He adjusted the cowboy hat on his head, pulling it over his eyes and looked towards the horizon. The midday sun blazed down on the Safari Zone plains as the wind was a mere breeze. The squawk of a bird made him look into the sky as a Staraptor circled in the air before coming down towards him and landing on the grass.

r0;Raptor staraptor.r1;

He smiled before nodding his head.

r0;Seems like they decided to make a small camp. Perfect.r1;

r0;Have you found them?r1; a sweet, melodious voice echoed in his head.

He directed his eyes to his right to see his Ninetales walk up to him. Her tails moving like a wave with a mesmerizing effect. Crimson red eyes looked at him with a playful, mischievous manner.

r0;Yeah. Lightning found them up ahead at the camp they made.r1;

r0;Shall I act the injured pokémon again?r1;

r0;You do it so well, Ruby,r1; he chuckled. r0;Remember, as soon as you get the chance, use Confuse Ray.r1;

He dug into his vest pocket and pulled out a pouch filled with red liquid. Shaking it a little, he tore open the pouch before adding the liquid to Rubyr17;s left front leg and some on her right flank. She giggled a little in his head as he applied it, squirming in his hands as they rubbed the liquid into her fur.

r0;That tickles. Your17;re lucky this stuff washes right off. Otherwise, I wouldnr17;t allow it.r1;

r0;You know I wouldnr17;t do anything to damage your beautiful fur, or your perfect body,r1; he chuckled, crumbling the pouch and putting it back into his pocket.

r0;And Ir17;m glad for that.r1;

r0;Alright, let me get into position and Ir17;ll give you the signal. Lightning, go get Jenny and tell her where wer17;re at.r1;

r0;Staraptor,r1; Lightning replied before taking off into the air.

He kept low to the ground, making sure to use his expertise in movement to remain completely quiet. Soon he heard laughter along with the whines of several pokémon. Hiding behind a tree, he peeked around to see three men, laughing at the cage the pokémon were inside.

r0;So, why does this guy need these pokémon anyway?r1; a guy said, sipping on a bottle that was filled with water.

r0;He wants the fur to make a coat and sell them to the highest bidder. For some reason it sells big in the black market,r1; another spoke up.

r0;Yeah, but why poochyenas and eevees? I would go with something more luxurious like arcanines or ninetales,r1; the last one said, biting into some jerky.

r0;To each his own, Ray,r1; the first one said, putting the bottle away.

Ray nodded, reaching into his pants pocket for his cell phone which vibrated insistently.

r0;Hello? Yes, we have what you wanted and should be there in about thirty minutes,r1; Ray said before closing it.

The man hid back behind the tree before waving his hand. Ruby saw it and nodded her head, making her way to the camp in the other direction to avoid giving away his position. She made sure to make plenty of noise as the men looked over to the tall grass, hands on their guns. She came out the grass, faking a limp and whining.

r0;Look at what we have here boys? A ninetales, and an injured one at that.r1; Ray said.

r0;Letr17;s bring it with us. Maybe the buyer will give us extra credits for it.r1;

r0;Good idea, Charlie. Your17;re finally thinking for once in your life.r1;

r0;Shut up, Jeff!r1;

They put their guns away before slowly advancing on her. Ruby let out a whine and backed away slowly.

r0;Whoa, easy there cutie,r1; Ray said, as they got closer. r0;Wer17;re not going to hurt you.r1;

r0;I know your17;re not.r1; Ruby smiled, her eyes beginning to glow with a blueish tint.

All three men jumped back a little in shock but were too late and were caught in her attack. Both Jeff and Charlie started looking around, a dazed, confused look in their eyes, walking around aimlessly before bumping into each other. Ray just stood there, his eyes wide and mouth opened a little. The man came out from behind the tree, a smile on his face. He was about to say something when Ray started to chuckle.

r0;Sorry, but Ir17;ve been around psychic types long enough to learn how to defend against certain attacks. Your17;re coming with us, dead or alive.r1;

Ruby looked shocked as Ray pulled out his gun and pointed it at her. Ray smiled wickedly, his finger tightening on the trigger. Something tapped him on the shoulder. He spun around quickly to fire, only to have his arm twisted painfully behind his back, making him drop his gun.

r0;How about neither,r1; the man said, tossing him over his shoulder with an expert arm drag.

Ray hit the ground with a thud and rolled, stopping just short of the cage the stolen pokémon were being held in. He got his bearings, shaking his head a little, before standing up and looking at his attacker, anger in his eyes.

r0;Just who the hell are you?r1; he growled.

r0;Reggie Hoskins, pokémon tracker at your service,r1; he said, with a small bow. r0;Your17;ve been a bad boy in taking these little guys away from their rightful owners.r1;

r0;Ha. Pokémon are wild and have no owners.r1;

r0;Wrong again. These pokémon belong to the orphanage, where the kids loved them and vice verse.r1;

r0;Too bad. I have a job to do and will complete it.r1;

r0;Not if I have anything to say about it.r1;

r0;Then Ir17;ll just have to kill you and that stupid ninetales who tried to confuse me.r1;

Ray charged him as Reggie took a defensive stance. He dodged the wild swings Ray threw before seeing a wide opening and delivered a solid blow to the stomach followed by a head butt dazing Ray. Before Ray could gain his senses, Reggie spun on his heel and connected with a solid kick to the chest sending Ray sliding backwards on the ground. The impact knocked the air out of his chest as he laid on the ground.

r0;I see your lessons are paying off.r1; Ruby chuckled, walking up to him.

r0;They should. I spent a pretty penny learning them. Sing them a lullaby while I get some rope.r1;

Ruby nodded as her eyes glowed with a Hypnosis attack. All three men quickly felt the effects as they passed out. Reggie smiled before tying them up securely then turning his attention to the cage where the pokémon were. They let out excited cries as he petted them in a comforting motion, getting licks on the hand and cheek.

r0;Donr17;t worry little guys, wer17;ll get you back home to where you belong in time for dinner.r1;

He heard police sirens in the distance as Lightning landed next to him.

r0;Staraptor,r1; Lightning said.

r0;Good job Light,r1; Reggie said, giving him a pokéblock and petting his head.

r0;Raptor,r1; Lightning purred, leaning into the petting.

The police vans stopped, allowing officer Jenny to leap out.

r0;Good job Reggie. The orphanage will be happy to have their pokémon back.r1;

r0;Glad to be of service as always, Jenny,r1; Reggie said, tipping his hat.

Jenny looked at the three sleeping men before smiling.

r0;Wer17;ve been after them for a while. Glad to finally put them behind bars where they belong.r1;

The officers threw the sleeping men into one of the vans before driving off. Jenny looked at Reggie and smiled.

r0;The orphanage doesnr17;t have the credits to pay you, but the police can.r1;

r0;Payment won't be needed for this matter. Ir17;m happy to help the little kids,r1; Reggie replied.

r0;Such a gentlemen.r1;

r0;But if you want, you can help me with something?r1;

r0;Sure, what do you need?r1;

r0;How about a ride back home?r1;

The forest was abuzz with all kinds of pokémon going about their daily routine of life. But all that came to an eerie silence as a jeep eased it way through the jungle foliage, crushing the leaves and tree branches on the ground.

r0;How much longer til we reach the target?r1; the man in the back seat asked, arms crossed.

r0;Not much further sir,r1; the driver said.

The jeep drove a little further until it came to a clearing revealing a large lake where lots of wild pokémon were drinking the refreshing, cool water. Magikarp made a small display of jumping out of the water before splashing in again. A couple of Floatzel were playing along the shore line before scurrying away as the jeep came to a stop.

r0;Make sure to set a perimeter. I donr17;t want to lose it again.r1;

r0;Yes sir.r1;

The man jumped out the back seat, a Muk following him as he stared out at the lake. On the far side, he saw another jeep stop and people running out of it.

r0;Perimeter is set sir. We can start at anytime.r1;

r0;Good. Muk, use Toxic on the water.r1;

The Muk let out a moan before spitting out a ball of green liquid towards the water. Once it hit the water, it turned the clear, blue water into a murky, purplish green. It took only a couple of minutes before the whole lake was poisoned. The wild pokémon drinking from the lake started coughing before fainting from the poison.

r0;Make sure motion sensors are up and running.r1;

r0;Motion sensors are up and running now.r1;

r0;Good. Now we wait for our prey.r1;

The man stood there at the lake side, looking out and waiting for his prey which he knew would come. Soon, a beeping sound could be heard coming from the truck making him smile.

r0;Sir, movement coming in from the north.r1;

r0;So, you show yourself at last.r1;

He went to one knee and kept watch. The beeping grew stronger until a pokémon came out of the forest without making a sound. It walked across the water with ease, as if the water was made of stepping stones. It moved with grace and beauty along the water top. The flowing blue mane on its back moved on its own without any kind of wind present in the air. Its horn shone with the rays the sun was beaming on it making it gleam. The blue fur with diamond white patches only magnified the beauty of this graceful creature.

r0;So beautiful,r1; he said softly.

r0;Sir, squads are in position and awaiting orders to strike.r1;

r0;Wait until it finishes purifying the water, then hit it with Thunderbolt from all sides.r1;

r0;Yes sir.r1;

The man watched as the pokémon dipped its head onto the waterr17;s surface and glowed. The water glowed a bright purple, before the toxic spew that the Muk threw in was vaporized, turning the water a crystal blue again. It seemed to smile at the sight as a small breeze made little ripples on the waterr17;s surface.

r0;Hit it now. Get it.r1;

The pokémonr17;s head shot up and looked to its left before dodging a thunderbolt aimed for it. It retaliated with a strong ice beam, freezing the Electrode as it crashed into the ground.

r0;Surround it. Donr17;t let it get away.r1;

The pokémon got surrounded on all sides by Magnetons, each shooting a strong blast of thunderbolt at it which it nimbly dodged. It let out a howl in the air, causing a massive wave of snow and ice to converge on the area. The man covered his face as the wind from the attack was cold making him grit his teeth.

r0;Dammit, Muk, use Sludge Bomb to distract it. Electabuzz, use Thunderpunch when it evades.r1;

Muk dug into its body, holding a ball of sludge it pulled out before throwing it with great speed at the pokémon. It dodged with ease but couldnr17;t dodge fast enough on the second attack as Electabuzz hit it with a devastating Thunderpunch making it howl in pain as it landed on the beach sand. All the Magnetons hit it with Thunderbolt, keeping it subdued on the ground. The man walked up to it, a huge smile on his face as it looked up at him with weak, angry eyes.

r0;Finally. All my effort will finally produce fruit.r1;

r0;What do you want with me human?r1; the pokémon said weakly with a feminine voice.

r0;You, my beautiful Suicune, will be my ticket to the top. Bag her up boys and letr17;s begin phase two.r1;

A Gengar walked up to Suicune before using Hypnosis on it. Suicuner17;s eyes started to get heavy as she tried to fight it but with little luck as she fell into a deep sleep. Two Electabuzzr17;s picked her up and placed her inside a cage. No sooner then they did as a helicopter came from the behind the foliage, the spinning blades causing the water to churn as a hook was lowered. The man watched with glee as his prize was being hoisted in the air and taken away.

r0;Now begins the real fun.r1;

r0;Commence,r1; the elderly man said, sitting on a mat.

The Lucario nodded before advancing towards Reggie, who did the same. They exchanged blows for blows, parry for parry as the elderly man watched with a keen eye, studying the fight as Ruby and Lightning spectated. Reggie was holding his own before trying to go on the attack. He faked an attack to the side before spinning on his heels with a round kick. The Lucario read his attack before ducking it and countering with a leg sweep followed by a swift kick to his side as Reggie rolled on the mat.

r0;Do not try and force an attack on the enemy. Instead, let the enemy force their attacks on you.r1;

r0;Yes sensei,r1; Reggie said getting up, holding his side.

Even though the Lucario wasnr17;t using all its strength, it still hurt like hell.

r0;Wer17;ll now work on your senses. Apply your blindfold.r1;

Reggie nodded and took a blindfold to his eyes, blinding him.

r0;Remember, once you lose your sight, apply all your concentration to your hearing and touch. Are you ready?r1;

r0;Yes sensei.r1;

r0;Good. Viper, double team.r1;

Viper nodded before making an illusion of himself and slowly began to advance on Reggie. Reggie took a stance, arms in the front of him, head down trying to pick up the slightest sound. The floor board creaked a little as he moved his head to the side the noise was coming from. He brought his arm up, blocking a kick to the head.

The elderly man watched with a smile as Reggie blocked and countered the two Lucarios with good skill and form, applying all the teaching he received to good use. Ruby and Lightning watched as well, amazement on their faces.

r0;Reggie is doing good,r1; Lightning said.

r0;Yes he is. Normally he would be on the ground by now, but her17;s hanging in there,r1; Ruby responded.

r0;Good, enough for today,r1; the man said, with a couple of claps getting their attention.

Reggie and Viper stopped before doing a short bow to each other, a show of respect.

r0;You have improved a lot Reggie. I could see Viper was breathing a little hard to get a hit on you.r1;

r0;All I did was apply what you taught me, nothing else.r1; Reggie said.

r0;Lucario,r1; Viper added.

r0;Indeed, even Viper says her17;s impressed with how much your improving.r1;

r0;I have both of you to thank for it. Would you care for some refreshments Gerald?r1; Reggie asked, using his real name since training was over.

r0;Sure.r1;

Reggie smiled before heading to the kitchen and making some tea, along with grabbing some pokéblocks for Viper, Ruby, and Lightning. Giving them the blocks, he joined Gerald at the table as they talked.

r0;Your master is getting better. I had a hard time trying to hit, even with double team.r1; Viper said.

r0;Reggie is strong, thus one of the reasons I wanted to be his partner.r1; Lightning said. r0;He has a good heart and is very loyal and caring.r1;

r0;How did you come across him?r1; Viper asked.

r0;He saved me from poachers when I was a little Staravia. I broke my wing when I fell from the tree and he nursed me back to health. That kindness was unlike any human I ever encountered, even trainers.r1;

r0;How did you evolve?r1;

r0;He was trying to put a Noctowl nest back on the tree and the Noctowls got the wrong idea and started to attack him. I wanted to protect him as best as I could. I knew I was no match for them in my pre evolved form, but I fought as hard as I could. Reggie protected me with his body from the attacks. I could feel his body shake with each attack they did. Something inside me sparked and I evolved. I guess the desire to protect him triggered it.r1;

Viper smiled before looking at Ruby.

r0;How about you Ruby? How did you met him?r1;

r0;I was abandoned as a vulpix by my trainer cause I lost a match. It was raining and cold the day I saw him. I was shivering heavily in an alley when I felt something warm surround me. Looking up, I saw his smile as he picked me up, saying I shouldnr17;t be in a nasty place like this and brought me to his home. He had a fire going as he dried me off then fed me a warm meal, the best I ever had.r1;

She smiled remembering that night.

r0;He took care of me from that night on, keeping me fed, a roof over my head, and all the attention I needed. I felt loved and cherished, something my last trainer never showed me. I evolved one night wishing I could repay him for his kindness and love. He was out that night, but when he came home, I pounced him and began to lick his face. He was surprised at my appearance but hugged and congratulated me.r1;

Viper smiled and nodded his head.

r0;It seems you have a great, loving trainer.r1;

They both smiled, pride swelling in their chest as they looked at Reggie who was chuckling with Gerald.

r0;Maybe Ir17;ll tell him how I really feel one day,r1; Ruby said to herself.

r0;I heard about you recent accomplishment. Your reputation of being a famous tracker is starting to spread. Your father would be proud.r1;

Reggie smiled at that. His father was one of the best pokémon trackers around. He could track anything with just a simple piece of fur or trampled grass. He brought Reggie with him at a young age to show him everything there is to know. He showed him how to track footprints, staying downwind, and using the environment to his advantage. Reggie admired his father until he died from illness. Since then, he put what his father taught him for the benefit of helping pokémon.

r0;Ir17;m not that good. I just use the skills I was taught to the limit. My dad was the best.r1; Reggie replied, taking a sip of the herbal tea.

r0;You are modest too. Another good trait you inherited from your father.r1;

Reggie blushed before rubbing the back of head as Gerald looked at his watch.

r0;I need to get going. Have to go shopping with the wife.r1;

r0;Give her my regards, Gerald,r1; Reggie said, standing up and shaking his hand.

r0;I will. Make sure you keep up your training. You are improving at a rapid pace which makes me proud.r1;

r0;Thank you.r1;

r0;Come on Viper.r1;

r0;Cario,r1; Viper replied, standing up and heading to the door with Gerald. Before he left, he looked back at Ruby and Lightning. r0;Make sure you keep him safe. Trainers like him are one in a million.r1;

r0;We will,r1; both Ruby and Lightning said together.

Viper smiled before catching up with Gerald. Reggie watched them leave before giving a stretch and looking at his partners.

r0;What do you say we relax for the rest of the day?r1;

r0;Staraptor,r1; Lightning said happily.

r0;Sounds like a plan Reggie. I could use a good brushing down,r1; Ruby said.

r0;Anything for you my queen,r1; Reggie said, with a chuckle.

Suicune let out a whine as her eyes fluttered open. She stood up weakly and took a look at her surroundings. She was locked inside some kind of large capsule with several wires attached to her body. Machines all around her were humming and clanking. A large tank filled with water was on the other side, attached to a belt with several empty plastic bottles on it.

r0;I see your17;re finally awake my lovely.r1;

She directed her eyes upwards to see the same man that had abducted her standing on a walkway looking down at her.

r0;What do you want with me, human?r1; she growled.

r0;Please, call me Samuel. As for what I want, itr17;s simple. I want to use your power to make my water, the best water in the world.r1;

A screen appeared in front of her showing a map of the area.

r0;With you in my possession, I will pollute the local water supplies so that they have no choice but to use the water that only I supply.r1;

r0;That is a foolish and cruel thing to do. What about all the pokémon that have to drink that polluted water?r1;

He gave an evil grin before smiling at her.

r0;Why should I care about some wild pokémon? With your help in making my water the purest, I will provide for the arear17;s population and rise to the top.r1;

r0;I will never help you.r1;

r0;You donr17;t have to. Those wires attached to you are specially designed to extract power from pokémon.r1;

He snapped his fingers as a vicious jolt rippled through her body making her howl in pain. The wires started to glow as she felt her powers slowly being drained away. He snapped his fingers again as the jolt ended, sending Suicune to her side, panting hard. She let out a growl and tried to bite off the wires, only to receive another jolt coursing through her body.

r0;Tsk tsk, I wouldnr17;t try that if I were you. Those wires are programmed to issue a high jolt of thunder every time they feel any pressure or sharp object.r1;

r0;You are an evil man. You will pay for doing this to me,r1; Suicune growled angrily.

r0;Not in this lifetime,r1; he chuckled as a small screen appeared behind him.

r0;Sir, we are ready to start.r1;

r0;Good. Commence the operation. Itr17;s time to make the world come to me.r1;

He laughed before walking away as she growled evilly. She examined the glass capsule she was in for a moment, before an idea popped in her head.

r0;Maybe I can break this cage.r1;

She charged full speed into the glass but was repelled back harshly as the glass stood firm. She shook her head from the impact and tried again and again but with no luck. A growl escaped her mouth as she charged up an ice beam, only to get another jolt through her body bringing her to the ground.

r0;How could I let myself be captured like this? I feel so ashamed.r1;

Ruby woke up with a yawn in the middle of the night. She looked over at Reggie who was asleep on his side. She stood up with a stretch before softly padding over and looking him over. His short black hair was messed up a little from tossing in his sleep. She admired his strong body and loving personality. Raising a paw, she slowly caressed his cheek getting a sigh in return.

r0;I will tell you how I feel one day Reggie.r1;

She hopped off the bed without a sound and out the door. She walked up to the front door and used Kinesis to move the door handle as it opened. Walking out, she sat on the front porch looking up at the full moon in the night sky, her tails moving idly with the soft breeze that stirred the dead leaves on the ground. She closed her eyes and let out a sigh before her ears picked up movement above her.

r0;Canr17;t sleep?r1;

She looked up to see Lightning perched on the roof. The moonlight making him look almost like a shadow as he blended in the night sky.

r0;I was asleep, just getting a little air.r1;

Lightning looked at her as she looked down at her paws.

r0;Your17;re thinking about him again arenr17;t you?r1;

She folded her ears and blushed.

r0;Is it that obvious?r1;

r0;A little. The way you act around him is also a dead give away about your feelings towards him. Your17;re lucky her17;s not a pokémon, otherwise he wouldr17;ve picked up on it.r1;

r0;I know. Itr17;s just...r1; she said, before starting up again with a sigh. r0;I donr17;t know if he feels the same way about me.r1;

r0;You never know until you ask.r1;

r0;I will tell him when the time is right. Just.......not now.r1;

r0;If you say so. Just remember, Ruby, the longer you wait, the tougher it will be,r1; Lightning said, before taking off into the air.

Ruby watched him leave before sighing. She knew Lightning was right, but the nervousness kept her from proceeding forward the way she wanted. A whine escaped her before she headed back in, laying next to Reggier17;s bed and going back to sleep.

The man hung up the phone before sighing. A knock was heard on his door as a young lady walked in.

r0;Sir, the meeting is about to begin. Everybody is waiting in the assembly room for you.r1;

r0;Thank you Miki,r1; the man said, getting up.

He grabbed his suit jacket and headed out the long hall decorated with a rich, plush brown rug that led to the elevators. Taking it down, he got off and entered the double doors to an assembly room with a big projection screen. He took a seat as the screen flashed to life showing multiple images of other people.

r0;Good morning gentlemen.r1;

r0;So glad you could us join us Roger,r1; one of the people on the screen said.

r0;So whatr17;s the situation that causes us to meet like this?r1; Roger asked.

r0;Has your water reserve been polluted?r1;

r0;Not that I know of. Why do you ask?r1;

r0;Because last night, both mine, Joesph, and Garyr17;s were.r1;

Roger folded his hands under his chin.

r0;Do you have any clues as to who did it?r1;

r0;Nothing at the moment. We are reviewing the security tapes as we speak and hope to find the cause of it.r1;

r0;Doesnr17;t the god of the water help keep the water clean?r1; Roger asked.

r0;Sources say thatr17;s what Suicune is supposed to do, but it hasnr17;t happened yet,r1; Joesph said.

r0;Well you shouldnr17;t have to worry about it then. Suicune will make your water pure again and available to the public and pokémon alike,r1; Roger responded.

r0;Even still, make sure you keep security tight. Ir17;m going to try and purify the water myself. We have a town and pokémon to take care of, this canr17;t wait on the whims of a god,r1; Gary said, before disappearing from the screen.

The rest of the screens went blank as Roger sat there.

r0;Who would want to poison a townr17;s water supply? It doesnr17;t make any sense.r1;

He walked out the room and back up the elevator to his office and sat down.

r0;Hey, Miki?r1; Roger said, hitting the intercom button.

r0;Yes sir?r1;

r0;Make sure to have our security on high alert for any trespassers.r1;

r0;Yes sir.r1;

r0;Hmm, lets see here, what do I need?r1; Reggie said, looking at the various food items in the store.

r0;You need milk and bread. As well as vegetables for the stew you make.r1; Ruby said next to him.

r0;Ah yes, thatr17;s right. Where would I be without you my queen?r1; he said, scratching her ear making her tails wag happily along with a happy whine.

r0;Probably wandering around lost and hopeless.r1;

r0;Thatr17;s harsh. Ir17;m not that bad am I?r1; he asked, a fake hurt look on his face.

r0;You forgot your wallet when you left today.r1;

Reggie blushed and chuckled, rubbing the back of head with a sheepish grin.

r0;Okay, so Ir17;m a little forgetful at times.r1;

She chuckled and walked at his side as he gathered the items for the week before heading up to the cashier. A lively lady was behind the counter pricing some products when her eye caught him walking up.

r0;Good afternoon Reggie. Hey Ruby,r1; the lady behind the counter said, placing the price gun down

r0;Hey Julie,r1; Reggie said.

r0;Nine,r1; Ruby said, murring happily as she got her chin scratched.

r0;So what brings you by today?r1;

r0;Weekly shopping. Have to keep my supply up.r1;

r0;You should be married by now. You know my offer still stands,r1; Julie said, ringing up his items.

They've known each other for a while and gone on several dates, but he never made that extra step to commit, which is what she wanted.

r0;Sorry Julie. But Ir17;m not the marrying kind. We had our fun together and I enjoyed every minute of it.r1;

r0;Typical male. So unwilling to commit,r1; she joked playfully

Ruby and Julie chuckled together as Reggie blushed.

Reggie looked at the TV in disbelief.

He laughed loudly over the howl of pain as the wire increased their draining power on her.

Reggie sat on top of the hill overlooking the city, Ruby on his left and Lightning on his right. A cool breeze rushed by him rustling the grass, making the trees sway back and forth to the music of the wind. He let out a relaxing sigh and laid back on the grass. The sun shined down its warming rays as he lowered his hat over his face.

Lightning looked at Ruby and nodded his head. Ruby looked at him uncertain but his eyes kept going to Reggie. She sighed and looked at Reggie who had his face hidden by his hat.

Ruby let out a slight growl at the interruption before looking at the person walking up the hill. Reggie sat up to see a young man in a business suit walk up to him.

Reggie looked at his partners before getting up and stretching.

The man lead him to a limo as he, Reggie, and Ruby got in. Lightning took off in the air and followed the limo that brought them to a large building in the middle of town. Getting out, he led them into the building as Reggie and Ruby looked around. Getting into the elevator, they got off at the top floor and walk down to the double doors. The man gave a couple of knocks before looking at Reggie.

Reggie nodded before walking into the room. It had a great view of the city, mainly cause of the large open roof with a small strip of grass with a hole and several golf balls on it. A middle aged man was out there, knocking golf balls off the roof and onto the open field that was behind the building. A Persian, laying by the door, saw them walk in and let out a small growl. Roger stopped in mid swing and looked behind to see Reggie and the Ninetales walk in.

Reggie shook it before leaving his office and back down to the first floor. He walked out the building and stood on the sidewalk before sighing as Lighting landed next to him. Reggie gave him a quick scratch behind his ear before looking at Ruby.

Samuel laughed at this.

r0;Of course it would be in the best interest to lower it. But think of the cost to bottle and ship all across the area. To lower the cost would mean to lower the volume of shipment and thus making people wait longer for the water they so desperately need. I donr17;t think that would be a wise decision.r1;

All the reporters started shouting and snapping pictures as Samuel walked back into his building, a smile on his face. His secretary was there waiting for him, clipboard in hand.

Reggie hopped the fence and hid in the shadows, avoiding the security that was walking around. Ruby hopped the fence with ease and landed without a sound, joining him in the shadows.

r0;What are we doing back here? I thought we were going to research on how to track Suicune?r1; Ruby said.

r0;I know. But something peaked my curiosity about this whole contamination thing. Lightning, keep me informed if you see any weird movement in the area.r1;

Lightning nodded before taking off in the dark sky, pretty much becoming invisible. Reggie made his way to the water reserve and picked a good hiding spot where he could see the whole area easily and sat down.

r0;Now we play the waiting game.r1;

They waited in the shadows as security passed by them. It would be hard to spot them unless you were really looking for them. A couple of minutes passed before Reggie looked at Ruby.

r0;Oh yeah, what did you want to tell me earlier today?r1;

She looked at him before looking at the ground, a blush on her face.

She went quiet as the sound of a struggle could be heard. Reggie heard it too as he took a peek and saw security being knocked out one by one by two Exeggutors using Hypnosis. Lightning joined them in the darkness as they looked on.

r0;Looks like we have company. Letr17;s wait until we can hit them easily.r1;

A man in a pair of jogging pants and t-shirt walked calmly towards the water reserves, the two Exeggutors behind him.

r0;Okay, this is the last one.r1;

r0;Ruby, Lightning, take care of the egg heads. Ir17;ll handle the guy.r1;

r0;No problem Reggie,r1; Ruby said, as Lightning nodded.

The figure reached into his pocket pulling out a vial of some liquid and popped the top.

r0;Now!!r1; Reggie said.

Ruby launched a high power Flamethrower at one while Lightning struck the other with a Take Down attack. The man spun around to see Ruby and Lightning standing there, an evil stare in their eyes.

r0;So, your17;re the one poisoning everything?r1; Reggie said, walking out into the open.

r0;Who are you?r1; the man said.

r0;I should be asking you the same question but itr17;ll probably be a waste of time. Instead, Ir17;m going to stop you from poisoning the water.r1;

r0;Humph, you think you can stop me?r1; the man said, as the Exeggutors got their senses back from the surprise attack.

r0;I donr17;t think I can, I know I can.r1; Reggie smiled.

r0;All right boys, show them how powerful you are.r1;

Lightning and Ruby dodged a flurry of Bullet Seeds as Reggie ran towards the man who smiled. Ruby evaded another Bullet Seed attack before launching another Flamethrower. The Exeggutor glowed as the Flamethrower hit dead center.

r0;Your17;re not so tough I see. This should be an easy fight.r1;

The smoke cleared as the Exeggutor stood firmly after using Protect, all three heads smiling evilly.

r0;If you think that, then we should entertain you to the fullest.r1;

It blurred slightly as an illusion of itself appeared. Ruby stood firm as they both chuckled.

r0;Lets see how easy you think this is now.r1;

They went on the attack, one of them shooting Bullet Seeds as Ruby jumped into the air avoiding the attack. The second launched a large Egg Bomb at the airborne ninetales. Ruby countered using Iron Tail, making it explode as the smoke clouded her vision. When the smoke cleared, she let out a gasp as the Exeggutor was right in front of her.

r0;Your17;re mine.r1;

It slammed into her hard with a Wood Hammer attack sending her rolling onto the ground. She stood up on shaky legs to see another Egg Bomb coming at her full speed. She managed to jump over it as the explosion lifted her higher into the air. She landed on the ground only to get caught again with another Wood Hammer attack to her side, sending her flying into the fence with a yelp.

r0;I thought you said this was going to be an easy fight?r1; both Exeggutors said together.

Ruby let out a growl and stood up slowly, a bit of blood coming from her muzzle which she licked away.

r0;Your17;re tougher then I thought, I give you credit for that. But its time we ended this.r1;

r0;What do you mean we?r1;

Lightning came at one of the Exeggutor with an Aerial Ace attack, taking it out with surprising speed as the illusion disappeared.

r0;Where did you come from!?r1; the Exeggutor said, taking aim with Bullet Seed as Lightning evaded with ease in the air.

Ruby took that chance and charged him with a Quick Attack, stumbling the Exeggutor before following it with a spinning Iron Tail attack, sending it spinning in the air before landing with a thud on the ground. She walked up to it before using Hypnosis, putting it to sleep. Lightning landed next to her as she smiled.

r0;Are you okay? Sorry I took so long.r1;

r0;Just fine. A little bruised but nothing I canr17;t handle. Thanks for the assist.r1; Ruby said back.

r0;I see you guys are okay,r1; Reggie said, walking up to them.

He had the man tied up with his own shirt, a little bit of blood coming from the side of his mouth as he wiped it off with a quick swipe of his hand.

r0;Never better. He got a couple of cheap shots but it was nothing.r1;

Soon, the lights came on as police and security arrived at the scene. Roger squeezed through and was shocked at the scene before him.

r0;Whatr17;s happening here? Why are you here? Who is that man?r1;

r0;Thatr17;s what wer17;re going to find out. Ruby, confuse the poor man for me while I ask him some question.r1;

Rubyr17;s eyes glowed as the man stared blankly. Reggie smiled before kneeling down and looking at the man.

r0;Have you completed your job?r1; Reggie asked, trying to make the man give up the information.

r0;No sir Mr. Glassburg. I think he hired somebody to protect the water reserves.r1; the man replied.

r0;I see. That is all. Ruby, if you please.r1;

Ruby hit him with Hypnosis as the man fell to the floor.

r0;I guess you were right about Samuel, Roger.r1; Reggie said.

r0;Good. We have all the evidence needed to take him into custody.r1;

r0;Not so fast,r1; Reggie said. r0;Donr17;t arrest him just yet.r1;

r0;Why not? We have all the evidence needed right here. What do you suggest we do then?r1;

Reggie smiled before petting Ruby and Lightning making them murr softly.

Reggie looked through the binoculars at the large factory from the hill he was on. Through confusion and hypnosis, he managed to trick the guy into leading him to the Galaxy Bottling Factory. It was still night out as the half moon casted it rays down on the earth give Reggie the perfect light source.

r0;Therer17;s has to be an entrance point somewhere. Maybe Lightning will find it.r1; Ruby said.

He took another look at the guards, each of them accompanied by a Houndoom. He never did like Houndooms. Never could get along with them for some reason. Lightning appeared in the sky before landing next to Reggie.

r0;Damn, heavily fortified all around. Going to be tough getting in to sneak a peek. Unless...r1; he trailed off, looking at the truck he heard that was coming down the trail. r0;Perfect.r1;

The truck stopped at the gate as the guard used the Houndoom to sniff all around it for anything out of the ordinary. Getting the green light, it proceeded inside to the loading dock. There, it back into the dock before coming to a stop as the driver got out.

Closing the door, he walked off and into the building. Reggie peeked out from the top of the truck hearing the door close. Seeing that the coast was clear, he hopped down before hiding under it.

He hid in the darkness as a passing guard walked by him, luckily with no Houndoom as he grabbed him and knocked him out.

With the switch of clothes, which were a tad tight, he hid the body in a dark corner and proceeded to the locked door. Using the guards ID, he managed to gain entry. He walked in as the plant looked to be closed for the night. The smell of machine oil was heavy in the air. The only light he saw was coming from the far end of the room so he walked over there, making sure to look causal so not to rouse attention to himself. Reaching the light, his mouth dropped as he saw the capsule and what was being held inside.

He heard voices above him on the walkway as he hid in the darkness.

She got to her feet weakly before padding over to the glass. Her flowing mane still moving on its own as Reggie just stood there, admiring her beauty.

She smiled as Reggie looked at the glass again.

Reggie smiled before heading out the way he came. He saw a golf cart and hopped in, driving to the security exit where a guard was stationed.

He drove the golf cart down the road, making sure to take the back way in case he was followed. Before he made it home, he dropped the cart off at the local store, wiping the wheel clean of fingerprints before walking back home. It wasn't that bad of a walk as it gave Reggie time to think. Opening the door to his house, he saw Ruby and Lightning waiting for him.

Samuel walked down the metal walkway and into his executive office where the man was waiting for him with the two Exeggutors. Samuel took a seat and put his feet up on the desk.

Samuel watched him leave before smiling a huge smile.
