DREAMS DIE AND LOVE IS BORN
Intro
Out of the way! A Chancy Morph screamed down the hall as it was blocked with other Mons who were all watching as their star player was whisked away to the emergency room. The Mon in the stretcher crying out in pain as he cradled his shattered arm with the other. His thoughts all a blur as he recalled the last moments of the game.
The game had been like any other. Lucius the Lucario had been happy to play that day and was even smiling as he would often think of the prestige and praise his team would earn as they were about to put the other number one football team in the Pokemon league to shame out on the field. The other team, The Punishers of Porto High had been claimed as the most likely to take the Pokemon Football League trophy that year.
The game had been a dead even match throughout most of the four quarters and the clock was ticking down the last of the seconds in the game. Now or never, He thought as his dreadlocks began to shake through their holes in his helmet. SET HIKE! He yelled over the roar of the crowd. The sound of smashing padding came from both ends as both sides to try and put forth the rest of their fading strength into that final play.
With his dreadlocks vibrating he didn't need to look out to know who was where and what they were doing as he could as it all appeared in his minds eye. He watched patiently as his blockers did their best to protect him, his wide receivers run down the field, and the other teams defensive team try to push their way to stop him from making that final play. Finally, one of his wide receivers broke free of his man and was heading into open territory. Pulling back his arm he tensed one last time as he felt sweat drip down his back and snapped him back into the moment. With all of his might, he threw the ball down those 30 yards and prayed that the mon would look behind him and see the impending long bomb that was heading just before him.
He was so focused on that one man, that he hadn't seen one of the other teams line backers break free and come barreling towards him. He felt the hit, his head slamming onto the grassy turf with such force that it rattled his brain, then a searing pain as the mon thated tackled him stepped on his arm. The rest was all a blur of agonizing pain.
Time slipped forward as his brain was making it difficult to stay awake through all the drugs that the different Chancy girls worked desperately on his shattered arm. Through it all though one question remained on his mind, Would I ever be able to play again?
The day finally came when he awoke and was told the horrifying news. His arm had pins all up and down and they said that it'd be lucky for him if he ever were to be able to even hold a football in that arm again. The news was what he'd dreded the most in those moments that he was coherent enough to think, but it all had seemed so surreal until that day. The news shattered him. He'd spent his whole life for the chance to play upon the team, and now all his dreams had been whisked away in a flash.
Over the days that he spent in the hospital, he met with many of his friends from the team and though he was told the amazing news that that throw had won them the game, but though the news was a welcome blessing, he was always brought back to the reality that his dreams were taken away from him when he looked down and saw his whole arm in that cast. The days rolled by and he began to sink into a deep depression, so much so that he even began to wonder if his life would even be worth living now that his dream was dead. It came to no surprise to him when thoughts of suicide began to creep into his mind, but all that slowly too began to fade away when he met her.
Her name was Kristy and like all the other nurses in the hospital, she was a healing type pokemorph. Though unlike the others that came in and out of his room everyday, she would often stop in and actually talk with him. She didn't seem interested in the fact of what he'd done or who he would've been, she was interested in just him. As time went on, the two began to see each other more and more, even after he'd gotten out of the hospital they stayed inseparable.
After he'd graduated high school, he couldn't hold it back any longer and proposed to her. She accepted of course, and the two had kissed with big smiles on either one of their faces. Though that moment was spent in total bliss, it was not to last. As the years roled past and he'd gotten a job as the local head coach of his old high schools football team, they'd been struck with horrible news, she was infertile and couldn't bare the young that they both had been so wishing to have together.
This news broke both their hearts, but all was not for lost. It came to no surprise to him a year later that she brought up the thought of adoption. Adoption? He thought as he began to think of the possibilities and hastily agreed. Fate seemed to have a bit of fun with them as the orphanage had messed up the paperwork and they signed the adoption forms for, not a Mon like they, but a human child. So when the infant baby boy was brought into meet his new parents, they were shocked.
Though he was really against the idea, she quickly won him over to the idea and this is where his story begins.
