Brotherhood Ch.8

Brotherhood ch.8

Mecha: *waves* Hey everyone. Welcome to yet another chapter of Brotherhood.
Jewel: Yea....one full of who knows what.
Pink: What timing this is after my birthday.
Xehta: Yeah...it was some celebration. To bad I couldn't attend.
Mecha: You could have...you'd just have to be put in a tiny tiny plastic ball.
Pink: ...That kind of ball you know he'd barely move in right?
Mecha: *smirks* That's the points.
Jewel: Well I think it's best to try to go on about the story...leave them to their minds on the party.
Pink: Even if it's a little trouble for them already...well one of them.
Mecha: Jewel's right.
Xehta: I'm interested in seeing what's going to happen between Rika, Bane, and Ginger myself.
Pink: Ditto. *giggle*
Jewel: Something tells me either she's going to be a flurt or a mon stealer...both not good for Rika.
Mecha: Ya gotta wonder what Bane's gonna do. *Xehta nods in agreement*
Pink: Well allow me. Enjoy Brotherhood and we'll see you in a bit!

Rika gasped, seeing Bane passionately kissing Ginger. She couldn't believe her eyes, as tears came to them. "You're a much better mate than Rika. I love you Ginger."

"Mmm...I love you too Bane." the other mightyena said with a smirk.

Rika felt a combination of rage and sorrow fill her. She wanted to reduce them both to a pile of ash, Bane more than Ginger. Instead she just curled up and cried. Her crying only intensified as she saw the two leave.

**********

Rika woke with a start. She looked around and saw Bane was curled up around her. The rest of her friends were also around, and Ginger was a good distance away from her and her mate. Rika sighed, laying back down, feeling tears were still in her eyes. She had been having the same nightmares for the past few nights. Ever since Ginger came into the group, Rika was always worried about what Bane would do. Ginger didn't bother trying to hide the fact she found Bane attractive, but what really bugged Rika was that Bane didn't tell her off. The more Rika thought about it, the more she wondered if Bane wanted to still be with her. They had been through some of the worst problems, so maybe...their love hadn't been as strong as she thought.

Or maybe it was because of something else. But Rika didn't know what.

She sighed, actually, she did. It was a bit cruel to shock Bane every time he called her fat, or when he complained about playing ponyta for her. Then there were the times she shocked him for retaliating at the annoying things she did, like when she shocked him for nipping her...which he only did because kicked him in the face in her sleep. She knew she did a lot of things that most males would put up with, but she had always thought Bane would. Now she felt like she was wrong.

Rika sighed, sniffling lightly as she cuddled up to her mightyena, not sure if he'd stay that for much longer. She sighed again, not sure what to do, so she went back to sleep.

Inferno was up with the first rays of light, and saw that Flint was just getting up himself. "Morning."

Flint turned and smiled, "Morning dad." The pups eyes then went to the human and latias. He still wasn't sure what was going on. He knew that the Brotherhood of Shadow were the bad guys who kidnapped him and his sisters, but that was all he really knew. "Dad..."

Inferno smiled, "Confused. I can't blame you. It is a lot to take in. I'm sure you're not the only one." He was pretty overwhelmed by it himself. But he knew what was happening at least.

According to Robie, the Brotherhood of Shadow...was going to destroy everything, without pause or mercy. Originally, Robie and Saria were going to take care of it themselves, since they've been taking care of threats like this for years, though how many wasn't shared. But when the two finally found the Brotherhood, they had grown too strong for just two fighters to bring down. Robie and Saria spent 2 years searching for individuals who'd be able to help them fight against the Brotherhood, and eventually they found the group.

Robie explained how he wanted to make sure that they really were good pokemon, so he let them deal with Team Rocket, but by the time it was all done, he couldn't ask them to help, since Sky was pregnant. Inferno had felt pretty stupid when he learned that even Robie and Saria could see Sky was already carrying his pups. But before Inferno could lament, Robie went on, and told them of their failure to defeat the brotherhood in a battle. They had grown too strong, and with superior numbers, victory wasn't too likely without the assistance of the group.

And with the recent attack by the brotherhood, it was pretty obvious, they were already involved now. Robie regretted that they couldn't get here sooner to help them, but Albel had intercepted them. Despite the grim news, almost everyone's face light up. The only exception was Sky, who wanted to send the pups back to Obsidian and Cara. But that hope was cut short by Saria, who pointed out that the Brotherhood wouldn't hesitate to attack and abduct the pups again. Sky wasn't in the least bit happy about bringing the pups along for this war, but she could see that the safest place for the pups would be among their family.

Inferno knew that too, he hated to admit it though. Especially since all he was effectively doing was calling his friends and family weak. But, they wouldn't be able to protect his pups like he, Sky, and all the others could.

"Dad? What's going to happen now?" Flint asked a bit unnerved by his father's silence.

"We're gonna do what's right Flint. We're gonna help Robie and Saria beat the Brotherhood of Shadow."

Flint looked to his dad, "Yeah?"

Inferno nodded, "Yeah. It's the right thing to do. If we don't, a lot of innocent people and pokemon will suffer...and even if we don't know who all of them are..."

"It's the duty of the strong to protect the weak." Flint finished, smiling. "Help the helpless."

Inferno nodded again, patting Flint's head, "That's my boy." Flint smiled at the praise.

It didn't take long for the rest of the group to wake. Everyone, short of Rika, was ready for the day. And it started off with the shrinking of their group. Robie bowed, "Well...I'm glad that you all are going to help us with this task. However, I'm going to take my leave. We can accomplish more as two separate forces. It will divide the Brotherhood's resources, and make them much easier to deal with."

Saria smiled, "It's been fun guys. We'll see you later, don't worry." With no other words, the two took off.

Sky looked to Inferno, "So...what's our first course of action love?"

Inferno thought about all the details that they were given, and then nodded, "I think we need to start small. Robie mentioned that there was a small warehouse located on an island on the middle of the lake."

Death nodded, "Yeah...its supposed to hold a bit of supplies and what not."

"My guess...weapons and armor." Tia said, and the others nodded.

Sky smiled, "It won't be a big dent...but it'll still be a dent."

Blaze groaned, "I hate this already...middle of a water filled lake. Just nice."

Inferno smiled, "Don't worry...you and Tia will probably stay behind to watch the Flint and Azur."

Azur looked outraged, "Why can't we go with you and momma!?"

Sky was about to explain the danger, when Inferno intervened, "Because you two would be best at guarding the rear. You're small so you can easily ambush anyone trying to sneak up on the rest of us."

Flint smirked, he knew the real reason and agreed, and he wasn't surprised that Azur bought their dad's lie. He kept quiet about the true reason they weren't coming though, and he was at least happy he'd be coming along even to the lake. Flint stretched out, smiling up at his father, who returned the smile.

Sky nuzzled her pups, You two will be okay with Auntie Tia and Uncle Blaze. Right? the two nodded, Good. Then I guess we should get moving to the spot. The others all nodded, and headed off, staying together.

Rika wasnt too happy about it though, since Ginger was staying far to close Bane for her liking. The mightyena was still being flirtatious with Bane, and Bane didnt seem to mind. He really liked knowing he was wanted by a female. Rika could barely keep herself from shocking both Bane and Ginger, as she walked alongside her mate. Bane did notice she was lagging behind him a little though, but didnt think much of it. The raichu was down, and no one seemed to care at all. Rika sighed, holding back tears.

The gang was making good progress, and decided to stop for a quick bite to eat. Inferno and Sky were with their pups, watching them as they played around and ate. Tia and Blaze were eating up together, Tia more interested in Blaze than anything else, and that made the typhlosion blush. Death and Ferra were eating up helping Inferno and Sky watch the pups. Bane and Rika werent as together as Rika would have liked, since Ginger was eating right next to Bane.

Rika then decided she had to show Ginger that Bane was her mutt. She went up to his face, grabbed it and forced him to kiss her. Bane blinked, before smiling, OkayI dont think nows the time for fun. Were only eating hereand not that kind of eating.

Rika gave his nose a tap, I just thought you needed a good kiss love.

He smiled, licking her nose in response, Needed no? But Im not in the least unhappy with it.

Rika smiled, seeing Gingers response. She was irked when Ginger didnt even seem to notice or care. Rika went back to eating, getting a few more licks from Bane, which she couldnt help but return.

After the small meal, the gang was back on the move. In much the same positions as before, only Rika, her mood improved after the affectionate kiss and licks that she and Bane shared, was further up, by her mates head. Even if Ginger still wanted him, Rika knew Bane still loved her, but then the doubt came back, for how long would he still want her?

Rika didnt have long to dwell on it though, the lake had come into view. They looked the area over, contemplating their move and trying to find the storehouse. When they found it, they knew theyd have to swim. Inferno sighed he was the only one going that didnt like water in the least. Sky gave him some licks, making him feel better about it before nuzzling her pups. Be good.

Inferno smiled, And make sure to keep a watch on our backs. The pups nodded, looking diligent, Flint less so since he knew they werent really meant to watch the rear. With a few last good luck wishes and nuzzles to the pups Inferno, Sky, Rika, Bane, Death, Ferra, and Ginger began swimming across the lake to the small island. All of them found the water cold, and sped up to get out of it as soon as possible.

When they got back onto dry land they shook dry and went cautiously forward. They kept their eyes and ears perked, not knowing what the Brotherhood had here.

**********
Unknown to the group, another group was coming to the island. It was a convoy of the Brotherhoods, going to pick up supplies. And behind them, yet another group was moving for the same direction. The small lake was destined to become a battlefield.

Orange: How fun...one of my least favorite kinds of battles, two forces doing the sandwitch play.
Xehta: *nods* Yeah. Seems likes things are going to get pretty bad.
Orange: I'm just worried if those kids are going to be safe. A battlefield with them in it is high priced.
Mecha: *nuzzles the citrus colored fem* I'm sure they'll be fine.
Xehta: Yeah, Mecha's right. Tia and Blaze wouldn't let a thing happen to the pups.
Orange: *nuzzles Mecha and nods to Xehta* That's good but still, that put 5 lives up on the blocks to go against them. Add the fact one of them is mentally uneasy and it's trouble.
Mecha: *nods* Yeah. But we won't know how it turns out till the next chapter.
Orange: Then allow me. We'll see you on Brotherhood 9.
