Fighting for Naught

"Oh my...that is a problem..." Mike raised his hand to his mouth. "Hang on a moment...I would bet that either your absol is quite well trained, or the flareon and the mutated espeon are really weak...coz two first attacks considering an absol's speed is quite...good..."

"Actually, Adelina should be weaker than either of them." Mike looked at me. "And Espira's not mutated." Both of them were staring at me now.

"You saying she evolved or something? Naw...espeon only reaches this level..." Mike dismissed. "Unless you're lost in the head."

"Well if you don't believe me...then let's get back to our business. You did rape Adelina." Calmly, I drew a spiritual katana, the one that I had used before. It crackled with energy. "Am I going to hear an apology from either of you?" Something was wrong. Both of them were smiling.

"Well...well. Looks like you have nothing special to offer to us." Ashen shrugged. "I'm calling Alyss over for some fun." He pulled out the pistol in its holder, and a loud bang resonated through the forest. "Now we wait." I was
annoyed by this guy.

"You're off the topic. Now let me ask one more time. Will you apologise?" Both of them shook their heads. "Well. You've asked for it." Enraged, I swung my sword in Mike's direction. Mike, yawning, caught the blade with his hand.

"Formalities...formalities...if you'd wanted to fight...just say so. I was planning to wait for Alyss to balance the numbers, but since you initiated this battle..." He shrugged and pulled out his own pistol and blade. "I don't believe you've shown us anything yet." He fired his own shot, which left a graze on my skin.

"If you won't show us any of your abilities, then...we'll make you." The two of them faded backwards, blurring out of my vision. They weren't ordinary, for one thing. I heard several loud bangs from a distance, and I closed my eyes.

"Remember what the lucario taught you..." I reminded myself. "Concentration." I could feel the bullets ripple through the air, the minute currents they generated disrupting the natural airflow. "Rely on your instincts." Raising my sword, I slashed and deflected one of the bullets with a loud clang. Then, I ducked and felt the bullets pass by harmlessly. Opening my eyes, I saw that the two of them reappeared in front of me. "You're not that good either."

"We beg to differ." Ashen growled.

"Not too bad." Mike smiled. "For a beginner." I looked worriedly at Espira, seeing Adelina sink her fange into her front leg. Mike faded in front of me, and hit me with his pistol before I had time to react. I yelled as my body bent from the impact. I looked at his hand, and saw the pistol glowing. "We're far from ordinary." As another bang rang through the air, I felt myself being propelled into the sky. A spiraling bolt of energy was pushing me upwards, and I felt extreme pain.

"You're...fast. I'll give you that." I looked up, and saw Ashen jumping up beside me. Wordlessly, he struck me down with his blade.

"This is our shooting star combination." He said as he struck me repeatedly with his own blade. I yelled in pain as I felt my clothing being torn to shreds, and I raised my sword to parry some of the blows. After several loud weapon clashes, Ashen smiled.

"This has gone on long enough." Ashen pointed his gun to my head, also glowing. "Sayonara." Then, I felt myself encased in aura, and the bullet deflected harmlessly away. "Oh. This will be more fun than I expected." I barely heard that. Floating in the sky, I heard faint cries from Alyss.

"Kiaace...I'll help you here!" He shouted from below. He must have heard the fight and that woke him up. Augmenting the aura, I shot down a beam of light to contain him within. "What are you doing?" He beat against the prison of light.

"This is my fight." I spoke in an unusual tone of voice. "And I'll win this alone." I felt my own consciousness tearing away from me as my back hurt all of a sudden. Wings burning with pure flame sprouted out of my back, and the katana disappeared. Then, I fell out of the aura sphere in pain.

"What?" I was confused. I was still up there and falling down at the same time. Falling down from the sky at a fast speed, I concentrated on saving myself, but found that I had no energy left. "Arrrgh! Help me!" For the first time in a while, I felt some fear. Mike caught me as I fell, grunting under my weight.

"You...should...eat less..." He groaned, letting my body fall onto the ground. I landed with a loud thump, feeling my leg go limp. It was broken. I yelled in pain.

"Damn..." Looking at the three pokémon, I remembered their fight. "Espira..." She wasn't doing very well. Adelina was much stronger than she was, and with her type advantage. Espira was hit with a shadow ball, and she crumpled on the floor. Adelina, in her rage, was charging up another attack in her horn.

"You deserved it!" She growled, biting into Espira's flank. Espira twitched in agony, writhing about on the floor. Painfully, I clawed at the earth, desperately trying to prevent Adelina from killing her.

"I...won't give up..." Espira spat, some red liquid falling onto the ground. She was in critical condition, and one more attack could kill her. Espira looked into my eyes. "It's been...nice knowing...you...Kiaace..." She spoke weakly before passing out on the floor. Fira stepped in to intervene.

"Why must there be fighting?" She screamed, so loudly that the twins fighting with my other self stopped what they were doing. "Why? Why can't everyone live without it? Now my friends are badly hurt! Over a petty dispute!" She loosed a flamethrower into the sky, and she shone brightly. Steam was rising from the ground as the flamethrower increased in intensity. I stared at her in astonishment. The three people in the sky landed on the ground. Adelina was about to sink her fangs into Espira's neck when a ring of fire appeared around her, making the absol jump back in astonishment.

"What the..." Adelina was snarling. "Ain't no fire is gonna stop me from killing that vixen!" She leapt over the ring, only to be licked on her underside by the flames. Yelping, she retreated. I saw flames smother me, and I cried out in the heat.

"Help!" Alyss watched in horror.

"I'll make it rain..." He hastiliy blew a tune on his flute, and dark clouds gathered over this part of the forest. A squall soon hit, seeping through the forest canopy. "Hang on. Water's not extinguishing the flames!" He looked at Fira and pleaded. "Whoever you are...make it stop!" The heat was becoming unbearable, but then it suddenly stopped. I sighed, feeling the warm glow bask over my body, healing my wounds.

"Perplexing." My other self said, without any emotion in his voice.

"He wasn't lying about the espeon evolution." Ashen observed as the glow died out. Fira was now much larger, and her tail had split into three tufts. The tips were lit, much like a charmander's tail. Ashen looked at me. "What would you call her?"
I stood up, brushed some of the caked mud off myself, and smiled. "It's only fair that we call her Firayne. Much like the eons, we must call them by the same name..." I started. Adelina snarled.

"Interesting..." The lucario watched from the comfort of his desk in the office. He had recently created another wall to replace the one that Kiaace had broken earlier. The air-conditioning soothed his fur. Then, he heard a knock on the door.

"Someone's here to see you!" And the door exploded into splinters. The visitor was a red furred lucario.

"You could have asked for entry, Ysitri." The lucario sighed. "Now I have to...it's something massive...isn't it?"

"The police are here. They're arresting us for damage to state property, plundering...theft..." He checked them off his paws. Several SWAT troopers arrived inside the room.

"Surrender and you won't get hurt!" They pointed their rifles in the two lucario's directions. The radio buzzed in with their orders.

"Fire at will." The lucario sighed.

"What have you gotten us into this time...Ysitri."

"I've gotten us into an interesting fight." He pulled out the spare SAW from the lucario's drawer. "No aura this time." He grinned.

"How did you know about that hidden weapon?" The lucario asked as Ysitri slung the ammo belt over his shoulders.

"Is there a need to know?"

"Point." The lucario grabbed his own, and ducked under the table.
