Surprise surprise!
"Hurray. Another day. Woot."
"Hey, come on now, with that attitude, you'll never cheer up."
"Fine." I put on a cheesy smile.
"Thats more like it..." She was obviously being sarcastic.
"I think I'm going to go for a walk. Might as well take advantage of the sun, before it rains again." Our town was a rain whore.
"sounds good." Call me if you go anywhere... Your cell is charged right?"
"Yup." I left the house, not knowing were to go. I headed to the area where all the shops were. I had quite a bit of money in my account, because I worked my ass off at 'High Steaks,' a rather classy butcher shop. They usually had me on cleanup.
I sighed, and went to a little cafe.
"Eighteen ounce mocha please."
"Four fifty." I swiped my debit card in the machine, selected yes, chequing and my four number code, which happened to be very obvious. So obvious no one would ever think of it.
"Your coffee will be served on the counter to your left."
"Thanks again." About three minuets rolled by, than I heard someone.
"Medium Mocha!"
"Thank you." Aaaah nothing like a good mocha on a boring day. I searched for a seat, but there wasn't one empty. I saw the only empty seat, across from a beautiful girl, who was sitting alone, just sipping a coffee. She glanced in my direction and looked away. She would be about sixteen years old, the same age as me.
"Ah what the hell, might as well give it a shot." I thought to myself, walking in her direction. "Mind if I sit here?"
"Oh, uh, no problem." She was gleaming. "What's your name?"
"Sean. Yours?" Might as well.
"Oh, uh, Erika."
"That's a nice name." I was biting my foot. To my experience, girls hate flattery.
"Oh thank you very much!" Whew! That was a relief.
"Are you new here? I've never seen you before."
"Yeah actually. I'm traveling around, looking here and there, just for the hell of it."
"Sounds like fun."
"You'd think wouldn't you."
"What, it's not?" Sounded like fun.
"There is a lot of work involved. Also, it's hard to get a job because I'm not long term, and I don't have any ID."
"You don't have an ID? Why not?"
"I don't feel like explaining right now." I was intrigued.
"Oh, thats fine."
"Hey, why don't you show me around, since I'm new and all?"
"Wow... She's asking me to show her around? She likes me?" I was excited, but kept a straight face. "Yeah sure... I'd love to!" We left the coffee shop, and walked down the street.
"Thank you for doing this."
"No problem. Where are you from anyway?"
"I don't even remember."
"Whoa, when you said wandering, I thought you meant this summer... Not your whole life!" She blushed. "I didn't mean to offend you or anything."
"No, it's just I have been doing this my whole life. I don't even know who my parents are."
"Oh my god... That's awful!"
"Let's change the subject. What's that place over there?" I understood why she wanted to change the subject.
"Oh, thats the ice cream place... You have had ice cream... right?"
"What cream?" Okay, that was ridiculous.
"Um... Wow. Just wow. Follow me." Jeez.
"Um... Sure!" She didn't seem... normal in any way.
"These are the basics. There's chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Then there are the others, like mint-chip, cookie-dough and espresso flake and so forth. Personally, I like this one." I pointed to the cookie-dough.
"I'll try... Mint-chip. Just 'cause I like mint!"
"You sure are happy!" She was cheerful... like she had never seen anything... ever.
After one lick of the ice cream, her eyes lit up. "Wow! So thats what it tastes like!"
"Who are you..."
"I told you. Erika!" I was still baffled.
"Okay... Where to now?"
"Dunno. What about some place quiet? There are so many people here." Why would she want to go somewhere quiet? Oh well.
"Follow me than." I took her to a clearing, at the edge of town. It was a good two hundred feet above the ocean. It was a straight cliff, with no pointy rocks at the bottom. It was about noon, so the sun was high in the sky, and hot.
"This place... It's beautiful!"
"This is one of my favorite places to go." We sat there, for about an hour just talking. We really hit it off.
"I'm hungry... let's get a bite to eat." I agreed, and we went back to town.
"This place is good. I come here a lot." I took her to 'Maxie's Grill.' I mostly liked their chicken.
"Ooh, it smells good in here. I like it!" She was an oddball. She seemed like she had never been to a restaurant, or even seen one.
"Pick what you want from here. I'm going to get the salmon burger today."
"I'll get what you're getting, just to be safe." She smiled. What was it about her that was so... Pleasing?
"Can I take your order?"
"Yes, could we get two iced teas, and two salmon burgers?"
"Yes, right away."
About half an hour went by, after we got our drinks, than the food arived.
"Alright, prepare for the best food ever!" It truly was.
After one bite, she seemed to levitate with glee. "This is delicious! I have never had salmon... This good!!!"
"Have you even had salmon before?" I was starting to wonder if she had been alive for more than the time I met her.
"Oh yeah, I love salmon. I have just never had it so good!"
After another hour or two, we decided to take a stroll through the park, discussing each other's ideas. We had a lot in common, which was nice for a change.
"I know one place you haven't taken me yet..." How would she know?
"Oh yeah, whats that?"
"Your place!" This could only end well.
"Oh, uh... No problem!" She grabbed my hand. I felt warm, and happy inside.
After about fifteen minuets of walking, and talking, we arrived at my house.
"Hi mom, meat Erika."
"Oh, hello there! It's nice to see Sean meeting new people! My name is Rita."
"Uh hi!" She didn't seem to know what to say.
I showed her around the house and couldn't help but notice she was interested in everything.
"Well, I should get going!" She gave me a hug, which caught me off guard, and ran out the door. I went after her to see if she wanted to stay with us, having nowhere to go and all, but she was gone as soon as I set foot outside.
"What is with that girl?"
The next day, I wanted to see her again, so I went back to the cafe. She wasn't there, so I decided to wait. I got a sandwich and a nice mocha. After several minuets, she showed up, and she spotted me right away.
"Hey Erika!" She came right over.
"Thought I'd see you here."
"Were you looking for me?"
"Well, no, but I wanted to see you again."
"Awe, I appreciate it. Where did you disappear to yesterday?"
Oh, that. I'll tell you tonight, 'kay?"
"Oh, sure." At first I was confused by 'tonight.'
We walked around town, just like the previous day, enjoying ourselves.
"Why don't we go back to that cliff you showed me yesterday, please?"
"No problem. Why?"
"I like it there, I guess."
"Sure thing!" I finished the rest of my lunch, than we head out.
"I love it here. It's so... Peaceful!" She seemed to be glowing with happiness.
"I always find myself here on dull days. It seems to just make me feel nice."
"That sounds so nice." The sun was beginning to set.
"Let's head back to my house, we can watch a movie or something."
"'Kay!"
"Let's go than." We took our time coming home, because we didn't feel like rushing. When we arrived, we both sat on the couch, and turned the TV on, but didn't really watch. We mostly just chatted. Eventually, we found ourselves alone, because my mom went out to work, where she needed to fill in a shift for a friend.
"I... I have something I need to show you. It... It's important." I was baffled. We stared at each other in the eyes, for a few minuets, than she pulled me in for a kiss. Wow, could she kiss. After a short while of making out, her mouth felt different, but we had only been kissing for a short while. What could I have known? I put my hands behind her head, obviously expecting to feel hair. That was not what I felt. Instead of hair, I felt what felt like soft down, confused, a brought my hands up, to feel two horns, ears or some-two-things jutting out of the back of her head. I pulled away and opened my eyes.
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!?!?" Instead of the Erika I knew, there was a Latias in her place. "Everything makes sense now..."
"Don't be scared... Everything is okay!"
"But... how... wh... but..."
"It's okay! I was showing myself to be a human. I have always wanted to know what it was like."
"But why would you toy with me like that?"
"I wasn't toying with you, I actually feel for you. I had so much fun the past two days!"
"I know but... How in the hell are you talking!?"
"Oh. Telepathy. I have strong psychic powers. Check this out." She vanished before my eyes, but appeared behind me.
"Thats... Thats amazing!" She lifted me up by my collar, and flew towards the door, only to open it, fly us through it, and close it behind us, at lightning speed.
"We're going to have more fun now!"
"Where are you taking me?"
"You'll see" We raced towards the sea, which I couldn't normaly see from my house, but by now, we were far from my house, and high in the air. We flew over the ocean, and than we sharply turned towards town, towards the massive cliff. She landed us on top of the cliff, right at the spot that I always came to.
"You really do like it here, don't you?"
"Yeah. In fact, I slept here after you showed it to me, because I liked it so much."
"Wow, that must have been nice." She gave me a rather inocent look.
"It really is."
"Is your name actually Erika?"
"I don't really have a name. So I guess, yeah, yeah it's Erika. I like that name."
"Well, Erika, I'm glad I met you." We sat for a few more minuets.
"Why don't you... Never mind."
"What?" She blushed and turned away.
"Well, I was wondering, if youd like to stay here with me tonight."
"I would, but I can't. My mom will be home in a few hours, wondering where we went, and It's to cold out here."
"True... Oh well." She looked disappointed.
"You can stay at my place." She looked at me, with a quaint smile.
"Really? Awesome!" She was preparing for flight, back home I guess.
"There's no reason to leave just yet. Let's stay for a few minuets."
"Okay." She nuzzled my leg a few times, than rested her head on my lap. I could feel myself melt from the inside.
After about half an hour, I got really cold, so we decided to leave. She flew me so fast, scenery was a blur. When we arrived, my mom was still at work.
"Where do you want to sleep?"
"Let's figure that out when it's time to go to bed."
"Umm... Okay, what do you want to do now than?" At this point, it was about eleven at night. She gave me a wink, and leaned forward for a kiss. At first I felt weird, but after a few seconds, I found myself kissing back. I felt like we were in our own world. After a while, we got a little bit more serious. I couldn't help but feel weird inside, realizing that I was kissing a Pokemon. At that, I heard the door starting to open, where my mom had just got home from work. Before I could say even a single word, Erika pulled away, turned the TV on, and was back to a human.
"Hi guys, sorry I came home so late. Aren't you getting tired?" I was shocked. Half an hour went by so quickly.
"Yeah, I think I'm gunna hit the sack. Erika why don't you..."
"I'm going to head out. It was nice seeing you both again." She head out the door, and I looked out, and she was gone. She had obviously flew off or something.
"She's a nice girl. You should keep her."
"Mom, hold the advice." I set off for bed, walking up the stairs into my room. I felt a little cold, but thought nothing of it. I could only think of Erika. When I entered my room, I saw that my window was open, and Erika was right there in my room, in her true form.
"Hey there, Sean! Long time no see!" She giggled.
"Shhh... If my mom saw you, she would freak out!"
"Don't worry, I can be invisible at will.
"You showed me that. It's cool! I'm tired, and going to bed. Are you..." Before I could finish, she was under my covers, waiting. I took my pants off, but left my shirt and boxers on, and crawled into bed.
"Good night there Sean."
"Good night, Erika." We looked into each other's eyes, and she pecked me on the lips, as we both fell asleep, into a deep, deep sleep.
