Hope Ch.3

The group, once again at a number of six with Burn, had no idea where they had to go to find his friend. All that Burn could tell them was that he last seen headed east from their current location. As far as the description of this friend went, all Burn would say was that he was a tropius. Bane wasn't sure how much use the info they had was, but it was better than nothing. Bane looked back, Sky was trailing behind the rest of them, as usual. Bane sighed, Rika looked at him, concerned, "What's wrong babe?"

"Sky. She's not her old self."

"How could she be?" Rika shook her head, "Inferno's gone....her world's gone."

Bane nodded, "And look what it's done to her. She's cold, distant, and just miserable." Rika, unhappily nodded, "I still can't believe out of all of us he was the one that went."

Blaze walked up to them, "But we all saw it. Like it or not, he's gone. We can't bring him back, and Sky's gonna be stuck like that." He sighed, "And to make it worse, we've got that moron with us."

Burn chuckled, "Oh little one, I understand your jealousy. But you need not fear my competition for your lovely mate's attention. She's yours and I will honor that, I only wish I could tune down my disirability."

Blaze groaned, Tia chuckled, "Blaze stop it. Burn's an okay guy. Granted he's a little unorthodox, but he's still okay."

Burn nodded, "unorthodox? That must mean, ruggedly handsome. I didn't know the meaning of the word changed." Blaze was tempted to claw out his brain. "Oh well. It looks to be getting dark, we should set up for a nice rest here." He pointed to a clearing, "Even we gods must rest. And may you two beautiful maidens please grant your mates peace of mind and not bask in my precense this evening." Bane rolled his eyes, Tia and Rika giggled.

Sky took off for the far side of the clearing, and layed down. Rika went over, "Sky?"

"Yeah?"

"You sure you want to be alone? I mean after last night..."

"I'll be fine." Sky then set her head down, Rika sighed and went back to Bane's side. She whispered something into his ear, he nodded. Bane then whispered something into Blaze's ear, Blaze gave a quick nod and looked to Tia, who smiled. Tia and Blaze went over to Sky, Blaze yawned, "Move over, we're sleeping her tonight."

Sky didn't look up, "Why?"

"You honestly expect me to sleep anywhere near that blowhard. Please. I might kill him in my sleep." Sky made a soft giggle, a good sign as far as any of them were concerned. Sky moved a bit, allowing Tia and Blaze to settle down next to her. The sun had gone down, and the moon was slowly rising, Bane and Rika were sleeping half way between Sky, Tia, and Blaze, and Burn. Burn had settled on his spot and curled up, using his tails as covers. They all fell asleep rather quickly, all except Sky. She stayed up a bit longer, looking up at the moon. She sighed, "Another night." she kept staring in silence for a while later, "One more night without you." her voice was barely loud enough to be a whisper. "I miss you." a tear fell from her eye, "I miss feeling you next to me." another tear fell, "I need you." She layed her head down, trembling.

Sky jolted up, her face covered in sweat. She was panting, "at least I didn't scream again." It was the same accursed dream. Inferno was standing over her, smiling, only to be cut down, but herself. Sky wondered if she'd ever get a decent night sleep anymore. She made a dry, and quiet, laugh, "Not likely." She layed her head back down, and waited for dawn.

When dawn came the group slowly rose, Sky the last one, in order to avoid questions. They streched out a little, then Burn took in a deep breath, "Ahh, a grand day to be alive. Then again, when your me, any day is a grand one." He trotted off ahead.

Blaze groaned, "He's a morning person. I hate morning people."

Tia eyed him, "Your just saying that."

"You can't tell me what I can and can't hate."

She lowered her head down to his, "if you want my physical company I can."

Blaze stuck out his tongue, "Don't insult me. I'm not a freaking needing little nut job like Bane or Rika."

Both turned to look at him, "Hey!"

Tia chuckled, "But you still like it." Blaze mumbled, but didn't repond in any other way. Sky, who was at the rear once again, didn't show any emotion. Burn slowed to allow them to catch up, "Come on you lot. I know I'm fast, but still." Blaze flipped him off. "Now good sir, I don't think there's any need for that." Blaze flipped him off with both hands. "I suppose you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

As they walked they came to a fork, Burn inspected it, "Ahh yes, now if I remember correctly, like I always do, the left will take us along the side of a cliff, while the right through the forest. The left is the quickest route, with just a slight bit of danger."

Rika eyed him, "How slight?"

"It's nothing to fear, you have me after all."

Bane sighed, "That bad huh?"

Burn looked agast, "Do you doubt me that much!?" Everyone nodded, causing Burn to gasp in utter shock, "Why I never! Such disrespect! But, since I am such a kind and generous man, I won't pay it any attention." Burn walked down the left path, the others shrugged and followed. The path was actually okay, although a little high. It was wide enough for three, providing one of them wasn't Tia, to walk side by side. As they walked a little conversation began, at first between Rika and Bane, then the others, excluding Sky, got in. "I tell ya, a female being on top doesn't do squat. She's got just as much a chance at pregnancy as if she was on the bottom. That's just a myth."

Rika gave Bane an exasperated look, "A myth? My god your dense. Everyone knows that gravity will help keep the guy's juice down. DUH!"

Tia nodded, "Yeah she's right. No doubt about it. It's really simple you know."

Blaze shrugged, "I'm still skepticle. I mean the guy's juice, as you so eloquintly put it, doesn't worry about gravity, at not when it's in the female."

Burn nodded, "yep that's true. In the grand scheme the only way to help cut the risk it to, uhh, well, blast outside of the little chica." Sky wondered how this conversation even started.

As they were walking a rumble sounded, then a lot of crashing. The group looked up to see a rockslide coming straight at them. The mass of earth was hurtleing down, mainly for Tia and Blaze. "Blaze!" Tia knocked him away, taking him out of the rocks' path, but she wasn't so fortuneate. The surge of earth hit her, full force, knocking her back, and off the cliff. "Tia!" Blaze cry echoed, she was tumbleing down, hitting multiples rocks, but at least being saved from one large fall to a splat of an end. Still the damage was taking its toll on her. When she finally hit the ground, she was unconsious. Meanwhile, back up top, Burn was struggling to hold on to Blaze, who was struggling to get down. "Damn it all Blaze!" Burn words were muffled, since he was using his mouth to prevent Blaze from jumping, "You won't do her any good by just jumping off. We'll go back and take the not so deadly path."

"But..."

Sky grabbed him, "Listen! She'll be fine. She's tough, and it'll take a lot more than this to kill her." Blaze calmed down, nodding. They raced back and down the cliff.

Tia wasn't sure how long she was out, but when she awoke it was on a pile of leaves, a pile far to thick to be natural. That's when she noticed all the clefairy, "Wh...where am I?"

A clefable stepped forward, "your in our little home. We found you, unconsious, and lying on the ground. We brought you here and laid you down, healing you with what ever we had." She gave Tia a reassuring smile, "My name's Twinkle, what's yours my not so little friend."

Tia smiled back, "It's Tia. Nice to meet you."

Twinkle's smile grew, "The pleasures all mine. Tia we are more than happy to have you here. It's always nice to have someone not of our kind here. Not to offend any of my friends, but seeing nothing but clefairy can get boring."

Tia shrugged, "I'm not used to see one specific kind all to often. And looking at the same person isn't so bad with the right connection."

Twinkle nodded, "I suppose so. Not that we ever see many males. I guess it's our curse, we're lucky to see a male every other month."

Tia chuckled, "well you'll see three when my friends find me, and one isn't even taken."

The clefairy all giggled, Twinkle joined them, "I do look forward to meeting them. But for now I think it would be best if you eat, I'll go get you some much needed food." Twinkle walked, signaling one of the clefairy to help her. As Tia greeted all of the other clefairy Twinkle pulled the clefairy closer, "Ready the preperations. Our lord Orochi we'll enjoy that tyranitar."

"Yes mistress."

"and be quick! Her friends could arrive before were ready." Twinkle looked back to Tia, "yes lord Orochi will enjoy your blood." Twinkle got an evil smile as she walked.
