Stories of a Trainer: David's Tale by repede

Story Notes:

This is series number two from me, it's running along currently with my first one, you can expect this to relate to the first one too as a matter of fact. I've tried to put plenty of humor into this series so hopefully everyone will get at least a giggle from it.

Disclaimer: All characters, settings and various other things are property of their respective owners, I do not own Pokemon, if I did I probably wouldn't be caught dead here. *tear* On that note I don't really have anything to do with them, but I'd often like to, because frankly it would be fun. Any characters they don't belong to me I'll have gotten permission from their respective owners to use. (aside Pokemon, I'd hate to send the e-mail asking them to use their characters in a story such as this.) No Copyrights lawsuits plz.

Chapter 1: A shadow in the daylight.

"Well you guys think we can take Roxanne without any troubles?" A trainer enthusiastically asked sitting alone in a dimly lit room.

Skarmory, a large, iron clad bird Pokemon, stepped forward and flapped it's blade like wings, nodding it's head excitedly. "Scrrrrryyy!" It screeched out, rather excited over the up coming gym battle.

"Figures you'd be the only one positive about it Ace, what about you Napoleon?" The trainer asked, looking over at the large penguin like Empoleon standing across the room quietly. The Empoleon gave a slow but sure nod at him with it's wings folded across each other.

"...You know it wouldn't kill you to at least say something." The trainer commented, shaking his head. The Empoleon looked at him and then nodded, implying that it would die if it said something. "You're horrible..." The trainer replied, laughing under breath.

"Well what about you Luke? Hopefully you can handle a few rock types?" The trainer asked as the looked off next to the door exiting out of the room. Leaned up against the wall with it's arms crossed was a Lucario, a mostly blue and black jackal like Pokemon spare for the patch of cream-colored fur that covered his torso.

He raised his head and looked over at the trainer with a grin. "Do you really even need to ask?" The Lucario said in response, using telepathy to speak to him. "Besides it would suck if you went all the way over here from Sinnoh just to have your ass handed to you by the first gym leader."

The trainer laughed in response to that and nodded in agreement. "Well lets just hope you guys can handle it alright?" He laughed out as got up from the bed.

"Somehow David, I wouldn't put it past you." The Lucario criticized as he pushed himself forward from the wall and took a few steps forward.

"Good to see you have plenty of confidence in me Luke." The trainer, David, said as he drew a Pokeball from his belt and returned the Lucario into it. "Well, I'll see you two later." He said as he returned the Pokeball containing the Lucario to his belt and grabbing two others and holding them out, returning the Skarmory and Empoleon to them in red beams of light.

He returned the Pokeball's to his belt and slung a backpack over his shoulder, getting ready to set out for the day. He got whatever belongs he had strung out across the room together and went out the door of the room, jogging down a hallway and quickly making his way down a flight of stairs.

He immediately slowed his pace down to a walk after he was within the view of the Nurse Joy who was managing the Pokemon Center he was staying at out of habit of the constant "please no running inside the building" lines he's gotten over the years.

"Well I think I'll be checking out today Nurse Joy, here's the key." He said as he walked up to the front desk, placing the key to the room he was staying in on top of the front desk.

The Nurse Joy took it in her hand and returned it to the rack of keys to all of the rooms. "Sir, are you sure you want to check out today? The weather is--" She said before she was cut off by David.

"Nonsense! Any days a beautiful day go out traveling the great outdoors!" David cheerfully cut in with a smile. The Nurse Joy sighed and shook her head.

"Okay, just be safe out there and keep dry." The Nurse Joy said in concern.

"Thanks, I'll be sure to do just that, later Nurse Joy!" David said as he hurriedly made his way out of the front doors of the Pokemon Center into the city he was currently in, Petalburg City, a fairly quiet city nestled in the south west corner of the Hoenn region.

He looked up towards the sky and saw it beginning to fill with dark gray clouds, with the rumbling of thunder in the distance. "Yes! It's going to be a great day!" David shouted out, raising a balled fist in the air staking it, earning him a few stares from the locals as well as several trainers.

No sooner than he randomly shouted that out he took off down the road running to the route that lead out of town to the next city, Rustboro City. David had traveled here from Sinnoh region to challenge the Hoenn Pokemon League.

He had tried to challenge the Sinnoh Pokemon League but failed to reach the elite four, so he hoped he would have better luck here against the Hoenn Pokemon League now that his Pokemon were all fairly well experienced in battles now after their journeys together in Sinnoh.

David had two years of experience of Pokemon training under his belt now, his first Pokemon being a Piplup, which he named Napoleon, which was now fully a fully evolved Empoleon. His second Pokemon was rather a rare one, his Lucario named Luke, he saved him from a gang of crooks named Team Galactic who have been causing a bunch of trouble in Sinnoh as of late, they were trying to capture Luke to study the energy known as aura.

He managed to save Luke after he got in a bind with them, although Luke insisted he could have handled it, he just didn't want to admit to having his tail saved by a human. Luke didn't immediately join David after he saved him though, their paths crossed later when David and Napoleon were stronger and they had a battle, with Napoleon just managing to win against Luke.

Since then they've traveled together, Ace however wasn't caught by David, he was a gift from a friend of his, he's had him for less than a year but Ace has proven to be a valuable part of the team despite the fact he was the new guy. The one thing they all had in common was the fact they were all steel types, which was rather funny as David didn't really favor any types of Pokemon over one and other.

And for a rather long time now they've been a team of four, David didn't really feel like he needed another Pokemon yet as they've managed thus far just fine as their small team. Plus as David saw it that was probably for the best, Luke, Napoleon and Ace usually see plenty of action in battles, although it was usually against trainers as David disliked fighting wild Pokemon.

"Hey, you, kid!" An older man shouted as David ran by. David paused at looked over at him questioningly, not really recognizing him or a clue as to why he stopped him. "Be careful out there, they said the weathers going to be pretty bad and there's some crazy wild Pokemon out there that's been attacking trainers as of late." The man warned him.

"Oh thanks, I'll be careful." David said as he rushed off again, not really being concerned over the weather or a 'crazy' Pokemon. He finally hit the trail and took off out of the city, into the local forest, Petalburg Woods, which was a fairly deep forest that stood between Petalburg City and Rustboro City.

Although just a few short minutes after he ran into the forest he was hit square on he head by a drop of rain water. "Darn it couldn't you have picked a better day for this?!" He yelled up at nothing, shaking his fist at the sky while keeping his pace running.

"Ooph!" He blundered out as he tripped over a small rock that was in the trail, going air born slightly before gravity took it's course, plowing him face-first into the ground. He laid there motionless for a few moments as a sudden breeze kicked up, which was followed by more rain drops hitting him on his back.

He slowly spread his arms out and slowly pushed himself up with a rather annoyed look on his face. "Of all the bloody days it chooses to rain..." He murmured to himself as he got to his knees, the random raindrops now started to blanket the area, it was raining.

David finally got to his feet and walked over to the nearest tree, rubbing the dirt off of his face and dusting his jacket off. He learned up against the tree and sighed deeply as he watched the rain hit the ground along the path, with drops of water dripping here and there under the cover of the tree.

For the first several moments he remained motionless pretty much, then he started to tap his foot impatiently. A little while later he started to jog in place from feeling restless, David has had a reputation for being hyperactive as he usually isn't able to keep still for long periods of time without doing anything physically demanding such as running.

"Oh come on just stop raining already!" He yelled out, getting very impatient. Not more than a moment later a loud rumble of thunder rolled across the sky as the clouds passing over started to darken slightly. At that point he found this rather humorous how horrible things were going so far today, sure he knew there was going to be a little bit of bad weather but he hoped he'd be able to get a little bit further along than this before it started raining.

Although his attention went to the top of his head when felt something messing around with his hair, he felt his head and felt something sort of soft and kind of squishy, he looked up and saw a Wurmple, a cream and red colored caterpillar like Pokemon staring at him with it's large yellow eyes.

"I appreciate the help with my hair but I don't think biting it will help." David commented as he looked up at the Wurmple, it quickly swung it's self back up and climbed back up into the tree from the silk thread it was suspended from.

David laughed slightly to himself at the moment he just had, at least this day wasn't all bad, plus the wild Pokemon around these parts seemed friendly enough, almost as if there was nothing wrong here. Although he couldn't really shake the feeling he was being watched, it was probably the Wurmple but he knew it was there, it felt like whatever was watching him was hidden.

He dropped his backpack off of his shoulder down to the ground and sat down with his back leaned up against the tree and sighed softly. 'Suppose I've got no choice but to ride it out for now...hope it lifts up soon.' David thought to himself as he looked up towards the gray clouds covering the sky endlessly for as far as the eye can see.

--------------

After what seemed to be an hour of waiting the rain finally lifted, although the sound of thunder continued to echo in the distance. "Finally!" David cheered as he quickly got up, running off excitedly. Although a few minutes later he realized something.

'Crap forgot my backpack again!' He thought as he stopped and ran back to the spot he was waiting, however his backpack was moving now. He cautiously walked towards it moved, with a Pokeball in hand, ready to throw if a wild Pokemon were to jump out and attack him.

"Zig!" A two toned brown raccoon-like Pokemon yipped at him, startling the living daylights out of David as he quickly stumbled backwards, almost falling to the ground. He managed to get a look at the Pokemon as it jumped out of his bag, it was a Zigzagoon, a small fuzzy Pokemon with two shaded brown fur that was in a zigzag pattern with each other, which was befitting of it's name.

"Hey!" David exclaimed as he pointed his arm and extended a finger towards the Zigzagoon. "Not cool! You half scared me to death there! And why the heck are you going through my bag you little thief?!" He continued, rather flustered over the whole thing.

The Zigzagoon tilted it's head to the side and looked at David for a few moments. "Zig! Zag! Zigzagoon!" It barked out at him playfully as it's tail swayed, it obviously didn't really pay any heed to if David being mad or not over that.

David sighed to himself and knew the Zigzagoon was obviously ignorant of the whole situation. He walked over towards it to get his backpack, which made the Zigzagoon run off towards the nearest bush in a zigzag motion as it ran, almost as if it were drunk. "Crazy local Pokemon." David commented to himself as he shook his head and looked into his bag to see if anything was missing.

He looked for a few moments and saw everything was fairly much in order, just mixed around slightly. He zipped the backpack up and threw it over his shoulder and quickly ran back off down the path, trying to make up for lost time and to close as much distance between him and Rustboro City as possible.

The weather thankfully seemed to let up after awhile, the clouds started to break with rays of sunlight peering through them quite beautifully towards the ground. As he continued to run he noticed it was pretty quiet now despite the fact it had finished raining, which slightly worried him, maybe there was a "crazy" Pokemon around these parts after all?

After around fifteen minutes of continuous running he didn't really notice any changes in the noise around here, it was still pretty much dead quiet aside from the occasional Taillow passing by overhead. A few more minutes into his run he noticed something else, two bikes parked out next to the road with some bags next to them.

David paused and went over to take a closer look, the bags seemed to be the sort that would belong to a Pokemon trainer, upon closer examination of the bikes and the bags they seemed to have female or feminine owners. So that lead David to two conclusions, either some gay guys were out in the forest doing lord knows what, or two potentially young, beautiful, and judging by the bikes, fit girls were out in the forest, potentially in danger and in need of a hero to come rescue them.

David grinned to himself and laughed under breath, today might not be such a bad day after all! He slowly made his way into the forest off the side of the road, going deeper into the forest in search of the owners of those two bikes. He walked through the forest, avoiding from going in a circle by keeping a careful watch of his Pokénav.

After several minutes he heard the sound of running water, he got a giddy smile on his face over what this could mean, this day just might be worth all of the horrible things he's gone through up to now. He saw a the edge of the forest ahead of him and stealthily tip toed his way to it, getting up behind a tree so he couldn't be seen.

He slowly dropped his backpack down to the ground and peered around the edge of the tree, hugging it close trying not to be seen. 'YAY!' David screamed in thought as his eyes watered up at the sight in front of him, right in front of him was a river, with two beautiful young ladies completely naked in it, one taking a swim and the other washing her long, gorgeous brown hair.

Okay, sure he knew spying on two girls taking swimming around in a river was wrong, but hell, this was too good of an opportunity for any straight male to pass up! He watched them for several minutes admiring the sight before him, they were both quite fit, although they both lacked in the breast department they were still absolutely gorgeous all around.

David couldn't make out what they were talking about although he heard a few words about the weather, so apparently they were caught up in the rain storm earlier as well. He continued to watch for a few moments before getting an idea in his head, he NEEDED to get a picture...or a dozen of this!

He cautiously slipped back behind the tree and reached into his bag for his camera, being sure not to make any noise, if he was caught now then the only thing he would have is a good memory, and potentially a few broken bones depending on if they had their Pokemon with them or not. He dug around for a few moments and got it, he made sure it still have film in it and that the zoom was at a suitable distance.

He made sure the flash was off and then slowly leaned around the tree, to be once again greeted by the beautiful sight of the two naked girls. He slowly raised his arm up that was holding the camera into position and adjusted the angle slightly for the best possible pictures.

'Peeerfeeect...' He thought to himself with an evil look of satisfaction on his face, he started to take pictures of the two girls. He kept taking picture after picture, getting several really good ones while he was at it too, he was absolutely filled with glee over how well his travels in this region were going thus far for him!

'Almost done...' David said to himself in thought as he noticed the camera getting low on pictures. For a few more moments he waited for the girls to give him new and better shots, however it seemed like they were getting done with their little swim now and started to go to shore.

'Ah damn, oh well maybe I can sneak back and wait for them at their bikes to see if I can't pick one of them up or--' David thought to himself, until being launched forward from behind the tree by a large impact into his back. He flew forward out from the tree and through a bush, out into the open with the camera bouncing into the water.

The two girls looked over and saw David sprawled out on the ground and screamed. "Oh god was he watching us?!" One of them shouted. David slowly got up and shook his head, rather dazed at what just happened, he knew he got hit by something but no idea what.

"He's not going to get away with this!" The other girl shouted as she went over to a pile of clothes and grabbed a Pokeball. David looked over and realized where he was, he was knocked clear out into the open now. "Go Blastoise!" The girl shouted as she threw a Pokeball out.

"CRAP!" David shouted as he scrambled up, the Pokeball snapped open released a bright flash of light, which revealed a Blastoise standing just several yards away from David.

"Use Hydro Pump on that spineless pervert!" The girl ordered, the Blastoise complied and took aim at David with one of the cannons on it's back. David looked at the Blastoise, then at the girl who was still completely naked during this whole thing, then back at the Blastoise as he heard the roar of water coming over towards him.

"SHIT!" David yelled out as he leaped over to avoid the attack, it missed him and hit the ground roughly, David immediately recovered and got to his feet running. The Blastoise turned and took aim at him with it's other cannon, firing another high pressured burst of water at him. David heard it coming and rolled into a bush, with the attack roaring just overhead.

He quickly went out of the bush and went around to the other side of the tree there to quickly collect his bags, just then he heard the words he really didn't want to hear at that moment. "Kill that bastard!" He heard the girl say, he quickly moved out of the way knowing what was probably coming now.

Another burst of water hit tree, violently exploding through the midsection of the tree, knocking the rest of it over. David managed avoid both the attack and the falling tree thanks to the head start he got. "Well it's been fun ladies, but I've got to go, also both of your asses are equally nice!" David yelled as he ran into the forest, weaving through the trees and out of the line of sight.

He heard a loud scream in anger as he ran away, laughing rather loudly to himself, this was utterly hilarious now. He quickly got to the other side of the forest and back to the road, quickly running back down the path towards his destination for Rustboro City, laughing loudly to himself the whole time.

--------------

"Whew that was close." David said to himself, taking a break after a good half hour of constant running. He went over to the side of the path and went into the forest hide, if the girls were after him they would look along the trail and not bother to look in the forest.

He found a good spot behind a rather large tree and laid down, breathing roughly as he gazed up towards the top of the tree. 'I wonder what in the hell it was that hit me back there?' He thought to himself as he gazed up.

It obviously wasn't one of their Pokemon...was it a wild Pokemon? It had to be one with a real screwed up sense of humor to do that too him, he almost got killed back there. Well it didn't matter now he guessed, it was done and over with, at the slight loss of some pride in himself and most importantly a perfectly good camera.

He sighed and closed his eyes, keeping a ear out for the girls if they passed by, if they did he would have to be pretty careful for the rest of the day. After about a good fifteen minutes of waiting he figured it was clear and sat up, he felt a lot better now because of the free rest he got, although this did set him behind by quite a bit.

He quickly went up to his feet and brushed himself off, as he did he got that feeling as if he was being watched again, if he was being watched then this would be a rather perfect place for it, he was in a shaded forest filled with trees and low laying bushes and brush.

He shook his head and ignored it, it was probably nothing, just his nerves playing on him, he quickly turned around and ran back towards the route he was taking, but as soon as he did he heard a twig snap and some leaves shake. He quickly turned around to see if anything was there, but nothing was there.

Now he was worried, something was definitely following him. He quickly ran out of the forest and back onto the path, going back towards his destination of Rustboro City while keeping an eye on the surrounding area, whatever was following him would have to be really determined to do so if he kept his pace for a long enough time.

--------------

After a whole hour of running David stopped for a break, panting for roughly for air. "Whew, good work out." He said as he knelt over, putting his hands on his knees. He stood back up after a few moments and looked around, there was still pretty much nothing around but trees still.

'Better keep going at least...if I'm being followed still then it's best if I don't give whatever it is a break either.' He thought to himself, still having the 'being watched' feeling stuck in his spine. He calmly continued down the path, walking now as he regained his energy.

For the next several minutes he walked, not really seeing or hearing anything out of the ordinary, just now finally catching his breath finally too. He reached to his backpack and pulled a canteen off of it, he unscrewed the top of it and took a nice long swig of the water inside it.

"Zigzagoon!" David heard as he nearly choked to death on his water, spitting it out through his mouth, with some of it going into his nose as quickly looked around for what said that, not really registering the fact it was a Zigzagoon that said it.

He looked down and saw none other than that Zigzagoon from earlier looking up at him, with its tail happily wagging as it panted. David coughed a few times with an increasingly annoyed look on his face, so it was the Zigzagoon that's been stalking him this whole time?

"Damn it don't fucking sneak up on me like that! And why the hell have you been following me?!" David shouted at the Zigzagoon, with his tensions that had built up over the whole day bursting out of him now. The Zigzagoon however was unfazed by David's yelling at it and just looked up at him with a rather clueless look, ignorant of the fact David was mad.

David looked down at the Zigzagoon in half a state of disbelief over how dense it was. "You're worse than Ace..." David said as he placed a hand on his forehead and shook his head.

"Zag! Zig zag zag!" The Zigzagoon barked at him, getting up to it's feet with it's tail still happily wagging. "Zigzagoon!" It barked again, playfully spinning itself around, trying to tell David it wanted to play.

"Well I don't have a ball but I can use you as a football..." David commented, still rather miffed at it for surprising him like that. "Maybe a bowling ball..." He said to himself as he looked the Zigzagoon over. It walked over and started weaving itself through David's legs rubbing him, apparently it's taken a liking to him.

He sighed to himself and shook his head, he was a sucker for anything cute like this. "Alright, alright I get it." David sighed as he knelt down and petted the Zigzagoon. However as he petted it the Zigzagoon's attention snapped over towards the forest and it ran in the opposite direction in a panic, almost as if something was there.

David looked over towards the forest, it must have sensed something bad in there to run like that. He slowly continued down the path and kept a close eye to right side of himself, knowing almost for sure something was there now, it wouldn't have ran if nothing was there.

He took a Pokeball out into his hand and started to pick his pace up into a run, he kept running until he got to a sharp turn in the path that went to the right, which meant it would cut into the part of the forest that whatever was following him was in.

He slowed down just before the corner and cautiously stepped forward, making sure he wouldn't be caught off guard again. As he stepped forward the first thing he saw was mostly a clear path until he saw the middle of it, which had a solid, black figure sitting on the ground firmly.

Sitting there, in front of him was possibly the most perfect example of an Umbreon that he's ever personally seen. The fur covering it's slim feline figure was as black as darkest of nights, with bright, almost glowing yellow rings standing out against it's fur on it's forehead, the side of it's front legs and back thighs, as well as the ones wrapping themselves around her long ears and tail.

And of course, the only real other visible feature on the Umbreon to him was it's eyes, oh the gorgeous red eyes it had, they were almost like the most valued of rubies. He stood there for a few moments to just admire it, it was possibly the most beautiful thing he's seen today...well...perhaps not counting the two naked girls from earlier maybe.

After a few moments he shook his head and snapped out of the near trance he was in, he stepped forward towards the black feline in front of him but he was met with a growl as soon as he took his first step. "Easy, easy, I'm not going to hurt you, I'm just going to pass by." David explained as he withdrew his step, rather surprised that the Umbreon had growled at him like it did.

He stepped to the left to go around it, but as soon as he did the Umbreon mirrored his movements, it wasn't going to let him pass here. "Is there a problem?" David cautiously asked, blinking a few times at the Umbreon in front of him.

What seemed to be a laugh emerged from the Umbreon as a devious grin emerged upon its face with David's words, it found this rather humorous. It quickly stopped however and pointed its ears back, quickly changing it's body language to being threatening as it slowly stepped forward towards David, growling deeply as it drew closer to him.

'Ah crap today just keeps getting better and better.' David sarcastically thought to himself as he backed away from the Umbreon, not wanting to get in a fight. "Please just let me pass, I just need to get through here, I don't want to cause any tro--" David said before being shot at by the Umbreon, who fired a pulse of dark energy at him from its mouth.

He quickly side stepped it to the right as it flew by, hitting a tree off behind David, causing a small explosion which nearly blew the tree in half. A smile reemerged on the Umbreon's face after it saw him dodge the attack, this was going to be fun.

David looked at the Umbreon seriously and stopped backing up. "Okay I'm serious, I do NOT want to fight you, I don't care whatever problem you have against me or humans in general, I just want to pass through." He pleaded with the Umbreon, trying to get the point across that he was peaceful.

The Umbreon growled at him, rather angered now that he wasn't going to put up a fight, it started to run towards him at a fast pace, picking up speed to a nearly blinding rate shortly before it jumped up in the air to tackle David.

He however swiftly turned to his side and leaned backwards, which caused the Umbreon to completely miss him, forcing it to land a short distance away, skidding to a half on the ground before it quickly recovered and ran back around to make a second pass at David. Again it jumped up to hit him with another tackle, however he evaded it as swiftly as he did the first one.

"I said I'm not going to fight you." David repeated as the Umbreon skidded to a halt once again from the failed attack it made at him. It turned around and growled deeply at him, getting increasingly annoyed with his unwillingness to put a fight up with it. It made another charge at him, David stood there awaiting another attack to be made at him as he kept a close watch on it, reading its movements carefully.

The Umbreon didn't exactly try to attack him this time, it ran up to him and made a swipe at him, he dodged it but not completely, one of the Pokeball's on his belt got knocked loose and fell a short distance away on the ground. The Umbreon caught notice of this and took the Pokeball in it's mouth and ran a short distance away before sitting down with the Pokeball firmly within it's jaws.

David noticed it stole one of his Pokeball's and his first instinct was to try to get it back but he stopped himself before he tried to release a Pokemon, he didn't want this to turn violent, because that was exactly what the Umbreon wanted.

The Umbreon however spat the Pokeball out towards David, letting it roll on the ground towards him and took a battle ready stance with its legs spread wide, its front body lowered with its ears pointed back and the fur on its back standing on end. David took the ball up in his hand and looked at it, then the Umbreon.

"You really want me to fight you?" David asked. The Umbreon gave a loud growl in confirmation along with a nod, with its pearl white teeth now being bared as it got ready for David to throw out a Pokeball. David did, he took all three Pokeball's he had in his left hand a threw them all out in one swing.

The Umbreon's body tensed up as it saw the three Pokeball's heading towards it, he was finally going to fight her. The three Pokeball's hit the ground and bounced up into the air again, before hitting the ground again and rolling to a stop, with absolutely nothing happening.

The Umbreon blinked a few times at the Pokeball's on the ground in front of it, they weren't activated to release a Pokemon. It looked back over at David with a completely confused look on its face, wondering what the hell just happened. David smiled at the Umbreon innocently with a small laugh. "I said I'm not going to fight you." He again repeated.

The Umbreon growled loudly in frustration over this, he had to be the single dumbest human it's ever met in its whole life. "You bloody fucking idiot! Just fucking fight me you god damn hypocritical spineless pansy!" The Umbreon roared out at David in anger.

David's head bolted around at the voice he just heard, it sounded like a beautiful young ladies voice if she was really pissed off, did those girls from earlier find him now too? The Umbreon saw David's reaction and growled loudly. "Over here you fucking dolt." She snapped out at David, getting his attention back towards her.

"Did you...?" David asked, with a rather surprised expression on his face, sure he wasn't exactly new to talking Pokemon, there was Luke of course but he's a Lucario, but a talking Umbreon? It didn't make any sense.

"Do you see anyone else around here dumbass?" The Umbreon asked as it pointed its head around. "Of course it's me!" It said as it brought a paw up to it's mouth, showing him that it was indeed speaking, human words and all. "Anymore idiotic questions that need answering while we're on the subject?" She asked impatiently.

"How..." David mumbled out, rather dumbfounded by the fact he was being cussed out by what seemed to be a beautiful Umbreon with a beautiful voice that had anger management issues, which oddly reminded him of a few married couples he knew.

"I don't fucking know how, it's just way it's been since I evolved." Umbreon answered bluntly.

David took a few moments to collect his thoughts then took a breath in to say something. "So you're a girl right?" He blundered out.

The Umbreon's ears pointed back in response to that question. "Do I sound like a man? What do you want? Me to turn around and show you? Hah! I'm sure you'd like that too you fucking pervert, too bad you don't have a camera to take any pictures of that with now huh?" The Umbreon answered in response.

"Okay so you're a...wait...did you fucking knock me out from behind the tree back there?!" David snapped out, rather angered over the fact that she was the one who ruined that for him.

"Yep, I did, got a problem?" She answered proudly. "Not my fault however, you're the one who sucks so badly he can't even get a human girl to willingly undress for him, you wouldn't believe how fucking hilarious it was to watch you run away while being shot at like that, I was hoping at least one of those attacks would've hit you though." She continued with a grin growing on her face.

"You bitch! You fucking did that?! Do you have ANY idea how great those pictures were?! Freaking seriously, chances like that don't come often! Also don't you dare make any claims on whether or not I can get a human girl to undress for me willingly, it's just that it takes a lot of time that I don't have and effort that I'm not willing to give." David replied, rather over edge now over the whole her making him get caught thing.

"Got a problem? Fight me then!" She offered, batting one of the Pokeball's back over to David, wanting him to fight her. David picked up the ball and threw it, she again took stance and got ready for it. However it hit the ground again, bouncing up then rolling to a stop. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" She yelled out, angry over the fact that again, he didn't activate the ball.

"Well I don't care how much of a bitch you are, I am not going to fight you, a wild Pokemon who's desperate for a fight is something I haven't the time to waste on, now if you would please leave me alone and bug someone else who will waste their time on you." David remarked, his opinion on the matter still solid despite the fact the Umbreon caused him as much trouble as it did.

"Fucking idiot! If you don't fight me then I'll fucking kill your dumb ass!" She snapped out, with a snarl on her face now.

David shrugged in response and grinned. "Oh? You're pathetic enough to harm a human? What a shame. What's the matter, the mean old Pokemon were too strong for you and packed up and left so you can have you're little temper tantrum? My, such a poor and misguided Umbreon you are." David retorted in response.

Those words set the Umbreon off like a fuse. "You...are...so...fucking...mine..." She growled out through her teeth as her breath picked up, along with the fur on her back standing up on end again. She ran off towards David, making a jump at him which was dodged again.

She quickly shot a Dark Pulse at him as soon as she recovered, he again side stepped it, further adding to her frustration. She ran back towards him and kept a fair straight pace towards him, when she got close to him she made a particularly big jump into the air above David, catching him off guard.

She landed on David's head with one of her front paws and did sort of a hand stand on top of him until he body weight threw her forward, as soon as it did she hit David in the back of the head with a head butt and spun herself down to the ground behind him, landing on all fours as David fell forward on the ground roughly.

She turned around and laughed at his collapsed body. "Fuckin' hurts don't it?!" She excitedly asked him, rather amused by seeing David flat out on the ground like that. However her jaw almost dropped as soon as she saw David jump back up to his feet from where he was on the ground.

"Ouch be careful with that pretty little face of yours, you might give me a headache." David commented as he looked down at her innocently.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" She snapped out at him, completely pissed at how literally unfazed he was, despite taking what felt like a really good blow to the back of his head by her.

"Well now that you mention it...nothing at all, thanks for your concern!" David thanked in response, trying to get to her as best he could.

"Are you trying to make me kill you?!" The Umbreon yelled out, completely confused now at this human standing before it, he was completely unlike any other trainer she's encountered up until now.

"Ohh? So you were trying to kill me? Aw how cute, I'll tell you what, I'll stand right here and you can kill me to pieces all you want, okay sweetums?" David offered, turning around and raising his arms up.

She blinked a few times to register what he just said, he just made an offer for her to kill him? Well she didn't really care at this point, she was going to make him PAY for the crap he's been saying to her. She immediately made a run for him, jumping up at him, but at the last second he side stepped her.

"Oh no you're fucking not!" She snapped out, managing to hook David's shirt with one of her claws, causing her to snap back around due to the hold her claw had on him, sending David crashing over flat onto the ground along with her.

She quickly recovered from the fall and got on top of David's back however, digging into his back with her claws as she bared her teeth and struck down at him, getting a firm hold of the back of his neck in her mouth. She started to increase the pressure of her bite, with her bone white teeth now starting to be stained crimson with the blood escaping him.

David bit down and merely just groaned at the pain her was feeling at that back of his neck, yes, it hurt like crap but he wasn't going to make it obvious for her either. However the more he tried to resist the urge to scream out in pain the harder she bit down into his neck, until finally she couldn't bite down anymore, she had completely bitten into his skin, thankfully avoiding anything important like his spine.

She held it for a few moments as David's blood continued to drain into her mouth before she absolutely couldn't stand the taste of it anymore and let go of him, spitting out his own blood on him before she backed off of him.

David slowly got up and felt the back of his neck, feeling the damage his new "friend" had caused to him, it wasn't anything too bad thankfully, it seemed to just be a puncture wound. He reached to his bag and unzipped it, the Umbreon got itself ready, expecting him to fight back now that she hurt him.

Instead David pulled out some disinfectant spray and some bandages to cover the wound on the back over his neck up with. As he tended to his wound the Umbreon looked at him in disbelief, there was just no winning with this human.

"Why?! Why the hell don't you resist? Why in the hell don't you fight back?! Why?!" She emotionally shouted out, feeling angered, confused but at the same time sad, sad that she was doing this to something that absolutely wouldn't resist and all aside from maybe avoiding her a few times.

"Because..." David replied, picking the words he was going to say carefully now. "I don't want to give you anymore reason to hate humans, I don't know what one might have done to you, but I just hate seeing such blind hate as a result of it." He said as he put a patch on the back of his neck to absorb the blood he was bleeding.

The Umbreon rushed around and looked him in the face. "I don't fucking need your pity or concern! What's happened with me is my business, got it?!" She snapped out at him.

David looked at her straight in the eyes with a knowing look. "I know you aren't like this, deep down you're a kind hearted girl, the emotion held back behind your eyes proves it, you want to cry right now, don't you? But you can't because you don't want to seem weak, which is why you want to fight me, to prove to yourself how strong you are." David said, reading her now like a book.

The Umbreon's eyes watered in response to that as she shook her head to shake it off. "I don't need a bastard like you reading me...you humans...you bastards think you know it all don't you?! Well guess what? It's my turn now to ruin someone's life!" She shouted out, lunging forward and pinning David to the ground, biting his neck roughly, forcing down his airway so he couldn't breathe.

Although what he did, or rather didn't do completely shocked her, he wasn't even trying to push her off, he was allowing her to choke the life out of him, almost as if he was willingly giving his life to her to change her opinion on humans.

She shook it off and continued choking him, hearing his body fight with itself as he tried to breath for air, but couldn't. After a few moments of fighting with himself David finally saw the world slowly fading away, although he was pretty confident he wasn't going to die here...it felt like he definitely was going to make it through this...

--------------

Drip. David slowly opened up his eyes and felt a single drop of water land on his forehead from the now gray sky handing over him. "So the idiot's awake..." David heard an ever so familiar feminine voice say from next to him.

He slowly turned his head over and saw the same Umbreon from earlier sitting right next to him, looking down upon him with no emotion really expressed on it's face. "Why didn't you resist me?" She asked, not believing the reason he gave her earlier.

"Why should I? Because my life is of value? Perhaps, but you don't see it as of value if you want to kill me, don't you? And yet here I am now...alive..." David responded, looking back towards the sky.

The Umbreon didn't take his answer too kindly though and pressed a paw on his throat. "I can still end you anytime I want, asshole. Don't you fucking dare underestimate what I can and can't do...I just felt pity for you is all..." She said as she lifted her paw off of his throat, allowing him to breath again.

David gasped for air and tried to sit up, but he was pushed down by the Umbreon. "No you aren't going anywhere until we finish our chat." She said as she looked David in the eyes. "Now tell me honestly, why won't you resist me?" She asked again with a flick of her tail.

"Because you hate humans." David answered in response. "As I said earlier...it's unfair that your opinion on all humans is the same, there are plenty of bad ones out there, I won't argue with that, but there are good ones too. What I did was to try and push the idea that we all aren't the same." He continued, trying to push this ideals along to her.

She looked down at him and thought for a moment. 'Not all humans are bad huh?' She thought to herself as she looked at him. She then moved herself down closer to his face, right until she was an inch or so away from his face before pausing. "So I take it you're one of those fabled 'Good' humans you speak of?" She asked him in a rather seductive tone.

David blinked a few times at her before answering. "Depends, that's a matter of opinion, I would like to think of myself as one of the good ones, yes. But as you saw earlier I do have my quirks so I'm far from perfect, but then again nobody's perfect." He answered, shortly following with a sigh.

The Umbreon thought those words over before it drew it's head back. David slowly tried to get up again but was pushed back down once more by the Umbreon, apparently she wasn't done with him yet. "Are you going to let me go yet?" David asked as he looked up at her.

"No." She bluntly replied, pointing her ears back while looking down at him with a slightly angered look.

"Why is that?" David asked, wondering for what reason she was holding as her prisoner still.

"You're trespassing on my territory, do you think I'll let you off the hook that easily?" She answered him, grinning slightly with her words.

David sighed in response, she already have him a head butt to the back of the head and a bite to the back of the neck, and that wasn't even counting her nearly strangling him to death earlier. "Sit up." She ordered him firmly.

David complied and sat up, although as soon as he did he got hit in the back by her, sending him rolling forward several feet. "Get your Pokemon and get the hell out of here, the next time I see you will be the day I kill you." She coldly warned him before turning around and going into the forest.

David didn't really bother to argue and got up and collected his Pokeball's from the ground and his backpack, then slowly stumbled his way back down the trail. After he got a fair distance away he sat back down and rested, finally tending to the wound on the back of his neck properly.

'Damn...that's one crazy black fuzz ball...' David thought to himself as he wrapped a bandage around his neck, closing the bite wound and stopping any stray bleeding. He heard the ever familiar rumble of thunder off in the distance. "Damn it I can't catch a break today..." He murmured to himself as he shook his head.

He ran off down the path for the next hour before it started to wait, although even the rain didn't stop him now, he was determined to get to Rustboro City now due to all of the trouble he's had today.

--------------

"Hmm..." A tall man at the front desk inside of a Pokemon Center hummed to himself while filling out a piece of paperwork. "So is this everything?" The man asked as he passed the paper over to the Nurse Joy in charge of the Pokemon Center.

She took it in her hands and looked it over. "Yes it seems so, thank you sir." She said as she took it to the back of the Pokemon Center. As she did the man turned around and leaned up against the front desk, resting the palms of his hands on the edge of it as brought one of his legs up and rested it against the front of the desk.

He looked over across the room at the glass automated doors leading out of the Pokemon Center, it was dark and raining outside, with the occasional flash of lightning illuminating the outside, shortly followed by a rubble of thunder. He grinned to himself as he looked outside, thinking how unfortunate anyone must be if their stuck out in that mess.

His attention was caught however by a figure that was rapidly approaching the doors, no more than a second after he noticed it he saw the doors open and young man run in, it was David. He ran into the entrance of the Pokemon Center, stopping in the middle of the lobby before stopping and kneeling over with his hands on his knees, breathing roughly.

"Wow you look like crap." The man commented. David turned his head up towards him, not really able to say anything in response to that comment. The mans eyes went slightly wide as soon as he got a good look at David's face however, he recognized him. "Oh! David is that you?! I should have known! Only one trainer would have been enough of a knuckle-headed idiot to be running out in that!" The man laughed as he pointed behind David.

David huffed a few moments to himself, trying to remember where he met the man from. "You're...that...flaming giant guy!" David answered as soon as he remembered him, he knew him as a fellow trainer back in Sinnoh, he was referred too as the blazing giant there because of his imposing stature, he stood around seven feet tall, and the fact he used fire type Pokemon exclusively.

"Call me flaming one more time and I'm going to have to scrape you off the bottom of my boot." The man warned him with an annoyed look.

"The flamboyant giant?" David asked in response, trying to work on his nerves now. The man was rather annoyed now and stepped forward from the front desk towards David, who in turn tried to make a run for it but fell over after the first step.

"You okay idiot?" The man asked in concern, he noticed David's skin was rather pale, that and his clothes were quite drenched from the rain outside, along with a bandage around the back of David's neck which was dyed red.

David slowly lifted himself up and huffed for air and turned around with a faint smile on his face. "Yeah wonderful, taking a nice long run in the rain and meeting a very friendly Umbreon on the way here, I don't see how today could be much better honestly." David answered sarcastically.

"Friendly huh? So I take it he made you his bitch?" The man pointed out laughing, taking note of the bite on the back of David's neck.

David's face went into a frown at that comment. "No, it was a girl you ass." He snapped in response.

"Oh so you're checking them now? I never thought of you as that type!" The man retorted, trying to push David's buttons, quite needless to say it was working.

"No! She had a wo-- ah crap you know what? Forget it, you wouldn't believe me, so what in the hell are you doing all the way over here?" David asked, trying to change the subject to something less embarrassing.

"Way to change the subject, anyways I'm here to challenge the Pokemon League here, I take it you're here for the same reason?" The man questioned in response as he stepped back and leaned against the front desk.

"That's the plan." David answered. "So you beat Roxanne yet?" He shortly followed.

"Nah, I'll be taking it easy this time around and just enjoy myself, I'm not in any real rush unlike you." He answered, not really concerned over the timeframe in which he beat the gym leaders. David opened his mouth to say something but his attention was caught by the Nurse Joy, who was carrying out a single Pokeball with her.

"Okay Reynaldo, your Typhlosion is fully healed..." The Nurse Joy said, before getting a glimpse of David. "Sir? Are you okay?" She asked in concern after seeing David in the condition he was in.

David raised a hand up in response. "Couldn't be better! It would be lovely if I had a room though." He replied. Although his attention went over to the tall man near him after he just realized something. "Wait, Reynaldo? What the hell?" He asked, thrown off by the name.

The tall man laughed to himself in response to that question. "My names Reynaldo, but I usually have everyone call me Ray for short, because Reynaldo doesn't quite flow as well." The man answered, although he started to see a stupid smile work it's way on David's face. "Don't you even dare make any comments on my name twit, I'll really step on you." He warned David in an annoyed tone.

The Nurse Joy walked up from behind the front desk and handed Ray his Pokeball, then went over and handed David his key, as she did she noticed the pale tone of David's skin along with the bandage covering the wound on the back of David's neck. "Are you hurt? What happened?" She asked him in concern.

"Well...I got wound on the back of my neck from a wild Pokemon on the way over here and spent a good few hours straight running through the rain, but that isn't anything to be concerned about." David answered with a nervous laugh.

"You need to get some rest and warm yourself up, but tell me, which Pokemon attacked you?" The Nurse Joy asked him, she had a good idea on what Pokemon it was due to the recent reports of a wild Pokemon making attacks on trainers.

David opened his mouth to say something but he figured it would be best if he lied. "A Linoone." David bluntly answered, not wanting to give the Umbreon any extra trouble for what she was worth.

"A Linoone?" The Nurse Joy asked, rather unconvinced that it was one of those that attacked him. "Are you sure?" She asked him as she folded her arms at him and looked at him unconvinced.

"Yes, it was a Linoone." David clarified, knowing that she couldn't really doubt the answer he gave her.

"Very well, I'll go make a report on it." The Nurse Joy said as she went around behind the front desk to put the report into the computer.

Ray laughed to himself slightly as he walked over next to David. "A Linoone huh?" He asked David. "Well...you should know the last thirty-two attacks made on trainers on their way here through the Petalburg woods were made by that little lady friend of yours." He whispered to David.

David's eyes went wide at that bit of information. That was a lot of attacks for a single wild Pokemon. "And on top of that there are over fifty unconfirmed reports of it attacking trainers." Ray added. David's jaw almost dropped then, that Umbreon was going to get itself killed at this rate for being an endangerment to humans, all because it had a problem with what one human likely did to it.

David shook his head and sighed, feeling a little bit saddened by that bit of information. He turned around and walked up the stairs leading to the private rooms without a word. He felt really concerned over that Umbreon despite the fact it attacked him, even hurt him, if anything that made him even feel even more concerned over it.

He got to his room and opened the door, opening it and entering the room and turning the light on, then shutting the door behind himself and locking it. 'Well no use being worried over her now...I wish could something for the poor thing...' He thought to himself as he walked over to the bed and laid his backpack next to it.

He started to take off his clothes, taking off his shoes and socks, shortly followed by his completely soaked red and orange jacket, then a black t-shirt he wore under it. He walked over to the bathroom and turned the shower on, finally removing his cold and wet pants and tossing them out of the bathroom back to the pile of clothes next to his bed and closing the door.

He entered the shower and let the steaming hot water hit his naked form, casting out the cold of the rain from his body slowly. He let out a held breath and leaned against the shower wall and looked up, his mind still haunted by that Umbreon from earlier.

He shook his head and tried to think about something else, granted the stabbing pain in the back of his neck was making it difficult to keep his mind on anything else but that Umbreon. A little while later he exited the shower and dried himself off, then exiting from the bathroom and going over to the bed, not bothering to get a new pair of clothes on.

He retreated his wound from earlier and put a new bandage on it, from what he could tell it wasn't infected or anything which was good, it just needed to heal now. He took some pain pills and flopped over onto the bed, wrapping himself up in the blankets and quickly drifted off to sleep once he finally managed to clear his mind.

--------------

Not too long later David woke up from his slumber, with a horribly weird feeling over him now, like he was being watched. He sat up and looked around, the room was still empty aside from him. He looked over at the clock and saw what time it was, it was 3:21AM.

'Weird...' He thought to himself as he shook his head and let out a sigh. Just then without any real warning his neck started to ache terribly for almost no reason. He groaned and endured the random stroke of pain, it only lasted for a few short moments before it subsided. "Damn that Umbreon..." He murmured to himself, now freshly reminded of her.

He casted the blankets aside from himself and got up from the bed, he went over to his backpack and got a new pair of clothes and put them on, which included a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a black and blue jacket. As soon as he got dressed he went over to his bag and pulled out his Pokenav and opened it, looking at the display for any alternate routes from Rustboro City to the ferry that lead to Dewford Town, which was ever so conveniently on the other side of Petalburg Woods.

And crossing there meant he'd likely have to meet his lovely black furred friend, which was something he honestly wanted to avoid despite the fact he was concerned about her. Sure he wanted her to be okay, but she put him through hell yesterday, first getting him caught, then biting the back of his neck, then nearly killing him.

Granted he could have resisted her like she wanted, but he would have just been doing that, what she expected of him. He looked around on the Pokenav and tried to find a way around the forest the lead to the ferry. The only real alternative route that presented itself was along the coast, it would take a lot longer than if he just took the route straight through the forest.

Well he definitely wasn't going to risk meeting "her" again so he was going to take the long way around. He closed his Pokenav and returned it to his backpack. He noticed the pain in the back of his neck was pretty much gone now and figured he'd go back to sleep, tomorrow was a big day.

--------------

The next morning David was greeted by the light of the morning sun as it shined into his room. As soon as he was moved he was greeted by the pain in the back of his neck too, serving as a reminder to his lovely little friend from yesterday. "Damn her!" He shouted to himself as the pain in the back of his neck sharply spiked for no real reason before settling down.

'It's almost like she's here...' He thought to himself as he got up from the bed and walked over to his backpack, taking another pain pill to take the edge off of the wound he suffered yesterday. After he took the pills he turned on the TV and got ready to set out for the day, with his favorite activity, trying to wear himself out so he wont be hyperactive all day long.

He dropped to the floor and started counting pushups as he watched the TV, it was switched onto the Pokemon Trainer News channel, which broadcasted events both local and world wide of Pokemon contests, local tournaments and such things. Currently they were talking about some Pokemon tournament that took place in Kanto just the other day that was won with almost no contest by some trainer.

"With flawless victory after flawless victory, Zeke, the winner hailing from Lavaridge in the Hoenn region is a definite contender to keep an eye on in future tournaments or even the Pokemon League championships." The reporter said as he talked about the winner of the tournament.

'Zeke? Where have I heard that name before?' David thought to himself, that name sounded very familiar but he couldn't just place his finger on where he's heard it before. He shook his head and didn't really put too much thought into it and continued with his pushups.

After a good while of working out David jumped back up to his feet panting softly. "Well...time to get something to eat, I'm starved!" He said to himself as he went over to get his backpack, then exiting from the door. He rushed down stairs of the Pokemon Center, making sure to slow down once he got within Nurse Joys line of sight before rushing out of the door of the Pokemon Center.

Once he was out on the streets of the city he was greeted by the sun and the morning commute, Rustboro City was a very busy city, in fact it was the largest city on this side of the Hoenn region. It was the location of the Devon Corporation, which handled the production of various items and medicines, aside from that the city even has it's own school for Pokemon Trainers.

He took his Pokenav out of his backpack and snapped it open, looking over the map of the city for a restaurant that would serve both people and Pokemon. After a few minutes he found it, he looked up where it was from him and took off at in a light sprint, weaving through the crowds of people in almost a dance as he sped by.

After a fairly chaotic trek across town David made it to a small diner that was over on the edge of town where it was fairly quiet. David quickly ran up to the door and opened it, going from a run to a walk as he entered so he wouldn't get in trouble.

It was fairly empty inside aside from one other customer and the waitress. He went over and got himself a seat at a table and brought out all three of his Pokeball's, releasing them all into the room. Ace, David's Skarmory looked around excitedly for no apparent reason. "Skry? Skrrryy!" It screeched out excitedly as it smelled the ever so familiar smell of food lurking in the air.

Napoleon, David's Empoleon was hardly enthused however, he just stood next to the table David was sitting at with a constant, near emotionless stare of its face. And lastly Luke, David's Lucario pulled out a chair and sat himself down, crossing his arms together. "So we're in Rustboro City?" He questioned David as he looked over towards him.

"Oh goodness no, we're back in Sinnoh because I forgot my underware!" David joked with a loud laugh as he sat himself down across from Luke.

Luke snidely smiled to himself and laughed. "Oh they don't have any laungire stores in Hoenn?" He commented. David looked over at Luke with a mixed looked of anger and humor.

"Well...come to think of it I did see one on the way over here...unfortunately no good looking girls as far as I could tell..." David said as he thought about it to himself. "But!" he said as he raised his hand up with a single finger held up. "I did see two naked girls yesterday!" David announced cheerfully.

"Like that's anything new you pervert?" Luke noted, David has had somewhat of a history of spying on naked girls. "Speaking of which," Luke said as he noticed the bandage wrapped around David's neck. "What happened to your neck?" He asked, rather curious about how David got himself hurt this time.

"Ah...I made a new friend on the way here." David answered as his mood seemed to drop down with the mention of it.

Luke raised a brow and the answer David gave. "Oh? Seems like a good friend if it bit you on the back of the neck." Luke commented with a snide laugh.

"Shut up Luke, I don't need to making any comments on that too." David said as he shook his head. He looked over and saw the waitress come over towards his table, which was a young girl with short brown hair.

"Wow what a strong looking team you have, are you here to challenge Roxanne?" The waitress asked as she paused next to their table.

"Yep, that's the plan, just seven more flawless victories after her until we take the championship!" David happily exclaimed as he raised a balled fist up with a smile.

"Good luck then, you'll need it." She replied as she got out a notepad to take down David's order. "So can I take your order sir?" She politely asked him.

"Luck? Aha I've managed fine so far without it." David humouredly replied before he paused for a moment. "I'll take bacon and eggs I guess with some water...and these three will have the finest Pokemon food you guys serve! They need to be ready for their gym battle after all." David happily answered as he turned his head towards his Pokemon.

The waitress nodded and wrote down the order. "It'll be ready in just a little while." She said as she headed off back to the kitchen to place the order in. As she did David turned his attention off towards the other customer here.

He just noticed it was a girl, a rather beautiful one with long blonde hair, wearing a white jacket white blue pants. He couldn't quite get a good look at her face from where he was sitting though. At least until the girl turned around and noticed him looking at her. They both blinked at each other a few times, although David quickly recognized her.

"Fay?!" David shouted out in complete shock, he knew her from his hometown of Sunyshore City in Sinnoh. She blinked at him a few times and recognized him and his Pokemon.

"David?" She asked in response, yes that was definitely him. "David! It's been a long time, not since you were still after the Sinnoh Pokemon League." She said it was nearly a year since they last saw each other. "How have you been?" She asked as a smile quickly appeared on her face.

"So and so, I've had me ups and downs as of late." David answered with a nervous laugh. "It's been mostly good I guess, how about you? And why are you all the way over here from home?" He questioned her with a brow raised.

"I've been good thanks, as for why I'm here...I'm looking for an old friend of mine..." She answered as she looked down at the ground with a saddened look on her face.

David thought for a moment and then remembered something. "Oh! Your old friend Zeke right? Your friend from Lavaridge you always went on about?" David asked, now remembering where he heard that name before.

Fay looked up at him and nodded. "Yes, him." She answered in response. "Did you run into him?" She asked with a slightly hopeful look on her face.

"Well...I didn't technically run into him but...I saw him on TV, he isn't even in this region right now, I heard he was competing over in a Pokemon tournament in Kanto...uh...Viridian city I think is where it was held." David answered as he thought about it. "Yeah Viridian City." He said with a nod.

"Oh..." Fay said in response, rather dumbfounded that she came all the way over here looking for Zeke like she was only to find out he was in a different region altogether. She deeply sighed to herself and shook her head disappointedly. 'I hope you remember our promise Zeke...' She thought to herself as she turned her head away and looked down at the table, with her mind rolling over her childhood memories of him.

David noticed the rather saddened expression she had on her face. "So...are you going off to Kanto after him?" He curiously asked her, wondering if she was going to follow Zeke.

She slowly nodded in response. "Yes...I heard how it really hurt him that I moved away...I hope to make it up to him when I'm able to meet him again..." She answered before pausing for a moment, with a smile slowly returning to her face. "And then we wont ever have to be apart again." She lowly added.

'Lucky bastard...' David thought to himself as he heard the last part of what she said, this Zeke guy was definitely lucky to have a beautiful girl like her out after him like she was.

"My someone's rather envious." Luke commented as he read David's thoughts. David snapped his head over at Luke with a cold glare.

"Damn it Luke!" David snapped out at Luke with an angered tone. "What the hell did I say about doing that?!" He asked, rather annoyed with Luke reading his mind again like that.

Luke laughed to himself under breath as Fay looked over at David weirdly. "Envious?" She asked with a raised brow.

'Ah shit.' David thought to himself as he shot a "You'll pay for this" look glare at Luke, making him laugh more at this little situation he got David stuck in. "Ah...well ignore that..." David answered with a nervous laugh. "Anyways..." He said, trying to carry on the conversation.

"So are you up for a battle Mr. Envious?" Fay laughed, rather humored by Luke pointing that out like he did.

David laughed a little and looked over at Luke. "Yeah that sounds lovely, I can think of a specific Lucario who needs his tail kicked..." He said as he smiled at Luke evilly.

Luke looked at David then at Fay and let out a loud laugh. "Look she was lucky last time, this time she'll see how outclassed she is by me!" Luke exclaimed as he got up from his chair, pointing his paw at her with a look of confidence on his face.

"Still as much of a handful him as ever huh Luke? Alright we'll see how much you've improved...after breakfast of course, I don't want you blaming it on not getting a good meal in after your schooled." Fay replied with a confident smile on her face.

"Bring it." Luke growled as he sat back down in his chair and looked back at David. "She's so going to get her ass kicked this time." He murmured as he waited for their breakfast to get done.

"Well Luke lets just hope you did get "that" strong since your last fight with her." David laughed as he grinned at Luke expectantly. "Good luck Luke." He said with an ever so obvious hint of sarcasm in his voice, which made Luke growl to himself and shake his head.

--------------

"So are we ready to be reminded how to fight?" Fay asked after everyone got done with their food.

"Better damn believe it." Luke responded as he quickly got up from his chair.

David calmly stood up and returned Napoleon and Ace to their Pokeball's, he took a wallet out from his pants and paid the bill for the food. "The food was lovely!" David shouted at the waitress who was off at the other side of the dinning room . "Alright lets go to a nice quiet spot we can have a fight then." David said as he returned the wallet to his pocket and walked over towards the door.

Luke nodded and shortly followed David out, Fay slowly got up from her table and paid her bill and followed David and Luke out. As soon as she went out the door she saw Luke waiting for her just outside with his paws crossed, she looked around for David and saw him clear out in an open clearing just at right outside the city.

"He's still hyper isn't he?" Fay asked Luke with a laugh, remembering how energetic David is just now.

"You've no idea." Luke lowly replied as he shook his head. Luke calmly walked over towards where David was and was shortly followed by Fay, who trailed him by several paces.

After a few moments they reached where David was and separated from each other, with Luke going to David's side and Fay taking a spot a fair distance across from David and Luke. She reached into her jacket and pulled out a Pokeball between two of her fingers and grinned at David and Luke. "You boys ready?" She confidently asked.

Both David and Luke nodded, with Luke taking stance so he'll be quick to react. Fay activated the Pokeball in her hand and tossed it out with a spin, if flew over to the ground in front of Luke and snapped open with a bright flash. Out of the flash emerged a Scizor, a large bug and steel type Pokemon.

Luke grinned as soon as he saw it. "Ah him again, I'll enjoy this." Luke said as he got ready.

"Alright Raze, lets teach this pup a few new tricks!" Fay said as she pointed towards Luke. "Lets start this off with Brick Break!" Fay ordered the Scizor.

It nodded and ran off towards Luke blindingly, making up the distance between them with frightening speed. It went to Luke and slammed one of its claws down at him, however he swiftly side stepped it and spun around.

"Blaze kick!" David shouted out, Luke immediately followed as he spun around by raising his leg, which then suddenly became engulfed with flames before it hit the Scizor in its side, sending it flying off to in the opposite direction of the attack before it dug it's claws into the ground and skidded to a halt, with it's bright red steel like shell slightly singed black from the attack.

Luke quickly took off from where he was standing and went off after the Scizor. He ran with towards the Scizor with two of his paws to his side together, with a warm orange glow between them. The Scizor got up to it's feet and got ready with an attack to follow up against Luke's attack.

"Focus Blast!" David shouted, the glow between Luke's paws became a bright orange ball of energy after David ordered Luke to use the attack. Luke skidded to a half several yards in front of the Scizor and extended both his paws forward, shooting the ball of energy at the Scizor.

The Scizor waited until the last moment and flipped over the ball of energy flying towards it, as it was in mid air it started flapping the clear transparent wings on its back. They weren't nearly strong enough to support it's body weight in flight, it weighted a good 260 pounds because of the steel-like red and black shell that encased its entire body.

"Bug Buzz!" Fay shouted, after she did the beating of the Scizor's wings drastically increased, causing a horrid screeched noise as it did, directing it down at the Lucario below. Luke was caught in it and over whelmed by the horrid sound, dropping to his knees and yelling out in pain as the attack hit him.

"Let's see him dodge it this time, use Brick Break straight down at him!" Fay shouted as she pointed her hand out towards Luke. The Scizor stopped beating its wings and raised a claw out as it fell down towards the ground, as it fell it directed itself at Luke.

"Dodge it Luke!" David shouted, however Luke couldn't hear him now due to the disorienting ring in his ears. The Scizor swung its claw down and hit Luke square in the head with the attack, sending Luke crashing down into the ground as the Scizor landed feet first onto the ground.

"Brick Break again!" Fay ordered, confident that she had this fight in the bag now. Luke struggled up to his feet after getting hit by that last attack as he got up he saw the Scizor making a spin right in front of him. Before he could react the Scizor spun around and hit Luke in the head with the Bright Break, this one being in a gulf swing fashion, sending Luke flying up into the air.

Luke landed off next to David on the ground roughly and skidded to a halt. David looked over at Luke with a smile and waved his hand. "Woo! Go Luke! Show them how a real man gets the shit beaten out of em'!"

Luke slowly rolled over and pushed himself up to his feet, shooting a glare over at David. "Shut up." Luke bitterly said as he slowly returned to his feet. Luke wobbled slightly as he got to his feet, feeling disoriented from the Bug Buzz earlier combined with the two Brick Breaks hitting him directly in the head.

He shook his head and charged off towards the Scizor, knowing it probably wasn't a good idea to charge it directly again. Long range attacks seemed to out of the question so he was going have to attack him physically. David nodded to himself and figured as well close combat was going to be the best way to win with fight, Luke was probably the best Pokemon in hand to hand combat that he's really ever seen.

"Alright Luke, lets get this party started then, Close Combat!" David ordered, Luke maintained the fast rate of speed of which he was running at the Scizor and got right up close to it, as soon as he did he threw a punch, which the Scizor dodged, however as soon as Luke missed he followed with a kick, which hit it in the head, sending it stumbling back a few steps.

Luke immediately got himself steady and followed up with another punch, sending the Scizor stumbling a few steps to the opposite direction of the punch, only to be met with another kick, which sent him stumbling back several more steps. Luke quickly slipped around and hit the Scizor in the back with yet another punch, which made the Scizor stumble forward, as it did Luke delivered a spinning kick, sweeping it off its legs and down towards the ground.

As it fell to the ground Luke kicked it in the stomach, which caused the Scizor to bounce up into the air off of the force of Luke's kick despite the fact it weighed over twice Luke's own weight. Luke then hit the Scizor with a quick uppercut to the face, sending it flipping up while it was in mid air. Finally Luke ended the assault as he spun himself around and threw one last, forceful punch, sending it flying off back towards Fay like a rag doll.

"We're not done yet! Use Psychic!" David shouted, right after he did Luke closed his eyes and focused, as he did the Scizor stopped in mid air with strange glow wrapped itself around it. Then without warning the Scizor jerked back over towards Luke, flying at him at a high rate of speed.

"Focus Blast!" David shouted, Luke brought two of his paws to his side and gathered another ball of energy and got it ready for when the Scizor was within a suitable range to use the attack. After the Scizor got within several body lengths of Luke he then shot the ball of energy at it, this time it impacted with the Scizor, causing a large explosion which engulfed both it and Luke.

Luke jumped back over next to next to David and gasped for air, rather worn out from using powerful attacks like that in quick succession to each other like that. The Scizor flew out of the opposite side of the dust cloud, hitting the ground and skidding to a halt next to Fay.

"Are you alright Raze?" Fay asked concernedly, that last attack hit it hard. The Scizor didn't respond for a few moments, but it suddenly jumped back up to it's feet from where it was on the ground. It nodded and took a ready stance to fight. "Well...it looks like the kids have got some spunk now..." She cheerfully said, happy to see David and Luke putting up a rather nice fight now.

"Alright Raze, lets go!" She shouted as she pointed towards David and Luke. The Scizor took off running towards Luke and David again at a high rate of speed.

"Well Luke looks like they want to play now, lets show them who's boss!" David happily shouted as he raised a balled fist up in the air with a confident grin. Luke took off towards the Scizor as it in turn ran towards him.

The Scizor skidded to a halt at about half towards Luke and opened one of it's claws. "Flash Cannon!" Fay shouted out, after she did a ball of light formed on the inside of its claw. The ball of light suddenly exploded into a bright flash which engulfed Luke before he could dodge it.

The blinding white light faded and Luke stumbled around, disoriented from the bright flash of light. "Alright Raze, finish him with Hyper Beam!" Fay ordered with a grin. The Scizor opened its over claw and gathered a yellow ball of energy in it for a few moments.

"Snap out of it Luke!" David shouted, although Luke was still stumbling around, temporarily blinded from the Flash Cannon used on him. The Scizor shot a beam of energy from its claw at Luke, it quickly impacted him and caused a large explosion which shot Luke all the way into a near by tree, shaking it as he hit it, dropping a bunch of leafs before he slid down and landed on his head.

"I'm...not...going...to...loose..." Luke breathed out as he got back up to his feet slowly. Fay looked at him surprised that he was still able to continue fighting like this. David on the other hand wasn't surprised, Luke definitely wasn't going to go down without pulling out all of the stops.

Luke huffed to himself as he looked over towards David. "David...you're probably not going to like this but I'm going to cut loose on them..." He warned as panted for air.

David sighed and nodded. "Well...please be careful this time Luke, you know what would happen if you got carried away..." David replied lowly. After he did Luke nodded and brought his paws and feet together and focused for a few moments.

Fay immediately knew this was probably going to be bad, Luke is a Lucario, which meant he used aura, which had nearly boundless uses in battle for a skilled user of it. "Raze! Quickly use Brick Break!" Fay shouted, after she did the Scizor ran off towards Luke as fast as it could with a claw held out, ready to hit him.

As it ran towards Luke a soft, blue glow gathered at in his paws and his feet, increasing with every passing moment. "Close Combat!" David shouted as soon as the Scizor got within a few feet of Luke. The Scizor swung down with its claw at Luke, but just as it swung Luke quickly bolted to the left before he got out of the Scizor's line of sight.

Luke quickly returned to the Scizor in almost a blur and hit it with a punch, sending it spinning around a short distance where it was met by another blindingly fast punch as Luke again seemed to come out of nowhere with it before disappearing. No more then a second later Luke came back with another punch, sending it spinning off a few feet to the right where it was lifted off the ground by a kick from Luke as he sped by.

For the next few seconds the Scizor was literally being juggled in the air by Luke who was making passes at it, throwing punch on each pass which spun the Scizor around violently in the air, keeping it from hitting the ground. Finally after a small pause the Scizor almost hit the ground, but was slammed by Luke with a final punch to its stomach, which sent the Scizor flying off in the opposite direction, crashing through a tree before it skidded to a halt on the ground.

Luke paused there after he threw the punch, the glow around his paws faded and he dropped down to the ground on his paws and knees panting for air. It was a special ability Luke had learned through the practice of aura, he used the aura in his own body to speed up his bodies movements, strength and reflexes, the drawback however was that it used up a massive amount of aura in his body, thus causing him to feel completely exhausted after using it.

Fay looked dumbfounded by the display she just saw, that was the first time she's seen a Lucario use aura like that. "You okay Luke?" David asked as he saw Luke breathing hard after that attack.

"Couldn't be better..." Luke sarcastically responded as he gasped for air. He looked over and saw the leveled tree, he didn't see the Scizor anywhere, he must have knocked it out with that attack. Suddenly without warning another beam of energy shot out from behind the tree at Luke, hitting him dead on attack and kicking up another violent explosion.

Luke flew back into another tree and hit the ground limply, knocked out cold from that attack. David immediately rushed over and checked on Luke to see if he was okay, fortunately he was okay aside from a few bumps here and there.

As David checked Luke over the Scizor walked out of the forest, looking the worse for wear but still in fighting condition. Fay laughed to herself slightly and returned it to its Pokeball and walked over towards David.

"Well I have to admit, despite for having his tail handed to him he's still amazing." Fay commented as she walked over to check if Luke was alright.

David laughed and nodded. "Yeah, although your Scizor is pretty damn amazing to still be able to fight after that, I honestly thought Luke had him there." David said as he returned Luke to his Pokeball.

"Yeah, I thought he was in trouble too, I guess I underestimated Luke a little bit." Fay replied. David slowly got up to his feet and turned around towards her and sighed soundly.

"So I guess I'll see you whenever our paths cross again?" David asked as he looked at her.

"Yeah..." Fay said in response. "Hopefully someday soon though, I'm interested to see how well you train Luke." She added with a cheerful smile. "Well I'll be off, catch you later David." She said as she turned around and waved goodbye.

"Later." David said as he walked back to the city. 'Well looks like Luke wont be in any fighting condition for the gym battle...Napoleon will have to do.' David thought to himself as he walked into the city, making his way towards the local gym.

--------------

"Rustboro City Pokemon Gym..." David said out loud to himself as he ready the sign in front of a large building. "Leader: Roxanne..." He continued as he read the sign. "The rock-loving honors student...?" He read, half dumbfounded that they actually included a pun on the sign to the gym.

He walked up to the front door of the gym shaking his head and opened the doors. Inside it was fairly empty aside for some students from the local Pokemon trainer school over here practicing Pokemon battles in the gym and observing the gym leaders battles first hand.

David slowly walked in and looked around for the gym leader, he heard she was a fairly young girl wearing a school uniform. He saw what looked to be her talking to a class of students and figured he'd better sit down and wait for her to get done.

He sat down at a spectators bench on the side of the battle field and waited, he made sure to carefully observe the main battle field here used for gym battles, it was covered with brown dirt and had large boulders scattered around through it. The boulders were placed around just so that no long range attacks can pass through them without hitting a boulder, thus making it a small maze where long range attacks were mostly ineffective.

After several minutes of waiting the young woman who was talking to the group of students noticed David sitting over on the bench, he was obviously a trainer from the looks of him. She said something to the class of students and walked over towards David. "Hello, welcome to the Rustboro City Pokemon Gym, are you here to challenge the gym leader?" The young woman asked David as she paused next to him.

"Thank you very much, and yes, I am here to challenge the gym leader, I take that you are her?" David asked politely.

"Yes, yes I am." She answered with a nod in response. "My name is Roxanne, I am gym leader of the Rustboro City Pokemon Gym, if you defeat me you shall receive the Stone Badge and be one step closer to entering the championships." She continued.

"I plan too, lets cut to the chase and get this battle started." David said as he got up from where he was sitting, walking over to the end of the main battle field. As he walked over to his part of the field he thought carefully about which Pokemon he should use. Luke was out of the question due to the beating he took for Fay earlier.

Ace would be good choice because he could fly above the boulders as attack from above, however he probably wasn't the best choice for this. Napoleon would have trouble here as most of his attacks were long range, but a few boulders wouldn't be able to stop him if he set his mind to it.

David took position at his side of the field and drew a Pokeball out, Roxanne shortly followed by stepping to her side of the field and drawing out her Pokeball of her own. A referee took the side of the field on a platform overlooking the field to call the match. "Trainers ready?" He asked.

Both David and Roxanne gave a firm nod. "Begin!" The referee yelled as he raised both of his arms. Both Roxanne and David threw out their Pokeball's, releasing their chosen Pokemon for this fight. David decided he should Napoleon for this battle, he was ideally suited for this fight from what David personally thought. David however couldn't see what Pokemon Roxanne used due to the rocks blocking out the view of the other side of the field.

"Looks like we'll be going in blind..." David said to himself as he looked at the wall of boulders in front of him and Napoleon. "Well not like it's a problem..." He continued lowly, then a grin took to his face and he pointed his hand out. "Lets clear us some rocks!" David shouted.

Napoleon nodded and ran off towards the first boulder facing it. "Steel Wing!" David shouted, after he did a white glow formed around the bladed edges of Napoleon's wings. As soon as Napoleon got to the boulder he spun around quickly and sliced the boulder through the middle with one of his wings. The boulder seemed unfazed at first, until Napoleon kicked the upper half of it clear off with one of its legs.

The attack cut the boulder straight through. "Alright, lets keep going straight down the middle and all the way to the other side!" David confidently ordered. Napoleon complied and jumped from boulder to boulder, spinning around and hitting the boulders with its wings, slicing them part and clearing the middle of the field, straight to the other side.

However as soon as Napoleon got to the other side there was no sign of another Pokemon around. He slowly stepped back and jumped on top of one of the intact boulders, the gym leaders Pokemon was probably under ground. Napoleon cautiously scanned the surrounding ground for any sign of an attack, figuring that it had to come up sometime.

Roxanne grinned and pointed out towards him. "Rollout!" She shouted, as she did the ground rumbled, however it wasn't from what was in the ground, but rather on it. One of the boulders started rolling at a fast rate of speed towards Napoleon, it seems that all of the boulders weren't exactly boulders after all.

"Behind you, quick use Steel Wing to fend him off!" David shouted, Napoleon turned around slowly and saw a large boulder rolling at him at a high rate of speed. He fanned out both of his large wings, with the outer, blade like edges of them starting to glow.

The boulder increased its speed as it drew closer and closer to him, until it finally bounced into the air in an attempt to hit Napoleon off of the boulder he was standing upon. Napoleon waited until the boulder was just close enough, then he quickly spun around and gained some momentum to counter that of the boulders, swinging one of his bladed wings at it.

His wing impacted the rapidly spinning boulder, with a short of sparks being generated from the blade of his wing grinding against the boulder. It was a standstill for a moment, with the two attacks clashing against each other viciously, until Napoleon pushed the boulder back, sending it flying back through the air towards the ground.

It hit the ground and kept spinning to stop itself by it stopped. After it stopped a head popped out of it, followed by some clawed arms and legs, it turns out the boulder was a Golem. "Use Rollout once more!" Roxanne shouted, the Golem returned its limbs inside the sturdy, rock-like shell it had and started rolling off towards Napoleon again.

"Block it once it gets close again Napoleon." David ordered, Napoleon complied and got ready with another attack to fend off the Golem. The Golem quickly returning into the air, rapidly spinning towards Napoleon, as it did Napoleon again spun around with one of his wings to make an attack at it.

"Focus Punch!" Roxanne shouted at the last moment, catching both David and Napoleon off guard, the Golem popped out of its shell in mid air and stopped spinning, after it did it threw a punch at Napoleon, hitting him flat on the side of his head, sending him flying off to the other side of the field, rapidly spinning around in the air from the impact.

"Now!" David shouted with a confident grin, not worried that Napoleon just got hit. "Hydro Cannon!" He ordered, Napoleon positioned himself so he'd be steady while in mid air, seemingly unfazed by the attack. It then shot a large torrent of water at the Golem through the path of boulders that it cleared out earlier in the battle.

The attack impacted the Golem, sending it crashing back into the opposite wall of the gym, clear off of the battle field. "Now, freeze it with Blizzard!" David shouted, Napoleon landed and skidded to a halt after going through the air a fair distance. He drew in a long breath, holding it for a moment, then he let the breath out, shooting a vicious storm of wind and ice at the Golem.

"Get out of the way!" Roxanne shouted, the Golem slowly got up but it couldn't get up fast enough, it got caught within the storm of ice, with the water left on it from the previous attack quickly freezing and turning into solid ice. After a few seconds the attack subsided, leaving the Golem completely encased in ice.

Roxanne returned the Golem into its Pokeball, it was obviously out matched now. "Impressive." She said before putting the Pokeball away and pulling out another one. "Lets see how you handle this one." Roxanne said as she threw out the Pokeball, it flew over and hit the ground a fair distance in front of her, bouncing off and snapping open, releasing the Pokemon contained within it.

The form of an extremely large Pokemon appeared, it was a Steelix, a large snake like Pokemon that was covered in a thick, gray metal shell. It dwarfed Napoleon in size, and he was already a rather tall Pokemon, he stood at 5 feet and 7 inches, the Steelix however stood at a whopping 30 feet and 2 inches.

"Dig underground!" Roxanne shouted, the Steelix then slammed its head forward into the ground, which shook the whole floor as it impacted. The Steelix then quickly burrowed under ground. They were masters at digging due to the fact they lived usually lived over half a mile underground in the wild.

"Napoleon get up off of the ground!" David shouted, Napoleon complied and ran over to a boulder and hopped on top of it. "Now lets show them that even the earth itself will provide little protection, use Earthquake!" He confidently said, Napoleon nodded and jumped up off of the boulder, holding on of its wings in the air and fell to the ground.

Before it landed on the ground it swung the wing down into the ground, causing a large impact that shook the ground violently. The Steelix surfaced from the ground with a loud scream of pain from the attack, having a lot of damage done to it due to the fact it was underground during the mini earthquake that Napoleon generated.

"Now lets wrap this up with Hydro Cannon!" David shouted as he pointed at the now surfaced Steelix, Napoleon nodded and fired another large torrent of water at the Steelix. It quickly impacted with it, sending it sliding back several feet before it was completely knocked over by the attack, out cold from the punishment it took.

Roxanne returned it to its Pokeball and raised her arm up. "I can tell the battles already finished, its obvious any further point of continuing will result in needless defeat, you have won here today." She said, forfeiting from the match.

David smiled widely at the result, that was music to his ears, a gym leader having to forfeit against him. "Excellent work today Napoleon." David complimented as he drew out his Pokeball. "Get plenty of rest buddy." He said as he returned him into his Pokeball.

He returned the Pokeball to his pocket and walked over towards Roxanne to collect his gym badge. "I present to you the Stone badge, as the winner of this fight you won the right to carry it." Roxanne said as she presented a small, silver badge to David.

"Thank you." David said as he took the badge and put it in a small carrying case. "It was nice meeting you, I'll be leaving for the next gym now." He said as he turned around and headed for the doors leading out of the gym. As soon as he walked out of them a grin took hold of his face and he jumped up and cheered. "YES! Just seven more, seven more until that champion ship is mine!" David cheered excitedly.

Just then a sharp pain flared up on the back of his neck. "Ow!" David yelped out as he put his hand on the back of his neck. "Damn that Umbreon!" He shouted to himself, frustrated on the fact the wound on the back of his neck kept randomly reminding him of her.

"Don't let Nurse Joy hear you say that." A voice said mischievously. David looked around to see who said that, quickly spotting Ray, accompanied by his Typhlosion.

"Nice to see you too." David sarcastically responded as she shot a glare at him. "Are you here to challenge Roxanne?" He asked.

"Ahh...that icy glare...you could almost pass as one of my ex girlfriends!" Ray laughed. David opened his mouth to say something but he knew it was probably going to be something bad. "Anyways I beat her already." He said answered as he showed David a badge from this gym.

"What?!" David snapped out, surprised that Ray managed to beat her before he did. "When?" He curiously asked, still finding it hard to believe.

"This morning, I saw you take off but not towards the gym which is surprising for you to say the least, I would have thought you'd be off harassing the gym leader as soon as possible." Ray laughed.

"Go to hell Mr. Flaming Giant." David murmured in response.

"I said don't call me that you twit." Ray warned him with a glare. "Anyways are you going to rush off to Dewford to face Brawly?" Ray asked.

"Yeah, tomorrow morning anyways." David answered.

"Tomorrow?!" Ray asked, surprised by that answer. "Don't tell me you're calming down now?! What happened man?! Did you hit puberty finally and calm down?!" He asked, trying to mess with David.

"Figures you'd be the one interested to know that Mr. Flaming Giant." David replied snidely. "Anyways I just want to travel with as much daylight as I can, I hate traveling during the night. Plus I'll need the extra daylight because I wont be taking the route back through Petalburg Woods to reach the ferry." He answered.

"I swear...anyways why wont you be going on the main route?" Ray asked with a raised brow.

"Well I'd rather avoid meeting you-know-who again..." David sighed.

"Oh? A wild little Umbreon is too scary for you?" Ray laughed in response, rather humored that David was acting like this just because some Umbreon attacked him.

"Shut up." David said before he turned around and walked off. He heard Ray laughing loudly behind him as he walked towards the Pokemon Center just to further anger him. After he put some distance between him and Ray he looked at the time, it was still pretty early in the day and he had the rest of it off, what was he going to do? He figured his best bet would be to just wander around the city and sight see.

--------------

"Whew what a day!" David breathed out as he flopped over onto his bed. It was sunset now, David had pretty much gone through the town, top to bottom, this place was certainly different from anywhere he's been too in his home region of Sinnoh to say the least.

He sat himself up and turned the TV on, checking the channels for anything interesting. As usual there wasn't anything of interest on, mostly due to the horrid limit of channels they allowed in a Pokemon Center, which basically composed on the local news channel, the region news channel, the interregional news channel and various Pokemon related channels.

"Why can't they allow any 'interesting' channels in Pokemon Center's that I might actually want to watch? Damn these toned-down TV's..." David complained to himself as he flipped through the channels half annoyed.

As soon as he got finished saying that the pain in the back of his neck flared up yet again with surprisingly good timing as usual. "DAMN HER!!!" David yelled out, half angered now at the fact she bit him and half angered at the fact he lost that camera with all of those great photos in it because she thought it would be funny to ruin his good time.

During his fit of anger he just remembered something. "Oh shit I forgot to heal Luke didn't I?" He said to himself in a moment of enlightenment. He jumped off the bed and rushed over to the door, surprised that he forgot something like that.

He quickly ran out of the room and rushed down the stairs to the front desk. "Oh Nurse Joy I need you to heal one of my Pokemon for me." David said as he turned in a Pokeball at the front desk. The Nurse Joy nodded and walked over and took it from him, taking it to the back of the Pokemon Center.

David let out a sigh of relief, Luke was probably going to have his head if he found out he did that...again...but hopefully he wouldn't find out about it. "Oh if it isn't the hyperactive knuckle head again." A now very familiar voice said from across the room.

"Not now Ray..." David sighed out in realization of who's voice it was.

"Aww you don't miss me?" Ray laughed, humored by David's "leave me alone" reaction. He walked up next to David and leaned against the front desk next to him. "So how are you getting to the ferry anyways? I know you aren't going to cut through the forest are you? Lots of wild Pokemon there, and I know how you absolutely despise battling wild Pokemon." Ray asked.

"Well you can't blame me for not approving of it, how would you like it if someone came to your home and beat you up?" David replied, shaking his head.

"Probably not much, so anyways are you gonna' answer my question?" Ray again asked, looking over at David with a raised brow.

David pulled out his PokeNav and brought up the region map, after a few clicks he showed it to Ray. "I'll be heading west out of town and go straight to the coast, from there I'll travel the coast down to where the ferry is docking." He explained.

Ray whistled in response to that. "My, that's quite the detour, you must really want to avoid that little friend of yours don't you?" He said as he looked the route David had charted out over.

"You probably wouldn't blame me if you met her." David replied.

"I dunno David, if she were human it sounds like she'd make the perfect girl friend for you, she's helping to calm you right down!" Ray joked, earning a disgusted look from David.

"Well if you're just going to say crap like that then I'm going to bed." David replied as he shook his head and went for the stairs.

"Tell your lady friend I said hi if you see her again!" Ray said as he waved goodbye at David.

"Go to hell." David muttered out as he quickly went up the stairs, after he went up he heard Ray laughing again. 'Moron...' David said to himself in thought as he went back to his room for the rest of the night. He opened the door to his room and closed it behind himself as he entered, slowly making his way over to the bed before spinning around and falling back onto the bed.

He let out a sigh as he landed, closing his eyes slowly as he thought to himself about tomorrow. 'I hope tomorrow goes as smoothly as I've planned it to go...I don't need it going badly like yesterday...' He said to himself in thought, worried about running into that Umbreon again. He eventually managed to put his mind on other things and drift off to sleep for the night.

--------------

"Well off on the road again..." David said to himself as he stared off into the forest which lined the west side of Rustboro City. "...without the road of course..." He continued, there was no path through the forest here due to the fact the only thing west of Rustboro City was a large forest and the west coast of the region.

He was setting out today ready however, he had a nice full breakfast with his Pokemon at the diner earlier this morning, thankfully Luke didn't care to read his mind to find out about that little "oopsie" yesterday regarding the fact he forgot to heal him at the Pokemon Center right after the battle.

"Well better get going, that gym isn't going to get any closer now is it?" He said as he slowly stepped forward to the edge of the forest, before breaking into a run, just dodging a few trees and bushes as he entered. The inside of the forest was fairly dark and shaded, with countless beams of sunlight entering through the tree tops, illuminating the inside of the forest. The forest itself was fairly thick with trees and low laying plants covering a lot of the ground.

This hardly slowed him down however, he kept running deeper and deeper into the forest, with the occasional Pokemon jumping at him, trying to attack him. The main reason why nobody ever dares to go off the paths to cities and towns is because the places without any roads leading through them were usually rather unsafe, with wild Pokemon who avoided the paths and roads living in those areas. This forest was one such example, it was away from any of the roads or trails that trainers or any other humans went around.

"Whew! Lively bunch in here!" David shouted as he dodged an attack from one of the many wild Pokemon that inhabited the forest. "Your aims horrible!" He shouted as he continued running deeper into the forest. After a few long minutes of running he saw the edge of the forest in front of him. "Almost there!" He shouted as he ran, still being chased by the wild Pokemon.

"I'm freeee-EEE!!!" He shouted as he exited from the forest, only to arrive at the edge of a fairly large cliff leading down to the ocean. He flailed his arms around trying to keep his balance so he wouldn't fall over the edge. "Whew...that was...close..." David sighed as he regained his balance, peering over the edge of the cliff, if he fell it probably wouldn't have killed him because it wasn't a straight drop down, but it would have really hurt regardless.

"Linooooooooooone!" David heard from behind him, he looked over and saw a cream and brown lined Pokemon flying through the air at him, a Linoone. THUMP! The Linoone hit David square on in the chest, knocking him off of his feet and into the air as the Linoone bounced off him from the attack and hit the ground tail first.

No more then a second later David noticed something he really wish he hadn't have noticed, he wasn't standing on the edge of the cliff anymore. "DAAAMN THIIIS REEEGIOO--" David yelled as gravity took over and sent him flying down like a rock, hitting a lower part of the cliff on his way down, breaking some of the momentum of his fall before he started to roll down the rest of the cliff to the base of it.

After several painful seconds he came to a stop at the base of the cliff, on the soft white sand of the beach. He laid there motionless for several moments before he tried to move. "Ow..." He muttered out as he tried to get up, feeling his whole body flare up in pain in response. Thankfully enough the only thing he got out of this was a few bumps and bruises.

'Sweet irony...' He thought to himself as he stared up the cliff. 'I blame it on a Linoone...and then I get knocked off a cliff by one...' David thought, remembering that he blamed the attack that the Umbreon made on him on a Linoone. He shook his head and slowly tried to get back up again, as he did his body flared up with pain once again from the fall, however he shook off the pain and managed to sit himself up.

He let out a deep breath and rolled over to his side, getting up on all fours, then slowly lifting himself back up to his feet, breathing through the pain of the fall. It took him a few moments but he managed to pick himself up completely, which was good news, he definitely didn't break anything. He stood there and drew several breaths before trying to take a step forward, which was more of a stumble than a step.

"Damn it all..." He mumbled to himself in frustration of his current situation. He slipped his backpack off and dug through it, looking for some pain pills to at least suppress the pain for him so he could freely move around. He took a jar out and unscrewed the lid, carefully tapping out two pills from it and swallowing them. He sat down for awhile and waited for them to kick in.

A little while later he tried getting up again, finding it to be much easier now to move about thanks to the pain killers. He wasted no time trying to run, finding his balance was off slightly due to the pills he took but he could manage, all that mattered was covering as much ground as possible.

--------------

Several hours into the trek David was still going strong, trying to keep pace so he could get to his intended destination as quickly as possible. Thus far his plan of taking the long way around seemed to be going fairly smoothly, he hasn't come across any wild Pokemon thus far aside from some wild Wingull and Pelipper flying along the beach.

The cliff acted as a natural barrier for him, keeping whatever Pokemon that were up there in the forest away from him so he could travel freely. This meant he was fairly much safe now from almost all wild Pokemon attacks aside from those that came from the air and the water.

Then, unexpectedly he felt the familiar feeling he had from several days ago creep down his spine again, he felt like he was being followed. He nervously turned around, nothing was there, he looked up at the top of the cliff and again, nothing was there. He shook his head and groaned loudly, that Umbreon absolutely could NOT be following him now, he was too far away from the route he used, plus it was probably busy licking it's wounds from coming across the wrong trainer that actually did fight back.

He look a Pokeball from his pocket and tossed it out, he's had enough of this now. The Pokeball hit the sand and bounced up, snapping open and releasing the contained Pokemon in a burst of light. From the burst of light stood a Lucario, Luke, as he looked around the unfamiliar location. The Lucario looked around for a few moments before he looked over towards David.

"Why did you send me out?" He asked David impatiently, not seeing any reason for David releasing him from the Pokeball out here.

"Luke, you mind doing me a favor?" David firmly asked him, Luke nodded yes in response while raising a brow, curious about why David would ask him a favor. "Can you...check around for an Umbreon?" David asked.

Luke raised a brow, that was certainly a most unusual request. He shook his head and figured he'd better take a look before he asked any questions. He brought his two front paws together in a meditating pose as he closed his eyes and focused. Despite the fact his eyes were closed he could still see, just differently now, because now he didn't see the world with his eyes, he sensed it now, feeling the ebb and flow of it, what he saw now was the aura of the world.

He focused his concentration and tried to look around for what could be an Umbreon around the local area. He could see a lot of different Pokemon in the area, both ones up on the cliff, away from his line of sight and ones in the ocean, granted he wasn't looking there for anything. Upon the cliff he sense a lot of different auras of different Pokemon, including a very strong presence of aura, which obviously couldn't have been an Umbreon, it was probably a fellow Lucario such as himself, which would have been very usual to say the least, Lucario were extremely hard to come by in this day and age.

He continued to peer around for several minutes but found nothing that seemed to be an Umbreon around here. He lower his paws to his sides and slowly opened his large, red eyes and looked over at David. "No Umbreon's around here." He said firmly. David let out a sigh of relief to those words, he was just being paranoid now.

"So I take it that an Umbreon was responsible for making you its bitch the other day?" Luke asked David, now remembering the wound on the back of David's neck.

"Yeah, yeah, shut up." David muttered out, frustrated that everyone kept bugging him about that.

"So am I done here?" Luke asked as he let out a sigh, he didn't like being bothered like this.

"Well...could we spar for awhile? I need to calm my nerves." He said as he dropped his backpack down to the ground, taking a small metal rod off of the side of it.

"Very well." Luke firmly said with a nod, bringing his paws together and focusing, with a bright green glow emerging from in between his paws. He brought the spread his paws apart in a motion that he was holding something, as he did a green light extended from where he had both of his paws brought together, turning into a body length object that resembled a bone, only completely made out of a bright green energy.

David nodded in return and undid a latch on the side of the small metal rod he was holding, after he did the ends of the rod immediately extended out, becoming a body length staff. "Here we go..." David said as he charge off towards Luke immediately, twirling the staff around and then swinging it at him.

Luke in turn blocked it with the bone stave he was holding, releasing a bright flash on impact and flurry of green sparks as the two stave's connected. Luke immediately followed up with a counter attack, swinging his staff around to hit David in an open spot where his guard was down, however David immediately blocked it with the opposite end of his stave and in turn, tried to counter with another attack, again being blocked by Luke.

The two pushed each other away, with David jumping backwards a small distance and Luke flipping backwards, twirling his bone stave around as he flipping through the air and landed. David immediately ran off towards Luke again, making another swing at him, Luke fended the attack by tilting his stave at an angle, causing David's attack to slide completely off of the side onto the ground. Luke grinned and kicked David in the side of his ribs, sending him rolling off in the opposite direction several yards before stopping.

"Ow! Damn it Luke! I just fell off of a cliff you ass! Don't be that rough!" David snapped out as soon as he recovered, shaking off the pain from that kick.

Luke pointed a paw at him and snarled. "That's for fucking forgetting to heal me all day you ass!" Luke yelled back at him.

"Oh you knew?" David asked with a surprised look on his face.

"No but I read it off of that damn thick skull of yours while we were fighting." Luke answered as he stood the bone stave he was holding on it's end next to him. "I'm STILL honestly surprised I can actually even READ any thoughts from that damn head of yours when you can't even read your own damn thoughts!" Luke continued with a small laugh to himself.

David let out a sigh and lowered his head, shaking it. "Should have figured as much...sorry about that..." David lowly murmured in apology. "You can have the rest of the day off." He said as he flipped another latch on the stave he was holding, allowing him to slide the ends back down to the size it was before he drew it, making it easy to carry.

Luke blinked at him a few times, rather surprised by the way he was acting now. "You apologized? Wait, what in the hell is wrong with you? You NEVER apologize! At least to me...ass...but still, this isn't like you!" Luke asked, not used to David acting remotely like this, his usual comment would be something along the lines of "Oh come on, you can deal with the pain!" or something, this absolutely wasn't like him.

"Shut up." David snapped back as he returned Luke to his Pokeball, rather annoyed with the constant flow of insults from him now. David returned the Pokeball back to his shirt pocket and sighed to himself again, he was starting to feel the pain pills he took earlier loose their affect. He walked over to his backpack and opened it up, reaching around for wherever he left that jar of pain pills.

He got it and tapped out two more pain pills, swallowing them and returning the jar into his backpack again. He picked the backpack up and slung it over his shoulder again, walking back down the beach, at least feeling a little less weary now. He took off again down the winding beach, hoping to make some more ground up today before sunset.

--------------

At around sunset he his body was finally starting to protest against him for over working it like this, he felt like he was completely out of energy now. He slowed down from the light jog he was managing to hold for quite sometime and stopped, panting to himself. 'I can't keep going like this...damn it...' David though as he looked around, trying to spot a good place for him to rest for the night.

He didn't want to stay anywhere too exposed due to the ever so slight risk of that Umbreon following him still. He waited a few minutes before he felt rested enough to at least walk, then continued down the beach.

Almost an hour passed before he finally found a spot suitable, it was a small opening in the side of the cliff that stood over the beach. It was dusk now, almost completely dark with a little bit of light still emanating from the sun which had gone past the horizon, with countless stars now starting to peer through the dark blue sky.

He walked over to the opening in the cliff and tossed his backpack inside of it, letting out a sigh as he slowly sat himself down on the bright white sand. He turned around and slid himself back against the wall of the cliff opening, it was only several feet deep, just enough to hide him from anything that wasn't directly in view of him.

He looked outside towards the ocean, now getting a chance to quietly admire it, with the dark blue waters calmly hitting the beach, and the light of the moon now starting to reflect off of the surface of it. Indeed it was quite beautiful now, which almost made the whole day seem like something of the past.

"Please let tomorrow go smoothly..." David sighed to himself, feeling drained now, both physically and mentally, he felt like he'd die if tomorrow went horribly again for him. He leaned his head back and quickly drifted off to sleep, not really caring how uncomfortable the rock wall behind him felt, his body demanded the rest, and frankly sleeping was the only way he could escape the bad luck he's been having as of late.

--------------

"Ow..." David mumbled as he woke up the next morning, his whole body aching from yesterday, however the one thing that hurt the most probably was the back of his neck right now, which was literally throbbing with pain now. He yawned slowly and stretched himself out slightly, right until he felt something press back against both of his shoulders.

He immediately opened his eyes and saw an ever so painfully familiar black face in front of him, with those gorgeous red eyes staring straight into his own eyes. It was her, the Umbreon he's been trying to desperately avoid for the past few days, right there, in front of him now.

"Why hello there, I've been waiting for you..." The Umbreon said lowly, grinning with a few of her teeth bared.

"Look...I know you hate humans and all...but seriously leave me alone...you have no idea how bad the past few days have been for me..." David murmured lowly, at this point he didn't care about how that Umbreon felt, he wanted to get out of her now, and as far away as he could.

The Umbreon dug her claws slightly into his shoulders and pushed him more forcefully against the wall. "Is that a threat?" She asked in a testing voice.

"Yes, leave me be." David said firmly in response, with his hand now slowly moving towards the metal stave on his backpack.

"Oh? Don't you enjoy my company? Besides...you do remember that promise I made you last time...if the next time I saw you would be the day I ended your life..." The Umbreon said with the grin on her face widening. "So just sit back and relax...and enjoy these last moments..." She purred almost as she slightly moved her head closer to his, with that ever so evil grin on her face.

"Well...I'll have to apologize then...you caught me in a bad mood..." David said, making her pause and blink at him. Then without warning the Umbreon felt something hit her chest, making her fly backwards out of the cave, flipping onto her back.

She scrambled up and looked at David, who was standing now and twirling a metal staff around above him. "You want to fight? Fine, I'll give you a fight, not with Pokemon but with what you really hate, a human, lets see if this will make you happy, shall we?" David asked as he swung the stave down and pointed the far end of it towards her.

She grinned to herself now in pure glee, this was exactly what she's wanted, to kill a human that can fight for itself. "I see you finally grew a pair...this should be fun..." She said as she readied herself to attack him. She expected this to be over pretty quick, a human wouldn't be able to stand up against her, she's a Pokemon, she's far more powerful than he is.

A few moments passed and she made her first move, charging dead on towards him. She jumped at him, trying to get a hit in on him, however he quickly side stepped her attack, hitting her underbelly with his stave, flipping her up in the air, he then hit get again, more forcibly this time in the back, sending her flipping off several feet, face first into the sand.

He twirled the stave around and planted one end of it into the sand. "Sorry, this is what you wanted wasn't it?" He said confidently to her. She lifted her head up and shook her head, blinking a few times in surprise of what just happened, she just had her tail handed to her by a human? She slowly turned around towards him and snarled at him, boiling with anger now.

"Don't you dare think you're better than me just because of some lucky shot you ass...got it?!" She snapped at him, with the fur on her back ruffled up now. She wasted no time charging at him again, faster this time, to the point where she was almost a blur now.

"Well we'll see won't we..." David sighed out to himself as he readied himself. He waited until she was just the right distance from him, then flipped the part of the stave he had buried in the sand at her, hitting her in the face with the sand, causing her to flip forward on the ground again, rolling off past David several yards before stopping.

She shook her head and got up again, with her eyes watering from the sand in her eyes. It took a few moments for her to recover from that cheap trick he pulled. "My my, weak for a Pokemon aren't we?" David said, now taunting her, trying to bring out the rage in her.

It was working, she only growled in response as she turned around and faced him, with her eyes now focused on him. She then opened her mouth and shot a black ball of energy at him, a Dark Pulse as the attack was named. David merely side stepped the attack once again as it flew right by him, flying off into the ocean harmlessly.

"Aren't you supposed to kill me? The ocean hasn't done anything to you hasn't it?" David again taunted, pressing her nerves.

"I'm going to fucking end your cocky ass!!!" The Umbreon roared out as her anger hit its peak, with her eyes narrowing and her claws digging into the sand. She charged off at him again, differently this time, she had no control of herself now, she was being controlled by the nearly bottomless rage in her now towards humans.

David twirled his stave around once more and got ready for her, her attack this time was going to be a lot more forceful than the previous two. Once she got close enough to him she jumped back up towards him, once again he dodged, he didn't counter this time however, allowing her to land. Once she landed she immediately turned around towards him and shot another Dark Pulse at him, this time nearly hitting him.

He ran off to the side, as he started to run she immediately ran after him, following her instinct to chase him. She charged him again with no thought or emotion behind it aside that of pure anger. This time however, David made his move again, sliding most of the stave out in front of him, then spinning himself back around at her, hitting her right in the face with the opposite end of the stave, causing her to fall over onto the sand.

Almost immediately she got up, this time however David wasn't going to allow her such a chance, he returned his hands to the center of the stave and twirled it around, hitting her on the other side of the face with the opposite end of it, sending her falling over again, only to be hit once again on the opposite side of the face with the stave. David made a quick twirl of the staff and hit her in the chin, sending her flying back up to the point where she was standing on her hind legs straight up, then catching her attack with another twirl, hitting her in the side of the head, sending her flipping several feet into the sand.

She laid there for a few moments, stunned by all of the impacts to her head, she slowly started to get up once more, however David swung the stave down once again, this time hitting her neck. That hit set her down cold this time, hitting a point on her neck that caused her to immediately loose consciousness.

--------------

The Umbreon woke up sometime later slowly opening her two, ruby red eyes groggily, she felt like a Rhydon used a Horn Drill on the side of her head. As soon as she opened her eyes she noticed she was laying on the beach, the beach where she tracked that trainer too. She tried to get up but noticed something else now, all four of her legs were tied together. She immediately tried to struggle free but it was no use, she couldn't break free.

"Oh, sleeping beauty's finally awake I see?" A familiar voice shrewdly remarked to her. She immediately bolted her head around, looking for where that voice came from, finally she saw David sitting over near her, with a smile on his face.

"Let...me...go..." The Umbreon breathed out, feeling the anger within her welling up at the mere sight of him.

"No can do little lady, I'm afraid you've become rather popular around these here parts with all of the attacks you've been making, plus I'm willing to bet that if I did let you go, you would attack me again the first chance you got." David said in an as a matter of fact fashion.

"Fine, I'll leave you alone, just fucking let me go!" The Umbreon snapped out at him, raising her tone.

"Nope, I'm afraid I can't, sorry but this is for your own good." David sighed out as he shook his head.

"I fucking said let me go! I don't care what you fucking think is good for me, just let me go!" She again snapped out, starting to struggle around with as she yelled.

"You like using the F word a lot don't you? Anyways again I can't, you don't really know how popular you've with the wrong crowd for you, if you keep attacking people you'll be hunted down and hauled away, probably put to sleep for being a risk to humans for all of the attacks you've made." David explained to her.

"I don't give a damn! If they come here and capture me and haul me off somewhere to kill me then let them do it! I don't fucking care! Just let me the fuck go!" She again yelled out, flopping around as she desperately struggled against the restraints David put on her.

David smacked her on the head with the stave he carried, making her flinch from the hit. "Now listen here, don't say you don't care about your life, I don't care how diluted your self image or image of the world is, it's absolutely not worth throwing your life away for." David again explained to her with a slight annoyed tone in his voice.

"Don't you fucking hit me while I'm tied up you asshole!" The Umbreon snapped at him. "And don't go lecturing me about how my life isn't worth throwing away, like it fucking matters anymore! I've no god damn reason to live anymore, I don't care what you, or any other dick head out there says or thinks about it!" She argued, not wanting to hear David's self motivational talk.

"Well then it looks like we'll have to spend some quality time together to straighten that out now don't we?" David said to her, knowing that no matter what now she HAD to listen to him now, like it or not.

"How many god damn times do I have to say it? LET ME GO!" The Umbreon yelled out as she continued to try and struggle herself free of the restraints David placed on her.

"Well struggle all you want, it's just as useless as that tough girl act you're putting on." David sighed out, shaking his head at the sight before him. "So tell me..." He continued, trying to strike up a subject for them to talk about while he waited for her to eventually break. "Why do you hate humans so much?" David asked her with a brow raised.

"None of your god damn business!" The Umbreon snapped out, not interested in telling him anything about herself, especially that sort of thing.

"Fine, I'll leave you to think about it then." David said as he got up from where he was sitting, walking over towards the beach.

"Don't fucking leave me here you asshole!" The Umbreon snapped out, not wanting him to leave her alone tied up like this.

"Ah, you'll be fine, if your lucky you might find a boyfriend while your tied up like that!" David laughed as he continued to walk away.

"FUCK YOU!" The Umbreon yelled out in response to that comment.

"You'd enjoy that too much, but anyways I'm not leaving you alone, I'll just give you some space, now quit complaining before you give me a headache." David explained as he continued to step away from her.

"Don't fucking leave me here alone you asshole!" She yelled out, flailing around now as she struggled against her restraints. A few moments passed and she heard no response from him. "HEY! Don't fucking ignore me!" She snapped out. Again no she heard no response from David. She fell silent, now starting to get the idea that if she wanted out of here, she was going to have to play along.

However she would rather DIE than play along with what he wanted. "Fuck you god damn it! You think you know so fucking much?! When I get loose from here I'm going to make you fucking miserable before I kill you! You hear me?! I'm going to make you beg me to kill you!!!" She yelled out at the top of her lungs.

Again her words fell upon deaf ears, with David walking along the beach now. He knew he should be hurrying to that ferry but that didn't seem to matter much now, it was growing more and more obvious that he was going to have to help that Umbreon despite its sunny disposition.

--------------

"DAMN IT!!!" The Umbreon roared out in frustration, still flat on her side with her legs tied together. It was sunset now, she was tired, hungry and pissed. She hasn't seen that trainer all day either, he must have left her there to die. "Damn him...DAMN HIM!!!" She yelled out, still boiling over with anger towards him.

Despite the fact she was alone, her words didn't go unheard, not too far away, but just out of sight was David, he had pretty much spent the whole day resting and recovering from his injuries. He was now officially behind by about a day, if it wasn't for that Umbreon he would be near or at that ferry by now. Although today didn't completely go to waste, he managed to get some work done on that tan he was personally dreaming about for a long while!

But that aside today was pretty much wasted thanks to her. He waited for about half an hour more, with the sun almost fully set now. Surprisingly that Umbreon has been quiet the whole time as well, which meant she must have vented herself out some from all of the cussing and struggling earlier. He figured it was a good time to go check on her, he slowly got up and walked over a couple feet, only to be met by a loud growl.

Thankfully enough it was his stomach that doing the growling this time, he's pretty much gone the whole day without food come to think of it. He shook his head and continued walking, food was the last thing he should be concerned with at this point.

He continued over towards the Umbreon, now within view of her, although she couldn't quite see him due to the fact her back was turned towards him. He started to walk cautiously towards her after he was within view of her, she didn't notice him despite the fact her hearing was quite sharp.

He paused several yards away from her and took a small breath. "Cool down yet?" He asked.

She immediately came back to life with those words, thrashing about at her restraints again. "You! Why in the hell did you come back?! Let me go!" The Umbreon snapped out, both relieved that he's back and angered by the fact that he did come back for her.

"Still as friendly as ever I see?" David remarked, half disappointed to see that she was still her lively self. He shook his head and let out a sigh, it was obvious they were going to be here for awhile now. "So are you hungry?" He asked concernedly.

She drew her breath to yell out something in response but caught herself and paused. She did feel hungry now that she thought about it. She immediately caught herself from those thoughts, no, no WAY was she going to let a human get food for her!

"No!" She snapped out in response, not wanting to show any sign of weakness to him, hunger being one such weakness.

"Oh? You've gone the whole day without food and you're still not hungry?" David asked as he tilted his head in an unconvinced fashion.

"No, now shut up." She lowly answered.

"Well okay then, I guess I'll go catch myself some dinner then and leave you alone." David said as he turned around and walked off, leaving her there alone once again.

She turned her head around as far as she could and saw him walk off, leaving her to herself again, tied up and defenseless. "Let me go damn you! Why in the hell are you leaving me alone tied up like this?! Do you want something to just waltz along and do as it pleases with me?! Let me go!!" She yelled out in protest of his leaving again.

David didn't bother turning around to respond and just raised an arm up. "Don't worry, nothing will happen to you, I promise." He said as he walked off, quickly breaking himself from her line of sight. His words didn't bring her any comfort however, what reason did he have to protect her? She was nothing to him, she's attacked him, twice now, she was honestly surprised he hasn't left her behind tied up like this or killed her.

She turned her head and let out a breath, growling to herself frustration over this human, he was a lot different than the others, and for some reason it absolutely pissed her off. She pondered over it for awhile, with the answer hitting her like a brick wall. He reminded her of the exact reason she came to hate humans, the one human who ruined her trust in all humans for what he did.

She immediately felt depressed remembering him and everything he put her through, with a silent tear rolling down the black fur of her cheek down onto the sand. "Why..." She muttered to herself, with her emotions now starting to flow out of her. "Why did he leave me?!" She yelled out, with more tears streaming from her eyes, shaking her head as she cried.

She managed to get a grip on herself after a few moments, with her sadness quickly being turned into anger, now freshly reminded about the reason she why hated humans as much as she did. The fact that David reminded her of the very human she vowed to find and get her revenge on made her hate for him deepen, taking her revenge out on him would almost be as sweet as the real thing.

However the malevolent thoughts of revenge were interrupted by a growl from her stomach, telling her that she was hungry and needed to eat. Sadly enough the only thing she could eat right now was sand, as David left her with no food or even water.

"DAMN HIM!!!" She yelled out in frustration, she was helpless to do anything now, all because she was too weak to stand up against some stupid human who deserved to die.

Elsewhere, the subject of her thoughts, David, was off getting dinner for the night in the form of fish. He was standing in the shallow part of the beach using the metal stave of his as a fishing rod. It was night now, with all trace of sunlight purged by the deep, inescapable darkness of the night, paining the sky mostly black aside from the light the countless stars of which dotted the sky.

As he fished he thought about that Umbreon, his mind filled with questions about her that she wouldn't answer, what happened to her? How did she end up here? Why did she hate humans as much as she did? Why did she follow him? Questions he asked himself but were impossible for anyone else but her to answer.

And sadly he wouldn't get an answer unless she was willing to tell him, granted he could have Luke read it off of her mind for him but that would be unfair to her. Plus he doubted Luke would ever shut up about him keeping a female Pokemon tied up like that. He sighed softly to himself, slightly frustrated over the situation he was in, he was the good guy in this whole mess but he was viewed as the bad guy by the one thing he was trying desperately to help now.

Probably the most weird thing about this was the fact he likely wouldn't have bothered doing this for any other Pokemon ASIDE from her, maybe it was fact that he could understand her but he felt he needed to help her, no matter what.

All for what? To change her opinion on humans and to save her from destroying herself? At first it didn't seem worth it with all of the trouble she caused him, causing him unneeded trouble, of which he probably did deserve but still unneeded...

...Moving on from that she attacked him twice, nearly choking him to death once and then giving him that ever so lovely wound on the back of his neck which served as a pleasant reminder of her since their meeting. And now with another attack on him and an obvious will to bring him harm, he still wanted to help her.

He shook his head and just simply said "No." to himself. It was the fact that she did all of that to him that precisely made him and him alone responsible for doing this for her. He had to change her views and opinions, because if he didn't then who will? Who could? Almost NO trainer would show her the patience he's shown for her.

He gave himself a firm nod, reassured about why he was doing this now, if he didn't do this then nobody else would. Still it was going to be a challenge to pull this off...it seemed like the only option he had to get her to open up to him was to break her, getting rid of her will to fight him, so it looked like he had his work cut out for him.

'Well...tomorrow's a new day...hopefully I'll be able to get through to her then...' David said to himself in thought as he stared out at his fishing bobber floating out in the water. 'I just hope I can help you...' He thought, letting out a sigh as he thought about that Umbreon.

--------------

The next morning the Umbreon was asleep on the beach, after spending half of the night struggling to get herself free from the restraints that human placed on her, failing yet again to break free. She slowly stirred from her sleep, slowly waking up now. A few moments later she yawned and noticed something in the air, the smell of food, more specifically, the smell of fish.

She opened her eyes slowly as her eyes adjusted to the light of the sun reflecting off of the white sand of the beach she was on, and then she saw it. Right in front of her was a big, fat, fish just calling her name, her eyes immediately lit up at the sight of it, she was finally going to get that meal she was ever so desperately wanting now.

She wormed her way over towards it slowly, getting just a few inches from it, already trying to bite at it, praying she could reach it. As soon as she almost had it however it was batted several feet away. She looked up and saw David standing above her, holding the stave he used to fight he with in his hand.

"Whew that was close, you almost ate something a human caught, I'm sure you would rather starve to death than eat something I caught now wouldn't you?" David said to her in a teasing fashion, trying to break her will to fight him now by pushing her will to fight past the breaking point.

She blinked a few times, registering what just happened and snarled at him, absolutely pissed that he was mocking her now. "FUCK YOU!" She yelled out in frustration.

"Oh?" David said as he knelt down next to her. "I take it that you are hungry then? Then why don't you just politely ask for me to get some food then? You know it wouldn't kill you, if anything it would give you a full belly and one less thing to worry about." He continued, playing on her anger.

She couldn't take it anymore and charged up a Dark Pulse in her mouth, but as soon as she did David smacker her in the snout harmlessly with the end of his stave, causing her to flinch and loose her focus on it. "Now is that hardly a way to treat a new friend?" David mocked with a small laugh.

"I'M GOING TO FUCKING END YOUR ASS, YOU HEAR ME?! END YOU!!!" She roared out at him, with the fur on the back of her neck and back on end, growling deeply as she looked at him with her eyes full of hate. But it was easy to tell for David, behind those hateful eyes she wanted to cry now, with a flood of emotions being held behind that anger she held towards humans.

David walked off and picked the fish up and walked over towards her, holding it by the tail and waving it in front of her. "So you want this?" David asked as he waved it above her head. Her whole head and eyes followed the fish intently, wanting to eat it despite what she thought or felt about it.

Then without warning David tossed the fish up high in the air, then twirled his stave around and smacked it like a baseball, sending it flying off into the ocean. "Then if you're going to treat the only way you're going to get a meal around here like trash you can go swim for it." David coldly said as he walked away from her, leaving her to her hunger and an over whelming sense of helplessness.

"Damn you..." The Umbreon said lowly, now starting to feel her emotions starting to pour out again, she was absolutely helpless to him, she couldn't fight, couldn't resist, she was his prisoner here, all too knowingly helpless without him now.

She started to cry now from the whole situation she was in, of course she absolutely couldn't show him her emotions...no she couldn't show him any weakness. But she couldn't stop herself no matter how much she tried, with her emotions now breaking past any resistance she was putting up, with tears silently streaming from her beautiful red eyes now.

David heard something behind him that caught his intention, he turned his head around and saw exactly what he had hoped to see, her crying now. He had succeeded in what he set out to do today flawlessly, he broke her, now she was showing her emotions uncontrollably, with him as the soul witness to it.

He turned around and walked towards her, as he did she desperately tried to stop her crying, but the more she tried the more she cried, she couldn't, she was powerless now. He drew closer and closer to her, slowly stepping towards her as she started to cry uncontrollably, she couldn't even bring herself to say anything now, with her voice being muted by the out pour emotions.

He knelt down next to her and smiled down at her warmly. "So we've finally opened up have we?" David softly said as he reached a hand down towards her face, she moved her head back slightly but it was on no use, she couldn't go anywhere now. He wiped the trail of tears off of the side of her face and rubbed the back of her neck comfortingly.

"See?" David said to her softly. "You've got emotions buried deep in there, ones your afraid to let out, I apologize for everything I did but this was the only way i could bring them out, what I did might be cruel, but letting yourself be endlessly tortured by those caged in emotions like that is far worse than anything I could ever do." David explained to her, with her listening to every word he was saying unwillingly as she continued to cry.

He took his hand off of her neck and reached over into a pocket in his pants, pulling out a pocket knife. He flipped the blade out and let loose the restraints he placed on her legs, basically letting her free now. "I've proved my point now, so I've got no reason to hold you anymore." He lowly said as he placed his knife away.

However, despite having the freedom she's been desperately wanting since he tied her up like that, she couldn't bring herself to move now due to her crying, she felt like she wanted to just lay there and cry herself to death. After a few moments of waiting David noticed she wasn't trying to get away, which presented an interesting opportunity now.

He slide a hand underneath her side and placed his other hand on the other side of her, lifting her up right. She didn't resist his handling of her, she had no will too, although the inner part of her mind was wondering what he was doing now. Then, without warning he embraced her, holding her in his arms, hugging her.

She immediately paused from her crying with her eyes wide, he was hugging her? Why was he hugging her? That was the main question echoing through her head now. But oddly enough it was comforting to her being held by him, despite the fact he was a human, it was still a much needed embrace.

The without warning a flashback triggered in her head, with the memory of the last time she was hugged like this, no the so many times she was hugged like this, by that other human that brought her to hate humans as much as she did now. With those images in her head now and the fact that she was being hugged in almost the exact same way right now was absolutely too much for her to bear now.

She threw her head into his shoulder and let loose of all of her emotions, crying her heart out now. As she did David smiled and held her closer, stroking her back comforting to help sooth the tears. In the back of her mind she was cursing herself for accepting his embrace, just a few moments ago she would have been tearing his throat out, and now she was being hugged and comforted by him, willingly no less!

But despite how much she personally disapproved of it she couldn't bring herself to care right now. She just cried, cried like she's never cried before.

--------------

After awhile the Umbreon's crying fit subsided, she just stayed there silently within David's embrace for awhile, her mind slowly drifting over why this human was treating her like this. Eventually she just couldn't take the silence between them anymore and brought herself back, feeling almost empty now.

"Why?" She blatantly asked him, completely confused with this humans reasoning. "Why after all I did...putting you through at that trouble...attacking you...hurting you...why do you..." She murmured as she paused for a moment, trying to find the words to put together.

"Why do I care for you?" David asked for her, knowing what her question was. She looked at him and nodded slowly at the question. "Well I said it before...I want to change your opinion on us humans, sure there are bad ones among us but there are good ones too...at least that's what I'd like to prove to you." He answered lowly.

"Although..." David said, figuring that she obviously wouldn't be satisfied with an answer he already gave her. "I also feel responsible for you in a way I suppose...I can't explain why really but I do, and I'd really like to be the one to actually change your view on humans as well." He continued to explain.

She blinked at him a few times and looked away. "I'm also curious about you...I haven't seen the real you yet haven't I?" David questioned, she looked back at him with her one of her ears tilted to the side, wondering what he meant by that.

"Well...I can see you hide yourself under a lot of hate and anger, trying to suppress the pain of whatever happened to you before, not letting your real emotions show, happiness, joy, love, sorrow, any of it, because your afraid of being hurt again. Whatever happened with you it must have been pretty bad so I wont blame you for how you're acting...but I can't help but feel concerned for you, going through all of that alone must have been unimaginably rough on you." David continued before pausing, collection his own thoughts.

The Umbreon was dumbfounded with those words, indeed he pretty much just explained herself to her. But aside from that he just said he did care about her, which was an idea she wasn't used too yet. "So...do you...care about me?" She lowly asked, wanting to hear the simple answer to that question from him oddly, knowing the answer already but still needing to hear it again.

David looked her dead in the eyes seriously and nodded slightly. "Yes, yes I do care about you." He firmly answered. His words echoed through her, answering some of her doubts and raising new ones, but something about him made her want to trust him...maybe it was because he was so much like "him" that she felt almost compelled to trust him...despite what that person put her through.

She turned her head away again, struggling with her feelings on the subject. "Now...could you please tell me what happened? I would like to know how you came to hate us like you do now...if you trust me enough to tell me that anyways, I understand if you don't." David asked, hoping to get a better understanding of her now.

She lowed her head, with her long ears drooping to the side in a sad fashion, she didn't want to bring that up but she felt she had no choice but to tell him now, he had a right to know she felt. "Well..." She said as she tried to pick the words she'd use to explain everything that happened.

"I was abandoned...a while back by my trainer...I was an Eevee then...we were out at the edge of that city...he told me to wait there on the road for him while he went to get something but he..." She paused, getting choked him by an urge to cry just at the memory of it. "...He never came back..." She continued, forcing the last bit out.

David nodded slowly, a little bit relieved that it wasn't something worse. "I take it you two were really close to each other?" He asked, trying to poke just a bit further into the subject. She slowly nodded with a depressed look on her face.

"I loved him..." The Umbreon lowly answered with a nod to herself. "He was everything I had in the world...we traveled together...region to region...town to town...always together...we were like family...it didn't matter that he was a human and I was a Pokemon...we both cared for each other just as much as we could for anyone of our own kind..." She emotionally explained to him.

"I waited for him...I waited for days...but no matter how long I waited...he never came back...he abandoned me...for no reason...I..." She continued as she lower her head down, her words being cut off by another urge to cry again.

David let out a sigh and nodded to himself, it was obvious that her telling him this was ripping her apart from the inside out, so it was best to save this for another time. He reached out and placed his hand under her chin and raised her head up, making her look at him as he smiled warmly towards her.

"I'm sure he didn't just leave you, it sounded to me like you were the most important thing in the world to him, I think something happened that was out of his control which forced him to leave you behind, I don't know what exactly but I absolutely know he wouldn't leave you like that, I could never imagine just simply abandoning any of my Pokemon for any reason in the world." David explained as he tried to ease her emotions and comfort her.

She looked at him, thinking about what he just said. She wanted to believe that her old trainer didn't just simply leave her there...but she also couldn't imagine what would happen that would force him to leave her there either. She felt a little bit better now with his words of comfort though.

After a few moments she noticed something, his hand, he was touching her. She yanked her head back from him and shook herself, now starting to get her senses about her, she was actually letting him touch her now? Her saddened look started to turn into a confused one, now in conflict with herself about this human before her, she wanted to get back at him for putting her through all of that but she also felt she owed him for what he did for her, she felt a world of relief now that she got a lot of her caged in emotions out of her.

Before she could delve too deep into her thoughts she was interrupted by a rather loud growl from her stomach again, catching her off guard, making her blush slightly in embarrassment. "Ah, yes, I do owe you breakfast now I guess, I'll be right back." David said as he got up, knowing that she was probably starved by now.

He walked back down the beach to the spot he stayed the night at, as he walked the Umbreon slowly followed him, feeling almost compelled to do so. He walked over and knelt over next to his backpack in front of something, she couldn't tell what it was from where she was standing, but she did smell fish.

David looked over his shoulder and said "Ah." with an exhaled breath, seeing her there standing there behind him. He turned around and with a fish in his hands, holding out towards her. She looked at the fish then up at him, with with a sparkly eyed look, wanting to be assured that it was really okay to take that fish, honestly not caring anymore about if a human caught it or not.

"Go ahead, take it, I was intending for you to eat theses anyways, I don't want you to starve to death so please, go ahead and help yourself." David said, offering the fish towards her still. She didn't argue and stepped forward, taking it away from his hands in her mouth and backing a short distance away, digging into it ravenously.

It didn't take her long at all before she had just about completely finished it, leaving just the bones behind. She licked her self clean after gorging herself, still hungry but relieved now that she had something to eat. However before she could really clean herself she saw another fish land next to her, she looked over at David who was smiling at her warmly.

"I take it your still hungry? Please, have your fill." David said with a small laugh in his voice. Again she didn't protest his offer and went over and started digging into the new fish. As she ate David watched her, trying to think of something to ask her. A few possible questions popped into his head, but probably the most suitable one for now was to ask her for her name.

"Do you have a name?" David asked her as she ate the fish. She paused and looked at him, caught slightly off guard by the sudden question from him. "No..." She answered softly, then returning her focus to the fish in front of her, cleaning the meat from the bones of it.

David nodded in response to her answer, kind of disappointed he didn't have anything to call be by aside from "Umbreon" which honestly seemed rather rude to him, which is why he named all of his Pokemon spare for Luke, who came with the name.

He thought about giving her a name to call her by but that would be sort of pointless due to fact he'll be leaving soon now that he's accomplished what he set out to do with her, getting her to open up. He could ask her to come with him but...it would be unlikely she would say yes so he saw no point in asking.

David sighed and figured he should just go ahead and get this over with now, he was horrible with goodbyes. He picked his bag up and slung it around his shoulder and started to walk off, however this was immediately protested by the Umbreon.

"Wait! Where are you going?" The Umbreon asked him, honestly not wanting him to simply leave her behind. He turned around and looked at her, half surprised that she was pretesting his leaving like this but he also partly hoped for it.

"I'm off on my mindless quest to go off to get my next gym badge I'm afraid, you take care of yourself now, okay?" David said to her, not wanting to force her to go with him just as much as he did want her to go with him.

"Can you just stay a little while longer?" She asked him, wanting to have some time to think about what should exactly do about "him" before she actually let him go.

"I suppose." David said bluntly, sitting himself down again with his legs crossed together, wondering why she was asking him to stay. As soon as he seated himself the Umbreon sat down as well, she began cleaning herself of the meal she just had, thinking to herself about exactly what she wanted to do now.

If she stayed here she would likely be hunted down just as that human said and locked up, potentially killed even. However if she did go with him that would mean being around him a lot...and other humans as well, but maybe, just maybe she could use him to find out what happened with her previous trainer, then she'll be done with him.

Dare she? The more she thought about it, the more of a good idea it seemed to be, aside from that she was oddly comforted by being around this human. Maybe because he reminded her of her old trainer so much because how selfless and kind towards her he was, or maybe because he bared a rather strong resemblance to him now that she thought about it in detail.

She drew a deep breath and nodded to herself, yes she wanted to go with him. "If you don't mind...could I travel with you?" She asked David softly as she paused from her self cleaning. The question caught David off guard slightly, he honestly wasn't expecting her to ask him, as far as he knew now she still rather hated humans.

"If you wish then yes, you're more than welcomed too, is there any reason why?" David asked curiously, wanting to know what reason she had for actually saying that.

The Umbreon tilted her head away and pointed her ears back slightly, wondering if she should just be up front and honest with him or just lie. "Well...I want to find out what happened with my old trainer is all..." She answered in response lowly.

David nodded and thought about it for a moment, sure he wanted her to go with him, but was it actually a good idea? Now that he thought about it he could imagine her attacking any random human who rubbed her the wrong way, he knew he managed to calm her down a bit from her usual state however he would bet that she could very easily be snapped back into her angered state even at the smallest of things.

"Sure, on two conditions." David bluntly said, bringing a hand up with two fingers raised.

The Umbreon looked at him with a dead serious look now. "Name them." She said firmly, wondering what those conditions were exactly.

"One: No attacking people because they rub you the wrong way, remember, since you are traveling with me I have to take responsibility for you." David explained before pausing a brief moment. "Two: If you intend on traveling with me then you'll have to be considered a Pokemon of mine, nobody will let a wild Pokemon travel with me." He continued, lowering his hand to his lap and waiting for a response from the Umbreon.

"Fine." The Umbreon bluntly replied, giving a small nod.

"Very well then." David sighed out as he brought out one of his spare Pokeball's from his backpack. He activated it and brought it over to the Umbreon, tapping her on the head with it, causing her to be pulled into the Pokeball in a red beam of light. Usually the ball would rock side to side when a Pokemon was captured using it, however in this case since she went willing the ball didn't move, after a few moments the ball made a small beep, confirming that it had caught her.

He tossed the Pokeball back out, releasing the Umbreon out then taking the ball back. "Well I guess now that we'll be stuck together I suppose an introduction is order, my name's David." He said as he placed the ball together with the ones that belonged to his other Pokemon.

"Nice to meet you David." She replied as she looked up at him.

"Thank you, now since you don't have a name for me to call you by how about I give you one?" David asked her, rather hoping she would say yes.

She blinked a few times at him, caught off guard by the offer, even her old trainer never offered to give her a name, so this was quite new. She thought about it for a moment, looking down at the sand. "Well...um...I...guess..." She muttered out, rather unsure about having him name her, if he did she hoped it would at least be a good name.

David immediately smiled at her answer and thought for a moment, looking at her, trying to think of a name to suit her well. After a few moments he finally got a name that suited her just fine, at least suited her for when she wasn't mad.

"Grace." David said with a nod to himself. "I think Grace suits you just fine." He continued as he looked at her.

She blinked a few times and thought that was a rather wonderful name, although it didn't really seem to suit her honestly. "Are you...um...sure?" She asked him, unsure about the new name.

"Yeah, do you like it?" He asked, thinking she might not like her new name.

"I do...it just doesn't seem to fit me..." She murmured in response, turning her head slightly to the side.

"Want me to give you a different name then?" David asked again.

"No, it's fine." She said, turning her head back towards him and giving him a small nod.

"Grace it is then, did you have your fill yet then?" David asked, wondering she had her fill of fish yet, since this would be her last chance to eat until later tonight likely.

She thought about it for a moment and shook her head, she still felt a little bit hungry. "I see, I'll go get you some more fish then." David said as he got his fishing gear out and stepped towards the water. Grace as she was named now, sat down and watched him as he started to fish for her, thinking about her choice.

Was this really the right decision? She couldn't help but ask herself that as she watched him, wondering if this human could really restore her trust in the world. She shook her head and laid herself down, trying not to her get hopes too high over this, she still didn't completely trust him.

Likewise David thought almost the same thing, wondering if he made the right choice in taking her with him, restoring the trust she lost was an daunting task for him, could he do it? He honestly didn't know, but he could only hope he could.
