Story Notes:
I've been heavily slacking, not to mention great material is annoying for me to come by. Oh whatever, everything just sounds like an excuse. But honestly, last time I posted was like... a year ago. Slack plox...
Chapter 1
The summer Sun gleamed from the partially cloudy skies, carrying over a sense of ambiance for the battle before me. My opponent had unveiled his Pokemon, the ever-oppressing, Tyranitar. It's hardened exterior and physical prowess were indefinite win conditions against Gardevoirs of all shapes and sizes. Could mine be the exception...? "Tyranitar, Rockslide!" It's trainer called out the next move with his booming voice. The beast whirled it's body around with a grunt and a roar, striking the ground in front of it with a massive tail blow, casting a volley of boulders large enough to engulf a wide array of Pokemon. An amount large enough to clinch most battles...
I raised my left arm. "Confusion!" The rocks halted after donning a blue aura, Gardevoirs left arm, also raised above her head. "Back at ya. Gardevoir! Put them in reverse! Be sure to aim low..." I clenched my right fist as I quickly brought down my left arm. She gestured her hand slightly, and mimicked my motion, sending forth the boulders cast by our opponent at a faster velocity than which we had received. "Jump left, Tyranitar!" It's trainer commanded. "Gotta be-" I swayed both my arms to the side, "-a little faster than that! Gardevoir, move with him!" A simple flick of the wrist and the rockets of rubble took a last minute curve, staying on track with their target. They struck with loud blasts to both shins of the mountainous one, enveloping the air with clouds of dust and explosions from the impacts. Tyranitar tumbled onto the ground causing a brief shaking. To our surprise it quickly lifted itself back up, falling however, onto one knee. "Tyranitar, I command you to stand tall!" The trainer was pushing, having no idea what his partner was enduring to merely be upright.
"Gardevoir, get in close!" I did a quick clap, and pointed at our target. Gardevoir leaped into the air then vanished with a spin and a blue flash, regaining our opponents attention. "Has to come from behind!" He saw a quick flash of blue, right out of the corner of his eye. It was a one in a million catch. "There! S-swing your tail!" The trainer was quick to react on this, waving his arm frantically; however, She was just as ready for this. Her sleek figure and a timely duck let her weave right under the attack, putting her back to back with the beast. "Thunderwave!" I held out an open hand. "Do something!" Our competition yelled out in dismay as his fighter had failed in it's sweep attempt. With sparky hands she slowly placed them on the back of her opponent, getting a hold of two of it's back spikes, releasing hundreds of tiny shocks into it's figure. There were slight twitches in it's arms and upper body, but they soon succumbed to the pulsations and their movements halted. The winner had been decided.
I pointed towards Tyranitar. It's body completely immobile, it was in no condition to continue the battle. "Now, Focus Blast!" She turned to face the the back of her target. With eyes turning pale, and the ground shaking, her hands began glowing a goldish orange. The trainer had ample opportunity to return his combatant, but didn't take it under the surprising circumstances. Gardevoir brought both arms back, and with a loud cry, thrusted them forward, loosing a blinding white beam which engulfed the giant from it's backside. The beam struck it numerous times, it's sound deafening, before an explosion propelled it away. It's body flailed through the air before crashing down onto the pavement, nearly burying itself under the rubble and dust clouds. The impact created a brief earthquake, making some onlooking travelers and trainers shudder. I adjusted my collar and looked to our opponent, nearly pulling his hair out. "I guess... that's it."
He scurried over to his Tyranitar, whispered something to it and then returned it. I couldn't help but to notice his glare of anger and malice towards me. "You didn't have to go that far you know." I raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, what? You could have returned him before I used that last attack, and you know it. But, instead, you let him take the blast. You didn't even try calling him back. And now you think you're one to judge how one treats a Pokemon after you left one of your own to fend for himself? To just take a hit without reason." He raised a finger with a frown. "But I-" "Shut up," I cut him off, "I don't want to hear it. I can't stand hypocrites like you. It's so bothering that my first Sinnoh battle had to be with you. Let's bail, Gardevoir." She placed her hand in mine as we turned and walked away from the piers. She growled at him as we turned, what a sight to see.
The scenery along the Route was pleasant, subtle and not the least bit overpowering. The trees, the clicking sounds of wild Pokemon, it was a great day to be on a journey. "Days like this make me wanna forget how much we still have yet to accomplish in this region. What about you Ga-" As I turned my head, my smile shifted to one of sheer horror. Her legs buckled and her body began falling backwards. I could feel my body moving on it's own, trying to step back and catch her as I had just begun to react.
"Gardevoir!" I caught her as she fell backwards, bringing her up into my arms. Her breathing had become somewhat labored, her skin was fairly hot, and she couldn't keep her eyes open. "Looks like someone caught a fever," I checked her forehead. "And it's fairly high." I looked up and around at our surroundings. Through the trees were the leftovers of the port. Since I now had a need to visit a Center, I took her into the area once more, hoping for hospitalization.Chapter End Notes:I honestly wish I could have whipped this out in a couple of hours, and have had it posted last year when I was more deadset on writing this.
