Chapter 42

Journey to Another World 3
Ch. 12

"Wait a minute Jenavee. Don't you think your moving things a little fast." I said as I tried to reason with her. After we'd turn in Rena to the Nurse Joy, Jenavee practically dragged me up the stirs to the room. Once we'd gotten to the door Jenavee snatched the key out of my hands and practically threw the door open pushed me inside. I stumbled around until I got my balance and looked over at Jenavee. She had seductive smile on her face as she threw the key somewhere and started popping her hips as she swayed over to me.

Once she got over to me she just smiled to me, then pushed me. I didn't see the bed behind me as my legs caught the underside of the bed, and I fell onto my back. When I looked up again I saw that she was standing at the foot of the bed, between my legs.

"Not really no. I think that since you have been with Rena, that I should reaffirm our love for one another." I tried to sit up but found Jenavee's finger pointed right at my head, then felt something quite strong shove me back down onto my back and held me there.

"But it's still practically the middle of the day. And...and...and." She slowly starts to crawl over me which reminded me of like a cat stalking it's pray, but what really got me nervous was the hunger that I saw in her eyes. I try to think up another excuse to try and get out of this situation, but nothing came until something finally sparked a memory. "I still need to find out what attacks our new friend knows. After all, if she's going to be traveling with us, I think it might be important to know those kinds of things."

Which caused her to scowl for a minute, but the scowl slowly faded as I explained things in greater detail to her. "W...ell I guess I see your point." She looked out the window of the room and could still see that there was still quite a few hours before the sunlight left. "Ok then. I will let you go on ahead and train with, 'K I T' for a little while." She slowly crawls off of me, but not before she slowly traces a finger down my chest. "But do not think for a second that I am going to let her be alone with you. I...will...be...watching...you...two." She says while she points a finger at me.

As if thinking that I'd do something with Kit. 'I think it'd probably be the other way around.' But didn't let Jenavee hear that private thought. 'Not to mention but she'd probably tear me limb from limb if I did.'

After things had calmed down a bit we went back down stairs. I walked over to the nurse to check on the progress of Rena, but found that she still needed quite a bit of time before she would be released. 'So much for that way out.' With that done I walked outside the center and started to look around for a good place to get in some practice with Kit.

"Actually I have a small request before you begin training, 'K I T'." I didn't want to turn around and see the anger that was most likely still on her face. After all she did hate as well as harbor a deep suspicion or mistrust of the Ninetails.

"And that would be?"

"It is nothing to be excited about. Rena just thought that it would better if you were to get a pair of glasses." I didn't know what she was talking about so I slowly turned back to her, and saw her flinch when I looked at her. "At least until your eyes become the same soft blues, that I...we remember."

"I see. I guess it is a little unsettling to see someone with my color eyes." 'As well as someone with my height accompanied with blood red eyes.' So the two of us walked around until we found the local Poke-mart and went inside. Of course most of the things that were within the store pertained to the needs of Pokemon, but I eventually found some other things for regular people as well.

I eventually found what I needed at the front checkout counter, but then remember that I was a little low on some of my potions. Quickly stalking up on those things, plus a few others I was about to head towards the checkout again, but saw a sign over a barrel, saying, 'TM's for sale. Cheap.'

'TM's? I never really thought about those.' So digging through the barrel I eventually came up with two. A number 28 and 79. For some reason, they seemed to stick to my hand as I pulled it out of the barrel.

"What have you got there Donovin? Oh TM's. I have not seen one of those since we traveled through that forest so long ago."

"Wait a minute. The forest? You mean the forest where we met that green clothed girl?" I asked in a disbelieving tone. 'Had we really gone through that forest at all?'

"Well of course. That is where you found that one TM that taught me how to use electric attacks." She emphasized that by taking her hands and placing one above the other, and small lightning bolts danced between her palms. "Do you not remember that time you spent with us? Or that girl you helped?" To which I simply shook my head.

"I think that something must have happened to me before we entered the forest. Because I don't remember the girl, or anything else that happened to us once we passed through the threshold of the forest." I didn't want to spend the rest of the day chatting about something I couldn't remember so I waved my hand in front of my face, like I was trying to clear the air of a foul smell and smiled to her.

With that settled we went up to the counter, paid for the TM's, some potions, the sunglasses of course, and a few other small things. Including a few gifts for my two favorite girls. To which I was glad that Jenavee hadn't seen me grab earlier.

Once the things were paid for, we exited the store and started to look around. It didn't take us long before we spotted the edge of the forest and headed for it. "To tell you the truth, not much happened while we went through there." She said as we continued to walk towards the tree line. "It was almost like you were in some sort of trance, and your only goal was to get through there as fast as possible." She went on to say that we found a few TM's that weren't anything special, except the one that taught Jenavee how to use electric attacks, specifically the move, 'Thunderbolt'. To which I'd obviously used on her.

Other than that, the battles were a little tough for the two girls, but with the Chansey's healing powers, both Rena and herself quickly grew in level. So much so that she was afraid that she was using to much psychic force, just like she'd used on that one Shinx's even longer ago. Unfortunately her fears were realized when many of the bugs would either splatter against said trees, or not get up after the throw at all. She even freaked when the green girl has squealed at some and the end result was a lose of experience for everyone, or a bug that would never see the same area again, or the light of day.

'Natural girl reaction.' I thought. Or was it more like, 'Natural city girl reaction.' Which caused me to laugh a little.

"What is so funny?"

I looked over at her from the corner of my eye. "Nothing really. I just remembered that where I come from, girls had a great fear of any kind of bug. And would do very funny or strange things to kill them." I stopped and turned to her. "Your not afraid of a little bug are you Jenavee?"

"Me o...of course n...not." Not very convincing reply in my book. And as if fate decided to have a good laugh, a very large red bug that had two nasty looking spikes on it's back, crawled out of a bush that was right next to us and rubbed itself against Jenavee's legs. I could visibly see a shiver run up from her feet to the tips of her hair. "EEK!" She squealed, then leapt right into my expecting arms. "A bug. Kill it...kill it...kill it."

The little thing was so startled by Jenavee's reaction to it, it shot out a string shot attack that covered both our faces. "Now, that wasn't very nice." I said as I set Jenavee to my side and quickly wiped the silly string off my face. The little bug was just standing there, with it's back pair of spikes pointed up at me. "Now be on your way little guy. I have no need to pick a fight with you." I told it as I tried to shoo it away.

Though that little guy apparently did want a fight, as it shot a set of needles at my chest. I hadn't really been expecting this, so when I scarcely dodged the attack, it cut two nice holes in my shirt's side. Scarcely missing my skin. "Now that was totally uncalled for. So you looking for a fight little guy." The bug simply just clicked it's to needles together and nodded. "So be it. Jena..." I tuned to look at her, only to see her cowering behind a light post, while shaking her head.

"Oops. Sorry, forgot about that." My next thought was of course Rena, but I just remembered that she was still at the center getting patched up. 'We'll I guess Kit's going to be getting in some practice sooner than I thought.' "Alright bug, if your looking for a fight. Then I'll give you one. 'Come on out Kit.'" I said as I threw her ball out, while getting some distance between where Kit was going to take on the bug.

'Haven't used this thing in a while. Hope it still works.' I thought as I pulled out my Pokedex, then flipped it open as I swiftly turned around to the battle. Just as I did, Kit emerged from the white light and let out a loud howling sound. She didn't even look around as she saw the bug sitting, battle ready, across from her.

"Wurmple, the bug type Pokemon. It loves to eat leaves. If it is attacked by a Starly, it will defend itself with it's spiked rear." The Pokedex said about the bug.

"Sorry to bring you out for the first time, only to have you fight Kit." She turned and nodded to me over her shoulder. "I would like to ask if you could show me what kinds of moves or attacks you know." She gave me a smirk.

"Ninetails...Nine." She said, as her silver like tails waved back at me.

"Just make sure to not use to much force." And so the battle began.

The bug lifted itself up on it's back set of legs and made a sort of deep sucking sound. Just like someone was trying to take a breath through a runny nose. I was about to tell her to get out of the way, but Kit must have had something in mind as I could see flames leaking out of her mouth. (It looked something similar to when you'd squirt lighter fluid on the underside of a 2by4 then light the underside. The flames will only be on the underside of the board and leave the upper half untouched. At least for a while.)

And just as the little bug let out that that silly string again, Kit opened her mouth and let out something that looked like it was from the swamp. You've probably heard about it, but seeing those blue or green fires from the swamp, those will-o'-wisps, those things are scary. Thankfully I was seeing that thing in the day time. (Authors note: If you still don't know what I'm talking about, rent he game 'The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion) The wisp moved like it had a mind of it's own as it circled around string that was coming at her, and lit it aflame. It quickly moved down the string to the bug, and when it reached the bug, it exploded in a bright blue flame.

When the smoke cleared, the bug had burn marks over most of it's body. But it still looked like it was able to fight, as it lunged forward and tried to ram Kit. At first I thought it was a Tackle Attack, but when it lowered it's head I knew that it was going for something different.

"Watch out Kit. It's trying to use a Poison Sting attack." And with that said she brought her tails around and then something else happened. The tails solidified into one large mass and hit that bug like a baseball bat hit's a ball. Though she must have been holding back because when the bug hit her tail, time seemed to stop for a moment, then she simply just flung the bug away. Like someone would flick a fly off their pants.

The thing landed back where it had lunged from, but instead of standing it rolled and skidded along the ground. It eventually stopped and struggled to it's legs and let out to my surprise, another string shot. Though this time it was like the aerosol can had run out of pressure as the string just fell flat out it's mouth.

"That is one impressive bug." I said as I walked over to Kit, who was just about to let loose a fire type attack but I knelt down to her and placed a hand on her back. She looked up to me with a confused look on her face. "That's enough Kit. You did wonderfully." I said as I rubbed her back a few times, and she gave me a quick nuzzle under my chin.

"I think this little guy has put up a wonderful fight." I told it as I reached into my pocket. I could see that the bug had a fierce look in it's eye. Almost defiant. 'Strong willed to the end.' I thought as I pulled out the burn heal that I'd thought I would need, but hoped I'd never have to use. When I was about to use the spray on the Pokemon it tried to raise it's needles on it's backside but wasn't able to. "It's alright little guy. I'm just going to treat your wounds." I told it, as I used the spray on the bug. Then followed it with a potion that I kept in a spare pouch on my belt, just for emergencies.

When that was all said and done I smiled down to it. "There all fixed up now. Those potions will probably take a while to fully take effect, so I'll just..." I was about to reach out to it, but the thing must have had a little bit of strength left as it reared up and stung me. I didn't flinch as I'd been expecting this, and continued to do what I wanted to do. I picked the bug up and placed it back into the bush that it'd crawled out of.

"You should be ok in here until your wounds heal. So make sure you don't come out till then." With that I stood back up and walked back over to the two waiting girls.

"That was really sweet what you just did Donovin." Kit looked up at her and gave a few calls then looked back at me.

"What'd she say?" I asked Jenavee. I could see her smile then say something back to Kit.

"Kit was just asking me if you did that for every Pokemon that you defeated. And I said that that is the way that you treated all Pokemon that you have either defeated or come across. Especially us." I smiled to hear and gave her a quick rub on the cheek, then knelt down so that I could look Kit in the eye.

"I don't know what it was like with your previous trainer, but as long as your with me, I don't want you to deal the final blow to any Pokemon. Everyone should be given the chance to live. No matter what they've done." I told her as I began to rub her muzzle. Kit just leaned into the caress as she closed her eyes and let out a happy little whine.

Just then Jenavee cleared her throat and I nodded. "I guess that last attack that you were about to use was probably a fire attack." Kit gave off a little whimper as I had obviously not done a thorough rubbing, but nodded. "Probably either a Flame Thrower or a Fire Spin. Right?" She nodded again. "If you'd be so kind as to show me by using that attack strait up, I'd appreciate it." With a happy little bark, Kit sat on her haunches and let out a good sized Flame Thrower attack.

If I had to make a guess, I think that that attack could have hit a the roof of a three story building, or close enough to scorch the roof of one. Once she'd done that she let the flames quickly die down and looked back at me. I was still looking up to where the peak of the flames had petered out. With my head still up I looked down at her through the corner of my eye and smirked at her, "Now your just showing off, aren't you?"

The fox just smiled and swatted my backside with her tails before running off. I looked at Jenavee and she looked at me and the two of us gave chaise after that silly little fox. Laughing the whole time.
