Sorrow Ch.9

The two pokemon forced into the group, the human, his pokemon, and Carnage were gathered in a circle. The human chuckled, "We are one step closer to getting what we want. Now all we need to do is cover a few details. Then we pay our 'friends' a visit."

Carnage repressed a scoff, "What's this little detail?"

The pokemon answered, "We don't exactly know if this thing works like it should. The data we managed to get wasn't very clear. So we have to test it."

Carnage cast a suspicious glance at them, "How?"

The human chuckled, "We're going out and doing some field testing. All three of you are to come along."

One of the two rose, "Why?"

"You two because you need to be prepared for what will happen. And you Carnage, you need to come along because I don't trust you."

Carnage shrugged, "The feelings mutual."

The pokemon chuckled, "We figured."

"Come on we got a glorious mission to get on with." The human and four pokemon left the building and headed for the test site he'd picked out.

*****************

Rika and Bane came back, both were tired from their exertion, but were smiling all the same. Inferno chuckled, "I take it you two had a fun scouting trip."

Bane blushed, Rika giggled, "Ohh a lot more than fun."

Blaze was lightly snoring, Tia also seemed to be asleep, Cara was staring at the four consious once with a look of utter disbelief, "Your all..."

Inferno chuckled, "Come on Cara surly you and Drake have..." Cara looked down, blushing, "Your joking! You mean with all the time you've been together you haven't..." Cara shook her head causing Inferno to break out in laughter. Rika was also laughing, rendered immobile on the ground, Bane was just laughing slightly less. Sky shot an ice beam at all three of them, causing them all to yelp and curse, "You know there's more to a relationship than sex. I swear you all have your mind in the gutter."

Cara looked at Sky, "Thanks." Sky smiled, then gave them another ice beam blast.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry Cara." Inferno screamed as Sky prepared another blast, "I just thought you'd have done it at least once."

Cara huffed, "Not everyone is so concerned with sex, like Sky said. Me and Drake just enjoyed traveling together."

"Well whatever, I think we need to get going. Even if you two never did it, I still think he's worried about you. Come on you two logs." He knocked two rocks onto Blaze's and Tia's heads. They got up with a start, then a quick curse. Inferno moved forward, everyone following. They went back at a ginger walk, talking all the way. "Inferno?"

"Yeah sis?"

"What's with your eyes anyway? They're different and so are your attacks."

Inferno chuckled, "Well it happened not long after we met, I owe Biogen for it." Inferno went on to tell of everything that had transpired since their last meeting. Cara gasped at a lot of it, but otherwise remained quiet until he finished. Then she smiled, "Sky did that serum affect anything else about him?"

Rika giggled, "Oh yeah. All of us girls of a taste of the new, improved Inferno." Tia blushed.

Inferno chuckled, "Oh and guess what Cara. I'm the least biggest sex fiend in this group."

Cara stared, mouth agape, "Your kidding."

Inferno shook his head, "Nope. I wanted to get to Azuchi, but everyone of these guys wanted to stop and have a..."

"Stop bringing that up!" Tia's face was a total red. The others were also red, Inferno couldn't help laughing, Cara joined him.

"I don't believe it. Your the least perverted one. That is really bad if you have that role."

The others grumbled, but agreed. They continued on talking about things, usually a more in depth tale of their past adventures before they met up again. Cara was surprised that Inferno had done something so romantic when he met Sky, and even more surprised by the fact that Bane was once one of the mightyena pack that attacked them. She was amazed by their victory over the ambush that Death had launched, and felt for Rika. She was stunned that Death had been resurrected. Cara had led a far less danger filled life. Most of the time she and Drake just traveled from one place to the next. The only thing she could say that was the least bit eventful was when they found a human and pokemon. She couldn't remember what they looked like, but they gave her a bad feeling. "They were talking about getting revenge on a little insect that had wronged them. They just gave me the worst case of creeps I've ever had. They also mentioned that they weren't sure if they could count on that group of fools to take care of the bug."

Inferno shook his head, "Those two don't sound to nice. Good thing you avoided them." Cara nodded.

Sky sighed, "Must have been a trainer, probably had a grudge against another trainer. That's pretty common. Most times it's just a harmless rivalry, but a few cases turn into a full blown hate."

Cara shrugged, "We didn't stick around to here who they were after."

Inferno nodded, "smart move." he looked up, the sun was setting, "looks like nights coming. We should probably stop and rest for the night, we'll be home by tomarrow." The others nodded. Tia and Blaze curled up with one another, and immediatly fell asleep. Rika and Bane curled up too, and quickly followed the others into dream land. Inferno and Sky were about to do the same when they noticed Cara moving around a lot. "She's must be used to having Drake next to her. Come on Inferno we can't just let her stuggle to get to sleep."

Inferno nodded. He came up and laid down next to his sister, "your so lucky to have a brother that cares."

She smiled, "Sure you care. And Sky didn't say anything?"

Sky smiled, "She's smart. Sure she's your sister?"

Inferno growled, "This is the last time I do something nice for you."

Cara nuzzled him, "Thanks Inferno." She set her head down and quickly fell asleep. Sky licked Inferno's head then fell asleep too. Inferno groaned, before joining them.

When they awoke dawn had just arrived, Inferno took in a deep breath, "God I love that clean morning air. Come on, I got a worried father and a dog bereft of his mate waiting on me." The others wearily got up and began to move.

"Looks like they'll be waiting for a long time." An all to familiar voice rang out. From the surronding bushes the manectric pack emerged. This time they had greater numbers, and they all looked pissed. The leader's face was set in a evil snarl, "I won't let you leave after that humiliation. I won't be humiliated."

Inferno sighed, "then why did you come..." he didn't finish, the leader was already on the attack, the pack quickly followed. Tia now had six enemies one her, Bane and Rika had five, Sky, Blaze, and Cara had four. Inferno was just being attacked by the leader, who seemed to have gotten stronger. Inferno chuckled, "Were you holding back before?"

The leader smiled, "I suppose. I ate some special berries, they added to my already great strength."

Inferno chuckled, "Let me guess, they were Canorin berries. You know that if you can't take me down quick enough those berries will sap all your strength. And if that happens you are doomed."

The leader kept the attack up, "I'll kill you before then!" The leader began to launch a barrage of attacks, thunderbolts, bites, tackles, bolt tackles, anything he could use. Inferno found the attacks hard to dodge.

Tia was easily absorbing the attacks that were being launched at her, and she was getting annoyed. She used an iron tail and lopped off the head of the nearest one, the others fell back and began to talk about a new plan of attack. Bane was having a little trouble dodging, they were coming at him with such speed, Rika was faring no better. Blaze, Cara, and Sky were having a much easier time. They had gathered and easily beating off one anothers attackers. Despite the beatings, the manectric kept up their assault.

Another manectric fell from a metal claw, while the others tried a wave of thunderbolts, with no effect on Tia. Bane had managed to snap the neck of one of his attackers, Rika had crushed the skull of one of hers. The manectric attacking Blaze, Sky, and Cara were losing their drive, and quickly being knocked back after every charge. The leader was also losing steam, the effects of the berries were starting to turn. Inferno knocked him back with a dark fire tail, then moved in to land a bite. The leader growled in frustration, "I won't lose!" He got up and tried a shock wave.

Inferno growled back at him, "You lost when you came back!" He launched a dark fire beam. The attacks collided, sending sparks of energy every where. As the energy crackled the manectric leader's legs buckled. He fell and his attack lost it's edge. Inferno's didn't it went straight toward the leader and hit, sending him flying through the brush and into a large rock. A crack echoed across the battle field as the leader sunk to the ground, a slight trickle of blood escapeing his muzzle, his body motionless. The others turned and lost any will to continue the fight. "Forget this! This is suicide!"

"It's madness!"

"It's not our fight, fall back!" The manectric quickly fled in every direction, paying little heed to any kind of order. As the last of them escaped through the brush Inferno sighed, "Alright that's that. Lets get going."

Sky smiled at Cara, "Alright your his sister. That was amazing fighting."

Cara blushed, "It wasn't anything like he could do."

Blaze huffed, "You did well."

Rika chuckled, "Drake better remember to be a good boy, otherwise he's in for a whole lotta pain."

Cara blushed harder, "It wasn't anything, really."

Inferno smiled, "Ha! Don't be so modest. Our family is filled with skilled fighters. Not one in our blood line isn't strong. I wouldn't acknowledge you as my sister if you weren't strong."

Cara blushed harder still, "Can we just go?"

Everyone broke out laughing, turning her face into the deepest shade of red possible. They continued on, all smiling as they joked.

******************

Carnage watched as the effects of the weapon that his companions developed made themselves know. Despite it all, his hatred and mistrust, his suspicions about the two "friends", he had to admit that their plan was already pure genius. He couldn't repress a smile, he knew the plan now, and it was going to be amazingly effective, he was sure. "See. That is what Biogen's little project does. That is why we need you two. And that is how we sow the seeds of agony and suffering."

Carnage was chuckling now, "Amazing. This plan of yours, it's truly a stroke of genius."

The human's pokemon chuckled, "Yes it is. Those fools won't know what hit them untill it's to late." Carnage nodded. It was sheer simplicity, and yet one of the most complex ideas ever thought up.

The human grinned, "Just remember, don't start tearing through them. We get our target first then you can start gutting them all like trout."

Carnage nodded, "Curious who is your target?"

The human got his most evil smiles. The thoughts of what he'd do to his target, of the suffering he'd bring on, they were so grand a smile couldn't help but cross his face.
