Not Just Brotherhood, But True Family (Ch.25)

*The place is pretty empty, Mecha clearing his throat*
Mecha: Sorry folks, but there isn't much of an opening commentary. Suffice to say that a while has passed since the last commentary. Me, Jewel, and Xehta are currently headed off for a certain place. But for a quick overview, the gang destroyed Kage and his plans. Enjoy folks...*looks away* This...this is the last chapter.

*****When Last We Left Off*****

The remains of the Brotherhood of Shadow dissolved with Kage's defeat. Without their dark leaders to keep them together and keep the goal in their hearts, the various grunts of the group went back to their homes and families. The Brotherhood was always doomed to fall apart, no one able to take Kage's place, after the dark lord passed on from age, the might would crumble. The darkness would never last forever, just like its opposite light; it would always make room for balance. Kage's grand plan of bringing a new age cloaked in darkness was never to be reality, and his desires would always be unfilled.

Robie and Saria didn't spend much time thanking the group for their assistance. With a quick "thank you" The two vanished from the scene as silently as they entered. The group still had no real idea who the two were, or what they were doing. But such was the design of the two silent watchers.

Sima Yi, who yet again fled from the crumbling army that he was a part of, simply vanished. Death figured that since the Brotherhood was gone, Sima Yi's plans for power were lost. There wasn't another Orochi or Brotherhood for him to go to...so there was no way he could gain power through such a group. The cold, intelligent, and ever scheming human just faded from the eye of the world, with only the faint rumors of a human garbed in regal looking cloths and gloves with claws attached to chains.

Inferno, Sky, Rika, Bane, Blaze, Tia, Death, and Ferra all agreed on heading home, which didn't sit entirely well with one in the group. Flint looked to his teacher Albel, but the lucario turned and began to go, "I've got other business to take care of..." he had turned back to look at the little absol though, "Keep training pup...we will meet again...and I will test your skills than." He had went back to his path, throwing out a praise to the pups for dealing the death blow in the battle, than vanished in a burst of speed.

However a violent ally, no matter what he had done before...the group had to concede Albel wasn't nearly as bad as they thought he was. Flint struggled between joy and tears over the lucario's departure, before giving a smile, "I'm going to beat you next time Albel Sensei." The pup than went with his family back toward home.

*****A Month Later*****

The mountain air felt amazing...the crispness of it just like he remembered. Albel sighed happily, "Home...been so long since I've been here." He shook his head, proceeding on the path that lead to the den that his mother had lived when he left so long ago. The lucario had settled a few loose ends before coming here, mainly telling the Black Brigade that they were dismissed, along with making sure some of Nadox's most loyal followers didn't try looking for revenge.

Albel chuckled, seeing that the area hadn't changed much, some of the rocks had fallen away, but the place for the most part...seemed to have stayed still while he was away. But something had changed, a blaziken walked up to meet him just outside of his old den, "Can I help you?"

Albel eyed the male fire/fight type, "Who are you?"

The blaziken eyed Albel in return, "I could ask you the same thing."

Albel glared, "Don't think your little type means you're a match for me...I've defeated things much bigger, stronger, and skilled." The blaziken gulped, not willing to doubt the lucario's claims. "What are you doing here...bird?" Albel shot the question with a threatening tone.

"I live here with my mate." The male prepared for a fight.

Albel's aggressiveness waned, "Mate? Is she the lucario that called this place home?"

He eyed Albel, "How do you know...are you..."

"Albel? Is that you?" A female lucario stepped out of the den, eyeing the male.

Albel smiled...a warm smile. "Mother."

The female quickly ran to him, and gripped him in a hug, "It's so good to see you! Albel, it's been so long, you've got to tell me what happened to..." her eyes fell on his paw, "...what happened to your paw!?"

Albel hid his metal claw behind his back, "A charizard picked a fight with me...he regretted it. It's really nothing though mother, don't worry."

She looked to him, than nodded, "Alright...oh! Albel, this is Firion...he's...well..." she blushed.

Albel nodded, "He told me." The blaziken smiled, relieved that the intimidating lucario was his mate's son, meaning he didn't have to worry about a fight. Albel followed his mother into the den, listening to her stories of what had happened...and when he told his own tales...he left out his actions with the Brotherhood...he didn't think she needed to know.

*****Several Months Later (Present Time)*****

Loud laughter rang out as a group of young mon played together. There were 8 of them, the houndour and absol pups Azur and Flint, along with 2 normal poochyena, one a boy the other a girl. But the normality ended there...the others stood out in a very big way. There were 2 buizels; a boy and girl, both had wings on their backs and tentacles coming from the sides, midway between their arms and legs. There was another poochyena girl, but this one also had wings and tentacles coming from her back and sides. There was also a cyndaquil, with black over grey fur...but upon those fur colorations, he had small crack like coloration that was of the opposite side's color.

Tia and Blaze had been the first to have their child, much to their surprise. Blaze guessed that it was thanks to their genetic manipulation that allowed them to actually conceive a young one. The typhlosion was overjoyed to see the little cyndaquil when Tia finally brought him into the world. They had decided to name him Taze; it was a unique name...for a very unique boy, who was born from parents that shouldn't be actual blood parents.

Rika learned she was pregnant a few weeks after Tia learned, and a few weeks after Taze was born, she gave to Bane's son and daughter, Rein and Cryst. Cryst was named after her grandmother from Rika's side, since Bane's love for his mother had vanished. And Rein got his name since he knew what he wanted and went for it, reining over his parents at times. The two were proud parents too, and they were happy that they could count on the help of the rest of their family.

Ferra and Death had their children along with Rika and Bane, and they had the most...Death saying it was thanks to his great stamina. Ferra didn't help his inflated ego by saying it was because he was such a potent male. The buizel boy was named Mako, after Ferra's father. Mako's buizel sister was named Blair, and the lone poochyena was named Derra...a combination of Death's and Ferra's names. The altered mightyena was overjoyed to have his family, vowing to not let the mistakes of his own parents being repeated.

Azur and Flint were happy to have friends close to their age, Azur really glad that she got to be the leader of group, since she was best suited for it. The proud parents enjoyed watching the young ones play around, brothers and sisters...in both good and bad regards...as a few arguments broke out between them. Flint and Azur got a lot of admiration since they had been a part of their parents' last great adventure. The large family was happy to take time to relax...especially after everything they've had to endure to reach this point. None of the parents, who had saved the world 3 times, were sure if they'd have another adventure...all of them wanted to spend their time with one another, and with their children.

But the happiness wasn't 100%...as Inferno and Sky worried about Flint. The pup who had endured the most during the fight with the Brotherhood...had obviously changed from a sweet and innocent pup into something...darker. Flint still had times of being a cute and sweet boy...but he also displayed something else...when training and honing is fighting skills. Flint attacked with the same savage intent as Albel. The absol pup also liked being alone, though he didn't mind playing with his brothers and sisters...he did take time to just be by himself. Sky watched with a worried heart...not knowing just what damage the fight with Kage and his Brotherhood had done.

But with Flint's change excluded, the family was able to enjoy the happiness and peace that they fought so hard for. As the pups played, the parents watched from the mouth of the cave that they had claimed as home...well made as home. Inferno had decided to give his father his home, so they had all decided to make their own home...and they made it big. Inferno chuckled, "You know...it's funny."

Death looked to him, "What's funny?"

Inferno smiled, "Just think of it...did any of you think we'd become such a happy family?"

Rika giggled, "He's right...we're all like brothers and sisters...just like them." She motioned to their kids. "And I didn't think I'd look at Death as a brother."

Death chuckled, "I didn't think I'd see my brother as a brother." Laughter came from all of them at that, "It's pretty nice really...having a family."

Blaze nodded, "Yeah...it is...I missed this feeling."

Tia hugged her male, "Same here."

Sky gave a content sigh, "In a way...I'm grateful so much has happened to us. Orochi, Biogen, even the Brotherhood." She smiled, "They all brought us together...and strengthened our bonds. No matter what we've endured...no matter what's been sent at us...it ended for the best."

Ferra leaned into her winged canine lover, "I guess...I wish I had been around earlier to enjoy those times with you guys." She paused and thought about it, "But Death wasn't with you than...so...I guess I'm glad I came into the family when I did."

Bane rolled his eyes, "you're all a bunch of saps." He licked his mate's head. "But...I suppose that's why I enjoy being here." He chuckled, "Do you think...our kids will go through everything we've gone through?"

Inferno shook his head, "No...they won't go through the same things we endured...they will have to endure something sure...after all, Sima Yi is still around...and there are plenty people like Kage, Nadox, Errol. Maybe there's even another Orochi somewhere...but...no matter what form that trouble takes...I know our kids will overcome it."

Sky nodded, "We're their parents after all. They'll meet every challenge, and best it."

Rika grinned, "They'll beat the daylight outta anyone stupid enough to fight them."

Bane chuckled, "Right...they will aim to be better than us, meaning they'll be even tougher."

Blaze smirked, "Our kids are going to send scum flying."

Tia giggled, "And they'll probably find special someone's as they kick all that butt."

Death watched his mutated children, smiling, "No matter what obstacle they face, they'll fight with all their heart...just like us."

Ferra nodded happily, "Darn right they will. They're the children of the world's greatest travelers. Our tales are the things of legend."

"Darn right...but all legends come to an end...and as much as I wish it wouldn't...this legend is ending here." Mecha smiled, walking up to the group, the rainbow tailed ninetales Jewel beside him. Coming up behind them was another mightyena, with sky blue fur on his underbelly. The lower part of his muzzle was sky blue as well and also the lower parts of his legs. He possessed sapphire eyes and the fur on his head was long. It looked to be tied to a ponytail as though it was human hair. The front part of his "hair" was also sky blue and it drooped down on both sides of his head.

Rika grinned, using a volt tackle on the robotic mightyena, before getting blasted by the shoulder cannon. The two then laughed out, Rika hugging Mecha, "Great to see you metal mutt."

Mecha chuckled, "Great to see you too fat chu." The raichu slapped his nose, as the others, including the pups, gathered around. The pups got a crash course lesson on who the cybernetic mightyena was, as well on whom the rainbow tailed vixen was. "This mongrel right here is called Xehta. He really liked reading your stories, so I let him join me and Jewel in the commentary."

Xehta smiled, "It's...it's an honor to meet you all. I just loved reading about you!" His tail was waving fast.

Inferno looked to Mecha, "What did you mean it's coming to an end?"

Mecha sighed, "This is it Inferno...you guys are done...there's nothing more writing involving you guys. Inferno, Sky, Rika, Bane, Blaze, Tia, Death, and Ferra...you've all reached the end of the journey." He smiled weakly, "It was...a great honor...to write about all of your adventures. And I'm happy to say...that you can enjoy your time in peace."

Bane blinked, "Really...wow...so...this is..."

Rika finished, "The last commentary?"

Mecha nodded, "Yeah...and...I couldn't pick anyone else to do it with me...than you guys." Smiles appeared on the faces of the heroes, as Mecha looked to Azur and Flint, "You two are getting in on this too." The two smiled, leaping for joy at that. "Well than...let's start up the end shall we?"

Jewel: Yellow you got the cameratank ready?
Yellow: Yea... How many pictures you guys want?
Jewel: At least three for me. This is a big moment.

Black: *looking over Flint* Funny that the sol got more fighting spirit than the fireball.
White: Sis watch it or you're going to get it.
Black: Oh what can the puppy matchstick do?
Green: It's been fun looking over all of you. Even if things got hairy on the second to last fight you gotten into.
Azur: *glares at Black* Get her! *the kids, short of Flint, proceed to leap on Black, biting and trying to push her down*
Inferno: ...I feel sorry for Black...she's doomed. *chuckles* Hey everyone...it's been awhile hasn't it.
Black: HEY! Watch the face you little monsters.
White: Another swordsmon of sorts in the hero role. *Chuckle.*
Blue: Indeed. I'm glad all of you got though with your children intact. Hope I can help if anything goes wrong.
Green: I see the chu is still herself I see.
Rika: *smiles* Thank Green.
Bane: She's my fem for sure.
Death: I don't think that was a compliment.
Green: *Grins, leaving the chu* At least there isn't any more robust chus around. We already got one and that's plenty.
Rika: I'm a calm nice fem now.
Tia: Hey everyone, glad to talk to you all again. *chuckles* And thanks for joining us in this last commentary.
Yellow: It's a pleasure to join you too. I'm hoping all things go right for you and all of your friends from now on.
Purple: I got the camera ready guys
Mecha: Everyone gather round. This is one for the history books...the end of Tales of Travelers. *smiles all around, as the camera snaps the photo...and the story comes to a close*
