Sorrow Ch.3
Sorrow Ch.3
The monster that was once two of the worst demons they had ever met stood in front of them. Bane was growling, "How the hell are either of you two still alive?"
The merged creature chuckled, "That's for us to know and for you to find out. Heh. Though, it was foolish to think an evil like us would be vanquished."
Inferno barked, "Who the hell brought you back Sarak, and who would be dumb enough to bring Death along with you?"
The thing smiled, "Sarak, Death. Those names don't fit us anymore. Until we are restored to our proper forms we should go by a new name."
The skull of Death chuckled, it's voice was raspy and cold, "Indeed. I think we need a name that is fitting. I think we need a name that will strike fear in the hearts of others. And I think I know that perfect name. Carnage." The skull chuckled, "Yes that will do. We are Carnage. We are the messengers of death and distruction."
Inferno spat, "You idiots couldn't beat us before. What makes you think you can do it now?"
Carnage's heads smiled, "Because, we are strong." Carnage leaped at the group, with blinding speed. His tail came crashing down, glowing from a poison/iron tail combo. The earth shook and shattered on impact, sending debris flying. Inferno and Sky leaped back, the others leaped to the sides. Before any of them could retaliate Carnage was going after Bane and knocked Rika out of the way with a wing attack. Bane was caught off gaurd and recieved a head butt for it, knocking him into a tree. Blaze and Tia were the next to be targeted, both being sent hurtiling into the forest by a poison sting, from the serpent head, and a shadow ball, from the wolf skull. Carnage then went after Inferno and Sky, with reckless abandon. Sky was knocked aside quickly, Inferno barely able to keep up with Carnage's attacks. Then Carnage went in for a double bite, and met with a fire blast to the wolf skull. The creature was sent back, but the attack had done little, he shrugged of the flames and stared at the houndoom. "Is that the best you can do Inferno? We think you've gotten weak with our absence. I mean..." Before he could finish a fire blast, hyper beam, shadow ball, thunder bolt, and ice beam hit carnage in the back, and was soon met by a dark fire beam (Inferno's supped up hyper beam) to it's front. Carnage let out a monstrous cry as the energy peaked, creating a large explosion. The dust covered the area like a thick blanket, shielding Carnage from everyone elses view.
When the dust finally settled Carnage was gone, Bane looked around, "Where'd he, it, they go?"
Inferno carefully looked the place over, focusing on anything that looked suspicious, "I don't know."
A tremor went through the ground as Carnage emerged beneath Sky and the others. He shot up and sent them all into the air where they were quickly beaten back down to the ground. Inferno launched a shadow ball barrage but only hit empty space as Carnage came charging full force into him. They tumbled around, each trying to land a hit. Carnage managed to pin Inferno against a tree and smiled, "Well, looks like you lose Inferno. I only wish we could rape that little bitch Sky infront of you. Ah well." Carnage was about to sink it's fangs into Inferno's neck when a strange sound echoed across the area. It was a horn, it was deep and loud. Carnage looked up, "Well looks like it's your lucky day. Don't worry you'll all die soon enough. It's just gonna take a little longer." Carnage flung Inferno toward his friends and took of into the sky and disappereared beyond the trees. Inferno jumped up and cursed when he Carnage was gone. "Are you all alright?"
Bane groaned, "Despite the beating they, it, he gave us yeah. I can't believe either of them are back."
Blaze dusted himself off, "It's the fact that they're so powerful that has me concerned. That was unreal, not even Biogen could do that to anyone."
Sky turned toward the Biogen base, "speaking of which."
Inferno moved toward the base, "Carnage was set on protecting that, we should go in and see why."
Rika sighed, "Why? Who ever was helping out that thing must have found what they were looking for. I mean why else just let us go?"
They all nodded, but proceeded toward the base anyway. As they entered they carefully wound their way down the corridors, keeping their eyes peeled for even the slightest thing out of place. The base appeared to have been abandoned for some time. Biogen was completly destroyed in the last battle, and now these various bases were all that was left of their existence. That and whatever vile things that they had created. The group found their way to the main computer, Blaze immediatly began to search through the system and find anything that could be of use to the newly risen Carnage. After a long time of searching Blaze stepped away from the consol and sighed, "I can't find anything in this place that Carnage could have used. There's only two things that this base was working on, one was a cellular regeneration boost, which was a failure, and the other was a type of potion that seemed to be geared toward encouraging blood lust, but it was a flop too."
Tia looked at the screen, "What did the potion do?"
Blaze shrugged, "Doesn't say. Only that it didn't encourage any traits that would allow for better warriors."
Inferno sighed, "Something had to have been here. Most likely they found it and deleted it from the files."
Blaze nodded, Bane growled, "Now what?"
Inferno pondered over the question for awhile, "Not much we can do. Carnage will show himself again. We'll just have to wait for that to happen."
Sky nodded, "Next time we'll know what were up against."
Rika streached, "So shall we continue toward our little home Inferno?" Inferno nodded and the group began to exit the room.
Meanwhile up on a cliff far from the base the human and pokemon waited as Carnage came up. "You found what you were looking for?"
The human looked at Carnage, "Yes. Although it was a small thing and relatively incomplete we can fix that. With this," he held up a document, "We'll be able to get them at their very hearts."
The pokemon chuckled, "I can't wait to see our prey's face when we show up. I've wanted to see fear in those ugly eyes for so long."
The human patted his pokemon, "That day will come soon. Count on it. And as for you Carnage, I'll seperate you when all of them are dead and gone. And after they all suffer of course."
The two heads of Carnage laughed, "Of course, revenge is best delt with a large side of pain."
The three laughed as they walked off toward their next destination. Carnage, or rather the two minds in Carnage, vowed that when they were seperated they would kill those two.

A day had passed since the groups meeting with Carnage, and they were approaching the spot where Inferno and Rika's home was located. Rika was obviously giddy with exitment, she was ahead of the rest, Inferno was behind them. As they neared two large trees a bayleef and a jolteon appeared, "Who are you lot? What buisness do you have in this place?" The bayleef looked at them sternly as he spoke.
Rika stumbled back and fell on her ass, Inferno took a few sniffs, then walked up, shaking his head, "I don't believe it. You two were put up as gaurds."
The jolteon growled, "Watch it stranger! We won't let some mongrel mutt enter this place!" then he got a look at Inferno's eyes, and at Tia and Blaze, "Espesially some bizarre ones like you."
Inferno just dismissivly snorted, "Listen up, Spark, don't test my patience. And I suggest you stand aside, Raze."
The jolteon and bayleef looked at Inferno, surprise written all over their faces, "Do we know you?"
Rika poped in front again, "Spark? Raze? Is it really you two? Great to see you again guys. Boy you guys sure have grown since I left. But then again so have I. And of course Inferno obviously changed."
The two pokemon's eyes went wide with realization, "Inferno? Rika? Your back?" The bayleef, Raze, gave a great big smile, "I didn't think we'd see either of you again."
Inferno huffed, "Well this is my home aint it? I thought I should visit it at least once."
Spark was sitting with a big grin on his face, "Nice to see you too mutt. So I take it these are all friends of yours?" Inferno and Rika nodded, "So have you two become tight?" He said it with a particularly sly smile.
Inferno batted him on the head, "No idiot. I found a mate before I ran into Rika again."
Raze leaped forward, "Really which one of these guys?"
Sky came up, "Me. The name's Sky and nice to meet you."
Spark chuckled, "She's a looker Inferno. No wonder you picked her." Inferno batted him again. "Heh. Rika you have the same luck as him?"
Bane walked up, beside Rika, "Yes she has. I'm Bane."
"The two behind us are Blaze, and Tia." Inferno pointed to each, "Don't give them any crap because they look different."
Raze chuckled, "Of course not. They're with you after all, so that means they must be okay. Oh but look at us chatting you all up. Come on I'm sure the entire place will be happy to see you all."
The group followed the two until they came to a large central area where a number of pokemon were. One of them was an aged blaziken, "Spark! Raze! What is the meaning of bringing these strangers here!?"
Inferno chuckled, "Well I'll be damned, old man Flanno, your still alive. I thought for sure a decrepit old fossil like you would have crumbled to dust by now."
The blaziken stared at Inferno, "I know only one fool that would speak such disrespectful things to an eldar." he came up to Inferno, "Inferno I'm glad to see you alive and well." Flanno patted him on the head. "And with what I assume to be good friends."
Rika jumped up, "Yep. The mightyena and absol are our mates. The other's are good friends who've helped us out on more than one occasion."
Flanno examined Rika for a bit, "Unbelievable! Rika!? You came along with this dog? You two were good friends though, so I shouldn't be surprised. Ha ha, nice to see you again too dear, now let me meet these others." The group introduced themselves to Flanno as well as the entire crowd that gathered. The entire thing had become a rather large welcome home party, which was marred by one obvious absence. "Inferno I think it might be wise to see you father." Inferno turned toward the path that led to his home, and sighed, this was the last thing he wanted to do.
Sky bumped up against him, "Let's go I'd like to meet him. And I want to make sure you do too."
Inferno sighed, "Alright then." They went down the path that lead to his old den. It had been a while since he'd been down this path, and yet it was still the same. It was quiet, which was choking, and it was well kept. Inferno remembered all the times he followed this path, going to and from the place where his mother and father had made for themselves. He smiled a bit, but then remembered that last few times he went down this path, when his mother went out hunting he tagged along, they were talking about his future, mainly how she felt so sure he would be a great houndoom, a pinicle of their species. Then Sarak came and took her. Then after that he walked down this path just once more, when he left to kill the snake. No matter what he could say, he had still turned his back on his family, abandoning them because he felt like a failure. A tear fell down his cheek, he shook it off and looked up ahead, toward the gaping hole that was the den he'd grown up in.
As they got to the entrance someone spoke, "I see my back turning son has returned home. Well more like heard. Why are you back Inferno?"
Inferno turned to see a large and aged houndoom, sitting on a log looking out into the forest. "Every should come home at one time or another."
"Thought you could come back since you killed the snake. But then again you needed to work up the courage to come here. You turned your back on our family Inferno, all because of what you couldn't have done as a pup." Inferno's father's back was still to him.
"I didn't want to come back at all actually. Rika did. And no she's not my mate. Honestly I know what I did was selfish, but then again were you there to see what happened to her? No. I was and did." Inferno sighed, "But that still isn't an excuse."
The old houndoom stood up, "Why did you come back?"
Inferno stayed silent for a long time, "I suppose because I want to make amends. I'm not sorry for my choice, many good things happened because of it. I am sorry if my choice hurt anyone though. I just couldn't stand knowing that when I was needed most I couldn't do a thing."
Inferno's father jumped down and looked him in the eyes. A long moment of silence passed, then his father took a deep breath, "Nice to see you again son." he had a kind and gentle smile.
"Nice to see you to...dad." Inferno had a triumphant smile.
Then his father saw Sky, "By the way, who are you?"
"I'm Sky."
"Heh. I see you decided to go with an absol. Got to admit she does seem like the right sort to keep you in check." Inferno turned away, blushing.
"Nice to meet you. Now see Inferno I told you this would all end well." Sky nudged him.
"Oh Inferno what happened to you? Those aren't the same eyes you left with."
"I'll tell you the story along with the others. Come on let's go." His father nodded and went toward the central area with Inferno and Sky right behind him. "Oh by the way your little girl is doing just fine with her arcanine mate."
He looked back, "You saw her?"
"Yeah she was doing okay." Inferno had a big old smile.
When they got back to the center, Flannon was trying to keep order, "Bout time you got here whelp. Everyone wants to hear what you've been up to. And these damned young fools won't tell the tale."
Inferno sighed, he slowly walked up with his friends and turned to the crowd. He saw a lot of faces he recognized, many new ones, and all of them were waiting to hear what he'd had been doing. Inferno chuckled, he'd forgotten that he was a well known before, now he must be a big time celebrity. He took a deep breath, and began the tale with when he met Sky.
The monster that was once two of the worst demons they had ever met stood in front of them. Bane was growling, "How the hell are either of you two still alive?"
