Lucario

Females enter a heat cycle around twice a year, but it can also occur more frequently depending on various conditions, such as the degree of the female's desire to mate. The pheromones emitted by the female are easily detected by males of many species, but the female will most often mate with her own kind. The male and female mate in similar fashion to humans, usually in a very loving manner. Once pregnant, the female will be less prone to performing physical labor, but still retains the power Fighting types are known for. The male will usually tend to his mate while carrying out his duties in society, whether it be within a nomadic clan of Lucario or in modern civilization.

The Lucario's gestation period averages 50-60 days. During birth, the female will usually sit upright and give birth in a manner similar to humans. The male will remain by his mate's side while offering support. During delivery, the female experiences minor to mild pain. Once the pup has been born, the child is fully aware of the world around it, but is still quite vulnerable. Like a human, the female's two breasts begin to lactate prior to birth and are used to breastfeed the newborn. The child is usually weaned over the course of 5-6 months.

Lucario families are very social and care for each other in their clan's society. But like humans, male Lucario are known to rape females and are even known to occasionally use rape as a weapon against enemy clans. But since it is unlikely for a female to become pregnant when not in heat, rape seldom succeeds in inducing pregnancy unless the female happens to be in heat at the time.

Mightyena

Mightyena do not have a heat cycle, but females do become more fertile than usual every several weeks. It is quite difficult to tell if a female is fertile just by looking at one. Due to the strict code of conduct in Mightyena packs, mating is usually only permitted with the consent of the Alpha male and female. Once the mating has been permitted, the male and female will mate in the traditional feral style canines prefer. Once pregnant, the female will not be permitted to hunt in order to insure that her unborn pups will not be hurt. Following a successful hunt, all pregnant females are given first rights to the prey to make sure they get enough nutrition for their babies.

The gestation period for Mightyena averages 60-63 days. While giving birth, the female is protected by members of the pack. During the birthing process, the female feels very little pain. It is very rare for a Mightyena to have a single child. Litters usually contain 2-6 pups, but there are recorded incidents where more have been born. If any of the pups are male, the Alpha male may decree that they be killed if he feels they will become a threat to his position later in life. But in cases where the father happens to be a human, all pups are cared for equally. At birth, Poochyena pups are blind and deaf, but become fully aware of their surroundings days after birth. Until their eyes and ears open, they are completely helpless and must rely on the other pack members for protection. In the wild, the pups are carefully tended to until they become old enough to help the other pack members hunt. The pups are usually weaned in several months.

Absol

Absol do not have heat cycles, but become fertile multiple times a year. They are solitary creatures, but make devoted lovers during mating season. Once a female finds a male while in season, they will mate if the male desires a mate. Mating with an Absol can be extremely dangerous. Due to their notoriously sharp blade-like tails, a female Absol can very easily kill a male of almost any specie that tries to mate with her against her wishes by impaling them upon it. When mating, the male must never violate the female's will. After mating, the two usually part ways, but they may also remain together if they develop a bond. While pregnant, the female will not hunt and will instead sustain herself with fruit, such as wild berries. But if the female remains with her mate, the male will hunt for her and share the quarry with her.

The gestation period of an Absol averages at 90-100 days. When in labor, the mother will seek shelter in a secluded location to reduce the risk of encountering hostile creatures. During birth, the mother feels little pain. Absol very rarely give birth to more than a single child. At birth, the child lacks the long curved horn on the side of its head that all Absol have, but the horn grows in rapidly over the course of a week. Despite being solitary creatures, Absol are devoted parents and will remain with their children for years. The child is usually weaned after one year.

While Absol enjoy the company of their children, attempting to impregnate an Absol without her consent can lead to severe injury. Those who even go so far as to try to rape an Absol will more than likely die from impalement on its sharp tail. If one desires to mate with an Absol, one must earn her unwavering trust before attempting to mate with her.

Latias

While lacking a heat cycle, Latias are terribly difficult to breed even when they are at their most fertile. The outer layer of a Latias' egg is difficult to penetrate. Normally, only a Latios can successfully impregnate a Latias as they have the most powerful sperm out of all recorded Pokémon in the third generation of Pokédex. And since Latias and Latios tend to be solitary creatures, it can be tricky to track one or the other and instances where two were witnessed mating are few and far between. During mating, the Latios takes the dominant role with the Latias lying on her back. Once impregnated, the Latias remains with the Latios as they mate for life. During pregnancy, the Latias will be extremely cautious and will try to remain invisible at all times by refracting light with her feathers. Should the Latias happen to be discovered and attacked; the Latios will fight to the death to protect his mate. In cases where a Latias would claim something other than a Latios as a mate, it would take a significant amount of effort to successfully conceive. In cases where the mate turns out to be a human, it usually takes three successful orgasms to impregnate a Latias in one love-making session. Latias are famous for being very passionate lovers and they try hard to become pregnant when they find a mate.

The gestation period of a Latias averages 3-4 months. During the birthing process, the Latias' mate remains on lookout to protect her. During delivery, the Latias feels mild to moderate pain. Possibly as an evolutionary trait to insure that there would always be a mate for a Latias and Latios in the world, a Latias will ALWAYS give birth to twins; one Latios and one Latias. For unknown reasons, it is always the Latios that is born first. While the newborns are fairly helpless at birth, they are extremely intelligent and master levitation in ten minutes or less. In cases where the father is human, the children have been found to perfect human speech in no more than 24 hours. Their rapid mental development may be a trait to increase their chances of survival in the wild. Latias do not have mammary glands, so they do not produce milk for their young.

The children remain with their parents for a time until they feel ready to set out into the world on their own. The Latios and Latias usually develop a very strong bond as siblings and rarely stray far from each other. Latios and Latias children are very curious and tend to remain on the move at all times unless they need to rest or find food. The two siblings remain with each other until one finds a mate later in life, or until one happens to die from injury or illness. Due to the rarity of Latios and Latias, it is not unheard of for Latios and Latias siblings to fall in love and mate with each other. While incest does not impair their chances of reproduction, inbreeding does carry risks. Symptoms observed in Latios and Latias children born from incest include mental illness, stunted growth, and in rare cases bodily mutations. These problems seldom matter to the parents as they continue to raise their children lovingly until they set out into the world on their own. The problems from being born from incest seldom pass on to the sibling's children if they happen to find a mate, but further incest could lead to massive mutation that could prove fatal to future generations early in life.

Zangoose

Lacking a heat cycle, a female Zangoose will seek out a mate when she feels the time is right to mate. While they tend to mate with their own kind, Zangoose are known to mate with a variety of other Pokémon as well. Zangoose tend to mate in a feral style frequently used by canines, despite the fact that the Pokédex identifies them as the Cat Ferret Pokémon. After mating, the Zangoose and her mate will remain together as they tend to be very passionate in nature. During pregnancy, the male will handle most hunting, but the female will also take part. This carries some risks as getting caught up in battle could prove dangerous to the unborn child. Fortunately, a pregnant Zangoose retains her agility, making her able to evade all but the swiftest attacks.

The gestation of a Zangoose averages at somewhere between 4 and 5 months. As the female Zangoose goes into labor, her mate watches for danger and supports her however he can. While giving birth, a Zangoose experiences moderate pain. Zangoose seldom give birth to more than one child. After birth, the newborn Zangoose becomes aware of the world around it. The mother Zangoose produces milk from her two breasts and feeds her child several times a day. The parents are quite protective of their offspring, which can be a problem as young Zangoose are very adventurous and can often find trouble in the form of the Zangoose's blood enemy, the Seviper. Even then, a newborn Zangoose can protect itself to a degree as its claws harden and sharpen hours after birth.

Suicune

There is very little information on the breeding habits of the Suicune as it is solitary to the extreme. While very beautiful, Suicune do not mingle with other creatures and usually remain on the move as they run over the land at great speed. However, it is speculated that all Suicune are female due to its very feminine form. Suicune is also an extremely rare Pokémon, rumored to number less than ten throughout the entire world. It is even said in a legend from Johto that the original Suicune was revived from an unidentified corpse by the phoenix, Ho-Oh, instead of being born from another creature.

The only recorded breeding of a Suicune was that of a rare "Shiny" Suicune who called herself "Aurora". It would seem that Suicune are in fact very fertile as her mate was a human by the name of Ashton Redford Crimson. They had no problem conceiving a child. Judging by the amount of time required for her child to develop, it seems that the gestation period of a Suicune lasts several days longer than that of the Zangoose. During childbirth, Aurora claimed to feel very little pain at all, believing that her body was made for childbirth. This may also explain why in certain ancient cultures Suicune is viewed as a type of fertility deity. She even reinforced the theory that all Suicune are female by claiming it herself, further supported by the fact that her child was female. Like all canines, she produced milk from multiple teats to breastfeed her daughter. After the death of her mate, Aurora disappeared until 500 years later when she was discovered by Ashton's descendant, Ash Ketchum. Her daughter, Aura, disappeared some time before her father's death and has not had any form of contact with her mother since. But some sources claim that Aura is alive and well while still looking quite young as Suicune are believed to be immortal. She has also been reported to be pursuing a male Lucario named Rone, leading some to believe that it is possible for Suicune to breed with Lucario.

Lugia

Lugia are very reclusive creatures of great power, living their lives near the sea floor and rarely coming to the surface. While there is no data regarding the actual process of mating, there are eyewitness reports of parent Lugia in the company of a small child Lugia. One such case occurred in the Whirl Islands in Johto, where a young Lugia dubbed "Silver" was seen with a large adult Lugia who was quite protective of him, possibly his mother. There is also one case where a Lugia did indeed mate with someone, a human named Ashton Redford Crimson. While the details explaining the process are sketchy, the Lugia, named "Chiara", at one point performed the courtship display of her species. It involves the Lugia turning its back to its mate with its wings spread wide while gazing over its shoulder at its suitor, possibly as a means to entice the suitor to mate. While there is no record of seeing a pregnant Lugia in the wild, Ashton was very protective of Chiara during her pregnancy, even going so far as to threaten to kill a band of armed thugs who showed up at their home.

According to reports, the gestation period of a Lugia averages at 7-8 months, quite long for a Pokémon. The only recorded occurrence of a Lugia's birth was the birth of Chiara's child. It is uncertain of what level of pain is felt by a Lugia during birth as Ashton tried to pull out their child with his own hand, possibly out of fear that Chiara would suffer complications as she was only 1/3 the size of a full-grown Lugia. While Ashton's arm reached into Chiara's womb, she felt a complex mix of pain and pleasure. Possibly due to Ashton's assistance, their child was born without any problems. It seems that the parent Lugia is quite protective of its offspring and watches over it until it leaves its parents to find its place in the world. Due to the lack of mammary glands, a mother Lugia does not produce milk for her child. According to records left behind by Chiara and Ashton, their son, named "Winston", found a home somewhere in the Orange Islands and is also suspected to be the father of the Lugia known as Silver, who was mentioned earlier in the report.

Gardevoir

There is no Pokémon more like humans than the Gardevoir. While Gardevoir of both genders have elegant and feminine bodies, the alternate evolved form, Gallade, is very masculine in appearance and is also male exclusive. Both species of Pokémon are able to mate together. Like humans, Gardevoir have no heat cycle and even mate in very similar fashion to humans. It is also surprisingly common for human Pokémon Trainers of both genders to mate with Gardevoir and Gallade. In the wild, Gardevoir are carefully watched over by their mates after becoming pregnant. Gallade make even more intimidating mates.

The gestation period of a Gardevoir is identical to that of a human. They give birth 9 months after conception. And like humans, Gardevoir typically feel great pain while giving birth. After birth, the newborn Ralts is as vulnerable as a human newborn until they develop their psychic abilities, which can take weeks. Like humans, a mother Gardevoir's breasts produce milk for her child prior to birth. In the wild, a Gardevoir/Gallade family will care heavily for their young.

Being sentient creatures, all Pokémon are capable of living in modern society alongside humans. It has also been discovered that nearly all species of Pokémon are capable of breeding with humans and bearing offspring together. If a Pokémon and human even have a strong enough bond, they may even get married. Despite this, Pokémon/human marriages are somewhat uncommon. In most cases of half human Pokémon births, the offspring looks more Pokémon than human. Even so, there are recordings of certain hybrid children developing traits that pure-blooded Pokémon do not, like Eevee children that are able to walk on just their hind legs and Lucario children that stand much taller than other pure-blooded ones.

Another breakthrough has been found regarding Pokémon eggs. In most cases where a Pokémon's birth has been recorded, it was always born from an egg. But in the wild and in families in modern civilization, most Pokémon were born live. It is suspected that the surroundings of the mother affects whether or not she will lay an egg or give birth. In cases where the mother happens to be in captivity or in service to a Pokémon Trainer or Coordinator, it will usually lay an egg that will hatch in time. But in cases where the Pokémon mother is not being oppressed in any way, such as in the wild or living its life however it wishes in society, the child is born live. Laying eggs seems to be much less painful than giving birth, but it also takes longer for the child to be born. However, certain species of Pokémon always lay eggs regardless of their lifestyle. These include many reptilian and avian Pokémon, and even certain Bug type Pokémon as well. Various aquatic Pokémon also lay eggs, especially those that are fish-like, such as Seaking and Gyarados. This naturally does not apply to all Water type Pokémon, as there are many that are reptilian and mammalian as well.
