New Mission
It was almost noon when everyone woke up, and unanimously agreed to being hungry, so Barton
volunteered to fish as Bria and Nadi got wood and drinking water. After the girls set up to cook the fish
Barton came strolling into their area carrying two large fish, each one was about half of Barton's body
length and he was carrying them over his head, one in each hand. He set them down by the wood and
smiled, "Will these do?" Bria laughed and jumped on the biggest one, "This is mine," and just to be
playful she bared her teeth and let out a playful growl. Never being one to back down Barton jumped
on Bria and growled back at her. The two laughed at each other and kissed each other, "Alright I will
share.." The group set the fire up and let the fish cook for a bit as they talked. Nadi started the
conversation, "So, what do we do when we get to Pallet Town, how do we find Calus?" Barton
shrugged and took a drink of water, "He will find us, always does. I just hope the town is hidden well
enough that we don't get found." The girls nodded and Bria rubbed her stomach, "At least until our
special package is delivered." Barton smiled and nodded, "I have to ask lady mew when she returns if
its possible for the child to have acquired my powers." After the group ate they got dressed and again
started walking on their path to Pallet Town.
It wasn't long before they came to a town, which upon their inquiry was found out to be Viridian City,
less than an hours walk to Pallet Town. So rather than just run towards their goal they decided to try
and stock up on supplies at the local Poke Mart. Needless to say their entrance to it caused a bit of a
stir, Gardevoir and Lucario were not exactly native to this area so there were a lot of trainers asking for
battles and trades, which Barton turned down quickly. They quickly got some food and drinks and ran
towards Pallet town, a couple of guys chasing them for battles. Upon their arrival they were flagged
down by Calus, who decided to disguise himself in a large brown jacket, black pants, and a hat to hide
the ears. They group then walked to a large building that had a sign out front addressing it as,
"Professor Oak's lab." Barton became skeptical, "Why are we going in here?" Calus smiled and took
his hat off as he entered, "Because Oak and all Scientists are helping us to fight Haven. Oak is going to
help us get information and we are going to allow him to see your child when it's born. He wants to see
what a human and pokemon child is capable off and to give it a special collar we helped him develop
which will hide its energy trail from Haven."
By this time the group had reached Oak's office whom greeted them with a smile and a wave. "Hello,
welcome to Pallet Town, I am Professor Oak and I will be in charge of providing you with information
while you lay low here." Barton waved back and introduced the group, "I am Barton, the Lucario is
Bria, and the Gardevoir is Nadi." Oak nodded and walked to his file cabinet. "That's good, now let me
give you some information that got here before Calus did." That caught Calus's attention and he cocked
his head to the side slightly. "It seems a few raids have been conducted by an unknown group. on some
Pokemon Centers, stealing only what we would consider rare, uncommon, and all around valuable
Pokemon. In the list are Chansey, Scyther, Pinsir, Shining Pokemon, Dittos, all forms of the
Eeveelutions and of course Lucario. There are more but our list isn't complete. We assume it to be the
work of Haven because each time they are wearing all black and the leader has a purple and blue letter
H on the front of his shirt. What we can assume their motives to be is they need them for their legitimate
front, a Pokemon Auction house, where they auction off, "legally owned" Pokemon. So while we know
this much, we can't seem to protect the centers and by watching their actions, it looks like the pokemon
center in Viridian City is next, and if they previous actions continue it will happen at night when the
center is closed, and most likely tonight when most trainers are at the Pokemon League. From the
looks of things they didn't have special powers and they were using Pokemon themselves. We have a
couple of trainers that have agreed to watch the centers but we'd like to have you there just incase. Will
you take the time and patrol the Pokemon Center?" Barton nodded but looked at the floor quickly, "I
don't have any Pokemon to battle with should it come to that." Oak and Calus both laughed and waved
for the group to follow, "Oak provides starter pokemon and I think being a trainer will be good for you,
training your mind as well as your powers. So you only need to choose which pokemon you'd like,
Oak only has a few left but I convinced some to help and the agreed to be yours, so in all you have four
pokemon, plus Oak's starter so five."
When they finished talking they had been led to Oak's main hall again where their were 10 balls on the
table. six of which were lined up in a group with the pictures of whatever Pokemon where in it and four
that were laying on the other end with a note saying,"Hold for Barton." In the other six their was a
Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Vulpix, Pikachu, and a Geodude. Oak pointed to them and smiled,
"Choose one." Without much thought Barton picked up the Vulpix ball and released the Pokemon
inside. The Vulpix came out and glared at Barton. "This BOY is my trainer, pfft. I bet he doesn't even
know how to battle." Her attitude was beginning to annoy Barton so he decided to let her know he
could understand her, "Hey you there, fuzzy shut the hell up and stop whining. I chose you because I
like fuzzy Pokemon, if you want to go back in the ball feel free to bitch some more." His words startled
the small fox, she wasn't expecting him to understand her, "How do you know what I am saying?"
Barton smirked and took a bow, "Because I am Barton, Chosen one." His words made the Vulpix's
face turn white, she looked like she was sick. "No..no way, your...the chosen..?" Barton smiled and let
a small flicker of fire come out of his eyes and nodded. The fox fell down and looked at the floor,
cursing herself, "Sorry.." Barton shrugged and turned back to Calus,"What did you get to help me?"
Calus smiled, "Open them and see, some of them you haven't seen yet.." Barton shrugged and opened
the balls one by one, releasing a female Eevee, a male Scyther, a male Charizard, and a Latias. Barton's
face was priceless, he'd never seen some of them before and he was shocked that they had agreed to
help him.
The Eevee spoke first, "My name is Kayleigh, if I could chose I'd like to evolve into a Vaporeon or
Glaceon." Barton smiled, "I'll try to do that." The Scyther was next and introduced himself and the
Charizard, "I am Leon and he goes by Flame, no one knows why." Finally the Latias spoke up,
"Uhm..if you want my name it's..Ezzy.." The Scyther again spoke up, "Before we agree to help you we
want to know you are truly the chosen and not some hoax using us for power. Let's go outside and see
a demonstration." Barton nodded and led everyone outside. When everyone had gathered in a circle
around him Barton decided the best way was a quick rundown of elements. First up he channeled fire
in his left arm and soon had a sword made of solid red flame. Next he grew wings of solid lightning and
hovered above the ground. Then he channeled air through his right arm and produced a shield of air.
For earth he had some solid rock pillars come up and wrap around his legs, leaving greaves of solid
rock. Finally he grew a breastplate made of solid light. "What do you think?" Leon and Kayleigh were
both silent, while Ezzy and Vulpix ran around him squealing and bombarding him with questions. Flame
sat there dumfounded and soon Barton had relaxed enough to put all his armor and weapons away.
Soon he was approved by everyone and they all decided to stake out the Pokemon Center.
They group headed to the center and decided to stay there until the next morning. Shortly after dark a
loud crash awoke everyone in the center and upon investigating, several men in black had invaded by
breaking the front door down with their pokemon. The pokemon that were there included a Machoke,
a Machamp, a Graveler, a couple of Hitmonlees and an Onyx in the rear. In total there was 6 Haven
trainers and 3 to defend the Center. One Trainer sent out a Rapidash and a Blastoise, the other sent out
a Raichu and a Electrode. Barton decided to send out Leon and Flame to take on the big guys. "Alright
Leon take out that Machoke, Flame take that Machamp. Rather then fight in the Center Barton had his
pokemon knock their opponents out of the building and fight in the open. Soon the other trainers
followed suit and there was a six on six battle outside, each of the trainers defending the pokemon
center decided to take out the Onyx first so the Blastoise was chosen as it's opponent. Within seconds
the Onyx was out of the battle because of a combo of Hydro Pump and a Thunder from the Raichu.
With a six on five advantage the Rapidash was elected to take on one of the Hitmonlees while being
assisted by the Electrode. The Hitmonlee's trainer was soon to be taken out of the battle as the two
pokemon used a combo of Thuderwave and Fire blast to make a six on four advantage. The next up
was Machamp who made quick work of the Electrode using his Mach Punch. It's next target was the
Rapidash which was able to weaken it considerably but was still beaten, leaving everything all tied up.
Not wanting to wait any longer Barton sent out Flame who was more then eager to fight. The
Machamp didn't last long with Flame using a Seismic Toss to knock it out and bring the advantage
back. Barton pulled Flame back and allowed the Blastoise to take control as the Haven's chose
Graveler as their next battler. With such a large type advantage it took less than a minute to beat
Graveler, whose last vision was a large Hydro Pump to the face. The last Hitmonlee stepped up and
was soon beaten by Leon who used False Swap to leave it unable to fight anymore. All that was left
was the Machoke, who was beaten by more or less all four of the pokemon, leaving the Haven's
completely decimated.
The Haven trainers decided that discretion would be the better part of valor and returned their
Pokemon and disappeared into the darkness. Each of the trainers returned their Pokemon and were
each given a room for free to rest in after their Pokemon were healed. While waiting for them to
recover they felt it best to talk about a strategy should they come back. While the trainers talked Bria
had snuggled up close to Barton and fallen asleep in his arms with him stroking her fur. The trainers
eventually decided that it would be best to get the Pokemon League involved and have them station
guards in the Pokemon Centers, but to do that someone had to get to the League with a message or if
possible maybe a Haven member. So with everyone in agreement they felt they should finish the night
and as soon as it was light, everyone would run towards the League and try to get their help. With a
goodnight they split to their rooms and slept or tried to.
With the morning sun waking them everyone gathered and ate quickly, some of the trainers had gone to
the local mart to get supplies and within an hour everyone was stocked with food and healing items for
their Pokemon, which had been supplied by Calus before he departed back to Heaven to deliver the
news. The group left, each with one of their Pokemon out for scouting, Barton using his Vulpix, the
others using a mix of Eevee, Pikachu, Pidgeot, and Fearow, so everyone felt confident that they could
spot any kind of trouble before it hit. The journey was peaceful so when they reached the League gates
they were all happy. They approached the guard and asked him to let them pass to the League to
deliver their news of the Pokemon Center break ins. Hearing this the guard let them through and gave
them an escort so they could reach their goal faster. They couldn't get directly to the League top official
but they got in to the second in command who was more than willing to listen to the reports.
"Based on your testimony it seems likely that they wont stop just because they got beat once, they may
attack the center again. I can have people at the Viridian center before night and I can message the
gyms to watch over the others until I get some men stationed there." He took his time before speaking
to the guards, "Send a message to each gym leader, tell everyone to have their strongest followers
stationed at the centers every night and for them to be ready incase they are needed." The guards
nodded and ran out of the room. The official turned back to the group with a smile, "We should be able
to protect the centers for a bit, but if the group is as powerful as we think we may need to enlist the help
of all trainers. Please if you would we'd like you to watch over some of our gyms for us. We will split
each of you to a separate center and under the care of that gym, and we will give you all a free room
and food while you are there. Now please for the sake of the Pokemon please hurry." The group
nodded and left the room quickly, everyone being given separate gyms to report to and a paper to
show the leader showing they are legit.
Barton and his group had been assigned to Saffron City's gym and after completing some minor
business he and his friends were airlifted off to the Saffron gym. It took only a couple hours to get there
by air and they were landed on the roof of the gym where the leader, Sabrina, was waiting for them.
After some small talk she decided they were who they said they were and agreed to help. "It's time to
prepare the rest of my gym, we will be leaving for the center in about fifteen minutes so I recommend
you finish preparations quickly." With that everyone was lead downstairs to meet the rest of the
trainers, most were somewhat new to Pokemon and all were using Psychic types. Everyone finally
finished all their preparations and the first group left to go and check the center early. After an hour
everyone had arrived at the gym, in all there were ten trainers and the gym leader Sabrina. Nurse Joy
was happy so many people were willing to help because she had been intrusted with a few valuable
Pokemon and she had a bad feeling someone would attempt to take them. Upon further questioning Joy
informed the group they would be protecting a very young Riolu, an injured Milotic, and a trainer less
Venasaur. Bria volunteered to speak to the Riolu and see if she could get it to stay near her and Barton
during the night. Nadi went to speak to the Milotic to see if she could help her in anyway. Barton called
out Leon who agreed to chat with the Venasaur and try and get it to help. As expected Bria came back
holding the little Riolu in her arms, he seemed to try and hide in her fur when everyone came into view.
After talking to the Riolu he agreed to stay behind where it was safe. Nadi returned to say the Milotic
would be able to battle but she was trainer less, being abandoned after losing a battle. One of the
trainers agreed to take her and watch over her. That left Leon who came back after about an hour. He
and the Venasaur had finally come to an agreement, he would fight but afterwards he wanted to be
released back to the wild.
This group of eleven total trainers and some injured but still battle ready Pokemon would be protecting
the center for the next few days, Sabrina being in charge. When everyone had been given a room they
all went to them to rest, some hoping Haven would attack, others hoping that everything was a hoax.

holding the little Riolu in her arms, he seemed to try and hide in her fur when everyone came into view.
After talking to the Riolu he agreed to stay behind where it was safe. Nadi returned to say the Milotic
would be able to battle but she was trainer less, being abandoned after losing a battle. One of the
trainers agreed to take her and watch over her. That left Leon who came back after about an hour. He
and the Venasaur had finally come to an agreement, he would fight but afterwards he wanted to be
released back to the wild.
This group of eleven total trainers and some injured but still battle ready Pokemon would be protecting
the center for the next few days, Sabrina being in charge. When everyone had been given a room they
all went to them to rest, some hoping Haven would attack, others hoping that everything was a hoax.
Barton and his group laid in their bed, Bria and Nadi each on a different side, as well as Kayleigh, who
was laying on Barton's chest. Everyone was sleeping peacefully, but would it last?
