~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was beeping. I groggily woke up, and saw the cloaking device light flashing red. It was the source of the beeping. I guess to warn us that the power was going out.
I picked it up and set it down, watching it with aprehension. Then, all of a sudden, the beeping stopped and the lgiht had turned blue, then dimmed to nothing. It was dead til tonight.
I quickly awoke Taiyala and said "We've gotta get moving."
She groggily moved her head up and said "Wha's a matter?"
"Nothing. Just want to head out so we don't get caught." I replied.
"Oh. Well, give me a minute. I've gotta go wash up."
I was surprised by this comment, so I asked. "Did you bump your head when we had sex last night? Do you think you're a Water-Pokemon?"
She just turned towards me and stuck out her tongue. "Contrary to belief, there are some fire-types who like the water. Just not being atacked by it."
"Ah. Well, I guess I'll figure out our direction of travel." I pulled the Palm Pilot from my pocket and pressed a few buttons on it. It asked for a thumb print. I gave it mine, and flashed once before chiming. (Once again, Mac turn on chime)
"Welcome, Denzel Roka. How did you sleep?" Martha asked.
"Alright, Martha. Thank you. Martha, I need a heading to Carbet City."
At once, it turned from silver to green, with a red arrow pointing to my right. "If you travel in this direction, you will reach Carbet City in a matter of a month, due to unexpected roadblocks."
"Martha, explain the roadblocks."
"Apparently, there was a rockslide not too long ago, and crews are currently cleaning up."
"Is there a camera in the vicinity of the roadblock?"
"Searching." a few beeps, then "3 cameras found. Showing footage from them."
And at once, three different screens were displayed in front of me. Each of them holding a different angle of the rockslide. I looked at one of them and said "Martha, zoom in on screen three on the top left portion of the slide."
The screen zoomed in, but the image was blurry.
"Enhance picture, please."
The picture was enhanced a few times before I realized what it was I was looking at. It was part of a bomb.
"Martha, the rockslide was man-made. Zoom out all the way, as much as you can."
The screen zoomed out and I saw what I didn't want to see. Crews were working on the road, and I recognized them all as citizens of Mercury City.
"Damnit! They got ahead of us." I looked at the other screens. They held no other information, so I said "Martha, give us a better route to Carbet City."
"Searching... No other path found. That road is the main crossing to get to Carbet City."
"Damn. Well, is there another city in the opposite direction?"
"Searching... One city found. Penime City. 50 miles." The screen turned green again and the red arrow pointed to the opposite direction. "It will take 2 months to traverse, due to lack of resources. Town close by as well. Kyodeon Town."
"Martha, how far is Kyodeon Town from here?"
"5 miles."
I sighed. It wouldn't be too bad. I knew Kyodeon Town, and the people in it. They were all friendly, and something else had me giddy, but I didn't know what. Then, it hit me. "Martha, replay the council meeting of September 12, 2009."
The screen replayed the video, and I suddenly knew why I was so happy. One of the people who voted nay was the Mayor of Kyodeon Town, as well as his uncle.
"Martha, stop footage."
The video stopped.
"Thank you, Martha. Shut down to conserve power."
"Thank you, Denzel Roka." And with that, she shut down.
I pocketed the palm pilot, and headed to where Taiyala was still bathing. "So, it seems going to Carbet City is out of the question."
"Why?" She asked.
"Well, people from Mercury have created a rockslide to bar anyone from getting by without being identified. That way, they'd be able to find us. Damn! They knew where we were going. But how?"
I kept trying to figure out, but couldn't come up with a pheasable answer. I then resorted to just walking over to Taiyala and kissing her.
"What was that for?" she asked when we broke the kiss.
"For the most beautiful Blaziken I've ever laid eyes on." I replied.
"Oh, stop it. You're making me blush." And it was true. She was turning even more red than when she started out.
"Heh. Well, we'd better head out. Nearest place is 5 miles from here."
"Alright."
They started walking in the direction of Kyodeon Town and said little on the way there. While it was only 5 miles, it took them a few weeks to get there, due to the fact that they had to sideskirt some search parties from Mercury. And all through this time, Taiyala had gotten a bit bigger.
When they reached Kyodeon Town, finally after almost a month of traveling and hiding, Taiyala looked pretty large in the stomach region. And they had not been eating much. Just berries and random stuff like apples, seeds, and they even found a corn field, which surprised them, but they only took a few ears to make sure that the people who owned it didn't get angry. So, of course, I was getting worried.
When I got to Kyodeon Town, I said to Taiyala "I have to tell you now. I don't know if my uncle still has it that he didn't like the decision of the whole No Pokemon Parentage rule, so I need to put you in a Pokeball."
She had a sad face on, but said "Alright. I don't want you to get in trouble, so go ahead."
I nodded. I then pulled out her Pokeball, as before all this, I had 'caught' her and then relased her, never to use her Pokeball again, until now. I beamed her back into the ball and kissed it once, before entering the Kyodeon boundaries. Once inside, I looked for the mayor's building. I found it, and went straight for it.
As I approached it, there were villagers staring at me, faces of worry, puzzlement, and even fear showing themselves at me from every one of them.
As I reached for the door handle, one of the villagers grasped my arm. "Are you from Mercury?"
I started a bit, but stupidly said "Yes, I am."
The effect was instantaneous. Everyone ran off and went into their homes, as if I was a disease riden rodent.
"Okay, that was different." I continued to the door, and opened it.
I walked into the spacious lobby of the Mayor's hall. It was carpeted with red carpeting, there was a statue of a Lopunny in the corner, his first Pokemon, technically, since back then it was a Buneary. The statue was made of solid gold.
"Well, Kar, you know how to indulge yourself, I'll give you that." I said to myself more than anything.
Then, the intercom broke out. "Stranger, Identify yourself."
I recognized the voice belonging to my Uncle, Karden Roka. Kar for short. "Kar, it's me. Den!"
The intercom shut off, and a panel opened up to the side of the Lopunny statue and there was a hand beconing him inwards. He followed, and was pulled in. After he was pulled in, the place instantly went pitch black, due to the fact that the panel had closed.
"What's going on? Where's-"
"Shhhhhh! Follow me!" the guy said in a hushed voice. Then, torches on the entire wall burst to life. It was a long stone staircase. It looked as if it never ended. Nevertheles, the man started walking. And I followed.
It took a few minutes, but when we reached the bottom of the staricase, I was greeted with a hug by both sides, and a kiss on one side.
Okay, that kiss had weirded me out. I looked to my left to see my uncle's Lopunny smiling at me. I then looked at my right to see my uncle rubbing the back of his head. "She seems to like you more than me. And that's saying something."
I looked around. It looked like a home. There was a bed, a table, a crib- Wait. A crib?
I looked at the crib, and saw a baby inside it, shifting it's sleeping position. It had rabbit ears, but other than that, it looked like a normal baby.
"Well, Lopunny, I'm already taken. And it seems you are as well."
Kar's Lopunny gave me a sour face and surprised me. "Well, excuse me! And it's Linda. Not that it's any of your business."
It didn't surprise me much, but I did do a double take, then went back to Kar and said "So how long did it take for Linda to have your kid?"
Kar gave me a weird look. "what makes you think it's mine?" He said, not all to convincingly.
I walked up to the baby and took note that it was a boy. "He's got my nose. And your eyebrows, or should I say Eyebrow." I laughed a bit, and the little tyke woke up and started crying.
Linda hopped over and picked him up and started breastfeeding him.
"Okay, now that's creepy."
"What, you have a problem with breastfeeding?" Linda asked.
"N-no. Not at all." I said quickly. I then turned to my uncle. "So, how long?"
He looked down at the ground. "It took her about 3 months."
"Hmm. Well, I guess I have two more questions."
"Then, permit me one." Kar said.
"Oh? What is it?" I asked.
Kar took a deep breath. "Do you abhore the act of Pokemon Parentage?"
I was taken aback by the statement, but just smiled, and instead of answering him, I took out Taiyala's Pokeball and relesaed her. There she stood, in the midst of another human and a Lopunny. She was severely confused, and said so right off the bat. "Where are we? I'm confused. I thought you weren't gonna release me because you didn't know if your uncle still hated the whole No Pokemon Parentage rule."
Kar just laughed. "Well, that answers that." He walked over to a megaphone piece and said to it "The newcomer is a believer. Treat him as he were one of us!"
He walked over to me and said "I am sorry for the villagers being so weird. They were afraid you were like the other people from Mercury, the ones who follow that Pokemon and Humans shouldn't be paired as a couple. I absolutely think it's horrible to not be together with your Pokemon in such a way."
"And I feel the same way with Kar." Linda piped up.
"Wait." I said. "So, does everyone here have a Pokemon as a husband or wife?"
"Yes." was Kar's simple answer.
"Oh. So, how did you guys evade detection throughout this whole time?"
"Well, you saw what they were like when you showed up. They have had to hide themselves from any outsiders and not talk to anyone if they were from Mercury, especially." He walked over to the stone slab and opened it up and said "Shall we?"
"Kar! What about Kail?" Linda asked.
"He can come up. It's about time he saw the world. he's, what? 5 years old already? He'll be fine!" Kar smiled.
"Okay. But he had better be fine, otherwise, I'll beat you to a pulp myself."
"Eheheh. She always likes her little joke." he said in an unconvincing tone of voice.
I smiled, then headed up the winding staircase. It seemed a lot longer than when he had gone down it, but then again, he was going up instead of down. It was gonna seem longer because it was more tiring.
When we finally did reach the top, we were greeted more warmly by the villagers who were admiring Taiyala and asking if they may feel her stomach.
Most of the attention was pretty cool, but Taiyala was getting tired of people asking to touch her stomach. It was as if they'd never seen a stomach before.
I then got an idea. "Kar, do you have anyone who can give Taiyala a checkup?"
At that moment, a Nurse Joy walked up. She didn't look like any of the other Nurse Joys. This one was wrinkly, and had a face that beheld wisdom. "These old bones. Would have been here sooner, but they don't like to react fast enough anymore. Anyway, I can give your Blaziken a check up, young man."
I wouldn't have known it was a Nurse Joy, except for the way she was dressed. And her figure hadn't gone with her age either. She was still fit, albeit skinny. "Thank you, Nurse Joy."
Nurse Joy grabbed Taiyala's arm and said "Come with me, dearie. We'll get you checked out."
Taiyala looked at me with a face of worry. I smiled and said in the Language with No Name "Tuh'd funno. Cra fuh'd tu yhodrehk du rind oui. E bnuseca."
This cheered her up and she walked with Nurse Joy without a fuss.
As she walked off, I couldn't help but notice that many people were giving me weird looks. More than likely because I had spoken another language that they had no idea what it was. Not even Kar knew, but he had heard me use it before. He just never caught on how it was used, or how to even pronounce most of the words.
I smiled and asked "Now, is there a place where we could spend a few days? You know, just to make sure we're all ready for the road ahead?"
"Well, it depends. Where are you going?" Kar asked.
"Me and Taiyala are headed to Kyodeon Town."
"Ahh! The land of the past. Interesting choice, but why there?"
"Well, we were gonna go to Carbet, but people from Mercury barred our way there with a Rockslide. They used a bomb to create it." (I could put in an All Your Base joke here, but I don't feel like it. Just let your own mind wander. Oh well, I'll put it here. I'm feeling itchy. SOMEBODY SET US UP THE BOMB!)
Kar smiled. "Then you really are on the run." I had a look of worry on my face, so he added "Don't worry. Most of the people here are outcasts from their old towns and cities."
And then, out of nowhere, a kid with completely closed eyes, and a goldish skin hue came beside me and said "It is true. You will be a father."
I looked down at the boy and raised an eyebrow. Kar, however, said "Thank you, Rein, for your words."
The boy bowed and walked off. I looked at the boy then at my uncle. "Uhh, what was that about?"
"Rein is our town psychic. Him being born from an Alakazam parentage, he has the ability to see the future. He rarely talks, however, but when he does, he foretells the future. So, expect Taiyala to come back all happy, and Nurse Joy to come back with news."
I beamed. This was gonna be exciting. Already my first month on the road, and it was beginning to be interesting.
Kar showed me to a house that noone had used in ages. He told me that Taiyala and I could use it for as long as we needed.
I thanked my uncle for his hospitality and went straight to the bed and fell asleep there.
I woke up later to the sound of the door opening and a creaking of the bed I was on. I then felt something wet on my lips. It was.. furry?
"Mmm." I broke the kiss that I was entangled in. "Taiyala?"
"No, silly. it's me." came a more feminine voice.
"Ugh. Linda?"
"Yep. How are ya, big boy?"
"Ugh. I was better before you came in here. What about yours and my uncle's kid? And while you and him are together, this seems kinda awkward."
"Why? Just cause we're partially brother and sister? I say if we're not total blood, then it's fine." She licked me on the cheek. It was the worst mistake she could have made.
"WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH MY MAN!?" came an angry voice, less feminine.
It was Taiyala. She was back, and she was livid, seeing some slut of a Pokemon hitting on her mate.
"Well, sweetheart, I'm just giving this man more of what he needs."
"Well, what if he needs me? What if he only wants me? Den, how much do you want either of us?"
I was dumbfounded by the question, but I was smarter when I was asleep and said "I don't feel like getting involved in this." and I rolled over and fell off the bed on purpose, only to leave the two alone in sight.
"Oh, that's just great, sweetheart." Linda said. "You scared him off."
"I scared him off? I SCARED HIM OFF?! What about you? Maybe he only wants to be with me and you're being just a dumb slut that only wants sex?!"
At this, Linda's left eye twitched. "what did you just call me?" she said in a dangerous voice.
'Uh-oh. Cat fight.' I decided to not get involved and let them deal with it.
"You heard me. Just a dumb slut that only wants sex."
From the word slut, Linda bristled her fur. "Nobody calls me a slut and lives to tell about it!" She fired off an Ice Beam at Taiyala and she just blew a flame kiss at it and the beam was stopped.
"Now, what was that pitiful little thing?" she asked. Damn. She sure was sexy when she was livid. In fact, I had never actually seen her fight for me. I decided I should just let her and Linda continue fighting over me.
Linda got angry again and charged at Taiyala, ears poised for an attack. Taiyala grasped one of the ears just as it shot out. She pulled it over her head and slammed her down to the ground. Linda hit hard, and had the wind knocked out of her.
"That's what you get for attacking someone stronger than you. Now get out." Taiyala said.
Linda picked herself up and walked out. I stayed there until I heard "Den, it's safe now. You can come up."
I raised my head up a bit and saw Taiyala smiling at me. "Uhh, maybe not."
Taiyala looked disappointed. "Why? I'm here, that slut's gone, why do you think you're not safe?"
"Well, because that was my uncle's mate. If she tells my uncle what happened, I'm in deep shit!"
Taiyala was taken aback by the last word, but regained her composure and said "Well, what's the worst that could happen?"
"Well, we could get thrown out of this place, and it would take a hell of a long time for us to get to Kyodeon Town, especially since you're pregnant-"
At the word pregnant, Taiyala perked up. "I didn't tell you I was pregnant. How did you know?"
"Oh, a little birdie told me." I smiled. She didn't need to know about the Psychic, otherwise, she'd be hounding him for information on her baby.
"Well, either way, it seems we're gonna be parents." she said.
I smiled. "So, do we know if it's a boy or girl yet?"
She shook her head. "It's still too soon to tell. I'm only a month in. I'm expected in 3 more months."
I sighed. "Well, I guess we'l be staying here a while longer still, as long as that stunt didn't get us kicked out."
She smiled. "It doesn't matter if we are. As long as I'm with you, I can brave whatever we go through."
I smiled. "I wouldn't have it any other way." I kissed her once, and guided her to the bed.
She laid down and covered up, and I laid down as well. We soon fell asleep, happy dreams of our child dancing in our heads.Chapter End Notes:Tell me what you think! Honestly the longest chapter I've written so far
As she walked off, I couldn't help but notice that many people were giving me weird looks. More than likely because I had spoken another language that they had no idea what it was. Not even Kar knew, but he had heard me use it before. He just never caught on how it was used, or how to even pronounce most of the words.
I smiled and asked "Now, is there a place where we could spend a few days? You know, just to make sure we're all ready for the road ahead?"
"Well, it depends. Where are you going?" Kar asked.
"Me and Taiyala are headed to Kyodeon Town."
"Ahh! The land of the past. Interesting choice, but why there?"
"Well, we were gonna go to Carbet, but people from Mercury barred our way there with a Rockslide. They used a bomb to create it." (I could put in an All Your Base joke here, but I don't feel like it. Just let your own mind wander. Oh well, I'll put it here. I'm feeling itchy. SOMEBODY SET US UP THE BOMB!)
Kar smiled. "Then you really are on the run." I had a look of worry on my face, so he added "Don't worry. Most of the people here are outcasts from their old towns and cities."
And then, out of nowhere, a kid with completely closed eyes, and a goldish skin hue came beside me and said "It is true. You will be a father."
I looked down at the boy and raised an eyebrow. Kar, however, said "Thank you, Rein, for your words."
The boy bowed and walked off. I looked at the boy then at my uncle. "Uhh, what was that about?"
"Rein is our town psychic. Him being born from an Alakazam parentage, he has the ability to see the future. He rarely talks, however, but when he does, he foretells the future. So, expect Taiyala to come back all happy, and Nurse Joy to come back with news."
I beamed. This was gonna be exciting. Already my first month on the road, and it was beginning to be interesting.
Kar showed me to a house that noone had used in ages. He told me that Taiyala and I could use it for as long as we needed.
I thanked my uncle for his hospitality and went straight to the bed and fell asleep there.
I woke up later to the sound of the door opening and a creaking of the bed I was on. I then felt something wet on my lips. It was.. furry?
"Mmm." I broke the kiss that I was entangled in. "Taiyala?"
"No, silly. it's me." came a more feminine voice.
"Ugh. Linda?"
"Yep. How are ya, big boy?"
"Ugh. I was better before you came in here. What about yours and my uncle's kid? And while you and him are together, this seems kinda awkward."
"Why? Just cause we're partially brother and sister? I say if we're not total blood, then it's fine." She licked me on the cheek. It was the worst mistake she could have made.
"WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH MY MAN!?" came an angry voice, less feminine.
It was Taiyala. She was back, and she was livid, seeing some slut of a Pokemon hitting on her mate.
"Well, sweetheart, I'm just giving this man more of what he needs."
"Well, what if he needs me? What if he only wants me? Den, how much do you want either of us?"
I was dumbfounded by the question, but I was smarter when I was asleep and said "I don't feel like getting involved in this." and I rolled over and fell off the bed on purpose, only to leave the two alone in sight.
"Oh, that's just great, sweetheart." Linda said. "You scared him off."
"I scared him off? I SCARED HIM OFF?! What about you? Maybe he only wants to be with me and you're being just a dumb slut that only wants sex?!"
At this, Linda's left eye twitched. "what did you just call me?" she said in a dangerous voice.
'Uh-oh. Cat fight.' I decided to not get involved and let them deal with it.
"You heard me. Just a dumb slut that only wants sex."
From the word slut, Linda bristled her fur. "Nobody calls me a slut and lives to tell about it!" She fired off an Ice Beam at Taiyala and she just blew a flame kiss at it and the beam was stopped.
"Now, what was that pitiful little thing?" she asked. Damn. She sure was sexy when she was livid. In fact, I had never actually seen her fight for me. I decided I should just let her and Linda continue fighting over me.
Linda got angry again and charged at Taiyala, ears poised for an attack. Taiyala grasped one of the ears just as it shot out. She pulled it over her head and slammed her down to the ground. Linda hit hard, and had the wind knocked out of her.
"That's what you get for attacking someone stronger than you. Now get out." Taiyala said.
Linda picked herself up and walked out. I stayed there until I heard "Den, it's safe now. You can come up."
I raised my head up a bit and saw Taiyala smiling at me. "Uhh, maybe not."
Taiyala looked disappointed. "Why? I'm here, that slut's gone, why do you think you're not safe?"
"Well, because that was my uncle's mate. If she tells my uncle what happened, I'm in deep shit!"
Taiyala was taken aback by the last word, but regained her composure and said "Well, what's the worst that could happen?"
"Well, we could get thrown out of this place, and it would take a hell of a long time for us to get to Kyodeon Town, especially since you're pregnant-"
At the word pregnant, Taiyala perked up. "I didn't tell you I was pregnant. How did you know?"
"Oh, a little birdie told me." I smiled. She didn't need to know about the Psychic, otherwise, she'd be hounding him for information on her baby.
"Well, either way, it seems we're gonna be parents." she said.
I smiled. "So, do we know if it's a boy or girl yet?"
She shook her head. "It's still too soon to tell. I'm only a month in. I'm expected in 3 more months."
I sighed. "Well, I guess we'l be staying here a while longer still, as long as that stunt didn't get us kicked out."
She smiled. "It doesn't matter if we are. As long as I'm with you, I can brave whatever we go through."
I smiled. "I wouldn't have it any other way." I kissed her once, and guided her to the bed.
She laid down and covered up, and I laid down as well. We soon fell asleep, happy dreams of our child dancing in our heads.Chapter End Notes:Tell me what you think! Honestly the longest chapter I've written so far
