The story of a Boy and his Mate by majinonifox1

Story Notes:

I do not own Pokemon, or it's contexts. All the main characters in my story are fictional, and are not modeled off of any characters, whether they be real or fiction.

The Boy Gets a Few Surprises

"William, Razor Leaf!"

William flung a flurry of leaves at the enemy Starmie, making them almost deadly. When they hit, it was like multiple sword slashes against steel, at least the sound of it.

When the attack was over, the Starmie fell backwards and hit the water, the jewel on it's front blinking, before finally stopping.

"Starmie is unable to battle. Bulbasaur is the winner! The victory goes to Dustin of Pallet Town!"

"Yeah! Alright, William!"

William jumped over to Dustin and landed in his arms. 'Thank you.'

'For what?'

'For helping me through the battle. I didn't think I was gonna handle that Starmie, but I fonged it pretty good. And it was with your help, mate.'

'Well, glad to help.'

The Leader, Misty, walked over to Dustin and held out a little badge. "Dustin, your love for your Pokemon, plus your unnatural way to find just what they need gave you the edge to beat me in this battle. I hope you and your children live happy and healthy lives, especially with this: the Cascade Badge."

Dustin took the badge and threw it in the air, declaring "Yeah! I got the Cascade Badge!"

At this, however, Misty just laughed.

Dustin looked over at her asking "Why are you laughing?"

She stopped for a moment. "Because I knew a trainer like you that did the exact same thing that you just did. Incidentally," She looked over at Dustin's side of the arena, where Luna and Peachy were standing. "he had a Pikachu as well."

"Really? Well, where is he now?"

"Well, he's supposed to be traversing the Sinnoh Region right now."

"Huh. Maybe I'll see him on my travels then."

Misty just shrugged. "Maybe."

With that, Dustin walked out of the gym, his head held high. "So now that makes two."

'Sssssssso, where'ssss our nexxt desssstination?' Silas asked.

"We're off to Vermilion City."

"Well we were just there. Why not have a break here and relax?" Sylvia asked.

"Because I have a surprise for you there." Dustin replied. He then sent his mind-speak to all of his other family saying 'Don't tell her, but I've arranged for someone to wed me and her. Remember: Don't tell her.'

'Ooh! You and mommy will be together forever?' Luna asked.

'Yep. Don't tell her, though, okay?'

'Promise.'

After getting a promise out of everyone else, Dustin continued walking.

They exited the Cerulean border, and no sooner that they had done so, there was a great humongous growl. Then, an exalted scream.

"Someone's in trouble up ahead!"

Dustin dashed as fast as he could, heading to the source of the scream. There, a sight was unfolded that almost caused him to retch. There were 4 Arcanine's attacking a helpless looking little girl.

Dustin was appalled by this brutality. He then rushed as fast as he could, and with his newfound strength, knocked one of the Arcanine's into a nearby tree. It hit the ground with a thunk. A whole lot of bones were sticking out of it's side. It seemed to be on the brink of death. But it didn't matter. Dustin checked it's aura, and all it had was a blood lust. No remorse, no compassion, all it was was a killing machine.

The other Arcanine's saw what Dustin had done, and fired off a few rounds of Fire Blasts, each simultaneously.

Dustin used Extreme Speed and avoided them all. After the Arcanine's were done, Dustin dashed in, and knocked each of the other Arcanine's out. They didn't have blood lust, just following a leader that told them what to do, or they were killed.

After the Arcanine's were taken care of, Dustin went to the girl. "Are you alright?"

The girl looked up at Dustin and she smiled. "I have been waiting for you, Dustin Lomax."

Dustin took a double-take from her comment, and that was when Sylvia and the others had arrived. "Dustin, who's your new friend?"

"I don't know." Dustin replied.

"You know me. Yet, you do not know me." She then looked at Sylvia who was still holding the egg. "I see you still keep the egg."

Then, everything was still once again. Peachy and all the others had gone completely still. Only Sylvia and Dustin were left still walking around.

"Wait. Are you that thing that came to us earlier?" Dustin asked.

The girl warped her body, and there stood the purple clad figure again. "Yes. It is me. And so you actually know what to call me, my name is Lorana."

"Okay, Lorana, why did you come to us?" Dustin asked.

"Yeah, and no shortened sentences, either. I want to know what our next child is all about."

Lorana sighed. "As I said before, the fate of Earth will be decided by that child. He will either make, or break, this world you live in."

"Wait, so it's a boy?" Sylvia asked.

"Oh, did I reveal that much? Gods above, I will never hear the end of this from Arceus. Well, now you know. Yes, it's gonna be a boy."

Sylvia smiled for the first time since seeing this thing. "Well, why and how will he affect this world?"

"I am not at liberty to say. It was already too much for me to say that he was a boy. I might get severely punished for revealing that information. However, I can let you know that his involvement will not affect you for quite some time. The world is safe for a while. After he is born, which will be soon, things will be momentous. I hope your union goes well." And with that, she disappeared again.

Sylvia just stood there, gaping. Then, she regained her composure. "Wait. Is there something you're not telling me, Dustin?"

Dustin turned around, seeing the accusing stare in Sylvia's eyes. "Whatever do you mean?" Dustin asked, trying to sound innocent.

"Don't play that game with me. I can see your aura. You're hiding something from me. Now what is it?"

"I can't tell."

"And why not?"

'Becaussse it'sss a sssecret we all ssshhhhare.'

Sylvia turned around, seeing Silas, Peachy, Luna, William and Rhydon all looking at her with eyes that said "Don't even think about it."

"Very well, then." And with that, she used Extreme Speed and got the hell away from there.

"Mommy!" Luna called out. She was devastated by her mother's disappearance. She tried to run after her, but Dustin caught her.

"Let her go, sweetheart. We'll see her again. She'll be back. I promise."

Luna sniffled once. "You promise?"

"Hey. I'll tell you what. For every day that your mother's gone, Peachy will zap me as hard as he can, and I'll allow it to happen. Will that make it fair?"

Peachy gave him a quizzical look. 'Why are you doing this?'

"Because I need reassurance that she's coming back. And you shocking me will help remind me that I need to be ready for her if she does show. Because we were supposed to get her to be there when we got to Vermilion so the priest could wed us together."

"I KNEW IT!"

They all turned around to see Sylvia just standing there.

"Honey! Uh, how much did you hear?"

"I heard enough. So, planning another surprise for me, huh?" She started walking towards Dustin.

"Uhh, well..."

"And you had everyone keep it a secret from me."

"Well..."

"And you are the sexiest beast on this side of the earth!"

"Well... Wait. What?"

Sylvia smiled. "I knew that'd get your attention. Now, how is this gonna be done?"

It took Dustin a while to realize what she meant. Then, realizing she meant the wedding, said "Well, some things are still a surprise, So, if you want to know, you'll have to just wait."

"Aww. Alright."

They continued walking, and Sylvia, all the while, was trying to weasel the information she wanted out of anyone she could get it from.

She asked Silas. 'I am sssorry, but I made a sssolemn vow and I'll never ssssee it broken.'

She asked Peachy. 'Heck no, I'm not gonna tell! I'm not that stingy. He wants it to be a surprise, so I'm not telling. There.'

She asked Rhydon. 'Sylvia, there are only a handful of secrets that I'll keep in this world, and Dustin's secret is one I'm keeping for good.'

She asked William. 'Bugger off me about it. I'm not about to fonging let a secret out that'll get me into trouble with Dustin. He's my best mate! I'd never do that to him.'

She then asked Luna. 'Well, it's a surprise, mommy. If I told you, then it's not such a surprise.'

'Well, what if I promised you a special treat when we got to Vermilion City. Maybe your favorite berry..'

'Razz Berries? Okay, here's the scoop. As soon as we enter Vermilion City, some guy is supposed to meet us there. That guy is gonna marry you two right there in front of everybody, and he called ahead of time, had them decorate the middle of town for you two. Grandpa and Grandma will be there, all of our friends!'

'Really! Thank you, honey.'

'Your welcome, mommy. Now, how bout those Razz Berries?'

'When we get a break.'

The continued walking, and soon reached the entrance to the Vermilion border. As soon as it was crossed, there was popping from underneath them. It felt as if they were being shot at. Dustin danced, as did the rest of his family.

"A-hah!" A man flipped from out of nowhere. He looked to be in his late fifties, but still sporting bright yellow spike hair, and a demeanor that said "I'm hip, deal with it."

Dustin stared at this man for a little while longer, until he noticed that he was wearing an army uniform and a Dog Tag. He looked on the man's shoulder, and saw 3 stars. Major.

Dustin saluted. "Sir!"

The man just smiled. "At ease, cadet."

Dustin put his hands behind his back and spread his legs a bit, he had seen boot camp videos, and knew the immediate drill.

"I will tell you now. I used to be called Lieutenant, but I am now Major. Major Surge."

"Major Surge, Sir! Dustin Lomax, soon to wed this beautiful Lucario next to me, sir!"

"Hmm. Interesting. And who, pray tell is to wed you?"

"Sir! I do not know, yet. My father was to be here to help with all that, sir!"

"Cadet, I am ordering you to act normally around me."

Dustin relaxed his shoulders. He hadn't even noticed he had tensed them up. As soon as he relaxed his shoulders, Major Surge laughed. "Well, now I can tell you. I'm gonna be your wedder."

"Wha!" Dustin and Sylvia both shouted at the same time.

"I know. I couldn't believe my luck either. Getting to perform a civic duty that hadn't been granted to me since I barbecued the last groom that I wedded before this. Incidentally, he secretly had a bomb that would have destroyed half of this city."

Dustin looked at this lunatic and immediately thought to Sylvia 'Surprise?'

Sylvia just started bursting out laughing. "This guy is gonna wed us? Hahahahahahahaha! Oh my god! He's like, what? Late 50's, and he's still sporting the spiked up look? And he's gonna be a serious priest that's gonna marry us?"

At this, Dustin smiled. "Nope."

Sylvia looked at him and then said "Wha?"

Dustin smiled even brighter. "Well, do you really have to put your stock in anything Luna says anymore?"

Sylvia did a double take, and looked over at Luna. "Luna? Honey, how could you?"

"I'm sorry. Daddy offered me something even better than Razz Berries. He offered me the first bite of cake you guys are gonna have. MMM!"

Dustin then started laughing. "I think this is the moment when I say you just got the wool pulled over your eyes."

"I'm gonna pull a lot more over your eyes than just wool, mister!" She ran to him and grabbed his neck, holding it there, feeling as if she wanted to snap it.

Dustin disappeared and was behind Sylvia. He then grabbed her around the abdomen and lifted her high. "Now, why do you have to do that?"

Sylvia began to struggle. "Let me go, you evil liar!"

"Okay, but first, I want you to turn your head to the left."

"Why?" But as she did, the reason why was clear: she was staring at the Vermilion Gym. Only, it wasn't as it was supposed to be. There was a bell fixed atop it, any windows were replaced with stained glass windows, and there were a whole lot of people outside of it.

Sylvia gasped. "It's beautiful!"

Then, they hadn't even noticed that Major Surge had left them, Major Surge had reappeared in a white robe, his hair slicked back, and he had a solemn face. "Well, shall we proceed?"

"Wait. I thought that this was just gonna be a hoax. Are you really gonna wed us?"

"Well, he has to. I couldn't get Reverend Nico to come."

Dustin turned to the right and saw his dad walking up to him. He put Sylvia down, who was still gaping wide eyed at the church, and said "So, does that mean we're gonna get barbecued?"

At this, Major Surge laughed himself. "No, child. I only was joking about that before. I have performed this service many times successfully."

"Any times unsuccessfully?" Sylvia asked.

"Once. The groom walked out right at the altar when I asked if he would take his bride."

"Ooh. Probably not a very good time for the bride."

"No, it wasn't."

Dustin turned again, just to see his mother. "Mom? That bride was you?"

"Yes. And it was your father who had run out on me."

"Whoa! Dad? Why?"

"In order, Yes, and it was just too much for me at the time. Don't worry." He added, seeing the face of his son. "We got back together and made it work again 1 year later. 2 years after that, you came along."

Dustin smiled. At least they didn't fight about that kind of thing. He secretly hoped that Sylvia didn't run out on him.

"Well, now that you are all here, you'd better get to your rooms to get ready for the ceremony." Major Surge said.

Brandon took Dustin to his room, and Megan did so with Sylvia and the girls. That included Rhydon, as he begged to go with them. The boys went with Dustin.

(They're split again, so I'll go POV with them both again.)

I walked into my room, seeing a freshly laundered tux hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I grabbed it and began to change.

"So, have you thought about who Best Man is gonna be?"

I hadn't really thought about it much. "Well, I don't know many people who could qualify for the job. but if I had to pick, I'd say you, William."

'Me!? Whatever for, mate?'

"Well, you seem the more logical choice. I don't really think my ring bearer and Best Man can be the same person."

'Well, who's the Ring Bearer?' Peachy asked.

I only looked at Peachy, and he knew.

'Me!?'

"Yep. It has to be you."

At this, William smiled. Then, he started to glow.

He was lifted into the air, feeling his own body rippling about, his limbs getting longer, the bulb starting to bloom.

When he landed, he was an Ivysaur. "Hey, Dustin! Come on out here and take a look at this, mate!"

Even William was surprised by the words that came out of his own mouth, and not his mind. "Did you just speak, William?" I asked.

"Well, I guess I did! Huh! Imagine that!"

"Well, now we've gotta figure out how this is all gonna go down. Since now you're an Ivysaur, and you can talk, people are gonna stare." Brandon said.

"Wait. What about an Ivysaur?" I asked.

"Well, mate, did you ever wonder why I started talking?" William asked.

"Wait. You evolved?" I hurried out of the bathroom as fast as I could. I still only had the white shirt on and the pants. I was just throwing on the coat when I came out. "Wow. You look a lot weirder than when you were a Bulbasaur."

"Yeah, yeah. Bugger off."

"Okay." I walked off towards the bathroom again to finish getting ready.

"Why in the world is this little strand of hair just sticking out of place?!" I asked.

"Here. A little trick I learned from my earlier days." Megan grabbed the spray bottle and sprayed once in my hair, then to my dismay, spit in it.

"Eww! What the hell!" I exclaimed.

"It's just what I need to do. Hang on." She took out a comb from her pocket that she kept on her at all times. She then combed over the spot once, and the strand of hair fell into place. "There!"

I looked at myself in the mirror, noticing that the hair didn't move. "Okay, that was gross, but it worked."

"I think you look great, mommy." Luna said.

'I agree wholeheartedly.' Rhydon said. 'Now we need to do something about that dress.'

"What's wrong with the dress?" I asked.

Rhydon pointed at it, and I noticed the problem. It was a hammie down from Dustin's mother, and it was at least 4 times my own size. "Jeez! How big were you when you married?!"

"Well, uhh, let's not get into that. I can fix the dress here and now."

And she set to work on getting it to fit me. I wore it, and it felt like wearing a suit of armor that was 10 times as big as I was. She got the thread and needle and said "This might hurt."

(they're joining again, so back to third.)

Dustin awaited at the altar, waiting for Sylvia to start walking. He looked over at Peachy, holding the pillow with the two golden wedding bands that his father had chosen for him and her. William was standing right next to him, holding the position of Best Man.

Then, a cute sight was beheld. Luna was prancing across the row throwing flowers to everyone.

Dustin took a moment to examine the place they were at.

It was all white. The chairs, the Gym walls, the altar, everything. The only thing not white, was the carpet that Luna now walked down, which was red. On the other side stood Rhydon. He was standing where the Maid of Honor usually stood, which elicited many weird looks from onlookers.

The place was divided in half. Most of Dustin's friends were on the left side, and most of everyone else was on the right.

Then, the music started playing. And Dustin was treated to a wonderful sight. Sylvia was walking down the aisle, behind her was his mother.

She looked incredibly gorgeous. The dress that was suposed to be his mother's fit just snugly, and showed off her more beautiful curves. The white veil that covered her face gave her an angelic appearance. "Beautiful." Dustin said.

Sylvia was wincing a bit in pain. 'Those needles were sharp, Megan.'

'Don't call me that after today. I'll be mom.'

'Sorry, mom.'

Megan just smiled and said 'Well, I had to work fast. We only had like, what? Five minutes? Not a whole lot of time to fix a dress.'

Sylvia just sighed and shook her head and decided to ignore the pain. It was only slight, so it wasn't too much of a bother. She just continued down the aisle.

Unknown to them, a stranger on the right side was looking at Sylvia with eyes that were unseen by others from underneath his cloak.

As Sylvia reached the altar, Major Surge asked "Who gives this bride to this groom?"

Brandon stood up. "She has no father to speak of, so I, Brandon Lomax, give her to the Groom."

"But then again, she is not yours to give."

The whole crowd of people stared at where the voice came from, and the weird cloaked stranger removed his cloak, only to reveal a Lucario with no chest spike. And this one was a male.
