Bunny Love by XD385

Two boys, one choice

Ash looked out from the deck of the ferry at the shoreline of the land where he had hoped to begin his newest Pokemon League challenge, but had to leave so soon. He didn't mind all that much though. It would give him some time to prepare. By chance, he met a young girl named Dawn and she wanted to become a Pokemon Coordinator like her mother. When Ash told her about the contest halls in the Hoenn region, she begged him to take her there so she could get a good idea of how the 'game' was played before taking part in Contests in her own homeland. Ash was reluctant at first, but gave in knowing that he could use the time in Hoenn to train Pikachu, as well as Cyndaquil and Totodile.

"Hey, Ash! Whatcha doing up here alone?" Dawn had come over to Ash to check on him. At her side was her Buneary, Freya. Freya was a little rabbit-like Pokemon. Her species had only just been discovered only in the Sinnoh region. Pikachu greeted the two ladies. "Oh, hi Dawn. I was just taking one last look at Sinnoh. Really, I don't mind taking you and Freya to the Hoenn region." Dawn smiled, "Thanks. You're doing me a big favor. I hope to make it up to you somehow. See you later!" Dawn turned to leave, but Freya flashed a peculiar wink at Pikachu, making him sweat.

That evening, Dawn decided to join Ash for dinner in his cabin. Freya tagged along. Dawn asked many questions during dinner. "How did you like Hoenn? Did the Contests look hard? What kinds of Pokemon were there? Did you find a girlfriend there?" Ash had a hard time keeping up with her questions. The whole time, Freya was chasing Pikachu around the room. Ash and Dawn had no way of knowing it, but Freya had a big crush on Pikachu, and Pikachu wanted nothing to do with her.

"Say, Ash, do you mind if Pikachu sleeps with me tonight?" Dawn's question surprised Ash and Freya equally. Freya flashed a mischievous grin at Pikachu. He prayed that Ash would turn the offer down. "Sounds good to me!" Pikachu let out a sigh of disappointment. "ONLY if Freya can stay with me." Dawn replied, "Deal! Let's go, Pikachu! See you in the morning Ash. You be good, Freya." Pikachu gave a relieved reply to Dawn and gave Ash a look that seemed to say, "Thanks." Freya was not too thrilled that she couldn't stay with her crush. She lowered her head as Dawn shut the door.

"Well Freya, how about a shower?" Freya looked at Ash with a disappointed look. Ash could tell that she did not want to stay with him tonight. "Oh come on. I'll wash you myself. I know you'd rather be with Dawn, but I'm not a bad person to be around. So, what do you say?" Ash held out his hand as if he were offering Freya something. Halfheartedly, she looked up at Ash's face. She saw his gentle brown eyes quite clearly. "Maybe..... Maybe I should trust him. He seems nice, but my heart belongs to Pikachu....." After a moment of pondering, Freya took a chance and leapt into Ash's arms. "Hey, I promise to be a good friend. OK?" Freya sighed as he ran his fingers through her hair. She grinned at him to show her consent.

A few minutes later, Freya was waiting outside the glass door of the walk-in shower in the bathroom. Ash had removed his clothes while inside and chucked them over the door where there was a gap for steam to escape from. Once the water was very warm, Ash opened the door. "OK, Freya. It's just right. Come on in!" To Ash's surprise, she just stood there looking up at him. Freya couldn't take her eyes off of Ash's heavily toned body. Pokemon are normally attracted to others by scent, but Freya was mesmerized by the sight of Ash's body. She couldn't move. He was so.......perfect.

Freya's daydreaming was interrupted when Ash tossed some water on her. "Are you coming in or not?" Freya blushed a little, but hopped inside. Ash closed the door and sat down next to the little bunny with a bottle of shampoo in hand. Freya sat down on his leg and closed her eyes when Ash started to scrub her head with shampoo. He was firm, but gentle. He didn't miss a single spot. Freya felt so relaxed as her small body became covered in foam. She looked like a little pile of bubbles. Ash rinsed her off and soon turned the shower off without washing himself. He quickly dried Freya off so her fur was soft and fluffy, as if she had just finished up at the groomers.

Thinking Ash was getting ready for bed; Freya jumped onto the bed and faced him. To her surprise, he was putting his clothes back on. Once fully clothed, he asked, "Do you want to go for a walk above deck, Freya?" A walk on the high seas under a blanket of stars..... This sounded too romantic! Freya let out an excited chirp and ran to Ash's side. However, he picked her up and placed her on his right shoulder. Taking the key to the cabin with him, Ash set out down the hall to the upper deck.

It was past eight and the moon could be seen. A blanket of stars covered the night sky. There was a cool evening breeze, but Freya felt warm as she clutched at Ash's head. He didn't mind though. Her fur felt very soft against his bare skin. At the bow of the ship, Ash just leaned against the railing while staring out at the horizon. In just three more days, he would be back in the Hoenn region after only just completing his Pokemon League challenge there. Still, it would be nice to see May and Max again. The whole time, Freya couldn't take her eyes off of the face of possibly the most gentle and caring human boy she had ever encountered. Slowly, she closed the distance between their faces. She wanted to give him a little gift for being so caring to her that night. Ash didn't even see her coming. Just a few more seconds and........

Suddenly, a strong gust of wind almost blew Ash clear over the railing! He managed to stop himself by tightly gripping the railing, but couldn't stop the wind from blowing Freya off his shoulder. The helpless Buneary let out a frightened scream as she plummeted into the black water below. "FRRREEEEYYYAAAA!!!!!" Ash panicked at the sight of Dawn's Pokemon disappearing into the water. If she drowned..... NO! A crew member had heard Ash scream and ran over to check on him. The instant Ash heard the sailor approach, he yelled, "Tell the captain to stop the ferry!" With that said, he dove overboard after Freya, hoping that he wasn't too late. The sailor did as he was told and ran to the wheel house. Two lives were hanging in the balance!

Freya struggled to keep her head above water as the ferry glided past her. She had no idea how to swim and the ship was only just starting to slow down. She thought this was the end. Her young life was about to come to a sudden end. As she began to sink, she saw him. Ash. At the risk of death from drowning, he had jumped overboard and was swimming towards her! However, Freya's strength was spent and she sank below the waves. "FREYA! HOLD ON!" Ash took a deep breath and dove under. He couldn't open his eyes underwater due to the salt in it. It would burn his eyes. It seemed like an impossible task. How could he grab something that was sinking when he couldn't even see it?! He franticly flailed his hands back and forth, hoping that he would feel something solid. As he was about to give up hope, he grabbed something. Needing to breath, Ash rocketed back up to the surface and filled his lungs with air.

Ash slowly raised his right hand above the waves to see what he had caught. It was hard to tell due to the darkness. He felt his heart sink. She was gone. Ash turned around when he heard someone yell for him. A lifeboat was approaching him with a sailor pointing a flashlight at him. A minute later, Ash was pulled aboard. After a moment, Ash asked the sailor, "Please, could you shine the flashlight on this?" Ash held out the dark mass that he had grabbed during his dive. The sailor did as directed and shone the light on it. Ash felt a glimmer of hope return when he saw the soaked body of Freya in his hands. However, she did not move.

In utter desperation, Ash placed Freya on a seat and tried to apply CPR. The sailor looked on in disbelief as this boy joined lips with a Pokemon to try to revive her! Ash knew he was doing it right as he saw her chest rise and fall with each breath he gave her. A moment later, Freya spit out a large amount of seawater. She looked around and immediately saw the face of the boy she saw before passing out. He looked like he was going to cry any minute. Had he just saved her? "Are you OK? I thought I was gonna lose you." Ash gently caressed her little wet head. Freya leapt into his arms, crying loudly. She thought she was going to die. The sailor tried to comfort them, "Well done, kid. Ya really surprised me back there. You've got guts diving overboard to save someone. Even the Captain freaked out when I told him what happened. He's even got something waiting for ya back in your cabin. It was the only one that was taken, but empty. Hope ya like." Ash hardly listened as he gently cuddled Freya. They hoped this would be the last nightmare they would have for a long time.

As Ash carried Freya back to his cabin while draped in a thick towel, he could smell an intense aroma. When he opened the door, he almost dropped Freya as a small feast of freshly prepared food was laid out on the table! "Hey Freya. Care for a little snack?" Freya, though still in shock, nodded. With the meal to themselves, Ash and Freya made sure to leave some for breakfast. Once they had eaten enough, Ash took Freya into the bathroom for another shower. They both reeked of saltwater. Ash would make sure that they both were thoroughly cleaned.

After drying himself and Freya off from the shower, Ash put on his night clothes and climbed in bed. He signaled Freya to climb in too. However, she was still in a little too much shock, so Ash had to lift her up into bed himself. He gently draped them both with the blankets and turned out the lamp next to the bed. Freya calmed down when she felt Ash hold her against his chest. "I'm sorry I didn't stop you from falling overboard back there. I'm really.....sorry....." Freya could feel Ash's body tremble as he silently sobbed. She could tell that he was overcome will self blame. He felt that the fact that she had nearly drowned was his fault. Although she couldn't see him, Freya felt his face and placed what felt like a small kiss on his nose. Ash stopped sobbing out of surprise. "Freya?" He felt her gently embrace his face and nuzzled against it too. Ash whispered, "Thank you." Ash fell asleep while embracing the little rabbit. Freya soon joined him. She was certain that she would dream about Pikachu that night, but instead, she would dream about the boy who saved her. Ash Ketchum.
