A dragoon's tale

A Dragoons tale

Dhara was a Dragoon Knight. Dhara was also a Furret. However, he had not hatched his Wyvern from its egg.

"I... I don't get it." Said Dhara kneeling on the ground holding his Wyvern egg. "Why hasn't it hatched?"

"You think talking to it will help?" Sneered a voice.

Dhara knew who the voice belonged to. He rolled over the wyvern egg and drew his lance.

"Come out Slovik! I know your hiding out there." He shouted.

Nothing happened. Then a Slovik flew out into Dhara's unprotected back. He too was a furret. But only a thief and a coward. The kind who would only strike from behind. The kind who would get what he wanted no matter who got hurt.

Dhara gasped in pain a wheeled around to fight Slovik. But he had disappeared again.

Dhara heard a noise behind him. He turned to see Slovik hold his Wyvern egg. Dhara held his lance like a javelin.

"Put my egg down Slovik!" He ordered.

"You ain't no boss of me, scum!"

"Scum? You're the scum here Slovik. Always trying to out do me in everything." It was true.

Slovik and Dhara had been enemies ever since they met each other. Dhara had seen some unrighteous people before, but Slovik was the worst. He would lie, cheat, steal, thief from anyone anywhere no matter who they were. He was always the one to win in combat too. Only because of his uncivilized ways. Instead of fighting like and other person would, he would find somewhere to hide. Then stab them in the back to slay them outright and would always over brag and make up how he killed them. Slovik cheated in everyway possible.

Slovik, however, had seen Dhara as too weak to fight for his chivalrous ways. Fair fighting, equally equipped and no cheating. Slovik had always said he was pathetic and would die in a 'real' fight. Dhara had also always fought till first blood. Meaning the first to cut the other and make them bleed wins. He had never killed anyone who didn't deserve it.

Both Slovik and Dhara had set out to prove themselves as Dragoons. This involved finding a Wyvern egg, and hatching it. Dhara had done this, but Slovik saw Wyverns to be weak and lame. So he instead got a Flygon egg. It had hatched already, but Dhara's still showed no sign in hatching. He had already picked out a name for his Wyvern to be. He had picked the name Azure.

"Hand back the egg!" Dhara said.

"Okay. Catch!" He said and feigned a throw. Dhara fell for it dropped his lance and stumbled forwards falling flat on his face. Slovik laughed.

"Slovik!" Said Dhara getting his lance and standing up right. "Hand it back."

"How about this? We fight?" He replied smiling.

"What? You can't do that." Said Dhara shocked. "I found that egg. It's mine. You can just gamble something that isn't yours."

"Oh yeah? Well... I just did. Rygor! Strike!"

Dhara knew his pets name and knew Slovik had trained it to fight like I coward. He fell forwards and a Vibrava flew over him just missing. He got back up and made a run for his egg.

Slovik swung his spear from his left in a leg sweep fashion, nearly knocking Dhara of the cliff.

Dhara got up but was hit back down as Rygor knocked into him.

Slovik laughed. He had Dhara right where he wanted him to be. He got Dhara's egg.

"Want you egg back?" He said holding it off the cliff.

Dhara's eyes want wide with shock.

"Catch." Slovik said dropping the egg.

Dhara let one paw go to catch his falling egg... but missed. The egg fell right to the ground.

Slovik laughed out loud at what he had just done. Dhara was in disbelieve. He had just lost his Wyvern egg.

Slovik was still laughing as anger built up inside Dhara. He put both his foot paws onto a small ledge and jumped up high.

Dragoons had the ability to jump much higher than anyone else. This is for attacking dragons while they're airborne.

Dhara landed on the ground some of the ground cracked as he landed. His rage was now uncontrollable.

"Murderer!" He screamed and ran a Slovik with his lance pointing towards him. Slovik stood there smiling as Rygor flew straight into Dhara's head, knocking him now the steps that lead up to the top. He was on the sand where he was before, with the sandstorm still blowing, never ending. Slovik jumped down.

"Murderer? How could you? It was an... Accident." Slovik said still smiling.

"I will wipe that grin of you're face Slovik!" Dhara yelled and ran towards him again.

Slovik stepped to his right and kicked Dhara as he ran past.

Before he had time to recover, Slovik jabbed Dhara with his spear.

Dhara gasped in pain and the spear head with through his amour and pieced his skin. Slovik pulled in out and Dhara fell and his paws and knees clutching his chest where the wound was.

"It's over for you." Slovik said. Dhara looked up at him.

Slovik swung the butt of hit spear into Dhara's head. The butt connected with Dhara chin with a thud and knocked him against the wall senseless.

At the bottom of a cliff. An empty egg shell lay. Footsteps are near it too leading away from it and to the volcanic ash filled plains.

In this plain a creature is walking. Very slowly but walking none the less. It seems that Dhara's egg did hatch after all but only after the fall or maybe the fall made the egg hatch.

Only on thing is certain. This isn't a Wyvern. It's a small Bagon. Dhara's Azure was a Bagon!

The little Azure didn't know why but it was being told to go to Mt. Meteor. He had been told by his mind he would be safe there, so he walked on a gut instinct that told him where to go.

He stopped by a tree and sneezed as some on the ash went up his nose. Azure felt lonely, and cold, and very afraid. He curled up by the tree and fell asleep.

* * *

Under the same star filled sky, Dhara regained consensus. He looked up slowly at the sky. He immediately tried to get up but the pain in his chest was too much. He fell, feeling defeated back down.

He thought back to what happened, and hung his head and began the weep over his lost egg. It was gone for good. That cheat Slovik had won.

Dhara stopped. That cheat. That flea ridden lying scumbag. That... that...

Dhara turned to grab his lance, but it was gone. Instead Slovaks lance lay there. Slovik must have taken it.

He grabbed it anyway, clutching it tight.

"Azure, I will avenge you." He said to himself. "Slovik, you days are coming to an end. I will send you and Rygor to hells gates. No matter what gets in my way I will have vengeance."

He lay there for a little while longer. Until sleep took over him and he fell asleep.

* * *

Dhara opened his eyes. It was daylight. But... he was not in the sand. He was... in front of a huge mountain. There was a cave entrance to this mountain. And a pokémon of some sort came out of it and walked towards Dhara. He hadn't seen anything like it. It looked dragonish but with no wings, just a blue, dragon like thing with mean looking eyes and some sort of hard silvery skin on its head that looked like hair.

It stopped in front of him and stared at him. Dhara stared back.

There was a pause between them. Then the creature spoke.

"Dhara, please. Come to this mountain. I am Azure. Please come to this mountain with me."

"Azure?" Said Dhara unsure. "Is that you?"

Dhara's vision faded and turned white.

"Azure! Azure! Wait!" He shouted into nothingness.

Dhara woke suddenly. His mouth full of sand and fur full of sand. The pain in his chest had gone. Or nearly all gone. It hurt still but he could get up and walk.

He shook the sand out of his fur and spat it out of his mouth.

He thought back to his dream. He knew that mountain. That was Mt. Meteor. He knew how to get there. He was sure he had to get there. There might be a chance that Azure is there.

With a renewed hope that he might not be pet less he strapped Slovik's Spear to his back and set of to Mt. Chimney.

* * *

He got to the base of Mt. Chimney. He smiled. He knew what to do here. He squatted down and put his forepaws on the ground. Then he pushed off with all fours.

He sailed high up Mt. Chimney nearing the top. When he started to feel his speed slowing, he got out his spear and thrust himself forwards. His spear stabbed the mountain side and he hung there for a while. He smiled. He climbed up the rest of the mountain and pulled the spear out.

"Ey! What do ya think you're doing?" He turned with his spear ready for combat.

Thugs, that's all they were. Just stupid Thugs thinking they could take on this new comer. There was a Toakoal, Machop and Machoke.

"I'm just passing over here. Don't mind me." Dhara said.

"Oh no you don't." Said the Toakoal blocking his way.

"You're trespassing see?" said the Machop. "This is our land and we gonna have to throw you off. Get 'im Okie!"

The Machoke, obviously Okie ran toward Dhara.

Dhara lashed out with his spear cutting Okie on the chest. Okie reared around and went at him with a Low Kick.

Dhara jumped up in the air and went Okie was under him fell down onto his stomach, winding him.

Dhara then kicked him and he rolled down the hill.

"Anyone else wanna try?" He asked turning to the Toakoal and Machop, but they had already left the scene.

Dhara chuckled. They had even left some Lava cookies behind them.

"Thanks." He said and walked to the other said of the mountain munching on the cookies.

* * *

Dragoons had the ability to jump at least a mile high and still land perfectly on their feet with out damaging their body at all. As Dhara reached the end of Mt.Chimney he took advantage of this and jumped off the mountain.

He rose at least a mile high and then fell, a mile higher than Mt.Chimney, landing perfectly on his hind paws.

Ash flew up in a massive ash cloud as he hit the ground which was covered in ash.

He smiled. "Oh the abilities of jump." He said to himself.

* * *

Azure had been learning a few tricks too.

He was recently attacked by Machop who he had accidentally disturbed.

The Machop charged at him and he only tried to fly away. But this only ended with the Machop ramming into him sending him flying away.

Azure lowed his head and charged back and the Machop, who crossed his hands in front of him trying to defend him self against the powerful head butt.

Azure's head connected to the Machops hands with a loud crack. He winced as pain run through his hands, but Azure wasn't finished yet. After the Head butt he jumped into the air, opened his mouth and shot out a haze of ice, chilling the Machop to the bone.

Defeated, that Machop ran away.

Azure smiled. His first fight and his first victory.

Not more than 50 yards away a huge ash cloud arose from the earth. Azure chose to ignore it. Whatever it was had to be bigger than him so he picked up his ace and carried on.

* * *

Azure reached Mt.Metor. This was where he was told to come to. He went inside.

* * *

Moments later Dhara, who had jumped straight to the entrance, rather than going around and up the steps, arrived too and also went inside.

* * *

Dhara saw a big water fall in front of him. And a creator near him too. But it was the creator that interested him. There was something in it.

He moved closer, sensing it wasn't dangerous.

It turned out to be a bluish little dragon. It seemed to be looking for something.

Dhara's dream came back to him. Images of Azure flooded through his head. Then he snapped back to reality.

"Azure?" He called out to it.

The dragon jumped and spun around.

Images flashed through Azure's head of his master, Dhara.

He made a happy screeching sound and ran towards Dhara.

"Azure!" Dhara called out happily running towards him.

Azure jumped into his master's arms. Now they were Wyvern and Dragoon Knight. They were one together.

* * *

Days afterwards Dhara and Azure trained in Mt.Metor, taking out all others that attacked them and that attacked others.

By now Azure had changed. He had left his Bagon state and had evolved into a Shelgon, which actually looked like a giant turtle.

All this time they had never climbed up the waterfall. Dhara didn't want to because he didn't want to leave Azure behind.

But finally they went over to it.

Dhara picked Azure up and got ready to jump.

"Hold on." He warned Azure as he jumped towards the left had side of the waterfall.

As he got to his highest part of the jump the fur on his head brushed the top of the cave, and he and Azure landed safely on the ground near the waterfall.

There was a door way next to where the stream was. Dhara went into it.

He found himself in a small room with nothing much in it. So he left. As he did he heard a growling voice.

"Who dare to come up here?"

Dhara looked around with Azure psyching up, sensing this was a foe not a friend.

"Just me," Dhara spoke back. "Just exploring."

"Exploring, eh?" Said the voice. "Explores die to me!"

I huge black figure swooped down. It was a Salamence. Only with this one where it was blue it was black, and his eyes were glowing red.

Dhara unshoulded his spear and Azure flew at it scratching it. Dhara jumped.

He jumped about 3 meters off the ground and began spinning, creating a horizontal tornado with a purple tinge. His arm was visibly seen with his spear dimly through the hue. His spear glowed madly absorbing all the light from it's surroundings creating a sphere of bright light around him.

The area around him grew dark, everywhere is illuminated by him. He has no been spinning furiously enough that he has blasted a hole through the top of Mt.Metor, he is now a mile high from the ground.

His spinning spear is increasing speed, as he descends; flying through the air, the sound of a roaring dragon is created. He stops spinning his spear and thrusts in into the Doppelganger Salamence.

Silence reigns for a few seconds, the beams of brilliant purple light shoot up from the ground engulfing the Salamence.

He jumps back still slightly pulsating with energy which had been absorbed.

The Doppelganger roared in pain and swung his claw at Dhara. Dhara merely swung his shaft of the spear at the claw and parried the attack.

Dhara then pulled his spear back and yelled,

"Penta Thrust!"

He thrust his spear five times into the Salamence.

The Salamence fell to his knees near death. Then Azure jumped up, did a flip in mid air, then shot a blast of fire from his mouth.

The Doppelganger Salamence fell, dead. His body slowly disintegrated away.

Left in where he lay, laid some shiny pieces of metal. Dhara inspected them.

They looked like pieces of amour.

The body piece was a brilliant shade of dark purple metal attached to thick, tough, brown leather, as was the other pieces of amour. The shoulder parts of it was lined with a lighter, creamier shade of purple, and on the right part of it a pattern curled making a dragon tail. In the middle of it, where a necklace would normally hang, there was a dragon head made of the same creamy purple that lined the shoulder pads of the amour. Two strips of metal, one on the right and left side of the body amour, hung, decorated in the creamy purple. The stitching was visible on the back.

The head was a normal dome like design but it had pieces of metal coming out of it, give the effect of it having wings. There was a piece of headgear that came down from in and went around the neck, securing in place.

The gauntlets where made out of tough leather, but on top there was a piece of metal covering the top half. At the base of the metal the creamy colored purple made the image of a spike in the middle.

The brais were made of the same tough, brown leather as the gauntlets and the stitching on the sides facing out wards was visible.

The greaves had a stripe of lighter purple running from under the knee cap in the front of the foot which then meet with some silver that closely resembled three spikes pointing upwards. On either side on this lighter purple strip was the same darker purple. The heels were silver caps and so was the toe caps, and on the knee cap a decorative pattern of whispery lines and a dragons tail shone.

Amongst the amour was a weapon too. It looked like a battle fork or a trident.

It was a dark shade of blue with bluish grey grip around the middle about a hands width long with two golden rings on the top and bottom. The primary point in the middle was tipped with silver. On either side the point the same blue colored metal curved outwards. These had semicircular sliver blades mounted on them. Another smaller bluish grey grip was at the bottom of the trident shaft.

Dhara smiled and discarded his old spear and amour and took the new ones left behind from the Salamence.

After them put them one he went to go look at himself in the water.

He looked much more like a Dragoon now.

He stared and remembered Slovik. That scum was still out there unpunished. He must hunt him down. Now.

"What do you think Azure?" He asked. But Azure was glowing white. His shape growing bigger.

"That's a yes then." He said smiling. "Let's go."

* * *

It wasn't long till he found Slovik. He was outside the exit of Mt.Metor, just down south.

He jumped down in front of him.

Slovik jumped then smiled as he saw him.

"Well hello old... pal." He said sneering. "Found yourself a new pet yet?"

Anger rose inside him but he kept it hidden.

"You will pay for what you have done, Slovik." He said in a calm voice.

Slovik growled and jumped at Dhara attempting to pierce him falling from the sky. Dhara stood firm and kept calm. Just when Slovik was only a feet away from him, Dhara un-shouldered his spear and held it with both paws, one at the top and one at the bottom, leaned back and held it in line to his head.

As Slovik came down his spear colliding with Dhara's. His Jump attack failed. He landed on the ground with both foot paws with his spear still pressing against Dhara's. With a might shove from his spear, Dhara sent Slovik sprawling head over heels. Growling he picked himself him.

"Your shameful life ends now." Said Dhara as he threw back his head and arms, the way all Dragoons do to summon their Wyvern.

"Ha! You think that'll fool me?" Slovik said mockingly. "Think that a Wyvern will fall from the sky and . . . Yaaaagh!"
From the sky a Salamence swooped down and picked up Slovik.

"Drop me now scum!" He shouted at it an attempted to stab it with his spear. It proved to be ineffective as the Salamence didn't even flinch.
The Salamence flew in a loop and, as it came back to where it picked up Slovik, threw him into the ground. It then flew back to Dhara.

"Azure, attack!" He told it and pointed his spear straight at Slovik.
With that the Salamence flew towards Slovik as Dhara run towards him.
Slovik smiled. "Rygor, attack!" he yelled pointing at Azure.

A Flygon flew from the sky and went straight into attacking Azure. While they're Wyverns fought each other, the two Dragoons started they're own fight.
Dhara's wyrm amour gleamed dully as he charged forwards into Slovik, swinging his Gungnir into him. Slovik was knocked roughly aside but recovered and stabbed Dhara's chest just like before. However, Dhara was better equipped this time and Slovik's cement lance had no chance on penetrating Dhara's Wyrm mail.
Dhara came back, stabbing Slovik in the chest. Slovik's Gavial amour was torn easily and as Dhara pulled his Gungnir out it took some of Slovik's amour with it.

"See how easily to lose in honest combat?" Dhara asked Slovik, who was now clutching his bleeding chest.

"To hell with you! Rygor! Attack Dhara!" Nothing happened. "Rygor! Attack now!" Still nothing.

Azure flew up to Dhara.

"Good job Azure." He said.
Slovik then sighted Rygor's body. It lay littered in claw and teeth marks and was bleeding from every wound.

"You'll pay for this!" He roared at Dhara and charged into him, eyes red with madness.
Dhara spun around in a half circle and thrust his Gungnir backwards, the butt hitting Slovik. Then he spun back facing Slovik and thrust his trident into Slovik.

Blood frothed in Slovik's throat as he let out a gurgling cry. Dhara's trident had gone right the way through Slovik's chest. Dhara tugged his Gungnir and pulled it out of Slovik saying "May you rest at hells gate forevermore." With that Slovik fell to the ground, eyes still staring in disbelieve that he had been defeated, blood pouring from his chest and mouth.

Dhara stayed still for a while thinking of all that had happened to him. He then walked over to Azure, who had been in the resting position. Dhara climbed on his back.

Pointing forwards with his trident he said "Azure, fly." With that Azure took of from the ground a flew away from the plains.
