Chapter 12
CHAPTER 12 THE BODY SWAP PART 1
Ash could not believe what he was seeing, but he knew that it was true. He turned his head and looked at his new body. Several questions popped up in his head at once. But he turned and quickly made his way back to the campsite. When he got there, it was complete confusion. After awhile, they got things more into order. Neo was in Latios's body while Latios was in Neo's body. Lugia was in Ash's body and Ash was in Lugia's body. However Bayleef, Mana and Slate weren't affected at all. "So what are we going to do now?" Latios asked while still trying to get used to the body he was in. "I don't know." Lugia said, his voice sounding strange coming out of Ash's mouth. Mana and Slate stood near Ash. "Still, how did they know you were in Lugia's body?" Bayleef asked. "I don't know. They must have just known somehow." Ash said. "But what should we do now? I mean we can't go back to the city just yet." Neo said. "I think we might stay here while Bayleef goes to the city and get someone to come help us." Ash said. Bayleef nodded and ran in the direction of the city.
Far above the planet, a cloaked ship hovered in orbit. On a screen in the ship was Bayleef running to the city. "Now all I need is for the others to arrive and then I'll strike." the figure laughed as it waited.
Hours later, Amber, Onyx, Mewtwo, Jake and K'tal were standing in the same area as the others. "So let us get this straight. You all switched bodies somehow?" Amber asked. "Yeah, and we don't know how to reverse it." Neo said. However, Lugia was deep in thought (This is impossible. This can't happen. All traces of this were removed.) "Hey Lugia, what are you doing?" Bayleef asked. "Sorry, just thinking of something." Lugia said as he looked back down at the ground. Mana and Slate chased each other around as the others thought of what happened. "It could have been a weapon of sorts." K'tal said. "What is with you Klingons and thinking something is a weapon or an enemy all the time?" Ash asked. "Hey, we are a warrior race and we can't count anything out as not being a weapon or enemy." K'tal explained. "We will return to the city to see if anyone can figure this out." Onyx said as they headed back for the capital.
Ash had just finished telling a story to Mana and Slate. "So you saved the world more than once?" Mana asked. "Yes, I did." Ash said. "That must have been cool." Slate said. "Well not all the time, almost dying and running into barriers and the like." Ash said, remembering how many times he had run into barriers. "So how did you two know it was me in this body?" Ash asked as he gestured to the body he was in. Mana and Slate looked at each other. "We just knew it was you." Mana said. Ash continued to tell them about his adventures and the many friends he had made. Mana and Slate laughed hard when Ash told them about the time he had to dress up as a girl. "You really did that just to get into a Gym?" Latios, who was overhearing, laughed. "Well I had to get that badge and...well, it wasn't my idea, OK?!" Ash said. "But why did you get into fights with Misty?" Slate asked. "You know, I never found out. I mean she did say she was following me for her bike" Ash said.
A while later, Ash had gotten the hang of his new body and was flying around with Mana on his back. He looked to see Neo flying next to him with Slate on his back. Mana shouted out with joy, "I hope I can fly someday. This is fun!" Ash and Neo looked at each other and snickered a bit knowing what would happen in the future. As they continued to fly, Ash looked down at Lugia and Latios, who were trying to catch some fish while Bayleef watched. "I'll never know how humans manage to catch fish this way." Lugia said as he threw a fishing line into the stream. "I don't know either, but at least it is fun to learn some new stuff about humans." Latios said as he sat on a rock with his fishing line in the stream as well. Jake had come back and was getting firewood to make a campfire. He had told them before that they were still trying to think of who did this and how to reverse it.
Back with Ash and Neo, "Master, race you!" Neo said. "You're on!" Ash yelled as both of them took off at him speed. Both Mana and Slate were having the time of there lives. All of them were unaware of being watched.
High above the planet, the cloaked ship hanged there. "Soon it will be time for me to strike." the figure said. The figure looked at a monitor and said "My plan may have backfired, but it still leaves them at a disadvantage." The figure let out an evil laugh.
Both Ash and Neo came back. However Mana and Slate were on Neo's back while Ash looked a bit injured. "Okay, what happened?" Lugia asked, a bit angry that his body was injured. "Sorry Dad, I sort of ran into a mountain." Ash said as he landed. "At least there is no serious damage done to your body." Jake said to Lugia. Mana and Slate hopped off Neo and ran to Ash. "Daddy, are you okay?" Mana asked, worried. "Don't worry; I'm okay, just a bit sore." Ash said as he made his way next to his tent. As soon as the fish were cooked, they began to eat. Ash, however, as having a bit of trouble. "Umm, do I eat the fish with the bones or without?" Ash asked. "You can eat the fish with the bones. I've done it before in that body, although I have to be careful with your body." Lugia said as he was just shown how to handle a Knife and Fork. Amber and Onyx joined them a while later when they came back to the campsite.
On the ship in orbit of the planet, "It is time for me to strike." the figure said as the ship made its way down to the planet.
Amber ate a fish and then said "What I still don't get is if someone did this, who do you think it was?" Then they heard laughing and a mechanical voice say "I believe that would be me." Ash was shocked. "I know that voice..." he said as he turned around and saw the figure. It was the Hunter.
