Jump tackles should be avoided

I'd like to thank my friend Jonathan who inspired me to do this story. I hope you guys enjoy it. It's going to start painfully slow (at least because its a pain to write intros).

"Our story begins just like any other sto.."
"Shouri you're starting to sound like a clicheic and bland storyteller."
"Oh sorry, I've just always wanted to start off like that... As I was saying, our story starts off CLICHEICLY (is that even a word?) like many other stories..."

*************************

"Shouri wake up or we're gonna be late for school." My head began to ring. I lazily rolled over and out of the bed. "Yeah yeah I'm coming."

*Geez, not like its that late.* I fumbled around for a second looking for my watch. *Huh... 7:00 AM. That gives me about an hour to take off these PJs, take a shower, eat breakfast, get my stuff, and walk to the school... which is 45 minutes away. I guess I'll skip the shower and breakfast.*

I hastily took off my blue PJs and threw on the nearest clothes I could find. *I hate school.* "Hey Jonathan!" I yelled down the stairs, "Have you seen my shoes?"

"Yeah they're down here, now hurry up!"

*Well it took me long enough to get ready. Figures that we'll be late yet again. Well, not like the teachers really care. Oh well, off to... uh... god I'm out of it. Hmm, who exactly was it that said high school was fun?* I rushed down stairs but stopped in front of the mirror near the door to see how I looked. My clothes looked a bit wrinkly but it was just blue jeans and a black shirt anyways. *Whatever*.

"What... no pink today Jonathan?" "Of course not." I loved to tease him. Jonathan always wore dark colors for some reason, maybe he just didn't like lighter colors... I never really asked. And today was no different, he wore dark blue jeans and a black T-shirt with "The 10 things you learn from video games" in the front. I guess it matched his hair slightly since it was mostly black but oddly enough I saw quite a couple of white hairs... and I say odd because we're both still 16. It went well with his personality too. *While I tend to be sarcastic and witty, he tends to be more on the... well I guess nerdy but in a cool way is the only describe him. You wouldn't really guess that he was into video games from his looks... wait why am I thinking about this?*

"So what's going on today?" I stared over at him. He didn't answer but just continued to glare forward. His dark eyes were fixated on the building a little bit ahead of us. "Jonathan? Hello? Earth to Jonathan..."

Jonathan suddenly broke into a dash. "Hurry up!" he called out.

*When your friend randomly breaks into a dash and tells you to hurry up without giving an explanation... you don't question it... run like hell. Who knows maybe today will be interesting. I half wonder if there's someone trying to gun us down right now and only Jonathan managed to notice him. Ohhh that would be fun for a change... a nice little break from the routine boredom I face everyday. Hmm... if that WERE the case... that'd be okay I guess.* We're both in the middle lines in terms of weight, except I'm skinnier and taller; me being a bit under 6 feet tall, him being only two inches shorter.* At least I can run faster than he can, though he has a head start this time.*

Our previous urban setting disappeared before our eyes as we rushed towards the park. "What happened?" I yelled towards Jonathan. "Eevee!" I almost tripped as he yelled this but managed to keep on running. I caught up to him and grabbed him by his shoulders to stop him. "Okay... you seriously... have to lay off.. the pokeporn." I panted. "Now you're seeing it everywhere."

"Just look!" He turned back to face me, grabbed my head and moved it over. He pointed my head behind him towards the pond in the center of the park.

*I'd like to think that I'm generally a mellow type of guy that can stay calm in most situations. Unfortunately, I'm apparently not.*

"Look at what? Yeah the pond's there what about it.... HOLY FAAAWWWW... THAT'S AN EEVEE!"
"Shouri calm down!"
"YOU TELL ME TO CALM DOWN? THERE'S AN EEVEE DRINKING FROM THE POND! IT'S A FREAKING EEVEE!"

*Now normally I wouldn't freak out this much when something startles me, but hey I've just seen a real life eevee... they're supposed to be from a game. They aren't supposed to exist, but there's one right in front of me. Seriously, how would YOU react if you saw an eevee randomly pop out infront of you.*

My mind was racing and my heart was pounding... probably because of the sudden running and my horrid stamina... I've got speed but no stamina, wonderful eh? *okay okay... stay calm... I guess.* Jonathan finally let go of me and we both started moving towards the eevee. We both stopped a bit short of the eevee and hid behind a conveniently located tree. Granted, it really only covered one of us. Jonathan made the first move towards the eevee. I fully hid behind the tree while Jonathan made his daring approach.

"Vee~" The eevee turned around instantly and rushed towards Jonathan. *It must have awesome instincts to sense Jonathan so fast.... or could it... it was expecting him?* The eevee jump tackled him, but not forcefully. He instinctively attempted to catch it and ended up hugging the eevee. I had already begun to run over and managed to grab on to Jonathan's shoulder when I felt as if all of the energy was being drained out of me. My legs and arms where getting weak and apparently so were his. We both began to collapse to the floor. *Now at this point, just before I lose consciousness I'll say this: If you ever see an eevee drinking water from a pond, you might be going crazy. Heck, personally, I think I might be going nuts. But if you aren't going crazy, then try not to let it jump tackle you.*

*It's so dark here... am I dead? w..Why can't i see... Oh, I guess I should try to open my eyes...*

"He's waking up!" "Oh thank goodness he's awake." "We were afraid you wouldn't wake up."

* I just barely wake up and I'm already being greeted by a plethora of cliches... lovely.* "Will you people be quiet already?" I said half-conscious. "My head hurts enough as it is. What's going on anyways?" * I imagined the eevee~ I imagined the eevee~ I'm at a hospital because I got hit by a car... a bike... a hot dog stand... whatever! But I imagined the eevee!* My attempts at deluding myself turned out to be feeble however, as the first thing I saw when I woke up was the cheerful disposition of the eevee two inches away from my nose. It lay on my chest as I was apparently lying on a bed. *So... I didn't imagine you... and you're lying on top of me... perfect... Oh the joys of irony.*

"Hey shouri." *Finally! A familiar voice, it's about time. And, why hasn't someone gotten this thing off of me.*

"It was about time you woke up, you've been out for 3 days."
"Oh well thank you Doctor Jonathan that's just wonderful!! news."

He punched me in the shoulder while I still lay in the bed. "Well if you can talk in that sarcastic tone, you should be okay." He said this while punching me again, playfully... sort of.

"You wanna tell me what's going on here? Or should I just try and guess?" I once again looked at my surroundings, still heavily out of it. *Let's see... I'm lying in some strange room... there's people i don't know. There's an eevee. There's Jonathan. There's a pokeball. There's a... wait wait... There's an eevee?! Oh that's right... the eevee... and then there's people... and there's cake... no that's a lie... it's just a banana pie... hmmm... I like banana pie... wait no!... no... um.. no?... no to what?...* I struggled to recall the events that had occurred before we both fainted.

"Shouri, I'll fill you in later, lets go get you something to eat. You must be starving after all." I faced Jonathan and nodded. *I guess I could use a slice of pizza or two.*

As I exited the room, heading down some stairs, my eyes met the eevee's eyes briefly which sent chills up my spine. *It's not like I'm scared or anything. Is it? Gah, here I am talking to myself again... whatever. Seriously though, am I just nervous, or am I excited to see a real live pokemon for once... and where the hell is this place anyways?*

I decided to survey my surroundings a bit more. *It seems like I'm in... hmm... isn't this professor Oak's office? YES IT TOTALLY IS. Wait... that makes no sense unless I'm in...*

*Think about the details later, for now.... look calm and natural.* "Uh, I never knew Professor Oak had a back room."

"Neither did I." Jonathan answered. "Then again, where else would he sleep, eat, and watch TV."

*Ooohhh right... the game did only show one giant room, but never a bedroom or a sofa or an upstairs for that matter. Oh right... the anime did... sorta... I wonder if we're in a TV right now... or some alternate dimension where anime is all of a sudden real and now there's this strange plot twist involving the two of us saving the world via the power of friendship... nah~ I'm overthinking things.*

"So... Jonathan, about that explanation..."

"I'll save it for when we get to the house."

"Home? And just how are we gonna do that?"

"My apologies Shouri." came a voice from behind me. I turned to see Professor Oak. *So the main man himself finally shows up. I guess those other people from earlier were his assistants. I wondered what he was like in real life... wait... does this even count as real life?* "I believe Jonathan was talking about Delia's house. She agreed to take you boys in while you get settled to this place."

*Delia Delia Delia... OH! Mrs. Ketchum. Why the hell does he call her Delia... Well I guess because they're on friendly terms but still... made me had to think on that one.*

As I ventured out of the main area of Professor Oak's office where new trainers get their beginner pokemon, I began to look around. * WOOOOOOOOOOOAH~ The video game SO does not do this place justice... this town is huge! Oh god, if Pallet Town's this big, Celadon and Saffron are gonna be a biatch. Ohh I think that's Mrs. Ketchum's place.*

We walked up to see a moderately sized house with a single woman standing out in the front waving towards us. *Cheerful as I thought she'd be.* Jonathan lightly jabbed me in the side and whispered, "Quit staring from there and lets go up to her, dork." He laughed slightly as he said that and tugged on my shirt half pulling me forward.

*Well this should be fun... I hope.*
Chapter End Notes:Feedback = appreciated. Thanks ^^. Also, there IS a point to the opening blurb. More on that later. Should I continue? Or is writing just not my thing? Or should I create another chapter before I get that answered
