Team Sea Forest Fire by poke_fan

War is Brewing

--------------------------------------

The operation was a success, the fire stone had been grinded into a super powerful medicine which the Chansey nurse had deemed the "Moltres Tears" which was a special potion only effective with fire type pokemon. Of course, the nurse had stated that the potion might accidentally cause certain fire types to evolve due to being made from a fire stone.

Now, I lay in a hospital bed, recovering from minor injuries from the volcano incident, Lopunny was resting beside me, her injuries were healing quite well, and Brimstone to the other side was now in a stable condition. The medicine had been so incredibly effective at restoring her strength, that she was going to make a complete recovery in a matter of days!

"Heh, we're pretty beat up, aren't we?" I asked rhetorically as I looked at our visitors, Aurora the Eevee who had just recently joined our team, and Aroma, who was now a powerful Bayleef.

"What the heck happened to you in there anyways?" asked Aurora in confusion as she saw my bandaged leg. I chuckled and began to explain what little I could remember, Aroma seemed to tense up when I mentioned the Charmeleon who I only knew by the name of Magma, but nothing more.

When I asked her about it, she hesitated but reluctantly began to explain exactly why a fire type saw fit to travel around with a grass type.

"It was a couple years ago..." she began, "At that time, Brimstone was living at Mt. Blaze and was a member of the Sun Fang Clan, one of the region's most respected noble fire type families." She explained.

"Hold on, noble family? You mean Brimstone is from high class society?!" I asked in astonishment as I looked over to the Cyndaquil who simply twitched in her sleep, lost in a peaceful dream.

"Well certainly not anymore." continued Aroma, "One of the clan's biggest weaknesses is their extreme level of pride. When she chose to leave Mt. Blaze to come travel with me, her family immediately severed all family ties with her. I heard rumors they did so to her father and half brother too, but I could never confirm it." She added.

"Believe it or not, I actually managed to save Brimstone's life once. Mt. Blaze is considered to be ruled by fire types, but it secretly holds small tribes of rock and ground types as well, I was traveling around the forest that borders it when I heard a cry for help." said Aroma, sitting on her hind legs and reminiscing of the memories.

"A golem had cornered her and was intending to hold her for ransom, as you know, Ground and Rock types are resistant to Fire types, and Brimstone was still too young, at the time to know any powerful techniques. Thankfully, Grass types are effective, and my Vine Whip managed to fend off the Golem long enough for us both to escape with our lives. Since then, we've been friends for life." she said. "We decided to become a dungeon team the very next week, and that's when all hell broke loose, we haven't had any contact with the Sun Fang Clan ever since." she finished.

We looked sad as she finished her story, no wonder Brimstone acted tough and mighty all the time, she was raised by a family of proud noblemen! And I could definitely see the resemblance between her and Magma, both could be a bit hot headed when they were angry.

Brimstone suddenly moaned as she began to stir, Aurora and Aroma rushed to her side as I propped myself up to look over to her. She seemed to be confused as to where she was and who we were. It wasn't surprising considering that the last time she was conscious, we didn't have Aurora with us, nor were Aroma and I evolved at the time.

After a bit of a lengthy explanation as to what had happened over the past few hours, Brimstone finally settled down if we promised to take her to the secret evolution crystal that Aurora's parents had been hiding. She was so excited about the possibility of evolving, and now she was furious that she got left behind on the whole thing. She seemed to become saddened when we mentioned her half brother Magma, and asked if she could be left to rest for a few more minutes. We understood and let her go back to sleep.

"So what do we do with the Lopunny?" asked Aurora as we turned to look at the girl who helped Brimstone escape. If it wasn't for her, Brimstone would either be dead by now, or would probably be forced to join the Poke Whores.

"We'll wait for her to recover, and if she wants, we'll ask her to join us. It's the least we could do to thank her after she risked her life." said Aroma. I agreed and then lay back down to continue resting my leg as Aroma and Aurora went back to our team's room, giving me time to recover.

Meanwhile....

Lust's meadow was buzzing with whispers and rumors about a new arrival coming to visit them. Lust, himself, seemed particularly agitated. His thick rat tail was slapping against his throne making loud smacking sounds.

The figure began trudging up through the pathway, Lust's subordinates spreading out of the way to allow it to pass through, fear registering on their faces. Finally the figure came into Lust's view and his look of agitation seemed to lessen only a little.

"Chaste..." he growled as he saw the figure approached. A Marowak slinked through the crowd, using it's bone staff like a walking stick.

This was Chaste, the only virgin member in the entire Team Poke Whores, and the right hand girl of Whip, making her a general in the team. According to the rumors, Chaste had sworn off sex because she had an absolute fear of pregnancy. It was a common known fact that Marowak females died during birthing their young which is why Cubone were known for wearing their mother's skulls, and she had no intention on dying from such an appalling method.

Being the second in command of Whip's forces, she was as close to a leader for the team as anybody, and Whip's forces were right beyond that of Lust's.

"Lord Lust." she simply said emotionlessly while giving a faint bow before flying into her reason for being here.

"Grave news has reached beyond your borders, and Lord Whip is not very pleased with it. He's not reported it to the other leaders because at the moment it seems trivial, but the news does concern him." she explained.

"Don't lecture me, general..." barked Lust, causing Chaste to look at him with only a tiny hint of confusion on her face which was mostly hidden by a skull mask. "I know full well the drawbacks to this. One of my members has been killed in battle, and we apparently have an evolution stone we have over looked. I don't need Whip sending his highest ranking official down here in an attempt to pull some scare tactics on me, especially since I outrank them!" he explained.

"So then the rumors are true..." said Chaste as she turned to walk away. "That's all I needed to know..." She said before slinking back into the crowds.

"Whip... you bastard, getting into my personal business like this...." growled Lust to himself as his tail finally slammed into his throne, shattering it completely out from under him, but the Raticate caught himself as if he knew it was going to shatter.

"All units prepare to mobilize!" he shouted, "I will give an immediate promotion to the first squad who finds that crystal, three promotions for anybody who manages to take down Team Sea Forest Fire!" He added, the pokemon quickly began to scramble into their battle squads and set off throughout the region, leaving Lust alone in the meadow.

"Who the hell do you think you are, going up against Poke Whores?" he said to nobody in particular, but intending the question for the team he was after.

"Ahem..." coughed a voice, causing Lust to turn around quickly and knock a figure to the ground so fast, it was almost impossible to see the attack, the Raticate pounced and held his claws ready to strike before he realized what he was about to attack. A Sableye!

"Hey there..." it said sheepishly, holding it's arms up in a pathetic excuse for trying to block the attack that almost eviscerated him!

"Who the hell are you?" asked Lust.

Back at Mt. Blaze....

"Magma, are you sure about this? Think of your clan!" said the Growlith as he and the Houndour watched their friend packing a travel satchel full of supplies.

"My clan has abandoned me, and my mate is dead... I have no more reason to remain at this place." replied the Charmeleon as he continued packing some oran berries into the satchel. "I have an oath to keep anyways..." he muttered while closing the pack and hefting it over his shoulder.

"In that case..." said the Houndour, "Let us come with you. Kyu was our friend too, we would be shamed to call ourselves Fire types if we didn't do our part for avenging her." he growled. Magma simply shrugged and began walking.

"If that's how you feel, then come on, I've got enough supplies to feed all three of us for a month's worth of travel." he said, "We're going to the dungeon team association!" he added as his canine companions began to follow him out towards the lava river.
