Chapter 6
SHADOW TO GUARDIAN
Ch 6
"He seems to be coming around." Someone says. The hunter slowly opens his eyes, only to shut them quickly.
"Would someone please get that light out of my eyes!" He says in a harsh tone. The sound of shutters being closed are heard and the hunter opens his eyes again to a much darker room. He sees that the shutters behind him have been pulled, but not the window next to the general. When he looks around he sees that he is in a large hospital room. The general is sitting in a chair in the corner with a glass of something in his hand, and a nurse on his left holding a clipboard to her chest. There also seems to be a curtain that has been pulled around something just behind the nurse.
Judging by how intense the light was through the window that had been pulled he window must have been facing East. Also he must have been out of action for a day or more do to how sore he felt. He hears the sound of ice clinking around in a glass and looks at the general who was swishing his drink in his left hand.
"I know what your thinking and you've been out of it for at least two days." The hunter then turns to the nurse and she nods.
"That's right. You took a pretty good knock to the head. You've got several stitches in your head so try not to scratch at them." Nodding to the nurse he reaches up with his left hand and can feel a large bandage on his top of his head. He lets his arm fall back to his side and sinks a little deeper into the bed and closing his eyes to take a long sigh.
"I must say you had us all worried when you didn't check in after that thing was destroyed." He slowly opens his eyes again to look at the general. "That's right, everyone at the command center was watching the fight. After the thing was destroyed we awaited your call in for conformation on the kill but when none came we began to worry." He gives him a nod then looks over to his left at a table that has a plastic cup and pitcher on it. Quickly reaching over he snatches the cup off he table and drinks the thing down in one go.
"So what exactly happened down there?" The hunter places the plastic cup back on the table then tells him what happened. "I see. Well that is certainly interesting."
"What do you mean general?" The general sets down the glass he had just finished on a table that he hadn't seen and looked him right in the eye.
"I'm just surprised that a creature of that size would actually explode like that. The light that was given off by the explosion was so bright that many in the command center had to go in to have their eyes checked out afterwards. Though I believe that it was our own fault for watching the fight so close." The general laughs a little then stops and sighs. "When the rescue team finally arrived, and yes they recovered your bike and it's in your hanger, they found you unconscious with a major gash on your head." The hunter reached up and touched the bandage again, this time touching it a little to hard and wincing.
"Alright there general, I believe that visiting hours are over and he needs his rest. I'm going to have to ask you to leave now general." Nodding to the nurse, the general collected his glass and walked over to the hunter.
"Don't relax to much. I expect you back in business A.S.A.P." He clapped him on the leg and gave him a wave over his shoulder as he turned and exited the room. The nurse fussed over him for a little while then she too left. Just as he was about to drift off he heard the soft moaning of someone off to his left.
The other person must have finally come around. Which worried the hunter. 'Had this person been listening to their conversation?' He looked at the door that the general had just exited a little while ago, but realized that if the general had put him in a room with someone else that they must be ok to overhear the information. So he looked over at the drink and refilled the cup and took another drink.
"Well it's good to see you finally up and awake hunter." The hunter spews the water out of his mouth and drops the drink. He quickly looks around the room again and tries to find out where the voice has come from since it seemed the voice had not come from the occupant to his left. "Confused? Well you do not have to be. Look out the window to your right." Fear started to well up in him as he slowly turns to look out the window.
When he finally is looking at the window he is shocked nearly to death as he sees the same Gardevoir as before. Only this one was shrouded in violet, and not to mention floating just outside the window. He stairs at the figure for a little while until he starts to laugh. 'This is nuts, here I am looking at the same creature that faced off against that overgrown demon, and it's floating just outside my window. This has to be a dream. Wait a minute, that's it, this is a dream and I'm asleep.' With that he starts to laugh again and slowly lays down on his side while pulling the sheet up to go to sleep. Just before he shuts his eyes he laughs once more and then closes his eyes.
"Hay, now wait a minute! Do not go back to sleep! I need to talk with you!" It said in an urgent tone. The hunter doesn't even budge from the bed as he snickers as if showing how close he is to actually being asleep. "Alright have it your way." Just then the sheets are pulled off of him, then he is pulled by an invisible force out of the bed and lands on his backside with an audible thump at the foot of the bed.
"What the hell!" He yells out and quickly stands to find the culprit.
"Now that I have your attention, could you please let me in. It's rude to ignore a ladies request, I will have you know." This time the voice came strait from the window. It was like an invisible force had taken over his body as he walks over to the window and opens it. As his body was doing this he couldn't help but think of how was this creature actually talking to him. All those years he had been hunting these things, he needed his glasses to translate what these things said. Otherwise it all sounded like gibberish to him. Right here and now he was hearing this thing as if it could speak perfect English.
Once the window was finally open he stepped back as the Gardevoir floated into the room and lightly touched down. Just as the creature had touched down the light that seemed to surround it started to fade then vanished. It slowly closed it's eyes then took a long slow sigh then opened it's beautiful eyes towards the hunter. Her eyes were the same violet colored eyes as it's veil that it was shrouded in a moment ago.
"Now I have your attention I would like to pose a proposition to you."Chapter End Notes:Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners.
