Chapter 2: Escape
Jade screamed. Brennan flinched as he heard the gunshots. He tensed, anticipating the force of impact from the bullets and the sickeningly soft 'thud' as they embedded themselves in his flesh, but it never came. Instead, sharp 'pangs' resounded through the room.
Brennan plowed ungracefully into the Machoke, recomposed himself atop Jade's captor, and pulled his fist back to pummel the face of the very being that shouldn't have even existed to begin with; however, he hesitated at what he saw. Blood flowed freely from two holes in the pokemon's chest and stained the lower part of Brennan's white gown.
He rolled off the dead pokemon and looked up just in time as the butt ends of two rifles met his face. He staggered back and fell, face in hands, teeth clenched in pain.
Raising his arms to block his face and ward off any more blows, he felt nothing strike his arms. Instead, the smell of charred flesh met his nostrils. Blinking, he looked up and saw Jade, her two arms extended, pointing toward two burnt bodies on the ground. She was on the verge of tears, and collapsed to her knees where she stood.
Brennan slid over to her, wiping the blood from his nose, "Are you ok?" he asked, eyes scanning the room to see what happened to the other two guards. One sat slumped against the wall, the familiar crimson liquid leaking from his head. The other lay on his back, one hand clutched to his chest. His breathing was rapid as indicated by the quick rise and fall of his chest.
Jade nodded silently, a single tear trailing down her cheek. Brennan nodded, grabbed a clean sheet from his own bed, and wrapped it around her. He hoped that it would help in protecting him if he touched her to prevent getting himself electrocuted. Wrapping his arms around her, he hugged her, and to his relief, wasn't shocked.
She did her best not to cry, but her lip did tremble slightly. He held her at arms length, "How did they die?" he nodded to the Machoke and two guards that she hadn't electrocuted.
"They did so much to you...," she shook her head, "I don't know. You made a shield or something and the bullets ricocheted away. I thought you were...going to die."
Brennan thought for a moment then helped her to stand. He didn't believe any of it, but the proof was right in front of his face. Walking over to the bed, he picked up the rifle he had dropped. The M16 trembled in his hands. Raising a hand in front of his face, he saw it shaking badly.
Jade hesitated then followed Brennan. When she placed herself next to him, he turned and offered her the gun. She simply shook her head, a look of mild horror on her face. Brennan withdrew it, holding it at a ready position and walked over to the live guard. The guard looked at him, but did nothing more. Brennan closed the door and pushed the dead guard's body in front of it, then dragged the live one behind the console.
Jade wandered amongst the dead, sniffling back tears as she searched for nothing in particular. She heard the guard gasp loudly and looked up. He had his hands up, his back against the console. Brennan had the rifle shouldered and pointed at the guard.
"No!" the guard begged, "Don't, please!"
"What the hell is going on?!" Brennan demanded.
Jade walked over to Brennan. She was quite calm now, and raised a steady hand to push the gun aside. He glared at her for a moment, unmoving, but gave in and stood aside. She crouched in front of the guard.
"Please...I was just doing my job," the guard breathed.
"And what was that?" Jade questioned softly. Brennan had wandered off and began stripping the guard by the door. He removed the boots, pants, shirt, and finally came to a vest hidden beneath the shirt. He left it on the body and stood, glancing at the live guard.
"To make sure the doctors don't get hurt and you don't get out..." he answered hesitantly.
BANG
Both Jade and the guard flinched and looked at Brennan. He lowered the rifle from his shoulder, its aim previously trained on the dead guard. He walked over and examined the corps's chest, then strode quickly over to the live guard, gun pointed at his face. "Take it off, now!" he yelled.
"What are you doing?" Jade asked scared. The guard looked puzzled.
"Bullet proof vest, Jade, that's why he's not dead. Now take it OFF!"
He hastened to remove it. Brennan spotted an ID card on his belt as he offered the vest to him. Brennan snagged the vest from him and gave it to Jade, "Here, please wear this." She complied without argument. It was a little big, but not too bad.
"Strip," Brennan ordered, and the guard promptly set to work. As he gave up his clothing, Brennan turned it over to Jade, and she dressed herself. The guard was a smallish guy, so it all fit her well.
Brennan took the ID and looked at it. "Congratulations Jones, you've just become our guide," he said, a malicious smirk upon his face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a lot of moving, stripping, and redressing, Jones stood in doctor garb, Brennan in the dead guard's clothing that matched Jade's exactly, and Jade had been armed with a rifle. They all stocked up on ammunition except for Jones, each with a standard issue M16, Berretta 9mm, and a radio to avoid security.
They shoved the body aside from in front of the door, and prepared to have Jones lead them out. However, before they started, Brennan asked, "Hey, are those windows?" nodding to the walls.
Jones nodded, "Yes, but it's almost midnight. Hardly anyone is on duty."
"For your sake, I hope you're telling the truth," Brennan muttered in Jones' ear as Jade opened the door.
Behind the door was a long white hallway with plain doors on either side. Beside each door was a window, one-way-seeing windows Brennan assumed.
"What the hell is all this...this facility, this...crap, what is it for?" he asked Jones as they strode down the hall.
"I'm not sure, I'm just security," he said, glancing over his shoulder at Brennan. Brennan glared at Jones and Jones swallowed, "But I think it's a testing facility."
"For what?" Brennan prompted.
"To cross humans and pokemon."
Brennan stopped in his tracks. "But they aren't..." he trailed off as his gaze looked through the first window, "...real," he concluded half-heartedly. He stepped up to the window to make sure what he was seeing was real. Behind the door, there was a small habitat. He watched as a Nidorina wandered by the window and a Lotad crawled out of an artificial pond.
"No...way..." he breathed, "I used to collect the cards and play the games but...this can't be..." Brennan looked toward the next door, curiosity creeping across his features. He walked to it and looked inside the window. It wasn't green and lush as the previous one, but hot and volcanic. Magma flowed as a river in this room in one corner and expanded into a desert type landscape in the other. Brennan kept shaking his head in disbelief as he watched a sandslash burrow into the desert ground and a charmeleon soundly sleeping near the magma.
Brennan's world came crashing back to reality as he heard a new voice behind him, "Hey." It was another doctor, striding toward Jones with a grin on his face, "We finally did it, we got that boy to retain the abilities and attributes of pokemon."
Brennan turned and Jade saw something she hoped never to see again. He was absolutely livid, teeth bared, thumb flicking the safety off. She didn't even recognize him at that moment. Pain and anger shone brightly in his eyes, "I know," he snarled as the rifle was placed to his shoulder and aimed at the doctor.
The new doctor stopped suddenly, fear controlling his face as terror became the dominant feature. He stood about twenty paces from Brennan unmoving. His legs wouldn't obey his silent will to run, just stood there as though frozen
Brennan's finger tensed, squeezing the trigger slowly. Jade stepped forward quickly and laid a hand on his. "Don't, please..." she said. His eyes turned to look at her from the corner of his eyes, "...for me?" she finished. Brennon lowered his weapon after a moment that seemed to stretch for hours. The doctor let out a ragged breath but kept his hands in the air.
"Why?" he asked turning to Jade, "Why keep this bastard," he pointed a finger toward the doctor, "alive when he has ruined our lives?" His voice trembled with fury, but he spoke as calmly as possible.
Jade opened her mouth to answer, but stopped to hear what the doctor was muttering to himself.
"Then it is true, just as they said it was..." he mumbled, trailing off as he realized he was being watched by the other three.
Brennan stepped toward the doctor, beginning to raise his gun again, when Jade placed a calming hand on his chest, holding him back. She looked into his eyes and shook her head softly. Brennan bowed his head slightly and took a step back to where he was before.
Jones had grown to fear Brennan's anger in the short time he knew him. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw what control Jade had over him. Jones cleared his dry throat and swallowed, watching as Jade stepped toward the doctor.
"Your name is..." she prompted, stopping before him.
"Doctor...Doctor Calder," he answered, nervously taking a step back.
Jade extended a hand toward him, "Jade."
He took her hand after a moment's hesitation and shook it. "I know, but...good to meet you." He stuttered and gasped as she yanked him toward herself.
"You see Brennan there over my shoulder?" she whispered in his ear. He glanced over her shoulder at him. Brennan ran the bolt on his M16, and with a resounding cha-chink, a bullet was inserted into the chamber and the bullet that was in the chamber previously was ejected out. With a quick hand, he lashed out and caught the bullet. Calder swallowed and nodded. "Good, now, listen carefully. If you don't answer my questions, or his, I'll let him have you." She pushed Calder away and smiled at him. "Where can we go to talk," she asked and added, "in private?"
Doctor Calder nodded, turned, and started walking, his gait jolty and shaken. Jones fell in step behind Calder, Jade and Brennan side-by-side, came last.
The doctor led them to the end of the hall and turned left. This hall was empty, but looked just the same as the one they were in; white walls, white doors, and long. Above each door extended a simple brown sign, each with a name. They stopped four doors down under the one marked 'Dr. Calder' and entered. Calder held the door open for them, but when Brennan walked in last, he pushed Calder in and shut and locked the door, turning and standing guard in front of it.
The room was a plain little office, though it wasn't white to Brennan's relief. In the center was a desk with paperwork scattered across it, a chair behind it and a bookcase behind that that stretched across the whole back wall. Two more chairs were before the desk, one of which Jones plopped into. The other was dragged next to Brennan where Jade then sat.
Jones was resigned. He wasn't going to die for doing something stupid so he cooperated without much convincing. Besides, he had only taken the job of security guard because the pay was good and he got to carry a gun around and shoot it occasionally for practice, what every other 18 year old like him wanted. In his mind, he was becoming pretty chummy with these two anyway and hoped that maybe he could stick around with them.
Doctor Calder had other plans. He was extremely scared and his mind raced. He didn't want to die, but he didn't want his two most successful experiments to get away. Consequently, his mind worked at finding a way to get them caught, and right now it looked like he would have to engross the pair in deep conversation for a few more hours until morning when the full staff and security would arrive.
Brennan swung his rifle on his shoulder by the sling and drew the pistol, checking the barrel through the chamber by pulling the bolt back. Satisfied, he let go putting a round in the chamber. He clicked the safety off then looked at Calder, letting the gun hang in his grip at his side.
"Doctor Calder," he began calmly, eyes piercing into Calder's skull, "What the hell is this, all of it? How are we involved? What..." his voice gained in intensity as he kept throwing questions at the doctor until he was interrupted. Jade had grabbed his free hand. His hand closed over hers and he continued, "explain everything. From the start when we got involved."
Calder's mind still whirred. He took a deep breath and began, trying to make his explanation long-winded to keep them longer. Jones was smiling, wanting to hear it all. He found it all pretty interesting and didn't mind knowing.
"A pokemon had escaped. We sent a search team for it, to go above the ground and find it before someone...else saw it." He took a deep breath to clear his mind, "They split up and eventually one of our guys found it. He was about to catch it when you stumbled in on him."
Brennan's mind was suddenly filled with the vivid memory of that moment. His bleeding face, getting shot, Jade...Jayce!
"The team brought you and her in here and..."
"What happened to Jayce?"
"Well...the man who shot him said that he missed," Brennan almost sighed, then froze up; the doctor hadn't stopped speaking. "But the second hit him, somewhere in the lower torso."
Brennan regained his composure quickly, noting it wasn't a chest or head shot, so maybe Jayce was here with them. "But where is he?" Brennan snapped.
"He left him there, said he was dead."
"You son of a bitch..." he said stepping forward again, raising the Berretta. Jade pulled on his hand and he stopped, breathing heavy. Calder had knocked his chair over and fallen out of it in his haste to get away from Brennan, and Jones had shifted away as to not be in between the two. A silence stretched on as Brennan regained control of himself and his breathing calmed. Calder righted his chair shakily, sat down, and continued.
"You were almost dead when they arrived with you. Concussion, collapsed lung, two broken ribs..." he shook his head, "we did everything we could to help, then waited to see if you improved or...you didn't."
Brennan's hand with the pistol unconsciously rose to his side where he was shot.
"You seemed well, became stable, but remained in a coma. We put the pair of you in an observation room. We questioned Jade, dug into both of your pasts, figured out where you lived and who you parents were."
Brennan remembered Jade's cut and bruised face and wondered if that was part of her 'questioning'.
"We got rid of them and most all of the evidence that proved either of you existed. The only thing we couldn't fix was the few people at your school that had seen you every now and then, but they shouldn't be a threat."
"You liar," Brennan whispered, "my parents aren't dead." He refused to believe it, not until he saw it himself.
"By this time, we thought to not let you two go to waste and started testing on you and her. We've had pokemon for some time but we have been trying to interbreed and cross humans and pokemon for eight years now. Why you might ask? To make a better soldier, a sort of 'super soldier' to prove our superiority over other countries, to make them fear us, to ensure an American's safety living in the land of the free," Calder smirked. "We started with you first. We injected your body with genetically altered pokemon cells. We made it so that the surface cell markers were recognized by your body and there were the right amount of chromosomes in each cell. It took us a long time to genetically engineer pokemon cells that would be accepted by the human body, but we finally did; however, nothing happened after it was injected into you. We tried injecting many things into you, still nothing. We replaced parts of your body, including a generous portion of your brain, and still, nothing. The attributes and abilities we gave you continued to lay dormant, just as you did, but fortunately, you didn't die." Calder paused and looked around his desk, spotted a can of soda, grabbed and sipped from it. He cleared his throat and began where he left off, "So we gave up on you and turned to Jade." He smiled at her mockingly and she sneered at him. "She showed the effects of our work almost immediately. We successfully created the first human crossed with a pokemon. We gave her control of electricity and water, implanted tissues in her body and made her quick and agile. We began to train her to control her newly acquired gifts. Then you woke up. We were surprised none-the-less and immediately injected you with an enzyme that would slow down your metablolism and brain function to knock you unconscious to make sure you wouldn't be a large threat. You see, the console you were hooked to monitored the different aspects of each ability you should have acquired to see how much they were being used in your body. The readings had spiked during the brief time you were awake."
Jones broke his prolonged silence while the doctor sipped from his can again, "By spiked, you mean you were able to read the...power, right?"
"What I mean," Calder said, leaning forward and looking at Jones, "is he has the most power we have seen among pokemon...ever. But there is one other," he smiled. The others waited, watching Calder carefully, expecting him to continue.
"Well?" Jones asked, impatient to find out.
"Who is it?" Brennan pushed, still finding it hard to believe any of it.
"You were injected and given control of fire and dark, a portion of your brain being replaced made you of a psychic nature, and your muscle tissue was mostly replaced and you were given strength. Is it not obvious?" Calder had grown excited and was now standing. Brennan glared at him, awaiting an answer. The doctor recomposed himself and sat down once more, "She is your exact opposite," he said, nodding to Jade. "Physically and psychologically, Female versus male, water versus fire, light versus dark, agility versus strength, compassionate nature versus callous nature."
"I wasn't always like this!" Brennan roared, breaking contact with Jade and striding forward, planting both hands on Calder's desk and staring him in the face, "You made me like this!"
Calder leaned back at his tirade, "This is why Jade is here. She is your controller, she has more power, she keeps you in check. Without her, you will destroy yourself and possibly inflict tremendous amounts of damage to everyone, and everything, else."
The whole time, Jade had been silent, contemplating it all. Brennan straightened his back and stood there, letting what was said sink in. Jade stood and slowly walked up behind Brennan, wrapping her arms around him gently.
"Is it not obvious? We have seen several instances already that your rage has been quelled by her touch and her voice. If not for her, Jones and I would not be here right now," Calder finished his explanation.
"That's because I love and respect her," Brennan said so quietly, it was almost a whisper.
"Well yes, that did help. However, say for instance that you attempted to set my desk on fire right now. Her power overwhelms yours; as such, she could put it out without so much as a faint black smudge on its surface."
Brennan didn't do much of anything, just stood there in Jade's arms, mind racing to make sense of it all. Calder glanced at the clock on his desk. 'Damn,' he thought, 'Still have a couple more hours.'
When next he looked up, he found himself staring down the barrel of Brennan's 9mm.
"You're leading us out of this place...now."
Calder swallowed and nodded, standing slowly.
"Turn around and put your hands on the wall."
Calder turned and put his hands on the bookcase. Brennan moved around the desk and quickly patted the doctor down. He removed the electric weapon each doctor seemed to have from his pocket; however, he discovered one other thing. He removed it from the doctor's belt and looked at it. It was a pokeball. Brennan shook his head and set it on the desk, then grabbed the doctor by the back of his collar and roughly guided him to the door. "Jones, take point," Brennan said, dropping into his 'gamer' talk. He had a clan (team) for a game called Halo 2 and operated it in an organized fashion such as the military does, "Guide us to where we can get out of this hell hole. The good doctor," Brennan smirked at Calder, "Will get us past security or whatever else we may need him for."
Jones nodded and stood, passing Brennan, Jade, and Calder and walked outside the door, stopping to look both ways. He turned to the right and started walking. Brennan shoved the doctor before him and they were on their way. Jade went next, and Brennan kept watch on their rear.
As they walked, the halls seemed very empty to Brennan, almost suspiciously. They went along many halls, all the same as the last, all white with signs above them lined with doors and windows.
As they reached the end of the hall in which Calder's office resided, they turned left. This hall was longer than the Office hall. Brennan poked Calder in the back with the rifle to keep him going and decided to steal a glance through one of the windows. Shocked at what he saw, he approached the window and stood there, mouth slightly open. Jade wondered why Brennan was acting as he was and stood next to him to look. They were both staring at a smaller room, all white with a bed in one corner and a toilet and sink in the other. In the center of the room, there was a woman. She was strapped to the ground on her hands and knees. Completely naked, she was crying, absolutely helpless.
A door opened in the back and a doctor walked in. He smiled at the woman and patted the top of her head, standing straight to mark his clipboard momentarily. He set the clipboard on the bed and turned, hand withdrawing a pokeball from his jacket. In a brilliant flash of light, there stood a Mightyena. Brennan knew it well as he normally always had one on the Ruby version game he played.
"Taya..." he said quietly, not believing his eyes. He recognized the person in the center of the room. It was one of his best friends, a girl, who had tried to get Brennan over Jade. Brennan would know her anywhere because of her form. Her gracious curves and gentle face were unforgettable. She was smaller though, but that didn't bother Brennan; all he knew was that she was damn gorgeous. He still had feelings for her of course; however, the three came to an agreement that they would all be good friends, but Jade would be his girlfriend.
A fire was lit within Brennan, fury bubbling its way to the surface once more at seeing her state, emotionally and physically. He turned to Calder, stepping up to him, his face not a centimeter from his.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" he screamed in his face, finger pointing back toward the window. "YOU TOOK MY FRIENDS TOO?!"
"Well I..." Calder began to mumble, staggering back from the outburst and wiping spit flecks from his face.
Brennan grabbed him by his collar and slammed him against the wall, "Why is she here? What are you doing to her?" he demanded, voice a deep snarl.
"We had to get rid of evidence of your existence!" he squeaked hastily. "We didn't want to let her go to waste so we're trying to...to uh..."
Brennan smacked him against the wall again, pinning him there, "Spit it out!"
"Interbreed pokemon and human!"
Brennan blinked at him stupidly, his answer taking him off guard. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked to see Jade pointing at the window. He let go of Calder after a moment and turned to it. The Mightyena had mounted Taya, holding her soft hips firmly. Brennan watched as the Mightyena's erect and quite large shaft plunged into her, watched as her head tilted back, teeth bared, and screamed in pain, watched as the pokemon started hammering himself into her, finding his way deeper and deeper into Taya.
The fire within Brennan erupted. Blinded by rage, his body took control and he acted on impulse. He no longer thought clearly. Body was thrown against the door and with little resistance, it imploded into the room. The doctor within the room was wide-eyed at the entrance.
BANG - BANG
He fell backward onto the bed, staining the sheets with his blood. The Mightyena had dismounted and, at the death of the doctor, lunged at Brennan, teeth bared. The stalk of the rifle met the pokemon's face in mid-air and the Mightyena crumpled to the floor.
BANG
Brennan's heavy breathing was the only sound left in the room. The Mightyena lay motionless at his feet, hole in its head seeping from the gunshot. Taya had stopped crying and was staring, wide-eyed and open-mouthed at Brennan and what just happened. In the doorway Jade stood, hand covering her mouth in disbelief. Calder and Jones stood behind the window, having seen the whole event unfold.
Brennan strode over to Taya and she cringed away from him as though expecting to be beaten. He grabbed each over her bonds and broke them, one at a time. She sat staring at him for a moment, then leaped up and hugged him tightly, sobbing happily.
"Thank you," she whispered.
Brennan's rage dissipated and he blinked, surprised. His arms came up naturally to hug her back. "Are you ok?" he asked.
She nodded silently, then let go. "I thought you were kidnapped or something. You didn't show up at school for three weeks straight. That's not like you."
"Three weeks?" he asked, "We've been here that long?" he asked Jade, turning to her. Jade answered, still shocked at the onslaught, "We've been here a little over two months now."
Brennan turned back to Taya and his eyes caught blood on her. His eyes examined her body. Blood was on her wrists, ankles, and knees where she was bound to the ground. Then he saw her complete immaculate beauty as she stood there in full glory.
Taya blushed as he stared and she turned sideways, covering herself up. Brennan turned around as well, embarrassed. She bent over and retrieved a white shirt and white pants from beneath her bed and put them on. She walked around Brennan and looked into his eyes, "Again, thank you," she said.
Brennan nodded and mumbled something incoherently. He started to walk out, but tripped on the dead pokemon. He looked at it and his whole body went cold. Looking up, he spotted the dead doctor as well. Swallowing, he pivoted on a foot and walked out of the room stiffly. He walked straight at Jones, drew the pistol, and offered it to him. "I need you to keep watch on the Calder...Sean. Long time no see."
Jones blinked, "How do you know who I am?" he asked nervously.
"Yeh signed up for the National Guard and that was the last time I saw you. You came back after...what...22 weeks of basic and AIT?" Brennan asked.
Sean nodded, "Yeah, and I found this easy high-paying job. I thought it was pretty good; got a callsign and everything," he shrugged. "Now I remember who you are. The change in your hair and eye color threw me I think, plus you're a bit more built since the last time I remember you."
"Change?" Brennan asked.
"Yeah, you're hair is like...black as black can get and your eyes are the deepest red I've ever seen."
Calder's eyes darted from one to the other as they conversed. He took his chance and dove for the Berretta. Sean's knee met Calder's stomach before he could reach it. He took the pistol and nodded to Brennan, "Thanks, don't worry about me, I'll keep an eye on him." Calder was spurred into a coughing fit. He was roughly grabbed and pushed ahead of Sean as he made Calder march out in front, himself right behind. Jade went next, then Taya, and finally Brennan. Jade offered Taya her Berretta, but she refused it, shaking her head.
Sean stopped a short distance and turned to Brennan, being careful to keep Calder in view, "Hey man, what about the rest of them?" he asked, nodding to the other rooms. Brennan looked in them and they were all in a similar situation, though he knew none of the occupants. Females were being raped by male pokemon, although the pokemon differed with each room. The next nearest one contained another smaller girl, looked to be a teenager, possibly from his high school, being thrusted into roughly by a Charmeleon. Something was different though, the look on her face. She was enjoying it, meeting each of the pokemon's drives.
"Free the ones that don't look like they're...willin'," Brennan said, moving to the next window. Sean followed suit and started looking into the windows, holding Calder in front of him at all times. As they moved along, they were surprised to see how many of them enjoyed it. There was one other as young as Taya that pleaded and begged and screamed in pain. It was the last door on the opposite side Taya was on in the hall. A bit taller than Taya, she was almost as beautiful. Blonde, straight long hair flowed over her shoulders to lie on the ground. Bright blue eyes and attractive body made her soft on the eyes.
She turned her tear streaked face toward the doctor and continued to plead while a Houndoom pounded away pleasurably at his new toy. The doctor in this room tired of her pleading, she wouldn't shut up when he told her to, so he decided to take advantage of the situation. He shed his pants exposing his already stiff member. He grabbed her hair and forced his shaft passed her tightly pursed lips. Moaning with pleasure, he began to slowly push back and forth within the pleasantly warm orifice.
Brennan and Sean stood outside the window, aiming their rifles at each respectively, Sean at the pokemon and Brennan at the doctor. Jade, with a hold on Calder, and Taya stepped back and plastered themselves against the wall.
BA-BANG
The glass shattered noisily, the doctor slumped forward onto the girl and the Houndoom lay lifeless atop her.
"Good thing for sound-proof walls, eh?" Sean smirked at Brennan as he crumpled the door by slamming into it. Brennan nodded to him as he made his way to the girl. He pushed the doctor off of her face and she coughed, spitting out the doctors seed and sucking in air greedily.
"You ok?" Brennan asked, shoving the Houndoom from her back.
She nodded, "Thank...you..." she managed between gasps.
Brennan broke her bonds and she stood. Immediately the pokemon's seed seeped from between the lovely folds of her sex and down the insides of her legs. Snatching the towel from the sink, Brennan helped her clean herself up, wiping the blood from her back and letting her finish. Like Taya, she retrieved clothes from beneath her bed and quickly dressed.
"I can't believe they would enjoy something like that..." Jade whispered, looking over her shoulder down the hall.
Calder snorted, "They didn't initially. It's chemically induced...most of it," his eyes glanced at the clock in the room and he smirked. 'Only thirty minutes until full security arrives,' he thought.
As though on cue, Sean voiced the doctor's thoughts, "Shit! We've got to move, NOW!" he exclaimed.
Brennan looked at him questioningly, "Why?"
"Half an hour until full security shows up!"
"Sean take point, Taya next, Jade after, Calder and..." Brennan looked at the girl.
"Nikki," she said.
"...Nikki next, and I'll cover our asses. LET'S MOVE"
Sean was already on the move, everyone forming a single file line behind him.
Right turn, left, left, up stairs, left, left, and finally they reached a hall which was noticeably different than the rest. It wasn't white; it was quite tasteful as a matter of fact. Furnished lavishly it seemed to be the foyer of an expensive hotel. They marched straight across it to the other side and up a final set of stairs. At the top was a security checkpoint. Sean stopped and showed them his I.D. He turned his head to a device on the wall and spoke, "Sean Mahoney." It beeped three times and a small green light lit up on the panel.
They waited as Sean entered the small room. Only two security guards were on duty. "Hey guys, how's it going?" Sean asked friendly-like. They stared darkly at him through half open eyes, obviously tired. Sean shrugged and smacked the first guard across the face with the pistol, knocking him unconscious, and pointing it at the last. His eyes widened, "Open the armory." He nodded and scanned his I.D. card on a console against one wall and spoke into a voice recognition device next to where he scanned his I.D. The door slid open slowly and Sean promptly hit the guard in the back of the head. Everyone that was waiting outside went into the armory. It was smaller but had a wide variety of weapons. Brennan immediately started looking for specific guns, Sean and Nikki following suit.
Brennan picked up an M16 equipped with a scope and laser sight. He slammed a magazine into it and ran the bolt. He looked at Nikki and raised a brow, "I grew up shooting rifles," she shrugged, "Lived in South Carolina for a time." She picked up an MP5 and loaded it.
Sean whistled lovingly at what he saw and picked it up, smiling at Brennan, caressing it. He held a SAW, or in Sean's words, a powerful ass machine gun. Brennan shook his head smiling as he picked up a pair of Desert Eagles, strapping the holsters around his legs above his knees. He picked up extra ammo for each and put them all into a belt which he promptly put on. When next he turned back, Sean had a chain of bullets around his shoulders, still caressing the weapon, and Nikki had an MP5 and a standard issue Berretta 9mm. Each of the three grabbed a few grenades each and they left.
Sean led, Jade right behind him with the rifle she kept. They moved single file once more down a very long black hall. At the end was a bright light. As they reached it, they realized it was a door concealed inside a deep cave. They exited the doors and stood at the mouth of the cavern, crouched low. They were in an extremely densely wooded area. Brennan shifted over to Sean's side and whispered into his ear, "Hey, were you part of that search team that found the pokemon...and us?" he asked. Sean nodded. "Take us there then," Brennan instructed.
They arrived at the spot. Brennan searched around quickly, but found nothing. He smiled and turned. It was quickly replaced with a frown, "Where's Calder?" he asked. They all looked around themselves and yet there was no sign of him.
There was a slight hiss and wood splintered off of a tree above Sean. They all crouched low as there were more hisses and thunks as more bullets found their way into wood.
"Security's comin'!" Brennan shouted as the fire became more intense and heavier.
Sean opened up, shooting blindly in the direction they came. "Go! Now!" he shouted, "I'll catch up!"
"Jade, go with Taya and Nikki. Run, run back to where my horses...should be." He hesitated, they were probably dead, "I'm gonna stay and help cover us, go!"
She wavered for a moment, then stood and started running. Taya got up and followed, Nikki behind her. He nodded, satisfied, and turned, picking out shadows of targets and firing off a few rounds at each. He tapped Sean's shoulder and Sean stood. They both turned and started running, stopping to turn and fire off a few rounds to make the enemy keep their heads down.
They got to the clearing where they had the picnic and Brennan saw the three girls' forms laying face forward in the grass, unmoving. He started running forward. Three more forms popped up out of the tall grass in front of the three girls, shotguns pointed toward Brennan, but he didn't stop running.
Cha-chink
Three shotguns cocked, ready to fire now.
BOOM
Sean cried out clutching his chest, dropping the SAW and falling on his back, the hit so powerful he was literally knocked from his feet; however, Brennan didn't see one of the shotguns fire. Maybe he was surrounded. He wasn't sure. He didn't care. All of his friends were dead, all of them. Rage surrounded his world. He picked out one of the three men and made toward him.
Suddenly there was blue. Brennan was on his back, staring at the sky, something heavy on his chest. He couldn't move his arms now. He lashed out with his feet, but they were quickly stopped as well. Shotguns were pointed in his face. He couldn't breath because of the weight on his chest, he couldn't recognize what was going on in his blind rage. Finally, the world went black.
I have made grammar and spelling corrections now xD shoulda done it before.
Jade screamed. Brennan flinched as he heard the gunshots. He tensed, anticipating the force of impact from the bullets and the sickeningly soft 'thud' as they embedded themselves in his flesh, but it never came. Instead, sharp 'pangs' resounded through the room.
Brennan plowed ungracefully into the Machoke, recomposed himself atop Jade's captor, and pulled his fist back to pummel the face of the very being that shouldn't have even existed to begin with; however, he hesitated at what he saw. Blood flowed freely from two holes in the pokemon's chest and stained the lower part of Brennan's white gown.
He rolled off the dead pokemon and looked up just in time as the butt ends of two rifles met his face. He staggered back and fell, face in hands, teeth clenched in pain.
Raising his arms to block his face and ward off any more blows, he felt nothing strike his arms. Instead, the smell of charred flesh met his nostrils. Blinking, he looked up and saw Jade, her two arms extended, pointing toward two burnt bodies on the ground. She was on the verge of tears, and collapsed to her knees where she stood.
Brennan slid over to her, wiping the blood from his nose, "Are you ok?" he asked, eyes scanning the room to see what happened to the other two guards. One sat slumped against the wall, the familiar crimson liquid leaking from his head. The other lay on his back, one hand clutched to his chest. His breathing was rapid as indicated by the quick rise and fall of his chest.
Jade nodded silently, a single tear trailing down her cheek. Brennan nodded, grabbed a clean sheet from his own bed, and wrapped it around her. He hoped that it would help in protecting him if he touched her to prevent getting himself electrocuted. Wrapping his arms around her, he hugged her, and to his relief, wasn't shocked.
She did her best not to cry, but her lip did tremble slightly. He held her at arms length, "How did they die?" he nodded to the Machoke and two guards that she hadn't electrocuted.
"They did so much to you...," she shook her head, "I don't know. You made a shield or something and the bullets ricocheted away. I thought you were...going to die."
Brennan thought for a moment then helped her to stand. He didn't believe any of it, but the proof was right in front of his face. Walking over to the bed, he picked up the rifle he had dropped. The M16 trembled in his hands. Raising a hand in front of his face, he saw it shaking badly.
Jade hesitated then followed Brennan. When she placed herself next to him, he turned and offered her the gun. She simply shook her head, a look of mild horror on her face. Brennan withdrew it, holding it at a ready position and walked over to the live guard. The guard looked at him, but did nothing more. Brennan closed the door and pushed the dead guard's body in front of it, then dragged the live one behind the console.
Jade wandered amongst the dead, sniffling back tears as she searched for nothing in particular. She heard the guard gasp loudly and looked up. He had his hands up, his back against the console. Brennan had the rifle shouldered and pointed at the guard.
"No!" the guard begged, "Don't, please!"
"What the hell is going on?!" Brennan demanded.
Jade walked over to Brennan. She was quite calm now, and raised a steady hand to push the gun aside. He glared at her for a moment, unmoving, but gave in and stood aside. She crouched in front of the guard.
"Please...I was just doing my job," the guard breathed.
"And what was that?" Jade questioned softly. Brennan had wandered off and began stripping the guard by the door. He removed the boots, pants, shirt, and finally came to a vest hidden beneath the shirt. He left it on the body and stood, glancing at the live guard.
"To make sure the doctors don't get hurt and you don't get out..." he answered hesitantly.
Both Jade and the guard flinched and looked at Brennan. He lowered the rifle from his shoulder, its aim previously trained on the dead guard. He walked over and examined the corps's chest, then strode quickly over to the live guard, gun pointed at his face. "Take it off, now!" he yelled.
"What are you doing?" Jade asked scared. The guard looked puzzled.
"Bullet proof vest, Jade, that's why he's not dead. Now take it OFF!"
He hastened to remove it. Brennan spotted an ID card on his belt as he offered the vest to him. Brennan snagged the vest from him and gave it to Jade, "Here, please wear this." She complied without argument. It was a little big, but not too bad.
"Strip," Brennan ordered, and the guard promptly set to work. As he gave up his clothing, Brennan turned it over to Jade, and she dressed herself. The guard was a smallish guy, so it all fit her well.
Brennan took the ID and looked at it. "Congratulations Jones, you've just become our guide," he said, a malicious smirk upon his face.
After a lot of moving, stripping, and redressing, Jones stood in doctor garb, Brennan in the dead guard's clothing that matched Jade's exactly, and Jade had been armed with a rifle. They all stocked up on ammunition except for Jones, each with a standard issue M16, Berretta 9mm, and a radio to avoid security.
They shoved the body aside from in front of the door, and prepared to have Jones lead them out. However, before they started, Brennan asked, "Hey, are those windows?" nodding to the walls.
Jones nodded, "Yes, but it's almost midnight. Hardly anyone is on duty."
"For your sake, I hope you're telling the truth," Brennan muttered in Jones' ear as Jade opened the door.
Behind the door was a long white hallway with plain doors on either side. Beside each door was a window, one-way-seeing windows Brennan assumed.
"What the hell is all this...this facility, this...crap, what is it for?" he asked Jones as they strode down the hall.
"I'm not sure, I'm just security," he said, glancing over his shoulder at Brennan. Brennan glared at Jones and Jones swallowed, "But I think it's a testing facility."
"For what?" Brennan prompted.
"To cross humans and pokemon."
Brennan stopped in his tracks. "But they aren't..." he trailed off as his gaze looked through the first window, "...real," he concluded half-heartedly. He stepped up to the window to make sure what he was seeing was real. Behind the door, there was a small habitat. He watched as a Nidorina wandered by the window and a Lotad crawled out of an artificial pond.
"No...way..." he breathed, "I used to collect the cards and play the games but...this can't be..." Brennan looked toward the next door, curiosity creeping across his features. He walked to it and looked inside the window. It wasn't green and lush as the previous one, but hot and volcanic. Magma flowed as a river in this room in one corner and expanded into a desert type landscape in the other. Brennan kept shaking his head in disbelief as he watched a sandslash burrow into the desert ground and a charmeleon soundly sleeping near the magma.
Brennan's world came crashing back to reality as he heard a new voice behind him, "Hey." It was another doctor, striding toward Jones with a grin on his face, "We finally did it, we got that boy to retain the abilities and attributes of pokemon."
Brennan turned and Jade saw something she hoped never to see again. He was absolutely livid, teeth bared, thumb flicking the safety off. She didn't even recognize him at that moment. Pain and anger shone brightly in his eyes, "I know," he snarled as the rifle was placed to his shoulder and aimed at the doctor.
The new doctor stopped suddenly, fear controlling his face as terror became the dominant feature. He stood about twenty paces from Brennan unmoving. His legs wouldn't obey his silent will to run, just stood there as though frozen
Brennan's finger tensed, squeezing the trigger slowly. Jade stepped forward quickly and laid a hand on his. "Don't, please..." she said. His eyes turned to look at her from the corner of his eyes, "...for me?" she finished. Brennon lowered his weapon after a moment that seemed to stretch for hours. The doctor let out a ragged breath but kept his hands in the air.
"Why?" he asked turning to Jade, "Why keep this bastard," he pointed a finger toward the doctor, "alive when he has ruined our lives?" His voice trembled with fury, but he spoke as calmly as possible.
Jade opened her mouth to answer, but stopped to hear what the doctor was muttering to himself.
"Then it is true, just as they said it was..." he mumbled, trailing off as he realized he was being watched by the other three.
Brennan stepped toward the doctor, beginning to raise his gun again, when Jade placed a calming hand on his chest, holding him back. She looked into his eyes and shook her head softly. Brennan bowed his head slightly and took a step back to where he was before.
Jones had grown to fear Brennan's anger in the short time he knew him. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw what control Jade had over him. Jones cleared his dry throat and swallowed, watching as Jade stepped toward the doctor.
"Your name is..." she prompted, stopping before him.
"Doctor...Doctor Calder," he answered, nervously taking a step back.
Jade extended a hand toward him, "Jade."
He took her hand after a moment's hesitation and shook it. "I know, but...good to meet you." He stuttered and gasped as she yanked him toward herself.
"You see Brennan there over my shoulder?" she whispered in his ear. He glanced over her shoulder at him. Brennan ran the bolt on his M16, and with a resounding cha-chink, a bullet was inserted into the chamber and the bullet that was in the chamber previously was ejected out. With a quick hand, he lashed out and caught the bullet. Calder swallowed and nodded. "Good, now, listen carefully. If you don't answer my questions, or his, I'll let him have you." She pushed Calder away and smiled at him. "Where can we go to talk," she asked and added, "in private?"
Doctor Calder nodded, turned, and started walking, his gait jolty and shaken. Jones fell in step behind Calder, Jade and Brennan side-by-side, came last.
The doctor led them to the end of the hall and turned left. This hall was empty, but looked just the same as the one they were in; white walls, white doors, and long. Above each door extended a simple brown sign, each with a name. They stopped four doors down under the one marked 'Dr. Calder' and entered. Calder held the door open for them, but when Brennan walked in last, he pushed Calder in and shut and locked the door, turning and standing guard in front of it.
The room was a plain little office, though it wasn't white to Brennan's relief. In the center was a desk with paperwork scattered across it, a chair behind it and a bookcase behind that that stretched across the whole back wall. Two more chairs were before the desk, one of which Jones plopped into. The other was dragged next to Brennan where Jade then sat.
Jones was resigned. He wasn't going to die for doing something stupid so he cooperated without much convincing. Besides, he had only taken the job of security guard because the pay was good and he got to carry a gun around and shoot it occasionally for practice, what every other 18 year old like him wanted. In his mind, he was becoming pretty chummy with these two anyway and hoped that maybe he could stick around with them.
Doctor Calder had other plans. He was extremely scared and his mind raced. He didn't want to die, but he didn't want his two most successful experiments to get away. Consequently, his mind worked at finding a way to get them caught, and right now it looked like he would have to engross the pair in deep conversation for a few more hours until morning when the full staff and security would arrive.
Brennan swung his rifle on his shoulder by the sling and drew the pistol, checking the barrel through the chamber by pulling the bolt back. Satisfied, he let go putting a round in the chamber. He clicked the safety off then looked at Calder, letting the gun hang in his grip at his side.
"Doctor Calder," he began calmly, eyes piercing into Calder's skull, "What the hell is this, all of it? How are we involved? What..." his voice gained in intensity as he kept throwing questions at the doctor until he was interrupted. Jade had grabbed his free hand. His hand closed over hers and he continued, "explain everything. From the start when we got involved."
Calder's mind still whirred. He took a deep breath and began, trying to make his explanation long-winded to keep them longer. Jones was smiling, wanting to hear it all. He found it all pretty interesting and didn't mind knowing.
"A pokemon had escaped. We sent a search team for it, to go above the ground and find it before someone...else saw it." He took a deep breath to clear his mind, "They split up and eventually one of our guys found it. He was about to catch it when you stumbled in on him."
Brennan's mind was suddenly filled with the vivid memory of that moment. His bleeding face, getting shot, Jade...Jayce!
"The team brought you and her in here and..."
"What happened to Jayce?"
"Well...the man who shot him said that he missed," Brennan almost sighed, then froze up; the doctor hadn't stopped speaking. "But the second hit him, somewhere in the lower torso."
Brennan regained his composure quickly, noting it wasn't a chest or head shot, so maybe Jayce was here with them. "But where is he?" Brennan snapped.
"He left him there, said he was dead."
"You son of a bitch..." he said stepping forward again, raising the Berretta. Jade pulled on his hand and he stopped, breathing heavy. Calder had knocked his chair over and fallen out of it in his haste to get away from Brennan, and Jones had shifted away as to not be in between the two. A silence stretched on as Brennan regained control of himself and his breathing calmed. Calder righted his chair shakily, sat down, and continued.
"You were almost dead when they arrived with you. Concussion, collapsed lung, two broken ribs..." he shook his head, "we did everything we could to help, then waited to see if you improved or...you didn't."
Brennan's hand with the pistol unconsciously rose to his side where he was shot.
"You seemed well, became stable, but remained in a coma. We put the pair of you in an observation room. We questioned Jade, dug into both of your pasts, figured out where you lived and who you parents were."
Brennan remembered Jade's cut and bruised face and wondered if that was part of her 'questioning'.
"We got rid of them and most all of the evidence that proved either of you existed. The only thing we couldn't fix was the few people at your school that had seen you every now and then, but they shouldn't be a threat."
"You liar," Brennan whispered, "my parents aren't dead." He refused to believe it, not until he saw it himself.
"By this time, we thought to not let you two go to waste and started testing on you and her. We've had pokemon for some time but we have been trying to interbreed and cross humans and pokemon for eight years now. Why you might ask? To make a better soldier, a sort of 'super soldier' to prove our superiority over other countries, to make them fear us, to ensure an American's safety living in the land of the free," Calder smirked. "We started with you first. We injected your body with genetically altered pokemon cells. We made it so that the surface cell markers were recognized by your body and there were the right amount of chromosomes in each cell. It took us a long time to genetically engineer pokemon cells that would be accepted by the human body, but we finally did; however, nothing happened after it was injected into you. We tried injecting many things into you, still nothing. We replaced parts of your body, including a generous portion of your brain, and still, nothing. The attributes and abilities we gave you continued to lay dormant, just as you did, but fortunately, you didn't die." Calder paused and looked around his desk, spotted a can of soda, grabbed and sipped from it. He cleared his throat and began where he left off, "So we gave up on you and turned to Jade." He smiled at her mockingly and she sneered at him. "She showed the effects of our work almost immediately. We successfully created the first human crossed with a pokemon. We gave her control of electricity and water, implanted tissues in her body and made her quick and agile. We began to train her to control her newly acquired gifts. Then you woke up. We were surprised none-the-less and immediately injected you with an enzyme that would slow down your metablolism and brain function to knock you unconscious to make sure you wouldn't be a large threat. You see, the console you were hooked to monitored the different aspects of each ability you should have acquired to see how much they were being used in your body. The readings had spiked during the brief time you were awake."
Jones broke his prolonged silence while the doctor sipped from his can again, "By spiked, you mean you were able to read the...power, right?"
"What I mean," Calder said, leaning forward and looking at Jones, "is he has the most power we have seen among pokemon...ever. But there is one other," he smiled. The others waited, watching Calder carefully, expecting him to continue.
"Well?" Jones asked, impatient to find out.
"Who is it?" Brennan pushed, still finding it hard to believe any of it.
"You were injected and given control of fire and dark, a portion of your brain being replaced made you of a psychic nature, and your muscle tissue was mostly replaced and you were given strength. Is it not obvious?" Calder had grown excited and was now standing. Brennan glared at him, awaiting an answer. The doctor recomposed himself and sat down once more, "She is your exact opposite," he said, nodding to Jade. "Physically and psychologically, Female versus male, water versus fire, light versus dark, agility versus strength, compassionate nature versus callous nature."
"I wasn't always like this!" Brennan roared, breaking contact with Jade and striding forward, planting both hands on Calder's desk and staring him in the face, "You made me like this!"
Calder leaned back at his tirade, "This is why Jade is here. She is your controller, she has more power, she keeps you in check. Without her, you will destroy yourself and possibly inflict tremendous amounts of damage to everyone, and everything, else."
The whole time, Jade had been silent, contemplating it all. Brennan straightened his back and stood there, letting what was said sink in. Jade stood and slowly walked up behind Brennan, wrapping her arms around him gently.
"Is it not obvious? We have seen several instances already that your rage has been quelled by her touch and her voice. If not for her, Jones and I would not be here right now," Calder finished his explanation.
"That's because I love and respect her," Brennan said so quietly, it was almost a whisper.
"Well yes, that did help. However, say for instance that you attempted to set my desk on fire right now. Her power overwhelms yours; as such, she could put it out without so much as a faint black smudge on its surface."
Brennan didn't do much of anything, just stood there in Jade's arms, mind racing to make sense of it all. Calder glanced at the clock on his desk. 'Damn,' he thought, 'Still have a couple more hours.'
When next he looked up, he found himself staring down the barrel of Brennan's 9mm.
"You're leading us out of this place...now."
Calder swallowed and nodded, standing slowly.
"Turn around and put your hands on the wall."
Calder turned and put his hands on the bookcase. Brennan moved around the desk and quickly patted the doctor down. He removed the electric weapon each doctor seemed to have from his pocket; however, he discovered one other thing. He removed it from the doctor's belt and looked at it. It was a pokeball. Brennan shook his head and set it on the desk, then grabbed the doctor by the back of his collar and roughly guided him to the door. "Jones, take point," Brennan said, dropping into his 'gamer' talk. He had a clan (team) for a game called Halo 2 and operated it in an organized fashion such as the military does, "Guide us to where we can get out of this hell hole. The good doctor," Brennan smirked at Calder, "Will get us past security or whatever else we may need him for."
Jones nodded and stood, passing Brennan, Jade, and Calder and walked outside the door, stopping to look both ways. He turned to the right and started walking. Brennan shoved the doctor before him and they were on their way. Jade went next, and Brennan kept watch on their rear.
As they walked, the halls seemed very empty to Brennan, almost suspiciously. They went along many halls, all the same as the last, all white with signs above them lined with doors and windows.
As they reached the end of the hall in which Calder's office resided, they turned left. This hall was longer than the Office hall. Brennan poked Calder in the back with the rifle to keep him going and decided to steal a glance through one of the windows. Shocked at what he saw, he approached the window and stood there, mouth slightly open. Jade wondered why Brennan was acting as he was and stood next to him to look. They were both staring at a smaller room, all white with a bed in one corner and a toilet and sink in the other. In the center of the room, there was a woman. She was strapped to the ground on her hands and knees. Completely naked, she was crying, absolutely helpless.
A door opened in the back and a doctor walked in. He smiled at the woman and patted the top of her head, standing straight to mark his clipboard momentarily. He set the clipboard on the bed and turned, hand withdrawing a pokeball from his jacket. In a brilliant flash of light, there stood a Mightyena. Brennan knew it well as he normally always had one on the Ruby version game he played.
"Taya..." he said quietly, not believing his eyes. He recognized the person in the center of the room. It was one of his best friends, a girl, who had tried to get Brennan over Jade. Brennan would know her anywhere because of her form. Her gracious curves and gentle face were unforgettable. She was smaller though, but that didn't bother Brennan; all he knew was that she was damn gorgeous. He still had feelings for her of course; however, the three came to an agreement that they would all be good friends, but Jade would be his girlfriend.
A fire was lit within Brennan, fury bubbling its way to the surface once more at seeing her state, emotionally and physically. He turned to Calder, stepping up to him, his face not a centimeter from his.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" he screamed in his face, finger pointing back toward the window. "YOU TOOK MY FRIENDS TOO?!"
"Well I..." Calder began to mumble, staggering back from the outburst and wiping spit flecks from his face.
Brennan grabbed him by his collar and slammed him against the wall, "Why is she here? What are you doing to her?" he demanded, voice a deep snarl.
"We had to get rid of evidence of your existence!" he squeaked hastily. "We didn't want to let her go to waste so we're trying to...to uh..."
Brennan smacked him against the wall again, pinning him there, "Spit it out!"
"Interbreed pokemon and human!"
Brennan blinked at him stupidly, his answer taking him off guard. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked to see Jade pointing at the window. He let go of Calder after a moment and turned to it. The Mightyena had mounted Taya, holding her soft hips firmly. Brennan watched as the Mightyena's erect and quite large shaft plunged into her, watched as her head tilted back, teeth bared, and screamed in pain, watched as the pokemon started hammering himself into her, finding his way deeper and deeper into Taya.
The fire within Brennan erupted. Blinded by rage, his body took control and he acted on impulse. He no longer thought clearly. Body was thrown against the door and with little resistance, it imploded into the room. The doctor within the room was wide-eyed at the entrance.
He fell backward onto the bed, staining the sheets with his blood. The Mightyena had dismounted and, at the death of the doctor, lunged at Brennan, teeth bared. The stalk of the rifle met the pokemon's face in mid-air and the Mightyena crumpled to the floor.
Brennan's heavy breathing was the only sound left in the room. The Mightyena lay motionless at his feet, hole in its head seeping from the gunshot. Taya had stopped crying and was staring, wide-eyed and open-mouthed at Brennan and what just happened. In the doorway Jade stood, hand covering her mouth in disbelief. Calder and Jones stood behind the window, having seen the whole event unfold.
Brennan strode over to Taya and she cringed away from him as though expecting to be beaten. He grabbed each over her bonds and broke them, one at a time. She sat staring at him for a moment, then leaped up and hugged him tightly, sobbing happily.
"Thank you," she whispered.
Brennan's rage dissipated and he blinked, surprised. His arms came up naturally to hug her back. "Are you ok?" he asked.
She nodded silently, then let go. "I thought you were kidnapped or something. You didn't show up at school for three weeks straight. That's not like you."
"Three weeks?" he asked, "We've been here that long?" he asked Jade, turning to her. Jade answered, still shocked at the onslaught, "We've been here a little over two months now."
Brennan turned back to Taya and his eyes caught blood on her. His eyes examined her body. Blood was on her wrists, ankles, and knees where she was bound to the ground. Then he saw her complete immaculate beauty as she stood there in full glory.
Taya blushed as he stared and she turned sideways, covering herself up. Brennan turned around as well, embarrassed. She bent over and retrieved a white shirt and white pants from beneath her bed and put them on. She walked around Brennan and looked into his eyes, "Again, thank you," she said.
Brennan nodded and mumbled something incoherently. He started to walk out, but tripped on the dead pokemon. He looked at it and his whole body went cold. Looking up, he spotted the dead doctor as well. Swallowing, he pivoted on a foot and walked out of the room stiffly. He walked straight at Jones, drew the pistol, and offered it to him. "I need you to keep watch on the Calder...Sean. Long time no see."
Jones blinked, "How do you know who I am?" he asked nervously.
"Yeh signed up for the National Guard and that was the last time I saw you. You came back after...what...22 weeks of basic and AIT?" Brennan asked.
Sean nodded, "Yeah, and I found this easy high-paying job. I thought it was pretty good; got a callsign and everything," he shrugged. "Now I remember who you are. The change in your hair and eye color threw me I think, plus you're a bit more built since the last time I remember you."
"Change?" Brennan asked.
"Yeah, you're hair is like...black as black can get and your eyes are the deepest red I've ever seen."
Calder's eyes darted from one to the other as they conversed. He took his chance and dove for the Berretta. Sean's knee met Calder's stomach before he could reach it. He took the pistol and nodded to Brennan, "Thanks, don't worry about me, I'll keep an eye on him." Calder was spurred into a coughing fit. He was roughly grabbed and pushed ahead of Sean as he made Calder march out in front, himself right behind. Jade went next, then Taya, and finally Brennan. Jade offered Taya her Berretta, but she refused it, shaking her head.
Sean stopped a short distance and turned to Brennan, being careful to keep Calder in view, "Hey man, what about the rest of them?" he asked, nodding to the other rooms. Brennan looked in them and they were all in a similar situation, though he knew none of the occupants. Females were being raped by male pokemon, although the pokemon differed with each room. The next nearest one contained another smaller girl, looked to be a teenager, possibly from his high school, being thrusted into roughly by a Charmeleon. Something was different though, the look on her face. She was enjoying it, meeting each of the pokemon's drives.
"Free the ones that don't look like they're...willin'," Brennan said, moving to the next window. Sean followed suit and started looking into the windows, holding Calder in front of him at all times. As they moved along, they were surprised to see how many of them enjoyed it. There was one other as young as Taya that pleaded and begged and screamed in pain. It was the last door on the opposite side Taya was on in the hall. A bit taller than Taya, she was almost as beautiful. Blonde, straight long hair flowed over her shoulders to lie on the ground. Bright blue eyes and attractive body made her soft on the eyes.
She turned her tear streaked face toward the doctor and continued to plead while a Houndoom pounded away pleasurably at his new toy. The doctor in this room tired of her pleading, she wouldn't shut up when he told her to, so he decided to take advantage of the situation. He shed his pants exposing his already stiff member. He grabbed her hair and forced his shaft passed her tightly pursed lips. Moaning with pleasure, he began to slowly push back and forth within the pleasantly warm orifice.
Brennan and Sean stood outside the window, aiming their rifles at each respectively, Sean at the pokemon and Brennan at the doctor. Jade, with a hold on Calder, and Taya stepped back and plastered themselves against the wall.
The glass shattered noisily, the doctor slumped forward onto the girl and the Houndoom lay lifeless atop her.
"Good thing for sound-proof walls, eh?" Sean smirked at Brennan as he crumpled the door by slamming into it. Brennan nodded to him as he made his way to the girl. He pushed the doctor off of her face and she coughed, spitting out the doctors seed and sucking in air greedily.
"You ok?" Brennan asked, shoving the Houndoom from her back.
She nodded, "Thank...you..." she managed between gasps.
Brennan broke her bonds and she stood. Immediately the pokemon's seed seeped from between the lovely folds of her sex and down the insides of her legs. Snatching the towel from the sink, Brennan helped her clean herself up, wiping the blood from her back and letting her finish. Like Taya, she retrieved clothes from beneath her bed and quickly dressed.
"I can't believe they would enjoy something like that..." Jade whispered, looking over her shoulder down the hall.
Calder snorted, "They didn't initially. It's chemically induced...most of it," his eyes glanced at the clock in the room and he smirked. 'Only thirty minutes until full security arrives,' he thought.
As though on cue, Sean voiced the doctor's thoughts, "Shit! We've got to move, NOW!" he exclaimed.
Brennan looked at him questioningly, "Why?"
"Half an hour until full security shows up!"
"Sean take point, Taya next, Jade after, Calder and..." Brennan looked at the girl.
"Nikki," she said.
"...Nikki next, and I'll cover our asses. LET'S MOVE"
Sean was already on the move, everyone forming a single file line behind him.
Right turn, left, left, up stairs, left, left, and finally they reached a hall which was noticeably different than the rest. It wasn't white; it was quite tasteful as a matter of fact. Furnished lavishly it seemed to be the foyer of an expensive hotel. They marched straight across it to the other side and up a final set of stairs. At the top was a security checkpoint. Sean stopped and showed them his I.D. He turned his head to a device on the wall and spoke, "Sean Mahoney." It beeped three times and a small green light lit up on the panel.
They waited as Sean entered the small room. Only two security guards were on duty. "Hey guys, how's it going?" Sean asked friendly-like. They stared darkly at him through half open eyes, obviously tired. Sean shrugged and smacked the first guard across the face with the pistol, knocking him unconscious, and pointing it at the last. His eyes widened, "Open the armory." He nodded and scanned his I.D. card on a console against one wall and spoke into a voice recognition device next to where he scanned his I.D. The door slid open slowly and Sean promptly hit the guard in the back of the head. Everyone that was waiting outside went into the armory. It was smaller but had a wide variety of weapons. Brennan immediately started looking for specific guns, Sean and Nikki following suit.
Brennan picked up an M16 equipped with a scope and laser sight. He slammed a magazine into it and ran the bolt. He looked at Nikki and raised a brow, "I grew up shooting rifles," she shrugged, "Lived in South Carolina for a time." She picked up an MP5 and loaded it.
Sean whistled lovingly at what he saw and picked it up, smiling at Brennan, caressing it. He held a SAW, or in Sean's words, a powerful ass machine gun. Brennan shook his head smiling as he picked up a pair of Desert Eagles, strapping the holsters around his legs above his knees. He picked up extra ammo for each and put them all into a belt which he promptly put on. When next he turned back, Sean had a chain of bullets around his shoulders, still caressing the weapon, and Nikki had an MP5 and a standard issue Berretta 9mm. Each of the three grabbed a few grenades each and they left.
Sean led, Jade right behind him with the rifle she kept. They moved single file once more down a very long black hall. At the end was a bright light. As they reached it, they realized it was a door concealed inside a deep cave. They exited the doors and stood at the mouth of the cavern, crouched low. They were in an extremely densely wooded area. Brennan shifted over to Sean's side and whispered into his ear, "Hey, were you part of that search team that found the pokemon...and us?" he asked. Sean nodded. "Take us there then," Brennan instructed.
They arrived at the spot. Brennan searched around quickly, but found nothing. He smiled and turned. It was quickly replaced with a frown, "Where's Calder?" he asked. They all looked around themselves and yet there was no sign of him.
There was a slight hiss and wood splintered off of a tree above Sean. They all crouched low as there were more hisses and thunks as more bullets found their way into wood.
"Security's comin'!" Brennan shouted as the fire became more intense and heavier.
Sean opened up, shooting blindly in the direction they came. "Go! Now!" he shouted, "I'll catch up!"
"Jade, go with Taya and Nikki. Run, run back to where my horses...should be." He hesitated, they were probably dead, "I'm gonna stay and help cover us, go!"
She wavered for a moment, then stood and started running. Taya got up and followed, Nikki behind her. He nodded, satisfied, and turned, picking out shadows of targets and firing off a few rounds at each. He tapped Sean's shoulder and Sean stood. They both turned and started running, stopping to turn and fire off a few rounds to make the enemy keep their heads down.
They got to the clearing where they had the picnic and Brennan saw the three girls' forms laying face forward in the grass, unmoving. He started running forward. Three more forms popped up out of the tall grass in front of the three girls, shotguns pointed toward Brennan, but he didn't stop running.
Three shotguns cocked, ready to fire now.
Sean cried out clutching his chest, dropping the SAW and falling on his back, the hit so powerful he was literally knocked from his feet; however, Brennan didn't see one of the shotguns fire. Maybe he was surrounded. He wasn't sure. He didn't care. All of his friends were dead, all of them. Rage surrounded his world. He picked out one of the three men and made toward him.
Suddenly there was blue. Brennan was on his back, staring at the sky, something heavy on his chest. He couldn't move his arms now. He lashed out with his feet, but they were quickly stopped as well. Shotguns were pointed in his face. He couldn't breath because of the weight on his chest, he couldn't recognize what was going on in his blind rage. Finally, the world went black.
