Sorrow CH.4
As Inferno finished his tale, ending where he had just reappeared after the giant explosion, the entire crowd cheered. Inferno couldn't repress the big smile that came to his face. He'd left out the more interesting bits since young were present, but he did hint to them, which got him a few praises from some of the guys in the group. Flanno approached Inferno as the cheers died down, "You've certainly been through a lot pup. First you kill Sarak once, then meet Sky, then the others, then you kill Sarak again. Just to be certain Sarak is dead right?" Flanno said it in a joking fashion, but his chuckle disappeared when he saw Inferno look down, scowling. "So that snake didn't want to go."
"Not exactly. He did die, but somehow, someway, someone brought him back. And they also brought Death back and fused those two together." Inferno shook his head, "I just don't know who could do that though. Biogen's gone so we have no suspects."
Flanno nodded, "indeed. Someone has to be planning something very dreadful. Who ever is the hand that is moving the pieces, it is obvious that they are far more dangerous then Sarak and Death combined." the aged blaziken pondered on the subject, "Regardless. I'm sure you will all perserver. I don't doubt that you will see many trails, but I also don't doubt that you'll triumph."
Rika yawned, "Of course. Man you are really could at stating the obvious."
Flanno turned to Rika, "Watch your tongue youngen. I will tan that hide of yours, and don't think your gaurd dog will get in my way."
Bane shook his head, "I won't. I'm not going to fight an elder, if I win I beat up an old guy. If I lose I lost to an old guy. That's a no win situation."
Rika scoffed, "Your just a big chicken. I wonder if you got feathers under that fur." Rika then pushed aside some of his fur.
Sky giggled, "So what's next? Where do we go next?"
Flanno straitened up, as much as he could at least, and faced them, motioning for them to gather, "Listen I have an idea for that. I request a favor from you all."
Inferno eyed the elder suspiciously, "What kind of favor?"
"Follow me and I'll show you." Flanno proceeded off, the others right behind him.
Flanno led them through an area of the forest that was well kept, but looked to get little traffic, Inferno looked about the area for a bit, "This is the path to the shrine. What's up old man?" Flanno made no responce, instead he just kept going forward. Eventually they reached a large statue, surronded by rocks with runes carved into them. The statue itself was of a mythical creature, a god, from a religion that humanity had abandoned. The thing had giant wings, shaped somewhat like a charizards, while the main body looked like a human, with pointed ears, and a seviper tail. The god wore armor of an ornate design and had a large indent in the center of the brest, in the shape of star. Inferno looked the statue over once then gasped, "Someone stole the Star of Albaki!"
Flanno gravely nodded, "It occured during the morning. I was coming here pray, as usual when I saw a gang of pokemon running from the area. I found the Star gone. I've heard rumors about this group, they are pokemon thieves that go around stealing anything that has any remote value. They are led by a tropius named Saladin. They are a very ruthless bunch and have caused a lot of trouble for everyone in the area, and worse yet they might leave at any moment. I need you all to go to their current lair and retrieve the Star. Please Inferno you know how important the Star is."
Inferno stared at the hole in the chest, "Where's their hideout?"
Flanno seemed to lose a couple years in his face, "Well I sent out Spark to track them just yesterday. He came back and said they set up their little base in the cave just east of here."
Inferno groaned, "Just great! They set up in Vixthra Caverns!"
Sky, Bane, Blaze, and Tia all looked confused, Sky put her confusion to voice, "What the hell is Vixtha Caverns?"
Rika sighed, "It's a big bad place. It's suppose to be the resting place of a very evil dragon. It was a Charizard that was big and terrible. Legend say's he caused a lot of trouble for everyone around here, until a hero came. Now he claimed to be sent by Albaki, the statue is what Albaki was supposed to look like, and he quickly vanquished the dread Vixthra."
Flanno shuddered, "It is a truly chilling tale to hear it in full. Vixthra was a monster of a grand order, who tortured and killed for his entertainment. It was only through Albaki's divine light that the shadow of that dragon was destroyed. We owed a lot to Albaki, for sending that brave warrior. He was supposed to be next to this shrine, but declined the honor since only Albaki was to be thanked."
Inferno shrugged, "Not sure how much of the tale is true though. Obviously Albaki's statue was erected for some reason, so it is very likly that Vixthra did exist and that a warrior came and slayed him."
Flanno shuddered again, "But that is not all." Every one looked at him, even Rika and Inferno, "Legends say that if ever the Star of Albaki be brought to the grave of Vixthra he would rise again and continue his rain of suffering. I fear far worse will befall us soon. Please get the Star and bring it back."
Inferno shrugged, "I don't believe in all those legends myself, but I won't let those thieves hold something that belongs to my home. I'll gladly go and bring the Star back."
Rika thumped her chest, "This is my home too, and so help me noone is gonna cause trouble for it while I'm around. Those fools will regret the day they messed with my home."
The other all agreed to go to the caverns. As they set off for the east Sky came up to Inferno, "What's so important about the Star of Albaki? Why is it so big to your home?"
Inferno looked at her, "Regardless of the truth of the legends that Star does have some power in it. It has amazing recoverative capabilities, able to heal poisoning, burning, anything really. It can make all injuries vanish, no matter how grave. As long as the fellow isn't dead when he's brought he'll survive." Sky's eyes went wide with astonishment, "However the Star can only do so much in one day. It take some time for it's energy to gather, so it's only used when the injuries are bad enough to warrant it. Even if it can't bring Vixthra back, that Star is too powerful to be left in the hands of those thieves. Besides that Star is probably what's keeping Flanno alive and well. Since he see's it the most some of it's energy flows into him. He would have been dead long ago if it wasn't for that thing."
Rika sighed, "The Star doesn't make one immortal, but it does allow them to live significantly longer. And Flanno is a good guy, he's like a grandfather to everyone. Even Inferno here respected the guy, although he wasn't obvious about it."
Sky stayed silent for a bit, then asked another question, "What kind of god is Albaki?"
Inferno shrugged, "No one is that sure anymore. But most agree that he had to be a god of healing and justice. I myself don't care all that much. I never just let myself believe anything, at least most of the time. Flanno was torn between joy and disappointment that I questioned a lot about Albaki. He want's everyone to have an open mind, but he also believes in the legends. He's just a walking paradox." he sighed, "Flanno was the one of the few that didn't think my leaving was stupid and suicidal. He thought that my leaving was best for me, and he knew I'd be back happier. That old fool's right more times than I'd like to admit."
Blaze grunted, Tia nodged him, "What's wrong?"
Blaze didn't look up at him, "This place just reminds me of our old home. Even had a jolly old man that everyone seemed to like. I kind of wish that old codger had lived long enough just so the others would have accepted me."
Tia just stared at him, "If that had happened then we wouldn't be together."
"Which is why I said 'kind of' stupid." He gently bumped her.
"Hmph! Me stupid. Your the moron who couldn't tell I had a crush on you for so long." Blaze sighed.
Inferno stopped at a rise, and gazed toward their destination, a massive cave that looked like an evil face ready to consume anything that came close enough, "That's Vixthra Caverns. We should be able to get their late in the evening. However, we should get some sleep before then. So tomarrow morning will be when we introduce ourselves to those bandits." The others nodded and followed Inferno down, and far enough untill he felt it was to dangerous to sleep any closer. The group prepared for a restful sleep and for the restless day ahead.

Meanwhile, far away from the group Carnage, the human, and pokemon we traveling through a very dead area. Everything in the area was black, dead, and very decayed. Carnage looked about the area, "Where are we?"
The human chuckled, "our home. We'll fix up Biogens little project here. Well actually we'll fix it up on that mountain." he pointed to a mountain that looked as dead the land below it, if not deader.
Carnage was tempted to shudder, "Why this place?"
The pokemon now chuckled, "Because it suited our fancy. This is a very suitable location for us. And best of all it has all that we need to get our vengence."
Carnage took another look at the mountain, how anyone could stand to build a house in this dead place was beyond him. But then again maybe it wasn't dead when they came. In all likely hood the decay may have started after they moved in. Carnage repressed another shudder, and voiclessly cursed, the more this went on the more of a bad idea it seemed to be.
The human looked up the mountain, and smiled, "This is where we came after that day. This is where we had vowed to make that scum pay for their transgression. And this is where you'll find the house that hate built." he laughed as did his pokemon. Carnage just eyed the two, this was getting to seem worse and worse.
