Story Notes:
This is a practice story. I usually don't like to write, because I'm too picky. But I suppose that doesn't help me at all at getting better, eh? So here's this. I kind of pulled it out of nowhere. Hopefully it will get better as I go. Also, fail name. Chapter 3 - The Courting
The morning came with the sun shining down on both Rose and Aden. Rose was the first to wake, her eyes slowly opening, finding herself still in Aden's arms. She closed them again and smiled, remembering what had happened the day before.
She rubbed Aden's chest with a paw, then stood up. He was still asleep. She sat on the edge of the ledge, looking at the valley below them. The trees were fresh with dew, and the mountains shown with their snow caps. She took a breath of cool, mountain air. She was thinking about what she and Aden would do, now that they were together.
Time seemed to stand still now. He and she could spend the rest of their lives together in eternal happiness. Nothing could have made her happier. She decided to go get some berries for Aden and herself to eat for some breakfast. She walked through the forest, looking for some edible berries. She decided on some Bluk berries she found, along with Cherri berries and Rawst berries.
She walked back to the cliff, where she found Aden still sleeping. She set the berries down and crawled on her hands and knees over to him, nosing is cheek, "Aden. Wake up."
Aden grumbled a bit, and then opened his eyes, greeted by a kiss from Rose. He blinked, and then sat up. When he realized what happened, he smiled.
"Good morning, Aden." Rose hugged him and sat down with him. "I brought some berries for us to eat."
"Thank you, Rose." They both sat and ate the berries. When they both finished, they both looked at the valley again in the daylight.
Rose sniffed the air, wrinkling her nose a bit. "I don't know whether it's you or me, but one of us needs a bath!" She giggled.
Aden sniffed too. "Yeah, I'll say you're right."
"I know where there's a small mountain spring not too far from here. Follow me." Rose lead Aden through the forest again, dodging around trees and brush. After a while, the forest thinned until they came to a high cliff. A waterfall was falling from the very top, and pouring into a small spring.
"This is the only spring for quite a ways. I come here to wash occasionally." Rose walked over to the edge of the water and put her feet in, quickly pulling them out, "Burr! It's cold!"
Aden walked over next to her, doing the same and pulling his feet out as well, "It is!" He put his feet back in, forcing them to stay in there. "It's not t-to bad when you f-finally g-get used t-to it."
Rose giggled, "So let's jump in?"
"Together? On three."
They counted together. "One. Two." They paused and looked at each other, holding hands. "Three!"
They both leaped in at the same time, making a large splash. They could hold their heads just above the surface on flat feet. "Oh! Cold!!!" Rose was rubbing her arms, shivering a little.
"Can I help you at all?" Aden jumped slowly over to her, hugging her tight. "Any better?"
"Everything's better when you're here." She blushed, and then kissed him on the cheek.
He did the same, but on the lips, and he held the kiss. They stood there in the cold water and made love to each other. Aden rubbed Roses arms, and then rubbed her sides and hips.
"Aden..." Rose whispered, muring just a bit. He broke the kiss, his mouth moving to her neck. He nibbled and licked it. Rose kept muring, rubbing the top of Aden's head.
"Mmm... Aden..." Aden stopped when he reached her shoulder.
"Time to clean now, eh?" He rubbed his paws against her neck, and then her shoulders, and arms. He then rubbed his paws all over her chest.
After he cleaned her chest, he moved his paws down to her soft belly. He rubbed it all over and couldn't help but squeeze a little. After her belly, he rubbed her sides down.
Aden moved his paws cautiously down Rose's font side, deciding to skip to her legs. He rubbed them clean, but couldn't reach her feet. Guessing he did as much as he could, he hugged her again.
"Your turn now, Aden..." She did the same thing she did, nipping and licking his neck. She then continued with rubbing him down, much as he did her. She rubbed his shoulders, arms, chest, belly and legs.
"So," said Aden, "Think we're clean yet?"
"I think so." He sniffed her playfully. "Yup."
Rose giggles and kissed him on the cheek
They climbed out of the spring and shook themselves. They hugged each other again to keep warm. "Hey, Rose."
"Yes, Love?" She replied in a soft tone.
"I have a question to ask."
"What is it?"
"Well... I'm a bit hesitant to ask, since we just came together yesterday. But I really want to know."
"Go on..."
He gulped, "Rose. Would you be interested in being... my mate?" He worried greatly on the question.
"Your... mate?" She blinked and scratched her chin, "You mean like... kids and stuff?"
"Yeah... that. You don't have too... I know it's a big question..."
"I don't know Aden... I'm not really interested in being a mom at the moment..." She looked at him, making sure she didn't hurt his feeling, "I hope you understand."
"I do. I understand one-hundred percent." He hugged her as reassurance he wasn't sad.
"Thanks... But Aden."
"Yes, Rose?"
"I am interested... I do want to be your mate. I would gladly do it. Just not now."
"Thank you Rose. I really do love you..."
