Story Notes:
This is a practice story. I usually don't like to write, because I'm too picky. But I suppose that doesn't help me at all at getting better, eh? So here's this. I kind of pulled it out of nowhere. Hopefully it will get better as I go. Also, fail name. Sorry =(Also, I'm not fixing the problem with quotations unless it really henders the reading.I am on a writers block right now... may be a while before next chapter. Please rate and review, I really do appreciate any criticism that anyone may have to offer.Pokemon and all publicly recognized characters, settings, or names are copyright of Nintendo and the Pokemon Company. I am not, in any way, affiliated with either of these companies. The plot and original character names are of my creation. I am not making money off this.
Chapter 2 - The Love
She went off towards some berry bushes, thinking he might have gone to get something to eat. After searching around the berry bushes for a few minutes, she decided he hadn't been there. She then went to her Spearow friends to see if they had seen him.
She walked to the tree where they lived, and called out, "Hey, you two! Come out for a second!"
"Rose?" came a voice.
"Yes, it's me." Two Spearow walked out on the branch. "Have you seen Aden at all? He's that Sandslash. He's injured and shouldn't really be able to walk."
"We haven't seen any Pokémon today besides you."
"Okay... I'll check elsewhere then." She walked off, a bit discouraged. How far could he have gone on that leg? It was pretty badly hurt. She went back to the area where they had slept that night. When she got there, she saw that Aden was lying on his bed. "Aden? Where did you go?"
"Oh... I went out for a walk. I didn't feel like just laying here until you got up. I'm sorry if I scared you." He seemed a bit ashamed.
"Don't worry about that. But you know, you shouldn't be walking with your leg in as bad a shape as it's in."
"I know. I can't help myself." He looked around, and then changed topics. "It's really pretty up here in the mountains in the morning, with the fog hovering through the mountains with the sun hitting it."
Rose sat down next to him. "Yeah. It really is beautiful." She looked over at him, and he looked back at her. She turned her head and blushed a little. "So how about a little breakfast?"
"That would be great." Rose got up and walked back to where the berries were, picking some and bringing them back. "Here you go. These Oran berries will also help you to recover from your injuries."
"Thank you very much." He took one and took a bite out of it. "You really are nice, do you know?"
Rose blushed again. "Wh-what do you mean?"
"First you saved my life yesterday by fending off that Charmeleon, and then you even take me in to help me out."
"I just did what I thought was right. I mean, anyone would have done it, wouldn't they?"
"You would think that, but some Pokémon nowadays are mean and stuck up. I've met plenty of those types in my travels."
"I guess you're right..." She looked away for a second, then back at him. "You're nice too, you know."
Aden blushed this time. "Thank you..."
---
A few weeks went by as Rose nursed Aden and helped him get better. Aden's leg was healed and he could walk fine by himself again within a few days, but he didn't leave. He stayed on the mountain with Rose, who was taking quite the liking to him.
Aden had dug himself a den and was living in it. Rose moved back up on the mountain. Every day they would spend time together, talking and going for walks.
Rose had tried to hide her feelings she was developing for Aden, but was having a hard time. She blushed every time she looked at him, and she stuttered when she talked to him sometimes. One day, she thought that she should finally tell him what she was really feeling.
---
Rose and Aden had been out in the forest, taking a hike together. It was late evening out and the sun was setting. They were talking and stopping to look at scenery as they usually did. Rose had been overflowing with emotions for the last few days, and really wanted to tell Aden what she thought.
They were walking side by side, when they came up on an opening. You could see the other mountains from there.
"Wow. It's beautiful, isn't it, Rose?" Aden said, looking over at her.
"Yeah... It is..." She sounded a bit depressed when she said it.
"Is something wrong, Rose?" He put his paw on her shoulder.
"Aden. There's something I think I need to tell you..." She forced herself to get through the sentence. "Can we sit down?"
"Of course." They both sat down. "Okay. You can tell me whatever you'd like."
Rose took a breath. "Aden. I-I... I think I may like you." She turned her head away from him so he wouldn't see her blush.
"I like you too, Rose." He said.
"I mean... I really like you. I like being with you and talking to you and just being around you."
"Wait... do you mean you-"
"Yes." She cut him off. "I think I may... lo-... you." She couldn't force the word out.
Aden didn't say anything. He looked down at his feet, blushing himself. "I... don't know what to say..."
"This is exactly what I was afraid of... I thought you probably wouldn't like me back..."
"Oh no! It's not that. Not in the least! It's just, I was kind of taken off guard..."
"I'm sorry... These last few days I've just been thinking on it a lot. I hope you aren't freaked out or anything..."
"Actually... I think I may like you back. You know, like that." He looked at his feet again. "You are really nice, and you're very pretty." This made her blush even more. "I think about you a lot. I didn't want to ask though, because I also thought that you wouldn't like me back as much."
They both sat there in silence for a minute or two. Neither of them knew what to say. Rose finally broke the silence with a question, "So, do you want to maybe, you know, try it out? Like, us being together?"
"You know. I think I would really like that."
Rose's eyes teared up a little. She hugged Aden tightly, "Thank you... I'm so glad that we met..." She buried her face in his shoulder.
"I am too. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." He hugged her back and stroked her head. "So... Now what? We're together. What do we do?"
"I don't really know." Rose replied. "I guess maybe we could make a den for the two of us to live in."
"That sounds like a good idea. It's getting late though. I think we should head back to the dens."
"Wait. I have an idea. Follow me." Rose stood up, pulling him on his feet. She knew the area pretty well, and knew a very nice spot she liked to visit sometimes when she was sad. She led him through the trees, until they made it to a small opening. It was a small ledge on the side of the mountain that looked down over a valley. The sunset was at its peak, not giving the valley any light, so it was a black color, but it made the other mountains a purplish, misty color, and the sky was a bright orange.
Rose sat down, and Aden sat beside her. "I like to come here when I'm sad. It makes me feel happier."
"Wow... The sunset here is amazing. You can see over the entire valley. Wow! You can even see some of the mainland way over there!"
"I wanted to show you this place. Being with you, it multiplies my happiness tenfold." She leaned into him, laying her head on his shoulder and watching the sun. "We can stay here for the night, can't we?"
"Of course we can. I'd love to actually." He put his arm around her and pulled her against him. "I can see why it would make you happy. It makes me happy too. I think you're more beautiful than any sunset I've seen though..."
"Aden..." She closed her eyes. Rose was happier than she had ever been in her life. "Aden."
"Hmm?" He looked over at her. Rose leaned in and gave him a surprise kiss on his lips. It was a quick kiss, and she buried her face in his chest after it. He sort of just looked at her, caught off guard, "Rose..." He used his paw, and raised her head up. Her face would have been bright red if it were light out. He looked her in the eyes, then slowly put his mouth to hers, locking in a kiss. They sat there on the ledge, mouths never leaving one another.
Rose finally broke the kiss, "Aden. I-I... I lo... I love... you..." She managed to sputter out the three words. She lied back into his chest and closed her eyes, giving a little sigh of content.
Aden lied back on his back and stroked her head as she slept on his chest. They both soon fell asleep like that.Chapter End Notes:Thanks for reading. Please rate and review! I really do appreciate it and it helps me become a better writer =
