Story Notes:
This story was meant to only be three chapters long, but it was going so well that I made it larger. I hope you all enjoy it.
Dark Careers
Tracey gradually stood up, panting. The Moltres lay before her, its flames weakening until they were close to extinguished. She wasn't sure if that was normal or not for an unconscious Moltres, but what she did know was that she didn't care.
Exhaling slowly, she grinned. "That was fun!"
She turned back to face Stolid, who was staring at the fallen Moltres in shock from behind the rocks. She waved her hand, trying to get him to react. "Earth to stupid moron, come in please."
Stolid blinked and stared blankly at her for several seconds, then stepped out from behind the rocks. "Um...Nice job. So now what do we do with the thing?"
Tracey chuckled. "That's easy. We bring one of the choppers here, and put it in 'storage'."
"You mean the force-field generator? But didn't we want to save that for Articuno? That's what the Boss said, isn't it?"
Tracey grinned again, and slowly reloaded her tranquilizer, a handgun that she had taken apart and personally redesigned to fire tiny sedative needles. "Well, yeah, originally. But after he realised the potential behind this mission, he shelled out the big bucks and got us another two. After a little persuasion from yours truly." She winked and slid the new batch of needles into the gun, returning it to its holster. "In other words, it's fine to use one on this thing." she finished, gesturing over her shoulder.
"...So, in summary, we hike back, bring one of the choppers and a generator over, put it in the force field, attach said force field to the chopper and call it a day?"
Tracey frowned, and started to approach the entrance of the cave. "All except the last past. We've still got to get the Articuno, remember?"
Stolid sighed. "We're never gonna get a break, are we." He followed her outside, and suddenly shivered. "Hey, do you feel cold all of a sudden?"
Tracey rubbed her hands together, warming them. "Yeah, I kinda do! It might be because of that Moltres' flames. Anyway, look at it this way. Nabbing the Articuno is really only one more thing to do, and then we get to have a leisurely helicopter ride back to base. And then we get promoted for being fantastic. Does that sound good enough for a certain whiny partner of mine?"
Stolid paused and smiled, tilting his head back. "Yes, I think I that idea. And in other news...what the hell is that?!" he yelled suddenly, pointing almost straight up in the air.
Tracey followed his finger, and her jaw promptly dropped. An Articuno was sailing directly over them, gliding through the air towards the summit of the mountain. A wave of freezing cold suddenly hit them as it moved by, but it faded nearly as suddenly once the bird had passed them.
They stared at it for several minutes, watching as it approached the distant mountain. It finally appeared to land on a ledge near the top, and then walked out of view.
The seconds passed in silence while Stolid and Tracey stared at the mountain. They eventually met each other's gaze, and Tracey nodded.
"Come on! Not a moment to lose!" she yelled, and they ran full-speed down the slope, eager to get back to their camp, and their equipment.
Articuno was still lying comfortably on the ground of the cavern when she was woken by something nudging her side. She stirred and slowly opened her eyes, and blinked in surprise at what she saw. There was another Articuno standing over her, with a concerned expression.
"Are you alright?" asked the Articuno, his voice deep and pure. "Are you hurt at all?"
"No, I'm fine.." she replied slowly, craning her head back to look him in the eye. "I'm not hurt or anything. I was just...sleeping in an awkward position, that's all. Who are you?"
"Who am I?" repeated the Articuno. "Well, my name's Celox. I come from an island near Hoenn. Yourself?"
"Um...I don't have a name. I'm simply Articuno to all who know me. I live near the Orange Islands." She hesitated, and added warily "Pleased to meet you."
Celox smiled warmly, and nodded. "Pleased to meet you too, Articuno."
There was an awkward silence, and Articuno attempted to get back onto her feet, suddenly feeling self-conscious again. She found it surprisingly difficult to left herself off her back. Celox knelt down, lowering his upper body. "Please, allow me."
Nodding slowly, Articuno draped one of her wings across his shoulders. Celox rose up carefully and deliberately, lifting her back onto her feet. He held his wing out across her back until she was steady, then removed it again, standing unintrusively beside her.
Articuno took the opportunity to turn and take a proper look at him. He was nearly a perfect mirror image of herself, though there were a few subtle differences that she could pick out. Like hers, his body was smooth and curved, though perhaps just slightly more muscular. His white chest-feathers were tidy and groomed, while her own simply hung naturally, not quite as well-arranged. Had he tried to put effort into his appearance, or was his plumage naturally neat?
Stepping forward casually and looking behind him, she could see another difference: Unlike hers, his long tail did not appear to reflect light. The lack of shining reflections made his tail seemed significantly duller than her own highly lustrous tail. Aside from those small differences, though, he was really almost a complete copy of herself.
Articuno realised that, while she had being looking him over, he had been doing the same thing to her, carefully looking her up and down, almost inspecting her. She grinned, and turned herself to the side gracefully, posing for him. Celox chuckled. "Sorry. I know it's inappropriate to say this, but you're really quite attractive."
Articuno considered returning the compliment, but wasn't quite sure she wanted to yet. "Well, that's fortunate for both of us, isn't it?" she replied jokingly.
Celox laughed. "Yes, I suppose it is. But, listen, is there really any rush to this entire thing? We have a little time, we might as well get to know each other a little."
Articuno nodded, feeling incredibly relieved. "Absolutely." She moved next to him, and sat down, leaning her head lightly against his chest. Celox smiled down at her and sat down as well, draping his wing softly across her like a blanket.
"So..." grinned Articuno. "Tell me about yourself."
Two helicopters sat in a clearing some distance away. The blades of one were spinning quickly, and Stolid was sitting inside, testing the radio equipment.
"Testing, testing, yada-yada-yada, you know the drill, can you still hear me?" he called into the headphones.
"Yeah, loud and clear. What about you?" replied Tracey.
"Fine, just fine. So what's going on? Why aren't you getting in?" Stolid asked.
Tracey, standing near the other helicopter, gestured to a pile of gear next to her. She put her hand to her mouth, speaking through her own headphones. "I've got to get this stuff ready to leave, since we need to make a quick escape later. You need to go and grab the Moltres, then get back here with it. It'll stay unconscious for a fair while yet, so don't worry. By the time you grab it and come back, I'll have packed everything. Then I jump in the other copter, together we ambush the Articuno, and then we make our fast getaway and get promoted for our effort. Got all that?"
Stolid thought for a few seconds, making sure he understood, then gave a thumbs-up through the windshield. "Got it! I've got two of the force field generators in here, though, and those noise suppressors you gave me. You got the other ones?"
"They're already aboard!" she shouted. "Be sure to turn on the suppressors as soon as you get over the forest, we don't know how good that Articuno's hearing is!"
Stolid gave another thumbs-up. "Deal! And with that, I'm outta here! Be right back!"
The helicopter slowly rose off the ground, and Stolid flew rapidly over the treetops. The hill with the incapacitated Moltres was a rather long walk, but it was mere minutes of flight time. Those legendary birds were already as good as captured.
Stolid loved it when missions went as planned.
Articuno had to admit, her concerns about disliking her 'partner' had been ill-founded. Celox was proving to be great fun to be with. He was witty, intelligent, caring, and handsome as well. She was still a bit nervous about what was to come, but Celox was as well, and that in itself helped. Despite his feathers being so smooth and cool, hugging close to him made her feel calm and warm.
She realised that Celox had said something, and that she had not heard it due to her wandering thoughts. She looked up, staring into his large, red eyes. "I'm sorry, I was thinking about something. What did you say?"
"Nothing of importance." smiled Celox. "I was just saying that I'm rather enjoying your company."
Articuno giggled, and stroked her wing down his front. "Well, I'm enjoying yours as well."
Celox look down at her affectionately. "I'm flattered."
There was a silence in the conversation, and they continued to look into each other's eyes. Articuno stroked her partner's chest again, making swirling motions across his stomach. Celox slowly shut his eyes, smiling contently. Articuno, encouraged by the positive response, continued the swirling patterns, reaching just a tiny bit lower with each stroke. Celox smiled wider and wider as her wing descended.
Just before she reached his privates, she stopped. He opened his eyes and looked at her innocently, and she grinned back at him teasingly.
"Why did you stop? It felt nice." Celox asked jokingly.
"I know," Articuno answered. "That's why I stopped."
They grinned at each other childishly. Celox slowly stood up, moving his side carefully away from Articuno's head. She looked up at him and tilted her head sadly, willing him to sit back down. Celox smiled, giving a tiny shake of his head, and he moved around behind her, leaning over on top of her. Articuno giggled as she realised what he was doing, and stood up. She tilted forward, letting him lie over him, and swished her long tail to the side.
Articuno felt his breath on her neck, warm and soothing. After a few seconds, Articuno shifted and looked back, smiling at what she saw. Celox's tip was poking out from underneath his feathers. She felt him lick affectionately up her neck, and she shuddered pleasurably, rocking her torso back against him. Celox seemed to become aroused by this, and his shaft continued to exit his slit, the tip poking lightly under her tail. Easily ten inches long in its full glory, the long, dark length had a slight upwards curve to it, tiny veins visible along its sides. A tiny trail of pre leaked from the wide, strong tip, and as Articuno stared at it, it began to slowly trail down the underside of the shaft.
Articunp moaned wantingly, lifting her rear up towards him. Caressing her back with his wings, Celox poked his tip softly near her slit, teasing her. Articuno moaned louder and stepped backwards, pressing herself against his belly. Celox exhaled slowly and curved his hips upwards, aiming his tip and touching it lightly against her entrance. She tensed up momentarily as a ripple of pleasure rocked through her, and he moved his hips gradually forward, his tip breaking past her entrance, slowly pushing inside her. Articuno cried out adoringly, and stepped backwards again, her wet walls slowly giving way as the shaft pushed deeper inside her. Her whole body shook as waves of pleasure rocked through her, the length spreading her far apart, filling her.
Celox suddenly stopped, and reversed the movement of his hips, pulling his member out again until the tip was only just hanging inside her. She looked over her shoulder, whining and wanting it back inside her. Celox smiled reassuringly and placed his wings over her shoulders, bracing his talons against the rocky ground of the cavern. Articuno, realising what he was about to do, braced as well, digging her talons into the crevices in the rock.
Celox rammed his hips forward suddenly, burying his length deep inside her. She cried out again from the shock of being parted so suddenly, her grounded talons only just managing to hold her still. Celox withdrew again without hesitation, and thrust inwards again. Articuno gasped for air as the length pumped in and out of her, crying out with every thrust, almost overwhelmed by the pleasure. Celox started to build up a regular rhythm, and Articuno moved against him instinctively, forcing the length as far inside herself as she could. She moaned uncontrollably as the slick length slid methodically along her walls, heating her insides. She spread her wings, flapping them strongly to keep herself balanced. Celox leaned further over her, his chest rubbing across her back, his breath heavy and random. He hugged her close with his wings, thrusting powerfully, his hips bucking back and forth, back and forth, back and forth...
Tracey packed her headphones into her backpack as Stolid jogged to join her. They had just finished landing their copters on some large ledges around the corner of where they were standing. Stolid gave her a thumbs-up.
"I think it worked." he whispered. "The choppers hardly made a sound. It doesn't know we're here."
Tracey nodded, whispering back. "Which means we have the element of surprise. We'll do the same thing as with the Moltres: Pump it full of needles before it can react. That okay with you?"
Stolid sighed. "...Yeah, it's okay, I suppose. We haven't really got any other choice. So are we ready?"
"Absolutely and completely. Now, follow me, and keep your voice down."
Tracey began to move around the mountain, looking for the cave the Articuno was hiding in. The flat piece of ground they stood on was part of a ledge that ran around the entire mountain, wide and smooth as if it were tailor-made for easy access. If she didn't know better, Tracey would have thought it was man-made.
She took her mind off the ground, and peered ahead, searching for the cave she had seen from her chopper. She pointed ahead and whispered out of the corner of her mouth to Stolid. "There it is. Come on, and stay quiet."
Stolid nodded, and slowly followed her as she edged alongside the stoney wall. They reached the cave entrance without making any apparent noise. It wasn't hidden at all, its only defence being the nigh-unclimbable mountainside.
"Alright, we'll both enter together." muttered Tracey. "Stay out of view of anything alive."
They crept around the corner, and were immediately inside the cave. Tracey frowned as she realised the cave continued until it bent out of view. She and Stolid would have to keep advancing in order to locate their prey.
Tracey started to move forward again, and Stolid placed a firm hand on her shoulder. She turned on him, and silently mouthed "What?!"
In reply, Stolid cupped a hand to his ear, a gesture to listen. Tracey held her breath, listening, wondering what he had heard.
When she realised what he was referring to, she was amazed she hadn't already noticed it herself. Various noises were echoing from further inside of the cave, most of them either loud, high-pitched cries or pure musical notes. Tracey froze as she realised that there was more than one source of sound, and Stolid's expression showed that he had also realised as much.
Stolid leaned forward, putting his mouth to her ear. "What do we do?"
"Stick with the plan!" she whispered, and she turned back to the cave, sneaking steadily forward. Stolid hesitated, and then followed.
As they moved through the cave, the temperature suddenly began to drop drastically. Tracey shivered as she continued, her breath visible as she crept alongside the rocky walls.
A couple of mild twists and turns later, they had come to what appeared to be the last corner of the cave. Beyond it, instead of the rock terminating, the cave appeared to open into a large cavern, like a long corridor opening into a laboratory. The noises were definitely coming from inside the cavern. Tracey smiled. They had finally found their targets. She and Stolid snuck to the corner, and she ducked down so Stolid could stand over him. They nodded to each other, and together they twisted their heads around the corner, peering into the cavern.
Whatever Tracey had expected to see, she hadn't expected to see this, even with the odd noises emanating. There were two Articunos in the centre of the room, and they were actually have sex right there on the rocks! The male was leaning on top of the female, pumping mercilessly into her as she emitted cries and groans, flapping her wings desperately.
Tracey and Stolid ducked their heads back out of view, and took several steps away from the corner. Stolin appeared to be in shock. "What do we do now?" he asked, his voice squeaking.
"We do what we came her to do, you moron!" Tracey growled in reply, forcing herself to keep her voice quiet. She withdrew her gun from its holster, and released the safety catch. "Every minutes counts, Stolid. I'm not going to delay capturing those stupid birds on account of their lebido!"
Stolid twiddled his thumbs uncomfortably. "But...it doesn't seem right to interupt them while they're...doing that. Can't we just wait until they're finished? It won't take them long."
"I told you, I'm not waiting!" she growled again, sneaking back to the corner. She peered around again, and pointed the gun around the edge of the rock. She aimed carefully at the male bird, and pulled the trigger. The gun gave a soft 'piff' noise as the needles exited. She wasn't completely sure how accurate her shot was, as the Articuno didn't flinch at all. She had always had faith in her marksmanship, however, so she quickly began to reload her gun.
Another soft 'piff' and a few seconds of impatient staring later, the effects of the drugs began to show in the two birds. Their eyes began to droop, and the male began to sway, unable to stay on his feet. A few more seconds passed, and they both collapsed clumsily forward on the ground, wings spread at awkward angles. Tracey pumped her arms in the air in silent victory. She put away her gun, and Stolid approached her, following her as she strode proudly into the centre of the cavern.
Tracey smiled, standing over the birds with her hands on her hips. "Mission accomplished. Now, let's get these two balled up and get out of here. No sense waiting around longer than we need to."
Stolid hesitated, staring at the two figures on the ground for a moment before wincing and pulling his eyes away. He appeared to be highly disturbed by something in the scene in front of him. Finally, he grimaced and glanced at Tracey, before running from the cave to fetch the force field generators. Tracey grinned triumphantly as she stood over the collapsed figures. The temperature began to rise again, and Tracey breathed comfortably as the air became normal once more. She looked at the fallen bodies before her, and frowned. The larger bird's maleness was still inside the female he was lying on. Tracey moved her foot back, and gave the male a firm kick in the stomach, knocking it away, the inert form landing on its back. She averted her eyes from it, and tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for Stolid to return.
