Chapter 46
Journey to Another World 3
Ch. 16
"Well, of course I know that we have been spending quite a bit of time here in this town. But I like it here. Why do we have to leave?" Rena said as she crossed her arms and sat sideways on the bench in the cafeteria.
(Flashback)
Back in the room, both Jenavee and I had been awoken by the nurse saying that she needed to have us leave so that she could clean the room. Needless to say, when I'd gotten dressed, packed up, and opened the door, Rena and Kit were pretty upset with us since we'd accidentally locked the door after the little incident with the nurse. Though both weren't actually angry as they once we'd opened the door to them they both made a beeline into the bathroom.
(Flash-forward)
"I've told you once, I've told you twice. We need to get down to Hearthome city, so that we can give our friend Feebas the proper Poffins to evolve into a Milotic. Once that happens our team, no, our family will nearly be balanced out." I took another long drink of water and sighed. "We've got you with your fighting skills, Jenavee's psychic and electrical attacks, Kit with her fire attacks, and last but not least Feebas with it's water attacks once it evolves into a Milotic.
"Donovin's right Rena." Jenavee said. "We have spent far to much time here. It is time to move on." She too took a long drink of water and quickly popped a piece of Pokemon chow into her mouth. "Plus I do not feel right staying in a place that team Galactic has a base. Even though Donovin has cleaned it out." She chewed up the food and swallowed it. "There still is the chance that they could send a lot more people here to attack us. It would be a lot harder to pin us down and attack us if they do not know where we are."
Rena turned and slammed both her paws on the table. "Do you think that I do not know that Jenavee!?"
"Rena, calm down. Your starting to cause a scene." I said to her and looked around the room at the people who were in the center start to look in our direction.
"You think I am stupid or something?" Jenavee opened her mouth. "Do not answer that." She stared at Jenavee. "I will not be told what to do by you. Donovin is the only one that has the right to do that."
Jenavee looked at me. "Then could you talk some sense into her Donovin."
'It's just like that time I released Jenavee after Rena and I had had our little romp. Though this time it's reversed.' I took a long sigh. 'Rena's afraid that Jenavee's trying to take me away from her.' I looked up at the ceiling. 'Is there no calming this storm between these two?'
"DONOVIN!" They both yelled in unison. Effectively making me jump in my seat.
"Alright already." I looked over at Rena who was now standing with her paws still on the table. "I know that you like this town Rena but Jenavee's right. Eventually team Galactic will send it's henchmen to this town, searching for us. And they'll be in far greater numbers than the five of us can handle." She slowly lowered her head as she no doubt knew that she'd lost this argument. "After all, there are other places to see here in Sinnoh. If we stay here, we'll never be able to see them..." Cough Cough Cough. I brought up my hand to cover my mouth. I pulled my hand away from my mouth and found small flakes of dried blood on it. 'I guess some of that blood from my nose last night must had leaked down into my mouth.'
"Well, it seems that I clearly lost this argument." She said as she sat back donw and looked to Jenavee then to me. "So when do we leave?"
"We'll leave once we finish our breakfast, and head down cycle road again." Both girls looked at each other. "I know what your thinking but we don't have any choice. I can't ride down that hill with the two of you on the bike so your both going to have to stay in your balls until we reach the bottom of the hill."
Jenavee turned to me. "What about those trainers? Do you think we will be fighting any of them this time?"
I simply shrugged. "I'm not sure. I know that you both have gotten stronger so I'm not really worried about battling any of those trainers. Though I will try my hardest to reach the end of the hill as quickly as possible." Jenavee turned back to Rena.
-----(Switch perspectives)-----
'Do you think that that girl at the building is going to try and pull something again?' Jenavee asked Rena over the telepathic link that she set up between them.
'I do not think so. Since the first time she only tried to trick us in the battling on that slope. Though I would not put it past her to try something when he tries to ride past her.'
-----(Switch back)-----
Both girls looked back to me. "Well as long as you ride through that building and ride as fast and avoid battles down the slope. Then I do not think that Rena or I mind." She turned to look back at Rena to which she nodded. "Though you should be careful about that girl at that building though. She might try something while we are not there to protect you from her."
With that said I got up and the three of us walked over to the building. I didn't recall them to their balls before collapsing the bike. Once I was done, I turned to both the girls, pulled the both into a hug at the same time, and gave them both a kiss when they turned their mouths to me. "See you both soon. And just be prepared if I call you out suddenly, it's probably due to the fact that I got caught by a trainer." I told them as I stepped out of the embrace and recalled them to their balls.
I walked up to the building and the glass door retracted into the wall, allowing me passage. I saw the same girl sitting behind the desk of the counter. She had her nose buried in the pages of some magazine that I couldn't see the title of. Being as quiet and as quick as I could, I quickly mounted the bike and rode it to the other end of the building. Looking through the corner of my eye I could see that she had just noticed me as I sped past, but was unable to stop me as the doors to the other end of the building opened.
"HOLD IT RIGHT..." The rest of what she said was lost to the sound of the automatic vents over the doors, as I kicked the bike into another gear and quickly sped through the buildings open glass doors.
I was already on the slope as I turned and looked behind me to see that she was standing just outside the doors, shaking a fist at me. I just simply gave her a raspberry pulled down one of my eyelids, and then turned my attention back to the slope.
Since it was still so early in the morning, not many people were out on their bikes. So leaning over the handlebars of the bike, I quickly gained momentum and sped down the rest of the way of the hill. In what seemed like mere seconds, I had to throw the bike into quick curves to avoid hitting the backs of several of the cyclists. This was the best and only way that I thought of to avoid being seen going down the slope. In another second I had to squeeze the brakes as the end of the slope was coming up and the doors the other building at the end of the road was coming up.
These doors were gratefully designed different from the ones at the upper end of the slope as they retracted much faster. Upon a further look I noticed that there was rubber stoppers at the stop point of the doors. Most likely used to prevent the doors from shattering upon opening so fast. I paid no mind to the person behind the desk as I sped through that building just as fast as I came down the slope, and continued through the other doors.
'Damn.' I thought. 'Even back in my home town, I never got up that much speed going down a slope like that.' Even though we live up on a mountain, there weren't any real big slopes until you descended the mountain. And even then, those curves going down the mountain were so treacherous that one could easily go off the side of a cliff. 'I wonder is someone did something to my body again?' I thought as I had sped that fast down the slope.
Though I paid it no mind as I slowed the bike down and began to look around. Once I exited the building something seemed to be off about the area around the exit. For one, there didn't seem to be any trainers around, though that quickly changed as I peddled a little around the area. Though once I saw the trainers, most seemed to be up on some sort of cliff. 'No need to worry about those up there. To truly challenge someone, you need to have a direct/flat line of site to your opponent. So they can't look down and challenge me, though those two I'm no doubt going to have to face.' I thought as I notice two people on opposite sides of the road. 'Damn, and there's the entrance to the mountain.' I said to myself as I looked beyond the two kids.
'Are they having a staring contest or something?' Though something about that seemed off as well. 'Shouldn't they have challenged each other by now? Or is it something else?' I thought to myself. 'Wait a minute. That's it. Their waiting for a trainer to come along so that whichever one of them sees that person first, they can challenge them first. Then once that trainer is defeated or the challenger is defeated, the other will be able to take advantage of the fact that the opponent has weakened the trainers Pokemon and use that to their advantage.' I smirked. 'Very sly.'
So knowing their strategy I slowly peddled up to them and just as I thought, they both came up to me.
"I'm Rick."
"I'm Lacy." Then they both spoke in unison, "Were here to challenge you to a two on two Pokemon battle!"
"Aw shit." 'Whops! Did that really just come out of my mouth? Oh well, can't take it back now.' I thought as the challenge had caught me off guard. "A two on two, huh? Sounds interesting." I told them as I slowly got off my bike. 'I need to think of how to do this. I've never even heard of a two on two Pokemon battle before. Must be something new to the game. Ok here's what I know. It would probably be best if I use Jenavee and Rena, since they seem to be the most in sync with or would cooperate during a double battle.' So once the kickstand was down, I reached behind me and pulled off Jenavee's and Rena's balls and nodded to the two of them.
The three of us quickly distanced ourselves from each other. Just then I noticed that the two kids were wearing something akin to Scouting uniforms. Just like those worn by Boy and Girl scouts. Though I doubt that they were actual Boy and Girl scouts. 'Not time to think that over. Got to plan a set of attacks for whatever they throw out at me.
"Poke-ball go!" They both shouted as they threw out a ball each. The boys ball released an Onix . And the girl's released a Ditto.
"Not a bad set of Pokemon that the two of you got there. Though I doubt that they will be able to match up to the combined abilities of my Gardevoir and Lucario." I told them as I threw out my two balls. (Author: Get your mind out of the gutter)
Rena was the first to materialize from the ball, but what practically floored me was what the second ball released. It was Kit! "Oh no." I said as I slapped my forehead. "This can't be good."Chapter End Notes:Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners.
