Chapter 8

I sat down and stared at my set of barbells before starting to get some of my muscle back after not using them for a while. I got them ready and started to lift and kept at it until my arms started to grow tired. I then sat down and played all the way through all three of the "Streets Of Rage" games to completely refresh my mind on the ways of street fighting. After that, it was starting to get dark outside so I decided to watch the first Rambo movie just for the hell of it before Bob called me with his answer.
"Hey, Gill. I'm in, but I'm gonna need at least another day to get ready for this. I'm gonna try and get some tough bodies together too, okay, dude?"
I smiled, thinking about how I knew all along that he'd come through.
"Yeah. Sure thing, bro. I'll see what I can do in the way of backup too."
He took a deep breath and got ready to go to bed while he was talking to me.
"Okay, good luck, man."
We hung up the phones and got an early night.

The next morning, deciding not to bother Bob, I went into Heaven's Peak and looked around.
"Thank god this place is nice and peaceful again."
I went into the bar, knowing my old buddy, Jack would most likely be in there. I asked Barbon, the bartender if he had seen him but unfortunately, He told me he was nowhere around. I cursed at the fact I couldn't find who would be such a great ally. Jack was a biker who carried a large amount of knifes inside his jacket. I left the bar and started to think if there was anyone else who would help us. I knew that the Lucario I had recently made friends with wouldn't risk her life for her friends but I wasn't sure about that friend of hers, the Aggron. I went back to my house, hoping that someone, preferably the Aggron would show up. A few hours passed when suddenly, there was a knock at the door. I slowly approached it and gulped before opening it. I was relieved to see Jack standing there with his tall, orange Mohawk.
"Hey, Gill. I heard you were looking for me. So what's up?"
I scratched my head, trying to think of how to explain it all.
"You heard about those insane Pokemon that keep raping everyone, right?"
He nodded, looking interested and I continued.
"Well, Bob and I have been their primary target for some time now."
Jack stopped me right there.
"Let me guess. You want to storm their tower domain and you need some tough backup?"
I nodded, slightly surprised at how he guessed it so easily. He then smiled and nodded.
"I'd be glad to come along. This'll be fun."
I breathed a sigh of relief and shook his hand.
"Thanks, Jack. I wonder if Bob's managed to get any backup together. What about you? Do you know anyone who could help us?"
He shook his head before replying.
"Sorry, man. No one I know is in town right now. It's up to you and Bob to get the rest of the team sorted."
I cursed slightly and then nodded. We sat down on the sofa and played a few vs. matches on "Streets Of Rage 2" before playing through the entire game for the eighth time. A few hours later, Bob phoned and informed me that he had arranged for us to meet up with a group of tough guys who he had managed to contact. Needless to say, I was relieved to hear that he had got a decent amount of backup to aid us. He told us to wait just outside Heaven's Peak for him in half an hour. We went there immediately and waited. After a while, Bob showed up with the Aggron who, obviously I had met previously and a Zangoose with blue stripes on his fur instead of red who called himself Zan. Bob looked at me as if to tell me there was bad news.
"Gill, not everyone could make it. Three of us had to drop out for various reasons. Mainly personal issues."
I huffed and grunted in frustration.
"Well, that's just great! So this is everyone there is?"
Everyone looked at me and nodded. Jack thought to himself and made a suggestion.
"I think we should wait a day or two and get more capable fighters before returning."
I shook my head before replying.
"No, I'm not going to risk waiting any longer. We need to put these guys out of the picture as soon as possible."
Jack hesitated and then nodded.
"Alright then. Is everyone ready?"
Everybody nodded and we made a charge towards the tower domain of the insane syndicate. As we approached the main gate, we noticed two Ursaring standing guard.
I called everyone to a halt and turned to them.
"Alright, everyone hang back for a moment. Jack and I will go see if we can deal with these guys, if anything bad happens, charge in and take them by surprise."
Everyone nodded and we got a bit closer. As soon as they spotted us, Jack pulled a knife out of his jacket and threw it at the Ursaring on the left. The knife impaled the Ursaring through the eye and the other one watched in horror as he fell down, screaming. I ran over to the other Ursaring and kicked him in the balls. He fell to his knees and I punched him around the face a few times. He stood up and grabbed me around the neck, growling at me. As soon as he grabbed me, Jack pulled out another knife and shoved it deep in the Ursaring's arm, causing him to let me go. He then punched him hard in the face, knocking him down and then stamped on his head, spreading his brains all over the ground. Everyone came over to us and Jack shouted,
"Break down the fucking door!"
The Aggron, being the largest of the group slammed into the main door, breaking it down. We stormed inside and found ourselves in a lobby. There wasn't much there, just a few tables and chairs and a receptionist's desk. I looked around and said,
"I think night time was the way to go, it looks like everyone's out on jobs."
Zan huffed.
"Damn. I was looking forward to a massacre."
I smiled.
"Well, this will make it easier for us. We just have to find whoever's in charge and get rid of them."
We moved up the stairs just behind the receptionist's desk and reached a long corridor with bright red carpet going all the way down it and huge marble pillars lined up on each side with windows as clear as the air itself made of thin glass. We started to walk down the corridor, trying not to make too much noise. As we took a few steps forward, a familiar creature stepped out from behind one of the pillars.
"Gill! I have you now! You made a grave mistake by coming here!"
It was the Zangoose who I had encountered twice before. She now had two bandages around both sides of her head. I looked back at the team and spoke bravely.
"Guys, hang back. This one's mine."
Jack put one hand on my shoulder.
"Are you sure about this, bro?"
I nodded and then stepped forward. The Zangoose was smiling widely, knowing she had a higher chance of victory than me.
Not giving me much time to act, she swung a claw at me. Unfortunately, I didn't see it coming and staggered backwards as she giggled, licking my blood off of her claw. Jack was finding it difficult to hold himself back but he managed it. I wiped the blood off of my face and looked up to see her standing there, laughing at me. I glared at her.
"Laugh this one off!"
I lunged at her, grabbing her by the neck and held her above the floor, continuously driving her face into one of the marble pillars. I heard Jack shout,
"Holy shit!"
I also heard him laughing and clapping for me. The Zangoose grabbed onto my arm and sunk her fangs into my hand. I dropped her and fell to my knees, holding my hand in pain. The Zangoose jumped onto my shoulders and held her claw to my throat. Before she had time to do anything else, I grabbed her hand and pushed it the wrong way, breaking her wrist. She fell to the floor on her back, screaming.
"You cheap bastard! I'll kill you!"
I grabbed her by the neck once more and carried her over to the very thin window pane.
"I've had enough of your bullshit!"
I let go of her and kicked her as hard as I could and sent her flying through the window, screaming and screeching like the little monster she was. The Aggron ran over to me and hugged me tight before yelling at me.
"You're not pulling anymore stunts like that! Not while I'm here! She could have killed you!"
Jack placed one hand on her gigantic arm, trying to calm her down.
"Hey, I wouldn't have let that happen. Besides, it worked out for the best. I know she hurt him but my man Gill is tough as nails."
She looked down at him and sighed.
"Gill. Please, be more careful."
I nodded before responding.
"Okay, I will. Don't worry, we'll make it through. I know we will."
She let go of me and as soon as she did, a Nidoqueen burst out of the door on the far end of the corridor and charged towards us with her large horn pointing outwards. The Aggron roared loudly and charged at her. The two huge beasts clashed together but being so much lighter than the Aggron, the Nidoqueen was knocked to the floor. She got back on her feet and punched the Aggron in the stomach, almost winding her. At that instant, I charged at her and punched her in the jaw. She smiled down at me as I barely even hurt her and she went to grab me around the neck when the Aggron stood back up and grabbed her by the arm, throwing her to the ground. As the Nidoqueen tried to stand once more, Zan leaped on her face and tore it to shreds with his claws. She grabbed him with one claw and threw him off. But as she did, Jack pulled out two knifes and shoved one in each of her eyes, causing her to scream very loudly as Bob and I kicked the living daylights out of her. When she was dead, we walked towards the door from which she came out of with rage burning inside us. We approached the door and as I placed my hand on the handle, everything seemed to move slower. The few seconds it took me to turn the handle felt like a good five minutes as I gulped loudly. As I was about to throw the door open, I heard Jack's voice behind me.
"Gill, are you okay, bro?"
I nodded and then pushed the door open, walking into the room which contained our final battle. I looked into the room but could see nothing but blackness. I turned to everyone else and said,
"I have a weird feeling about this. Zan, Bob, Jack and I will go through but I need you and our lovely Aggron to stay out here encase anyone else comes. That way, you can hold them off out here if that should happen."
Zan hesitated but then nodded and the Aggron frowned.
"Fine but I don't like this at all. Just be careful."
Bob, Jack and I all took a deep breath and entered the room. As we closed the door behind us, there was a blinding flash. We covered our eyes and as we opened them once more, the room was well lit by a large chandelier. There wasn't much in there, just a large marble pillar near each corner of the room and thin glass windows, just like the ones from before. And by the wall, directly in front of us was a large golden chair with a statue either side of it that looked like armoured warriors and Sitting in the chair was a man in an orange business suit, he looked quite evil and very scary. Standing by his right hand side was a Lucario and to my surprise, it was the one Bob and I had brawled with a couple of days ago. He smiled evilly at me as I glared at him with rage boiling inside of me. As we stared each other down, the man in the orange suit spoke to us.
"Well, I see you found your way here. No, your activity has not escaped my notice. Not in the slightest."
I looked up at him and yelled,
"Who are you?!"
He laughed evilly before responding.
"My name is Giovanni, the master of this fine, religious community. Soon, the whole world will fall under the power of my syndicate. And the world will be thrown into a chaotic state of violence and rape. Don't you think this is an ideal future for the world?"
Before I could answer, Bob shouted,
"You're insane!"
Giovanni smiled over at me and said,
"You seem to show a lot of potential. Tell me, would you consider becoming my left-hand man?"
I spat on the floor, disgusted at his proposal.
"There's no way in hell I'm joining you!"
He frowned at me and spoke once more.
"You really want to die, don't you? I'll be happy to oblige!"
He snapped his fingers and the Lucaro, his right-hand man stepped forward and grinned at me. I looked at Jack and said,
"I need to handle this one on my own too, Jack. We have some unfinished business."
Jack nodded and said,
"Okay but be careful. Bob and I have got your back if you need us."
As I looked at the Lucario, he charged right at me and threw a punch at me. I moved to the side and grabbed his arm, throwing him over my shoulder and head first into the floor. He jumped to his feet and kicked me in the chest, knocking me back. He then span around on one foot and kicked me in the face incredibly hard. I span around in the air and landed on my back. He walked over to me and smiled down at me as I lay at his feet. I thought he was going to kick me while I was down but it seemed he had a bit more honour than that, which was weird, considering he once stood on my throat. He stepped back and I could hear Giovanni laughing evilly at me. I stood back up and wiped the blood from around my mouth. He jumped in the air and attempted to drop kick me but I just about managed to act fast enough to grab onto his foot and I swung him around and slammed him to the floor. His head was now bleeding quite badly and Giovanni began to look worried. As the Lucario got back on his feet, I threw an uppercut into his jaw. He cried out and flew across the room, landing on his back. He lay there, unconscious and Giovanni now decided to take action. As I was still looking at the Lucario, breathing heavily with my heart pounding in the back of my throat, I heard Jack and Bob both shout,
"Fucking hell!"
They both took cover behind the marble pillars and I looked at Giovanni to see him pointing a machinegun at me! Luckily, I was already quite close to him so he didn't get chance to fire it. I ran at him and grabbed the gun and we began wrestling over it. I threw my knee into his stomach a few times before he swung the gun horizontally, whacking me in the face. I fell flat on my ass but got up quickly. I looked up to see him pointing the gun at me again. I dived behind one of the marble pillars and covered my ears with my hands as he fired the machinegun at me. Bits of marble flew off of the pillar as he blasted at it wildly. He stopped firing at me and started to move around the pillar so that he could see me. I took my hands off of my ears and heard him coming. As he moved around the pillar, Bob and Jack watched as I moved around it at the same pace. As he got to where I had just been hiding. He stared in confusion as he noticed I was gone. I got up and ran around the pillar, approaching him from behind. As he began to turn to face me, I grabbed a large shard of marble off the floor and as he face me, I shoved the shard of marble in the side of his neck. Blood was spraying out like a waterfall and I kicked him as hard as I possibly could and knocked him out of the window. He flew out of the building, still firing the machinegun wildly into the air as he fell. Bob, Jack and I rushed over to the window and stared down at Giovanni who was lying in a pool of blood at the base of the tower. We were all speechless for a moment but then Bob shouted,
"You killed him! We did it! We've only gone and bleeding done it!"
The three of us cheered and high-fived each other. Then, our other two friends who were waiting out side came rushing in after they heard us. Zan and our Aggron friend looked out of the window and smiled, looking at me. Zan shook my hand.
"Gill, I thought I was insane but you're a crazy bastard!"
I laughed in response and the Aggron hugged me.
"Oh, I'm so glad your okay!"
I continued to laugh but then Bob suggested we get out before Giovanni's underlings arrived. We left as quickly as we could and as we made it back to Heaven's Peak, I shook Jack's hand.
"Thanks, man. We couldn't have done this without you, man."
He smiled and said,
"Hey, it's what I do."
Jack and I said goodbye to each other and he began to make his way home, Zan shook, the Aggron's, Bob's and my hand and then left into the forest, and Bob, our Aggron friend and I went back to our small village, secure in the thought that we could rest in peace for a change. When we got back, Bob said,
"Well, I'm going straight to bed. I'm totally knackered. I'll see you two in the morning."
The Aggron then smiled down at me and said in a soft tone of voice,
"How about we go and celebrate?"
I stretched before saying,
"Look at me. I'm covered in blood and I'm knackered as all hell. I've got no energy left."
She smiled somewhat evilly at me.
"Good."
My face dropped and she dragged me into my house, closing the door behind her whilst Bob shouted,
"Gill, you lucky bastard!"
Knowing that I had no energy to get away from her, she threw me on my bed and tore my clothes off. She began kissing me deeply but before long, the whole world could hear me screaming.
