Chapter 16

POKEMON RANCHER
2nd Installment CH. 1

Things were going pretty well with the last deliveries, until he came over to railing and clapped me on the shoulder. "Still haven't gotten over the waves have you boy?" Looking up at him my face was still a little green and I gave him an unhappy smirk.

We had just finished with the third delivery and were currently anchored out at sea. We still had another two deliveries to go, but Gordon didn't want to travel at night. So he decided to go on ahead and anchor out at sea, both to my stomachs horror and Rubies great fear.

He let out a hearty chuckle then clapped me on the shoulder again. "So I take it that, that's a no to dinner then." My eyebrows went up in question, then I looked down at the turning waves. I was certainly not feeling up to putting something back into my stomach but considering that I didn't really have anything in there I should probably put something in there.

"I don't know if I could keep anything down right now." Looking out over the water, I could see Crystal belly up happily sunning herself from the last rays of the sun, on the surface of the water. She had been diving in and out of the water catching her food for the past fifteen to twenty minutes, so she was probably full by the big smile on her face. Looking back over the ship I could see Ruby clutching the railing in the wheel house. Even though we had been out here for the majority of the day, she still hadn't gotten over her fear and left the wheelhouse.

"Don't worry about that. I know a few things that will settle your stomach as well as get rid of that rancid taste." So nodding to him, I wiped my mouth with the back of hand and gave a whistle. Crystal shook her head and after looking around she looked towards us and I waved to her.

"I know that your enjoying yourself out there, but it's time to come in." She gave a musical tune then quickly dove under and started swim back to us. Once she was close enough she shot out of the water and landed on the deck and quickly shook off the water and quickly moved over to wrap around and up my body. To which she started to nuzzle me under my chin and give me a quick lick to my cheek. "So I take it that you enjoyed your time out there?" I asked her. She gave me a happy nod then nuzzled my cheek again, but stopped and looked questionably at me.

"What's the matter Crystal?" With that she tapped my stomach with the tip of her tail. "Oh I get it. You want to know if my stomach is still bothering me." To which she gave me a nod. "Now that we've stopped moving my stomach has stopped turning. So I hope that I could hold something down, once we get Ruby out of the wheel house." We both looked up at the wheelhouse and saw that she was still clutching at the rail. "RUBY. It's time to eat. You can come down now."

With that Ruby looked around then nodded then did something I really wasn't expecting. She literally jumped from the wheelhouse strait towards us. I didn't know what to think of this, but didn't have time when she collided with us. Fortunately, at the last minute I raised my arms and caught her in an embrace. I took a few steps backwards to steady myself, otherwise I would have fallen and landed on Crystal's tail that was wrapped around me. "What on earth has gotten into you Ruby?" She just smiled to me then she too gave me a quick nuzzle to the other cheek.

Then for some reason Ruby lifted her head and started to sniff the air. She turned her head back and forth, then stopped when she turned back to face us. Then she proceeded to sniff Crystal, but when she did she shook her head and gave off a quick sneeze. Proceeding that weird action, Ruby started to speak to Crystal at some length. I watched as the two talked and saw a steady rosy glow start to form on Crystal's face.

To add to the strangeness of it all, Ruby quickly moved both her clawed hands up and quickly cupped Crystal's face and started to pull. This caught both Crystal and me, (Especially me) off guard. Though when she began to pull Crystal, Ruby started to shout something at Crystal and started to pull harder when she wouldn't do what Ruby said.

I had no idea as to what the two were arguing about, but after a while Crystal started to wrap tighter around me, as if using me as an anchoring point. Or in other words, trying to prevent Ruby from pulling her off of me. Eventually from Crystal squeezing me, and Rubies pulling, I couldn't breath due to Crystal wrapping around me so tightly. So I had to shout out.

"CRYSTAL! YOUR SQUEEZING ME TO TIGHT!" But when that didn't work. "RUBY! STOP PULLING! YOUR BOTH HURTING ME!"

Her eyes shot wide as she looked down and saw that Crystal was nearly squeezing me to death with her long body. Defiantly showing that she wasn't going to be pulled off of me and submit to Ruby. With that Ruby let go and I fell to the ground and skidded a little back on the deck.

Once I was on my back and laying down on the deck, Crystal slowly started to hiss at Ruby, though all this was lost to me as I began to choke. Ruby quickly shouted to Crystal and when she looked down at me she saw that my lips had already began to turn a nice light shade of purple and my face was turning ashy white. Giving out a squeal she quickly loosened herself from me and I was able to breath again.

My eyes shoot open as I quickly started sucking in that sweet life giving air. You don't know what it feels like to have something as precious as air taken away from you, to the point of near death, then instantly given back to you. (Author: Though I will try. Imagine a weight that is placed on your chest. Now imagine that the weight is starting to get heavier and heavier. The weight of the thing is pushing down on your chest and you fear that if you take a breath, that you wont be able to take another. Now you've taken the risk of a breath and the weight is even worse now and you know that any moment the weight will literally crush your chest. Though you try and push the weight off your chest, you can't seem to find the strength to do so. The pain is so great now that you are now aware that your going to pass from this world, and just as you think that your life is over the weight is lifted.)

Color quickly flooded back into my white features as the air quickly moves throughout my bloodstream, to the oxygen starved parts of my body. As I quickly suck in more and more air a face appears in my field of view. It's Crystal's face and is quickly followed by Ruby as the two begin to croon.

My oxygen starved brain only thinks of one thing as I quickly shoot up and literally throw Crystal off me and run from them. Survival! I stop as I pressed my shaking body against the door leading down into the galley as my bloodshot eyes look back to the two Pokemon. They only have time to croon once as the fear in my eyes grow and my brain continues to run on autopilot and I pull open the door and quickly run down the stairs.

"Keep away from me you monsters!"
