Kiro's Turn.
Xehan, number two of the New Haven army, had finally arrived to the mountain range where Barton
and his friends were waiting for there chance to fight. As he watched Calus and Kiro talk, he was
joined by a another cloaked member of their group. Xehen smiled under his cloak as he spoke, "Ah
Reikan, you are always punctual." Reikan smiled as he nodded, "We get to kill that brat, so I wouldn't
miss this for anything." Xehan shook his head, "I kill Barton, you take the angel and demon." Reikan
growled, "Why do I take his side kicks, why can't we take him together?" "My lieutenant,
my..apprentice, his powers are all but at one hundred percent now, so it's best if I do it." "Tch, fine, but
next time I get to have the fun. When do we attack?" Xehan just smirked and began walking toward
the group, "Now seems appropriate."
Calus was smiling at Kiro as he spoke, "Well, our guests aren't hiding anymore, I guess we can see
what Barton can really do eh old friend?" Kiro nodded in agreement, "Of course, but two on one
doesn't seem fair for the newly awakened hero, so let's help him and take the smaller one." Calus
nodded and smiled, "Barton, come on out." Within a couple of seconds a shirtless Barton came out of
the house, drawing some snickers from Kiro and a facepalm from Calus. "Again? Trying to get more
than one kid from her at a time or what?" Barton shrugged and stretched, "Maybe, but it helps her sleep
too. Anyway what's up?" Calus pointed at the two cloaked figures that had just made it into the open.
"Time for a test of your abilities. You take the captain, leave the other to us." Barton walked to join
Kiro and Calus before nodding, "Ok."
"It looks like we underestimated the demon, those ears are as good as we've heard." Reikan clicked his
tongue, "Maybe, but I doubt they help when I rip them off." "Now now, let's at least talk nice before we
kill them." The two men stopped when they were about ten feet from Barton and put their hoods down.
Xehan was the taller of the two but only by about an inch. He had short spiked up black hair and
brown eyes. Reikan had short brown hair that was also spiked up a bit and his eyes were a redish
brown. Xehan smiled as he spoke, "My name is Xehan, second in command and power of New
Haven. This is my lieutenant, Reikan, he is third in command and power. Barton, Calus, and Kiro, we
are here to kill you and take the Lucario." The trio smiled and Barton stepped forward, "You have to
get past me to get her." Xehan nodded, "I'd hoped for no less, so let's make sure we have the rules set,
you and I are one on one. Reikan takes the other two, seems fair, yes?" The trio nodded and Barton
just smirked, secretly he had begun to enjoy battle, and he was looking forward to testing himself now.
"Good, then let's begin this match." With his words he charged Barton, fist clenched and drawn back.
Calus and Kiro ran past Barton and straight toward Reikan, passing Xehan and issuing a warning on
their way, "Don't underestimate him just because he is a boy." Xehan just smiled as he threw the first
punch, aiming at Barton's face. Barton felt the fist connect but didn't budge an inch, he felt the pressure
of the fist on his skin, but there was no pain, just warmth. Xehan jumped back and looked the boy
over, "Maybe I should listen to your friends, so let's just go straight to the fun part." He threw the cloak
on the ground, revealing his black shirt with cargo pants. "I control earth, ice, water, and darkness." He
slammed his foot into the ground and out of it popped a scythe. The scythe was made from earth, but
the blade seemed to be made from darkness, as it was pitch black. Barton smiled as he raised his hand
to the sky and closed his fist slowly. Xehan watched as a small beam of light came from his hand,
extended and changed into a sword. He smiled as he charged Barton and the two began to exchange
slashes and thrusts.
As Barton was making his weapon, Kiro and Calus were exchanging punches and kicks with Reikan,
who surprisingly kept up with both of them. Calus was engaging him and the two seemed an even
match as punches connected, sending shockwaves through the battlefield. Calus drew back and sent a
punch flying, being caught almost immediately by Reikan, who proceeded to twist his body and send
Calus flying into the side of the mountain. After Calus was sent flying, Reikan was hit with an elbow to
the back of the head by Kiro. Reikan lurched forward and was sent forward again by Calus who had
delivered a knee to the back of his head. Reikan growled in anger as he turned to face them, only to
see both of them flipping, planting their feet into his chin, sending him flying upwards and away.
Reikan regained his senses in time to stop himself from slamming into the ground. He roared in anger as
he tore his cloak off, revealing that he wore the same clothes as Xehan. He stared angrily at the duo
that seemed to be making a joke out of him. "I wont be made a fool of, I wont." He roared loudly as
flames encased his body, crackling loudly as his wounds healed. He tossed his arms out to his sides as
the flames exploded, expanding out from his body and turning the ground into glass from their heat.
When the shell of fire had settled, Reikan was standing their with red armor and wings of red fire, in his
right hand was a lance of fire. "I'll incinerate you, body and soul, with my blazing flames."
Calus looked at Kiro and smiled, "You want to finish it, or should I?" Kiro stepped forward and smiled.
"Well your limitation device is still in place for you angels, so I think I will. Besides, a fire versus fire
match sounds fun." Kiro stepped forward and smirked at Reikan, "Well boy, it looks like we have the
same element, so lets see who wields it better." Kiro raised his hands to the sky as Calus went back to
the house to protect it from the battles. "I'm always stuck with grunt work." Kiro brought his hands
together and a white fire came from his palms, growing slowly. Soon the fire overtook his whole body
and expanded outwards in the same manner as Reikan's. the ground turned to glass and exploded
when out of the shell, Kiro came out, charging Reikan. His clothes had changed, he was wearing a
white armor, spikes coming from his elbows and wings of white fire from his back. His weapon was a
sword that was all white, except the hilt, which was a golden tinted red, with a blue gem in the middle.
Reikan's weapon changed to a red sword with a purple gem in the center. As the two swords clashed,
sparks and flames shot out, the ground cracking as they dashed and slashed at each other at a speed
that Calus was barely able to keep up with. Kiro and Reikan exchanged sword clashes on the ground
and in the air, each trying to outright over power the other. It didn't take long for Reikan to realize his
red fire couldn't match Kiro's white fire, or his experience. As the fought Reikan slowly began to draw
energy, pushing it into his armor. His only thought was to use his own technique, the one he developed
and burn to ashes everyone around. As Reikan flew towards Kiro, he discarded his sword, calling it
useless and used the fire in him to speed his punch and hit Kiro in the stomach. When the punch
connected Kiro doubled over, coughing a bit as Reikan smiled. Before Reikan could speak he realized
that his hand wasn't touching Kiro's stomach. Kiro smirked up at Reikan as he brought the boy's above
their heads with his own. "Not bad, but you can't use something that basic on me." Kiro pulled on the
boys arm, forcing the boy forward and into Kiro's knee. Reikan coughed up blood as Kiro brought his
fist back and dropped his sword before using the same technique as Reikan, bringing his fist slamming
into the boy's face at full speed.
As Reikan corkscrewed through the air and hit the side of the mountain he realized he was no match for
Kiro. As he tried to get free from the mountain side he realized that Kiro was staring him in the face
from a foot away. "You should see now you can't win. Do you still want to fight?" "FUCK YOU,
WAIT TILL I GET A HOLD..." was all he could say before Kiro laid another punch into his stomach.
As Reikan tried to recover, Kiro was unloading punch after punch into the boy mid-section and face.
After ten punches Reikan's armor cracked, and after two more, broke open, fire pouring out and
encasing his body once again. He roared as the flames pushed Kiro back and transformed around him.
Before long Kiro was looking into the shape of a red phoenix, Reikan in the middle, his eyes were solid
fire as he charged Kiro again. Kiro shook his head and held one hand out, "You should know
something before you die, Reikan. There is a difference between using your element, and owning your
element." Reikan was to far gone to hear Kiro's words, his mind was under the control of his own
element. Kiro opened his hand and slowly a ball of white fire appeared. With a voice as evil as his heart
the phoenix roared as Reikan threw a punch, aiming at Kiro's heart. Before the punch could get past
Kiro's hand, the ball expanded and stopped the attack dead in it's tracks. "Play time is over..boy."
Kiro's final attack began with a punch to Reikan's face, sending him flying back. Before he could open
his eyes, Kiro was already above him, bringing both hands down into Reikan's face again, sending him
flying down at an angle. Before his could even breathe, Kiro was beside him, sending him flying back
up into the air with a flip kick to his face. After traveling into the air Reikan, barely conscious, stopped
flying, his body about to begin it's fall to his death. Kiro appeared above him and spoke softly
"Goodbye, my fellow fire user. With a sickning impact, matched only by the loud crack it made, Kiro
punched the boy in the face, flames erupting from Kiro's hands as it connected. The punch sent Reikan
flying to the ground fast enough that Calus couldn't track where the boys body was. When he hit the
ground there was an explosion of dirt and fire. When everything cleared, Reikan had regained his
normal form, his body broken and bleeding, the boy laid there dead. Kiro landed slowly next to Calus
as his outfit returned to normal, his brown cloak covering everything but his face. "Was that required
Kiro, you didn't have to show him that much of your power." Kiro nodded and looked at Barton and
Xehan's fight. "He needed to know that there is more to strength then power." Calus shook his head,
"He was too young, it took me two hundred years to learn that lesson, and you even longer." Kiro
nodded, "True enough, one thousand years is a long time to learn a lesson as obvious as that."
After Reikan had perished, Xehan looked to where his body lay. "I guess we were fools to think we
could beat them now. I wonder if that's why he sent us here, to collect our souls for his ritual." He
clicked his teeth and tossed his weapon aside. "Alright, if I'm to die, I'm going all out, I'll show that boy
true power." Xehan tore his shirt, revealing an ancient seal on his chest. "Listen well Barton, I don't
think I can beat you, but I am going to give my one hundred percent to killing you for our lord. After I
remove this seal, I wont be able to stop myself, so if you have any hesitation about killing me, it will cost
you your life." Barton smiled and shook his head, his hair lifting up and turning a golden tinted white.
"Bring it on." Barton's eyes turned to a solid white as his hair changed color and shortened. "This ends
now, XEHAN!!"Chapter End Notes:What do they have in store for each other? Next chapter, "Light Versus Dark.
