After some time, he finally reaches Littleroot Town. Since he knew it there, he didn’t have a problem to find professor Birch’s lab.

Professor Birch greeted him with unusual compliment: ‘You looked great in this new outfit.’

Max now wears typical cycling clothes, yellow jersey with black hips and sleeves, black shorts and gloves.

‘You know professor, I’m a cyclist now so I wears cycling clothes,’ Max answered.

Professor led Max to a room where he have starter Pokémon. Professor offer Max Charmander, Chikorita and Mudkip.

‘I have a problem with Torchic’s and Treecko’s behaviours this time, so I rather have here Charmander and Chikorita which are tamed,’ explained professor when he saw confused look in Max’s face.

Max actually was slightly disappointed, because he wants Treecko. But after some thinking he chooses Charmander.

‘You choose wisely. I know she will be good part in your Pokémon team,’ professor Birch comments.

‘She?!’ Max asks in awe.

‘Yes, your Charmander is female,’ professor smiled.

‘Cool. Female Charmander are rare,’ Max caresses his new Pokémon.

Charmander too seemed to be happy with her new trainer.

Professor gave Max Pokédex and some Pokéballs too. After then, Max was ready to start his journey.

He know exactly where he wants to going and why just there. He never forgets to a promise he gave to one Pokémon. And now, he is going keep that promise. That’s why he went to Littleroot harbour and boarded the ship due Sootopolis City. One sailor gets his bike to under deck space. Other sailor led Max to his cabin.

Once Max was alone, he let his Charmander out of her Pokéball.

‘Do you want to know where we are going?’ Max asked his Pokémon.

Charmander nodded.

‘Well, some time ago, I travelled through Hoenn with my sister and our friends. They were on their Pokémon journey and I… well… I just was with them. Once on this journey, I found a Ralts who were in bad condition. I and my friends tried to get him to the Pokémon Center. But bad guys named Team Rocket want to get Ralts. Fortunately, Ralts’ family’s members, Kirlia and Gardevoir appeared just in time to save us from Team Rocket. Then, I promised them to bring Ralts to the Pokémon Center and then return him back to his family. And I do. But the farewell was hard to both me and Ralts, because we became friends already. So, I made a promise for Ralts: once I became a trainer, I returned for him to be a part of my Pokémon roster. And now, I’m going make this promise.’

Max looked down to his Pokémon and tried to figured what she thinks.

‘You think I am an idiot to keep on this old promise?’ he asked with a fear in his heart.

Charmander shook her head briskly. She actually thinks it’s nice from her young trainer to keep an old promise, even though he couldn’t know if Ralts still waiting for him.

Suddenly, there were knock on the door.

‘Yes,’ Max answer.

One sailor comes to the cabin and tells: ‘I have here your cabinmate, young man.’

‘Young man?’ gravel voice asks.

Then, blond-haired boy stepped in the door. He have short cutting hairs, blue eyes and (according to Max) cute face. He wears green unzipped shirt, black t-shirt with picture of Charmander, blue jeans and sneakers.

‘There must be something wrong,’ the boy said.

‘Nothing’s wrong,’ sailor answered. ‘You boys will share this cabin together.’

‘BUT I AM A GIRL!’

Sailor laughed and closed the door.

‘But I really am a girl,” the girl said in sad tone in her voice.

‘Don’t worry, I will not bully you because you are girl,’ Max smiled on her. ‘I am Max, by the way. What’s your name?’

‘Don’t take this personally, but I am too shy to share cabin with boy,’ the girl said. ‘Maybe, I should tell to captain and he found a way to solve this.’

‘She,’ Max corrects her. ‘Captain of this ship is woman.’

‘Really?’ the girl asks surprised. ‘I don’t know there are woman captains in this company.’

‘Look, I can understand it’s some sort of inconvenience for you, but this cabin is actually pretty luxury. We even have our own bathroom here, so I don’t really see a problem with you share this cabin with me and my Charmander.’

‘Charmander?’ the girl squeaked. Obviously, she did not notice Charmander until that very moment. ‘You know, I love Charmander. I wish I have one too, but I have no luck. So, I put Charmander at least to my t-shirt.’

Max can’t help but smiled. He sure starts to like this girl, even though he still doesn’t know her name.

‘And do you have some Pokémon?’ Max asks her.

‘Yes, I have Chimchar and Chikorita.’

‘So, you are a Pokémon trainer?’

‘I want to be a Pokémon Coordinator. But I just start.’

‘Coordinator? Like my sister?’

‘Who’s your sister?’

‘May…’

‘The famous May from Petalburg City? She’s your sister? I can’t believe this!’

‘I did not really call her famous, but yes, she’s my sister.’

‘You are kidding? She really is famous! So, when I join you, I may meet her, right?’

‘Aww, come on, it would be nice to travel together,’ Danny pleaded.

‘With a girl, who didn’t even want to share cabin with me? I don’t think so.’

‘I don’t see why this is relevant, but if you want to share cabin with me so badly, I…’

‘I see you don’t know what Pokémon journey is about,’ Max interrupts her. ‘So, let me explain some nasty things you may meet. We may travel few days or even weeks without being able to reach civilization. That means no flushing toilets, no showers or bath tubes, sleep in wild…’

‘OK, OK, I know what you try to tell me. But I am not some sort of sugar sweet Barbie, you try to made me. I just don’t like to share a room with boys. I can easily explain this to you, but I’ll be honest with you, I don’t want. Please, don’t push me to do so. But I understand one thing: if we will travel together, we will share more things than just rooms. And you know what? I am pretty much okay with it, because that’s how it’s going between friends, isn’t it?’

‘So, what you will do now?’ Max asks.

‘There’s pool on the upper deck, so, what if we goes there?’ Danny answer.

‘Good idea. Just change to the swimsuit and let’s go.’

‘OK, I’ll change in the bathroom. I’ll knock on the door if you are ready.’

With that, Danny takes her swimsuit out of her backpack and headed to the bathroom. Once she closed the door behind her, Max stripped his jersey and kicked his shoes off. He doesn’t really mind to take all of his clothes off in front of his new Charmander, even though she’s female. Charmander, though, looked at her nude trainer curiously. She never seen nude human, not to say nude male human. Max didn’t notice her look and put all his clothes on his bed. He then, still nude, goes to his backpack to looks for his swimsuit. ‘Are you hungry, girl?’

Charmander were captured unprepared by Max’s question. Even though she wasn’t really hungry, she nodded, because she doesn’t know what else to do in this situation. Max once again hopped to his backpack and found a can with Pokémon Food and a bowl. He fills the bowl with food and offers it to Charmander. She eats some and obviously liked it.

‘Taste great?’ Max asked.

Charmander nodded eagerly.

‘I thought so. This is from my old friend Brock. You know, the one we travelled together with. He may be an idiot when it comes to girls, but he sure know how to made Pokémon Food. No wonder he founded Pokémon Food Company called Brock’s Pokémon Yummies. And this company soon became famous all over the world. Fortunately, I still have some good friendship with Brock, so when he found out I finally become Pokémon Trainer, he offer me many of his Pokémon Food gratis.’

At that moment, there were knock on the bathroom door.

‘Everything’s okay,’ Max said.

Danny opens the door and comes out of bathroom. She now wears yellow one-piece swimsuit in the same colour as her hairs. Max now noticed she has good tan. She looks cute according to Max.

‘’Course not,’ Danny looked at Max like he were crazy.

‘See? Why should people consider you are a girl? Just for the reason that you really are? Oh, come on. I know it may seem stupid for you to judge people just according how they look, but like it or not, this is how this world work.’

‘Guess you have a point here,’ Danny admits. ‘But still, I like my hairs and outfit, so, who cares if people sometimes will consider me as boy?’

‘So, will we going to the pool?’ Max stood up and reveals his Speedo to Danny.

‘Wait a minute. What about Charmander? I am sure it will not like it at the pool.’

‘Right. You better return back to your Pokéball, Charmander.’

Max handled Pokéball and aimed it to the Charmander. But Danny stopped him.

‘I have better idea. What if I let out my Pokémon, so they can play together while we will be at the pool?’

‘Yeah, that’s sounds great. What do you tell, Charmander?’

Charmander obviously like that idea too. So, Danny let her Chimchar and Chikorita out of their Pokéballs. Chimchar looks hungry, so Charmander offered him some of his Yummies. Chimchar obviously liked it. Chikorita, out of curiosity, tasted it too, but obviously, don’t like it.

‘No wonder you don’t like it,’ Max laughed. ‘This is made especially for Fire-type Pokémon.’

Max searched through his backpack and soon found a can of Brock’s Pokémon Yummies for Grass-type Pokémon and another bowl. He filled the bowl and gives it to Chikorita. It obviously likes this. Max then put out another bowl, goes to the bathroom, filled it with water and placed it next to bowls with Pokémon Food.

‘Okay, you guys, me and Danny goes to upper deck,’ Max said. ‘You three stayed here. So, don’t be gross to each other.’

All Pokémon nodded in understanding. With that, Max and Danny both take some towel, Max also take sun lotion and they both goes off of the cabin.

When they reached the pool, they were surprised by unexpected view.

‘Do you see the same thing as me?’ Danny asks blushed.

‘If you mean that half of the people around the pool are nude, then yes,’ Max answered with grin on his face.

‘What the heck is meaning of this?’ Danny cried out loud.

‘You don’t know that the pool at this ship is some sort of Nudist Resort, sis?’ explained nude boy with middle length black hairs and black eyes.

‘No Tracey, I don’t,’ Danny snarled at the boy. ‘If I do, I never come here. You know this Max?’

‘No, I am as surprised as you Danny. By the way, hi Tracey, it’s long time since we’ve seen last time.’

‘Max, younger brother of May, we both used to travel with Ash and Brock through Hoenn region.’

‘No more than one hour,’ Danny answered.

‘We were forced to share cabin and when she learned who’s my sister and that I have Charmander, she decided to join me,’ Max explains. ‘Practically like you join Ash and Misty, when you learned they know professor Oak.’

‘Not Ash, Misty,’ Max laughed too. ‘By the way, do you hear about Ash? I know he is missing for more than half year now. Brock tells me that he run away after he learned Team Rocket killed his father. But he knows nothing more.’

‘Neither me,’ Tracey answered sadly. ‘I only knew he was enraged and decided he force Team Rocket to pay for his father. But I thought he should expect something like this can happen when his father is secret agent.’

‘This is so sad, boys,’ Danny said suddenly. ‘But now, I am sorry for leave you alone, but I have no reason to stay here at this nudist pool.’

‘Well, we’ll be tomorrow in Sootopolis City, so if I found Ralts quickly, you still can catch that Contest. Or you may stay in Sootopolis City and we meet there when I found Ralts.’

‘No, I want to see you when you found Ralts. If we catch that Sootopolis Contest, fine, if not, there’s still many Contests in Hoenn for me, aren’t there?’

‘Guess so,’ Max agreed. ‘So, Tracey, you definitely gives up your work in professor Oak’s lab?’

‘Yes. I learned many things there and have luck to work with such awesome researcher professor Oak is, but now, Gary is able to took all my jobs, so I decided to return back to my good alt times as Pokémon Watcher. I must admit I missed it somehow.’

They sunbathing for about half hour when they decided to hop back to the water. They stayed there for another hour, when they heard Ship’s announcement:

‘Dear passengers, we inform you, that the supper will be served in dining room after half hour. Don’t forget that supper is gratis for all passengers.’

‘OK, we should prepare yourself for the supper,’ Tracey said and goes out of the pool.

Danny and Max followed him and dry themselves with their towels. Tracey then put his black shorts on and Max do the same with his Speedo. They agreed to met eachother in the dining room and goes to their cabins.
