Light vs. Dark
Barton, Chosen of the elements. Xehen, Haven's number two. They stare each other down, each one
trying to see through the others next move. As Xehan watched Barton's hair change, he began unsealing
his true power, the seal on his chest glowing a dark red, and running down his chest, like blood from a
wound. When the last of the seal was on the ground Xehan smirked at Barton, "Now, you will now the
true power of earth." Barton just smiled, his hair finished changing, showing the elements he chose to
wield at full power.
With a roar Xehan slammed his fists into the ground, sending shockwaves scattering out over the land.
Slowly a rumbling was felt, growing more and more powerful. Barton began looking around, confused
at first. Calus and Kiro had set up a barrier around the shack, protecting everyone inside. Finally the
rumbling stopped, but as it did a giant hand shot out of the ground at Barton. The hand was made of
stone, but even so was lightning fast, grabbing Barton and holding him in the air. As the hand moved
higher into the air, a body formed at the other end, laying down at first, but sitting up slowly. When the
body was fully standing, it was taller than the mountains, and looked just like Xehan. As Barton was
held out in front Xehan decided to speak. "I guess you could say this is my earthly clone. I control it
with only my thoughts, so I can still move my own body." As Xehan spoke, Barton realized the hand
holding him was starting to squeeze, and not softly, he was trying to squeeze Barton to death. "Is that all
you can do, Old Man?" His words struck Xehan, who couldn't hide his anger, "Damn you boy, you
think you can escape, just try it." Barton cocked his head and stared at him quizzically, "Think?" He
smirked, "I KNOW I can."
Barton sighed softly and closed his eyes, drawing in the power of light around him. The earthly Xehan
began squeezing around Barton faster, trying to stop him. Barton closed his eyes and began breathing
deeply. It took a matter of seconds before Barton's eyes flew open, his pupils gone, only bright white
eyes stared at Xehan. When his eyes opened, the hand squeezing him began to crack, light piercing
from every angle. With a confused look, Xehan watched as the hand was destroyed, his own hand
bleeding. "DAMN YOU BOY!!" The earth clone tried to punch Barton with all its might. Holding a
finger out, Barton stopped the punch, and with a look that stared into Xehan's soul he spoke. "Brute
force...useless against me. Xehen, had you not underestimated me, you might have lived longer, but you
brought death to yourself. It's a shame. I would have enjoyed a longer fight." Barton tossed the hand
into the air and flew at the clone, moving at the speed of light. Fist cocked back as far as he could,
Barton threw a punch into the clone's chest, tearing a hole the size of a house into it. As the clone began
to fall, it crumbled, falling to pieces and landing around Xehen. As Barton landed in front of Xehen he
stared at him, "I thought you would die, but when the clone's life ends, the connection is severed?"
Xehen nodded and smirked, "And, my hand heals from its death."
Barton smiled as his eyes flashed, lightning sparking from the corners, "I see, not bad Xehen." Xehen
shook his head, "But not good either, I don't think I can win against you." Barton shook his head, "No,
you can't." Xehen nodded, "Then I will take you with me. We will go to hell, TOGETHER!" Xehen
charged Barton at full speed, dust being kicked up. They both cocked back their fists and threw their
punches, their fists clashing at full power. When they collided, a shockwave was created, it spread
throughout the battlefield, trees being uprooted and all but the sturdiest of boulders were disintegrated.
Dust from the clash surrounded the fighters, blocking them from view. It took only a few moments, but
it felt like hours. After the dust settled, Xehen and Barton were staring into each others eyes, their fists
still touching. Xehen coughed up blood and smiled, "You really are strong, to think you, a boy, would
kill me. Allow me two gifts to help you. To get to my master, go south from here, travel the sea, we
have an island that we hid with our magic, you can find him there, just be sure to win, and tell Calus,
Chavely is alive. She's just hidden on the island, sleeping in a cave south of our hideout." Barton
nodded and gasped in horror as Xehen fell backwards, turning to dust as he fell. When Xehen had
turned to dust fully, Barton grabbed his hand and looked down, blood pouring from his arm. He walked
to Calus and Kiro slowly, his mind was foggy with questions and pain.
When Barton got to Kiro and Calus he looked up at them and then back to his arm, a pool of blood
forming on the ground. "I won, but it feels like my arm is dead weight." Calus nodded and helped
Barton inside, "Your not far off, it looks like he shattered the bones in your arm. You just need some
time to rest, your arm will heal quickly enough." Barton nodded, "He said Chavely is alive, hidden on
the island where Haven itself hides from the world." Calus nodded, "Then hurry and heal, so we can
save her and the world." Barton couldn't hear Calus, he had passed out while being helped into bed.
Kiro sighed and shook his head, "Still so young, it seems wrong to force all this on him." Calus nodded,
"It is, but his parents were the ones that wanted it. They used all their strength to keep Haven in check
for so long." Kiro stared at the floor, "And died for him and the world. I guess it's not surprising he has
their combined strengths, but can he really beat Lucifer?" Calus looked out the window and nodded,
"Not alone, but I'll be with him. What will you do Kiro?" Kiro smirked, "I'll stay with the boy, forcing
the world's problem on him isn't right, so I'll take my share of the burden." Calus nodded and stepped
out, "The limiter will be removed for the final battle, so I'll fight too. Let him rest, we have that much
time at least." "Yeah. Come on, let's make some food for when he wakes up."
