was busy gathering the fallen pokeballs and was cought off-guard by the blast. "Aaaaargh!" He yelled. He was hit with the shock wave but not the explosion. However charmander and vulpix weren't so lucky.

Charmander was thrown by the blast strait at Kuro, who was filming while giving camands. "Oh shit!" Said Kuro. The flying charmander smashed Kuro's camera as it flew into his face throwing him and the pokemon to the ground. Vulpix was flung into the burning windmill. It's walls weakening from the intense flames burning from within. It wouldn't be long before it calapsed in on itself.

Kuro saw the vulpix land inside. (Damn, I didn't want to to kill it!) Without thinking twice he ran stupidly toward the windmill. Profesor Oak came to as he witnessed Kuro's act of stupidity. Fire plus human flesh equals bad! "Kuro, what are you doing boy!? It's not worth your life!" Kuro turned to the professor while running.

"Pokemon are my life!" He jumped over the flames at the entrance and wildly looked around for any sign of the vulpix inside. "Hey vulpix! Where are you!" He said. There was no anwser and he soon found out why. The vulpix was knocked out near a dent in the wall. The obvious landing point after the explosion. Kuro examined the vulpix with wide eyes as he saw it bleeding slowly from one side of it's belly. (Not good! It'll bleed out at this rate!)

He picked it up and looked towards the exit. A loud craking sound is heard as the large fan to the windmill fell and blocked his only exit. (Didn't see that coming.) While he stood there, bleeding pokemon in his arms, the walls began crumbling around him. The Vulpix slowely opened it's eyes and was surprised by the site of the human in the burning windmill holding it... closely! Vulpix closed it's eyes in anger and shot a flamethrower attack at random.

Surprised by it's outburst, Kuro yelled, "What the hell?!" He saw the destruction of the flamethrower as it hit the dent in the wall, it created a hole. (Perfect!) He didn't hesitate, diving quickly through the new hole as the entire windmill imploded and crumbled to a burning pile of stone and wood.

Kuro started running toward profesor Oak. "Kuro! You must be out of your damn mind boy!" Kuro looked at the vulpix. "You can scold me later, we have to get this vulpix some help." Without another word profesor Oak returned the fainted charmander to it's ball and brought Kuro back to the lab.

Profesor Oak grabed his car keys off his desk and joined Kuro in his car. "We'll have to bandage vulpix to make sure it makes the trip." Said Oak. Kuro grabbed the first aid kit out of the glove compartment and began to spray potion and bandage the wound on the fainted vulpix. It cringed in pain from the spray. But remained unconscious. Allowing Kuro to bandage it's stomach without a fuss.

Professor Oak started the engine once Kuro was done. He drove the car out of town. He than phoned the Pokemon center to get ready for treatment. Kuro took a second to glance over at Oak. He seemed so collected and calm, like he'd done this a thousand times. But Kuro, on the other hand, was a bag of nerves. Jumping like a kangaroo at the slightest jolt of the car, fearing the worse for the injured vulpix. The car slides to a stop. They arrived at the Pokemon center. Kuro carried the vulpix inside to the front counter. Leaving Oak to turn off the car.

A chansy brought out a medium sized table on wheels. A young Nurse walked up to Kuro. "Please, put the vulpix on the cart." He complied, setting the pokemon gently on the stretcher. After Kuro put vulpix down he began coughing. "Get my equipment ready chansey." Said the nurse. "Chansey!" Replied the large pink pokemon as she ran the cart down the hall.

Professor Oak walked over to Kuro. "Do you think it'll make it professor?" Said Kuro. Professor Oak put his hand on Kuro's shoulder. "I'm sure, it'll be fine." Kuro smiled at the professor as tears ran down his face. "Huh?" Kuro's vision began to blur and his legs grew weak. He coughed violently. A new burning pain filling his throat.

"Kuro are you all right?" Before he could answer his vision faded to black and he fell to the ground. "Kuro? Kuro!" The professor shook Kuro by the shoulders hoping to make him come to. But it was no use. "Nurse Joy! Come quick!" He yelled...

Kuro wakes up and looks around the room. (Where... am I?) He examines the white walls. (Am I still in the Pokemon center?) He looks out the window near by. It's dark out. The moon giving off a faint glow from behind the clouds.

Suddenly a ripping noise is heard. He looks at a near by cart. It's covered in ripped leather straps. (Thats the cart I put vulpix on. But... where is vulpix?) He closed his eyes and tried to get up.

"You bastard!" A female voice called out into the perfectly quiet room. Kuro jumped as he rose his head to look at where the voice came from. Shutting his eyes in pain as something slams into his side. The force knocked him off the bed. "Ooof... aagh! Who the hell... did that?" He said, holding his now pain ridden ribs. He looked back up at the bed as vulpix walked into view at the edge. It opened it's mouth, "How dare you!" Yelled the pokemon.

Kuro sat on the floor surprised. "Wait a sec... this has to be a dream. Pokemon can't talk. But... this one can!?" Kuro stared at the enraged vulpix. The vulpix continued yelling at him. "How dare you touch me!" The vulpix tears from it's eyes as it jumps from the bed and rams Kuro again. He slides across the floor into the wall. Hitting it hard. "Aaaaargh!" He grunts.

Kuro looks up at the vulpix with one eye shut. "Th...this is the thanks I get...for saving your life?!" The vulpix looks at Kuro with wide eyes. His words pierce her like daggers. A pain in her side causes her to lose vision. Vulpix passes out.

Kuro looks on surprised. (It must not have fully recovered.) Kuro suddenly coughs up blood. "Damn it... my chest!" He yells, before passing out again, hitting his back against the wall behind him.

A female voice calls out, "Kuro? Kuro wake up." Kuro rolls over and opens his eyes. He slowly regains consciousness. "Vul... vulpix?" He asks the familiar voice. "No silly, it's nurse Joy" Kuro's vision returns as the nurse sets a plate of food on the table by the bed. He looked over to the cart where vulpix is. It lays there sound asleep. (So it was just a dream.) Nurse Joy walked out of the room, Professor Oak is there waiting and closes the door behind her. Kuro could hear them talking through the door.

"So how are they Ms. Joy?" Said Oak. "All they need is some rest and a little food and they'll be as good as new." Said Joy. "Oh, thank goodness." Said Oak. Nurse Joy wiped her fore head. "They gave me a little scare last night though." She said. "Huh? What happened?" He asked. "I walked in the room to check on them and I saw vulpix passed out near Kuro's bed and Kuro was on the floor near the door." She explained. Kuro's eyes opened wide after hearing this. "How do you suppose they got there, Ms. Joy?" Said Oak. She sighed. "I don't know, but it doesn't really matter now that their back in bed."

Kuro lays there in amazement. (It wasn't a dream? I really talked to a pokemon? But how?) Professor Oak entered the room with nurse Joy. "Excuse me Kuro, I want you to eat some food before I let you go." Said Joy. "Y-yes nurse." Kuro answered weakly. "How is vulpix?" He asked. "Oh, she'll be fine. She just needs to eat some food and she should regain all of her energy." (It wasn't a dream after all.)

Professor Oak approached the bed. "Kuro. You did an exellent job with charmander. This may be a bad time to ask, but how would you like to have him?" Said Oak. Kuro had almost forgot en about the fight yesterday with everything that's happened afterward. "Oh, yeah! I'll take charmander!" Said Kuro. "Than it's settled." Said Oak. "Hears your Pokedex, and some empty Pokeballs." The professor set them down on the table. Kuro picked up one of the balls. "This is awesome..." He looked at the empty pokeball in his hand. Than at the female vulpix across the room. She woke up and looked at Kuro. After exchanging a few congratulations and thank yous, Nurse Joy and Professor Oak left the room.

"So vulpix. Do you want to come with us?" Vulpix glared at Kuro. "I hate humans." She said. "Why would I want to travel with one?" Kuro was surprised at the vulpix response. "H...how are you talking?" (This human can understand me?)

The room grew silent.

"I guess that makes us complete opposites." Kuro breaks the silents, smiling. "I love pokemon, you hate humans... Maybe we need each other more than you think." He said. Vulpix growls. "I don't care what you say." She sai. "I hate you more than any other human!" Kuro looked at vulpix puzzled to know why.

"Huh, me? Why?" He asked. Vulpix was becoming more and more upset just talking to a human. "What do you mean WHY!?" She said. "Because you put those disgusting human hands on me, thats why!" Kuro got a mischievous look on his face and smiled. She humphed, noticing him staring. "Don't even look at me, turd." the vulpix threatened. Kuro looked at the pokeball in his hand. "Wow! I just realized something..." He said.

"What are you going on about human?" she asked. He examined the ball now. Swirling it around in his palm. "You don't have a choice." He said, smirking. Saying that set her off. Vulpix started growling at his answer.. "WHAT!!!" She yelled. He sighed. "Your an injured pokemon, and I'm a pokemon trainer." He explained. "You...don't...have...a...choice!" He said. She closed her eyes to slits, glaring at him and baring her teeth. "You wouldnt dare..." Kuro held the pokeball high above his head and threw it across the room. Vulpix began to struggle on the table but the leather straps held her in place. She couldn't move.

She was going to get caught and there's nothing she could do about it. She pleaded, "No wait... wait!!!" The ball hit her in the head. A red beam engulfed her and she was sucked into the ball. The ball shook side to side briefly and rested with a *Ping* noise. Kuro got out of bed and walked over to the cart. (So this is how it feals to catch your first pokemon... But, was I right for catching her against her will?) He picked up the ball and walked to a pile of his clean clothes on a chair.

He set the ball down next to the pile and removed the white hospital robe. Putting on his cleaned outfit. He picked up the fork on the plate of food and ate his fill. "Wow, thats good! I should come here more often." He said. He grabbed all of his things, his pokemon and left the room. Kuro continued down the hall to meet up with Profesor Oak.

Oak waits for him near the front desk. "Are you all set to go Kuro?"

"Yes profesor. I'll be heading out as soon as I get a new camera. All I got from the scrap heap was the film, but that's all I need. My poor camcorder will be missed." Profesor Oak laughs. "Oh yeah. I almost forgot about the camera incident." Profesor Oak and Kuro leave the poke'center and head in diferent directions. "Good luck out there Kuro." Says Oak. Kuro looks back. "T-thanks professor Oak." (He sounds like my mom. Good god, its called skill. With no skill you'd have to be lucky. Its like their underestimating me...)
