The story of a Boy and his Mate by majinonifox1

Story Notes:

I do not own Pokemon, or it's contexts. All the main characters in my story are fictional, and are not modeled off of any characters, whether they be real or fiction.

The Boy Becomes a Father

Dustin entered Viridian Forest with a little hesitation. He didn't really like the dark, and the trees caused the darkness that would threaten to engulf him.

Sylvia sensed his fear, and said "Don't worry. I'll be right next to you if anything goes wrong."

Dustin was relieved to hear her say that. "Thank you."

Dustin took a deep breath, and walked into the forest. He instantly noticed alot of Pokemon. He decided it wa a good place for his Pikachu to get some practice.

'Peachy. Do you want some practice with these Pokemon?'

'Sure! I'd like that!'

The first Pokemon they came across was a Caterpie. A basic bug-type, but he was glad for the easiness for Peachy's first time.

'Peachy, get rteady for a battle!'

'Let's do it!' "Pikaaaa!" Peachy charged at the Caterpie with all his strength and knocked it backwards. The Caterpie recovered quickly, however, and was soon spitting some string from it's mouth.

'Peachy, get away from that string! It'll slow you down!'

Peachy just managed to get away from it. 'Thanks!'

'No problem! Now, let's try a Thundershock attack!'

'Alright!' "Pikaaaa CHUUUUU!" An electric discharge went for Caterpie and hit it's mark. The Caterpie fell down on the ground and lay there. Dustin figured it wasn't very good to capture the Caterpie. It looked frightened. He quickly rushed over to help it. He pulled out a Super Potion and began to treat Caterpie's wounds.

When the wounds were treated, he felt a surge of gratitude coming from the Caterpie. 'Your welcome.' Dustin said telepathically.

Dustin, Peachy, and Sylvia startyed walking again, and noticed another Pokemon, but this time, it was surrounded by other Pokemon. It was a Bulbasaur being attacked by Weedle and Beedrill.

Seeing the horrible site, Dustin put down his bag, making sure not to crack the egg, his egg, inside. He ran up to the first Beedrill and shot an Aura Ball at it. It hit it with explosive force, which scared all the other Beedrill away. The Weedle, however, were not so easily frightened. They fired themselves at Dustin with their stingers dripping poison. Dustin prepared to defend himself, when a bright light enveloped the enclosure. The Weedle, taken aback from the light, stopped their attack and watched it.

The light came from his backpack. 'Dustin! Our egg is hatching!' Sylvia managed to say in telepathy. She was speechless. (Wow, look at me go with that one.) Dustin hurried over to his backpack and unzipped it. He pulled the glowing mass from his backpack so his child wouldn't be born in an enclosed space.

When the light began to die down, Dustin could make out the outlines of a smaller Pokemon. As the light continued to dim, he noticed that he was carrying another Pokemon. Dustin didn't care if it was another Pokemon. It was his Pokemon. No. Not his Pokemon, his child. He sat on the ground, admiring his newborn child. He took out his PokeDex to see what it was that he and his partner had created.

"Riolu. The blue puppy Pokemon. Riolu is the pre-evolved form of Lucario. Being only newborns, they haven't developed their Aura abilities fully, and will develop them over time. They usually stay close totheir parents, as they are afraid of anything else." (I don't care if that's not right. It's my story, and I'll do what I want to.)

"Riolu, huh? I've always believed that a good friendship needs a name, but that'll have to wait for later." He noted, seeing his Riolu was asleep. He decided he wouldn't walk, seeing as how the Riolu would be jostled awake.

'Sylvia, can you carry Peachy? I've got our-' He just realized, he didn't even know if it was a boy or a girl.

'It's a girl. We have a daughter.' She picked up Peachy and began to walk.

'A daughter.' Dustin noticed a cresent pattern in the fur of his newborn daughter. 'Luna. I'll call you Luna.' He directed his thoughts to his daughter. She awoke and immediately began screaming.

"WAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Dustin didn't know what to do. TYhen he remembered that Riolu feared what they didn't know. That's why they didn't stay away from their parents. But that's crazy! I'm her father. But you don't look like her father. She's looking for a Lucario parent.

All the while Luna's screaming, Dustin floated over to Sylvia. "Trade you?" Sylvia took Luna and Dustin picked up Peachy. Immediately, the little bundle immedately stopped crying.

They went through the forest for a while, and things didn't get eventful very fast. Then, all of a sudden, a buzzing sound, only Peachy could hear it at first, reached their ears. A Beedrill came and stung Sylvia, causing her to drop. When she dropped, she dropped Luna. Luna sat there, looking at the Beedrill with fright. She was paralyzed with fear. The Beedrill came at Luna with his stinger aimed. As he got nearer, Dustin could tell what he had to do.

There was a sound of needle piercing flesh. Luna looked up to see Dustin blocking her from harm. 'I don't care if you don't trust me enough to be a father. I'm going to protect you, my daughter, if it costs me my life!' The Beedrill withdrew it's stinger from Dustin's flesh, and he could feel blood spurting from the point of contact. Dustin dropped faster than Sylvia did. As he dropped, Luna was wide open for another attack. Dustin dragged himself in front of Luna to protect her again.

"Beedrill, you may kill me, if you wish, but leave these two alone! Do not harm my family!"

Luna heard this, and immediately stood up and stood in front of Dustin.

"What? Luna, get back!"

'You protected me and mommy. Mommy can't protect us, so it's up to me to protect you now, daddy.'

Dustin heard her telepathic words, and his heart skipped a beat. She didn't fear him anymore.

Luna took a battle pose. She drew on her Aura energy, and released an Aura Ball that hit Beedrill for some damage, but the Beedrill wasn't out if it yet. It came for another attack, and this time, Luna prepared for it. She focused for a while, and just as the Beedrill came down for it's attack, Luna struck it several times. It was her Force Palm. Each attack was stronger than the next, as she was gaining confidence.

The Beedrill was feeling the pain by the second. After a few more seconds of it, it would bee (Yes, I used that pun. So sue me.) done for. The Beedrill, seeing this, fled beefore it could sustain serious damage. (I now think it is hilarious. If you don't, bite me. Or, better yet, Poison Fang. Either one works. Depends on your preference.)

After the Beedrill fled, Dustin reached in his pack and pulled out 2 antidotes. He injected himself first, and then Sylvia. As Sylvia regained consciousness, she saw Luna walking up to Dustin, with outstretched arms.

'Well, it seems she's not afraid of you anymore.'

'Congratulations, Dustin!' Peachy said.

'Yeah. Kudosss all around the field.' Dustin's Arbok said.

"Thanks, Arbok. Hey, do you mind me asking? Where were you, when we entered the forest, and also when I was battling that Raticate? I hadn't seen you since you came to me!"

'Well, uhh...'

Dustin didn't need him to tell him. He knew. He could see it in his body temperature, especially in his lower extremities. 'Never mind. I don't need to know. By the way, would you consider a name change?'

'If you want it!'

'No, I told everyone else this already. I will only do what you want to do. If you don't want it, tell me. How bout Fang?'

'My brother'ssss name is Fang.'

'Okay, ruling that out. How bout Clef?'

'What'ssssss a clef?'

'It's a music reference. You know, a Bass Clef, a Treble Clef?'

The others just stood there with a silent expression. _I've really got to stop with the music references. Darn Violin practice!_

'Okay, how bout Lash?'

'Makesssss me sssseem evil.'

Dustin thought about it for a while. Then he had an idea. 'What about you choose the name?'

'Me? I've never consssidered naming myssself! Well, how bout Ssssilasssss?'

'Silas? You like that name?'

'Only if you like it, masssster!'

'I told you, I'm not your master. I'm your friend.'

'Ssssorry. I like it.'

'Me too. Silas it is.'

They continued walking towards the exit of the Viridian Forest.

Then, Luna decided to get smart. 'Daddy, what's sex?'

Dustin directed his thoughts only to Sylvia at that point. 'I wasn't thinking it!'

'Me neither!'

He changed targets. 'Silas, were you thinking about sex?'

'No! I got that out of my ssssyssstem back there.'

'Then who-' Then Dustin finally got it. 'Peachy?'

Peachy looked up with a guilty look on his face. 'I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking!'

'Well, now I've got a little child wondering what Sex is! Can you please tone it down?'

'Wow!' Sylvia remarked. 'Who knew you could get all bent out of shape over the birds and the bees?'

'No more bees, please mommy?' Luna said.

At that, everyone laughed.

Dustin looked ahead. 'It looks like were almost out! I can see the end!'

Dustin picked up Luna and said 'Race you all there!' He directed his thoughts only to Luna. 'We have an unfair advantage! Your cuteness!' He touched her nose, which brought a giggle out of her. His heart fluttered at her giggle, as did everyone else. Dustin took this time to gt a head start.

'Hey! No fair! We weren't ready!' Sylvia exclaimed.

'Yeah! That'ssss not fair!' Silas exclaimed.

'Too bad! Should have paid attention!' But he wasn't noticing Peachy going 50 miles faster than Dustin could ever go. Dustin thought he was gonna win, but he didn't. When he reached the end, Peachy was waiting there with a makeshift beard made out of leaves.

'Very funny, Peachy.'

'I thought it was funny, daddy.'

Dustin laughed. He exited the forest, with all his Pokemon in tow. He wold come out on top, and be the best Pokemon trainer there ever was. And also the best father there ever was.

Back in Pallet Town...

Brandon was polishing his Frontier Symbol. Megan (For want of a beter name for Dustin's mom)
walked in and said "We should have told him from the beginning."

"It wouldn't make much of a difference. He doesn't feel it yet. I doubt he will feel it by the time he comes to me."

"But what if he does feel it, and he starts acting on it?"

"Then so help me god. There isn't a force in this world that can stop him."

"Did we do the right thing letting him leave? Being bitten by that Lucario in the past, it can't have been good for him."

"I think he'll do fine. Don't worry, sweetie. He'll be fine when the time comes."

"I hope you're right." Both of them stared into the sunset.
