The bloom of the flowers announced the beginning of the spring. Time for the mature pokemon to find a partner and time for the young ones to play until they faint. Zeto, a small eight year old Zangoose, woke up that morning feeling full of energy "yipeee!!" he yelled as he saw through the entrance of his burrow the sun shining and the Butterfrees flying. He soon ran to his parents' room to give the great news to his father "Dad! Dad! It's spring! It's spring!! Can we go out to play?" he yelled in an euphoric tone to his father's ear. His father, still drowsy, replied "don't you think it's a little early, Zeto? Go ahead, I'll catch you later" a little disappointed, Zeto ran out of his home to the valley, exited to meet new friends. The beautiful day at the top of that hill made his white fur shine as much as the sky, the sun was refelected in his yellow eyes, the wind was blowing softly, the butterfrees, ilumise and other bug type pokemon were fertilizing the flowers. Zeto was ready to play with the other pokemon in the valley, he ran down the hill as fast as his feet allowed him when he heard some sobs "huh?" exclaimed Zeto, the sobs came from behind a big tree. Zeto got closer to the tree "hello?" He said but he didn't get an answer, the curious zangoose go closer to the tree again, he looked behind the tree and right there was a little Seviper crying "are you okay?" asked Zeto, the little snake looked at him with tears in his eyes "aren't *sniff* ... aren't you going to run too?" said the small snake "Why? Should I?" replied the Zangoose. The seviper dried his tears with his tail "every zingle pokemon that I've tried to talk with hazz run away. They think I'm a monzzter *sniff*" "well, I don't think that" said Zeto smiling; the Seviper was just staring at him "say, why don't you come and play with me? I promise I won't run away"
"Really?" the Seviper said with a huge smile
"Really" said Zeto. The Seviper soon got very happy "so, what's your name?"
"I'm Vince, what's your name?"
"I'm Zeto" the two pokemon ran (or crawl) down hill to the valley to place they both could play.

Vince and Zeto soon formed a good friendship and for two long years they continued meeting at the same tree in secret so they parents wouldn't notice they were friends of the enemy, life was good with them. Or that's what they were thinking.

One day, Vince and Zeto were playing like they always do when from behind the Zangoose appeared his father
"ZETO!!! WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING!!!"
"Dad!?" exclaimed the young Zangoose "I... I was just..."
"I can't believe that you are playing with a monster like that!!" those words hurted Vince
"What did you just said about my son?" a horrid voice said from behind Vince. It was Vince's father, a huge Seviper with a scar on his right eye and an evil look
"What you heard, monster"
"Nobody calls my son a monster and much less some Zangoose scum"
"Say that again you monstrous snake and I promise those words will be the last you spell in this life"

Both of the angry parents were about to fight when suddenly the two small friends step between them "please, dad" said Zeto "I don't want anyone get hurt" his father watch at the big Seviper with a mad look and then he said to his son
"We're leaving, Zeto. I can't live in a place where a monster can chase my family"
"We are leaving too, Vince" said Vince's father "I don't want my family in danger of being killed by those assassins" so then, the two angry fathers grabbed their sons and leave, Vince couldn't do anything but see how his only friend leave him forever "ZETOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

Eight years later.

*sight* "I barely can recognizze this place" said Vince the day he returned to the valley of his childhood. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing gentle "lotzz of thingzz have changed thezze yearzz... but... I wonder" Vince head to their tree. The tree where he and Zeto used to go to play. He remember how they play hide and seek in those shiny days, and how the used to hide there from the rain in those gloomy days. A tear slide from his eye "Zeto" he whispered.

After remember the old days, Vince went to the river for the valley to drink some water and there he saw a fish out of the water, he was about to grab it when a big Zangoose came out of nowhere and snatched the fish out of Vince's hands "hey! What the-" said Vince. The Zangoose started to eat the fish "oh sorry, monster, was it you meal? Hehe, well, too bad for you" Vince started to enrage "for your information I am vegetarian, I wazz going to help it to return to the river!" the Zangoose didn't say anything "umm... well... that makes you freakier then" said nervously the Zangoose "I mean, a vegetarian monster? Wahahahahahaha!!!!" Vincent decided not to listen to the Zangoose so he turned around and continued exploring the valley
"W-what are you doing?" asked the Zangoose
"What lookzz like I'm doing? I'm going azz far azz I can from you"
"But... but... aren't you gonna fight with me?" Vince didn't replied, he just continued his way. That made the Zangoose angry, who made a big jump and with his claws slashed Vince's back. The Seviper screamed in pain "well, now are you gonna fight, monster?" Vince start to shake "p-pleazze... don't hurt me" said in fear. The Zangoose jumped to Vince and prepared to attack him again but he had something on his look that made him stop. The Zangoose was just staring at Vince's face who was shaking for fear "oh my god..." said the Zangoose as separate from Vince. The Seviper was confused. The Zangoose looked at Vince and with tears on his eyes and said "I can't believe is you... Vince" that confused Vince even more "W-what are you talking about? Who are you?" said the scared Seviper "Vince is me... don't you recognize me?" Vince moved back "of courzze I don't... pleazze... ztay away from me" The Zangoose grabbed Vince and approached to him "no! pleazze don't hurt--" Vince suddenly shut and looked carefully at the Zangoose's face, both pokemon kept quiet for a couple o seconds, watching each other. Vince do recognized those yellow eyes, the only Zangoose he knew, the only friend he ever had. It only could be "Zeto? ... Zeto... izz that really you" the Zangoose smiled and with tears on his eyes he hugged Vince "oh Vince!"
"Zeto!" the both friends hugged (with the extremities that they had). Vince broke down and cried "Zeto... I... I have mizzzed you zo much. I have been thinking on you zzince we got zeparated"
"I know Vince I... oh god... I hurted you"
"I'tzz nothing" said the Seviper smiling "I'tzz juzzt a zcratch. Right now I only care the fact that you are with me again"
"Vince... I'm really sorry, my father... he taught me to hate your species but... now that I look at you... I... I just can't. I can let that a stupid species rivalry separates me from who I love"
"Love?" said Vince
"Umm... d-did I just say love? W-well, what I mean is--" And with a kiss, Vince shutted Zeto. After a couple of seconds Vince broke the kiss and with a loving look he said "I love you too" They kissed again at the light of the dawn.Chapter End Notes:And here ends!
