Return of an Old Friend
A few weeks have passed since Marina and Ash had confessed their love for each other. But to their friends, they were still missing. Team Aqua members had been looking for them while Ash's friends had stayed in a town near the ocean as they searched. Ash's Pokemon stood facing the water. All of them sick with worry. "I hope Ash is all right." Pikachu said. Absol looked at him and then back at the water and said "I am sure he is alright. He won't die easily." Absol said. "What do you mean?" Pikachu asked. "Because his role as the Chosen One is not over yet." Absol said. "What do you mean it's not over yet?" Aipom asked as she looked at Absol with a skeptical stare. "Because two great disasters are coming." Absol said. "And just what are they?" Turtwig asked. "The first is about Metal Giants from the stars coming to wage war here on Earth. And the second is a swarm of metal orbs invading this universe along with two others." Absol explain. "Okay, both of them sound pretty strange to me." Staravia said. Absol looked back to the water and said "I know they sound strange, but it is true. It is told in a legend." "What is the legend?" Pikachu asked. Absol sighed as he turned to them and said "I can't say. It is forbidden for an Absol to talk about it to others. We can discuss it between members of our packs and no one else." "So we will just have to wait and see, huh?" Turtwig said. "I just hope that we will find them before Sektor Sieben does." Pikachu said as he looked back to the water, praying for his Trainer's safety.
On an island, Ash and Marina were trying to contact their friends but were trying not to attract the attention of Sektor Sieben in the process. Marina had been catching fish for the two to eat while Ash was setting up a campfire to cook them with. He soon turned to see Marina looking at the water waiting for fish to swim by. He then noticed something he had not observed before.
"Hey Marina, what's wrong with your back?" Ash asked. Marina looked at Ash with a confused look and asked "What do you mean something is wrong with my back?" "Well you don't have the two spots that Dawn's Buizel has." Ash said. Marina laughed and said "That's because Dawn's Buizel is male." "I still don't get it." Ash said as he tried to figure it out. "Well, male Buizel have two spots on their backs while female Buizel have only one. Same goes for my evolved form." Marina said with a wink. Ash looked back down at the fire that he was setting up.
In the Team Rocket HQ. Giovanni sat in front of a screen as the alien he was in contact with appeared. Once again the creature was surrounded in darkness. "I have sent one of our most loyal soldiers to Earth. Has he arrived yet?" the figure asked. "We are tracking his descent to Earth. Some of my men with a large transport will pick him up and bring him back here." Giovanni said. "Good. He will keep contact between us safe." the figure said as the screen went blank.
Ash and Marina laid next to each other on the beach looking at the night sky. Ash turned his head a bit and looked at the Pokemon he loved. He looked back to the sky and saw a shooting star. Ash then said "I wonder what my friends and my mother will do when I tell them I fell in love with you, Marina." "Well, I'm sure it is in the best idea not to tell anyone for now." Marina said. Ash looked back at the sky, a bit worried and happy at the same time.
On the other side of the island. A group of black boats landed and men in suits and robots hopped off them. "Ash and that Buizel are here on the island somewhere. Find them and kill them." The commander ordered. "Yes sir." the men said as they broke off into groups.
Ash stayed awake as Marina slept at his side. He was wondering what kind of life was out in space. He turned and gave Marina a little pat on the head. He smiled as she moved closer to him in her sleep. It was then that dark clothed men and robots appeared. "Don't move." one of the men said. "Now we've got you right where we want you." another said as they all brought their weapons up. "You can't do this!" Ash said. "Oh yes we can and there is no one here to help you." another said. Then a voice said "No one but me, you mean." Everyone looked around in surprise. Ash and Marina looked at the ocean to see the surface ripple and then something burst out of the water. Ash immediately recognized the figure. "Lugia!" he happily shouted. "It's Lugia!" an agent said. "Forget those two. Kill the Lugia!" another agent yelled. "I don't think so." Lugia said as he used an Areoblast on several of the men. Upon landing, he generated a barrier as agents fired. "Hop on, you two." Lugia said as he looked at Ash and Marina. Nodding, they climbed onto his back. Lugia took off before using another Areoblast to kill the remaining agents and robots.
Ash's friends were camping in the woods as they tried to go to another town to see if Ash had turned up there. Absol looked up to the sky and saw Lugia. Brock, who was out, turned and saw Lugia and also saw Ash and Marina on his back. "Ash, you're back!" he shouted, waking everyone up. After welcoming him back, everyone turned to see Lugia. "I must leave now. But I will be back. And Ash, your role as Chosen One is not over just yet." Lugia said as he took off and flew into the night sky. Ash was left wondering what he meant.
