The Estranged Evolution by zacheriah

Accepting Evolution Pt 1

Returning to the fragmented chapter style after 2 years of not posting a second chapter at all. Still, gotta admit, the time away, however stressful, has given me time to think over how to go about the new chapter. Anyway, hope everyone enjoys, and Pt 2 will come soon, promise.

Now, it is said that, when it comes to Pokemon evolution, that most Pokemon accept their change rather well after evolution. Many scientists, including a renowned scientist from the Sinnoh Region, believe that its a built in knowledge since birth that the Pokemon know what they evolve into. Now, this theory in effect, what happens when life throws you the proverbial curveball that you have the worst capability to hit and the Pokemon finally realizes in full what its change is not completely what it expected it to be?

Well, for one, uncomfortability when wearing clothing...

After about a week of staying hidden off the road and helping Rika through the usual mannerisms most humans go through, I had been mulling over certain things. For one, Rika's new form, however feminine it was- still had standing features of a Raichu. Large ears, a very long tail, and brown fur with the yellow upon the cheeks. I had mulled over excuses of how we could get past these features once we had gotten into town. One would be a costume, however, in the middle of summer, most people would ask why be in a fur, skin-tight suit. This didn't play well in my head.

Thus, I had to think of something else.... and that's when I thought of it. I carried a lot of clothing in my bag due to my training route, a Coordinator. One of my acts involved Rex, my Houndoom, in which I had to wear a VERY tight body suit to make my body dark as possible under the fire red translucent robes. It would cover most of her body to the point where all we would have to do is clothe her normally with some extra clothes I had and a hat.

Rika, looking somewhat African-American with the bodysuit and some brown makeup on her cheeks, looked rather nice, in a tomboyish way. The cap had her ears tucked away nicely underneath, and put backwards to at least leave a part of them uncovered so she could actually hear. The baggy long sleeve shirt covered her features nicely, yet, to my surprise, her feminine form somehow found a way to show up. Either that, or my own mind was in the gutter and was looking for those breasts of hers. The jeans, which required a belt to hold onto her, also sat baggy, with the legs rolled up quite a bit, yet low enough to hide the fact that she was walking barefoot. All in all, she looked rather nice, despite the ill-fitting motif.

However, Rika did not quite agree, as she continued to voice her complaints as we had finally finished getting her clothed and her ears hidden the best I could. Upon the road towards Goldenrod, however, these complaints continued more and more.

"Zach, I seriously don't understand how you can stand clothing. Its HOT under all of this, and the suit keeps giving me a wedgie, especially-" I didn't need to turn around to see the flustered face of my newly evolved companion, and tried to keep my thoughts from the fact that I could hear her fidgeting around with her hand in the pants, fixing the bodysuit on both sides as she complained.

"Rika, that's enough! You know what will happen if someone found out you evolved like this...and I would rather not lose you to anyone or anything." Sighing deeply, I could hear her stop. I looked behind me to see her face downset. I knew her body wasn't exactly what she expected it to be either. It came to us both as a shock, and when that shock settled, well...let's just say it wasn't as peaceful as the night following.

Nonetheless, I stopped and gave her a soft hug, trying to smile despite the mood. "Right now, the best we can do is get to Goldenrod before noon. We can check into a Pokemon Center so you can rest in one of the rooms, then Elvis and I will go and get you some more proper, concealing clothing that might fit you more comfortably, OK?"

She only gave a nod and a sigh. I kept a hold on her as we walked forward. We could see the buildings of Goldenrod up ahead. Somehow, it looked like a shining sanctuary, yet we both knew it was far from it. Walking the road up to the Pokemon Center, I had the feeling, somewhere in the back of my mind, life was rearing up to pitch another curveball.
