Beedrill flew sadly through unknown forest.  Her beloved trainer was killed and killer is now looking for her to get rid of her as the only witness of the crime.

‘Murkrow, Aerial Ace!’ Beedrill heard all of a sudden.

Before she can react, she was hit by Flying Type move.

“Great, they found me,” she thought.

She landed on the ground. She wasn’t unconscious, but she wanted this pain – both physical and psychic – to finally end. She was looking forward the ultimate deadly hit. But instead, Murkrow landed next to her, doing nothing. She looked upon him and saw worried look in his face.

‘I didn’t hit you so much, did I?’ Murkrow asked.

‘Murkrow, what’s going on?’ his trainer asked. ‘Is something wrong with that Beedrill?’

Now, Beedrill got the trainer an eyeful. It definitely wasn’t her trainer’s killer. She recognized the man as the trainer they met few days ago. He had battle with her trainer and after the battle, they spent some time together. He flirted with Beedrill’s trainer, but that wasn’t unusual. Her trainer was cute blond young woman who attracted opposite sex. Lani – Beedrill’s trainer’s name – was rarely interested in man though. She concentrated on her Pokémon and her goal: to be the best Bug Type trainer. And this time was no exception. Mel, Murkrow’s trainer, spent one day with Lani, but then their travels separated.  Beedrill remembered Mel can understand Pokémon. She didn’t know how, because Mel never explained it, but she knew Mel understood anything any Pokémon said. For the first time since her trainer’s death, she felt hope.

‘Mel, I think this is Lani’s Beedrill,’ Murkrow said.

‘Oh no! Did something happen to Lani?’ Mel asked.

Beedrill slowly get up and said: ‘Lani was killed. Her killer is still somewhere near. He wants to kill me, since I saw…’

Beedrill started to cry. She wasn’t able to end her sentence. But both Mel and Murkrow understood. Murkrow hugged Beedrill with his wings around her neck and Beedrill hugged him back. But suddenly they saw Salamence flying under them.

‘This Pokémon belongs to the killer,’ Beedrill said in fear.

‘We better get out of here,’ Mel said.

After some time of running they reached Pokémon Center.

‘Hope we’ll be safe here,’ Mel said.

They stormed into the Pokémon Center.

‘Nurse Joy, please call police!’ Mel asked pink haired nurse who stood behind the counter.

She looked at them in confusion but did as Mel told her. Mel, with some help of Beedrill, explained Officer Jenny what happened. With some help of Beedrill, Officer Jenny got portrayal of the murder. She promised to send police patrol to the Pokémon Center for their protection.

But before the patrol comes, strange man entered Pokémon Center.

‘That’s him,’ Beedrill said with fear and got off his sight.

Nurse Joy had hard time to do as nothing happened, but she tried her best.

‘How can I help you sir?’ she asked him politely.

‘Didn’t you, by accident, found Beedrill?’ the man asked. ‘I lost my beloved Pokémon. He must feel lonely. I want him back.’

“If he wants to kill me, he should at least know I am female,” Beedrill thought bitterly.

‘Sorry sir, no Beedrill today,’ Nurse Joy said. ‘But sir, let me say looking for Beedrill in this forest is like looking for a needle in a bottle of hay.’

‘Yes, I am aware of this,’ the man said. ‘But this Beedrill was special. He has black strip on his head, right in between his eyes.’

‘Oh, yeah, I saw this Beedrill,’ Mel said all of a sudden and both Nurse Joy and Beedrill froze in shock. ‘My Murkrow knocked it out somewhere in the forest. No offense but it was one of the weakest Beedrill I ever battled with,’ Mel chuckled.

The man looked at Mel and asked him: ‘Can you tell me where exactly this happened?’

‘I am not sure, but I think it should be 2, 2.5 km southwest. There were many Chesto Berry trees around.’

‘Thank you, young man, thank you.’

The man went out of Pokémon Center and headed to southwest.

‘Let me say this weak Beedrill beat two of your Pokémon,’ Beedrill said offended to Mel.

‘Sorry Beedrill, but I must say something to get rid of him, before police will come here. Who knows what he will do if he will notice police. He may take us as hostages, or maybe even kill us.’

‘Does that place exist?’ Beedrill asked.

‘Yes,’ Murkrow answered. ‘We collected some Chesto Berries there.’

Nurse Joy called Officer Jenny and informed her about what just happened and where the man may be. Officer Jenny said she will send her men there. At that moment, the police patrol came. They started to patrol in front of Pokémon Center, in case, the killer will return.

In the meantime, Beedrill went to empty room. She wanted to be alone. But Murkrow had no intention leave her alone. He knows how she feels and he knows she needs to talk about it. He went to the room to see Beedrill is crying. He approached her and put his wing on her head caressing her. She looked at him.

‘No offense Murkrow, but I want to be alone,’ Beedrill said.

‘I know, but I also know it’s better to talk about it. Believe me, I know it. Things are even worse if you keep them for yourself.’

‘But Murkrow, I lost anything. How you want to help me?’

‘I can’t. But you can help yourself.’

‘How?’

‘Well, you can share your thoughts with someone else, someone who was in the same situation.’

‘Who you are talking about?’

‘Since I hatched, there were only one person for me, Dana, young trainer who started her journey recently before I hatched. Before her Journey, she had bad life. Both her parents died when she was little and she had no other relatives then her cousin, her father’s brother’s son. Even though he was just turn 18 when Dana’s parents died, he took care of her. It changed his life totally. And her, of course, too. They were very close to each other. The boy quit his Pokémon Trainer career, so he can care about Dana. When Dana started her Pokémon Journey, her cousin gave her Pokémon Egg one of his Pokémon laid. Yes, you already guessed that, I hatched from the Egg. Dana was my mom, dad and trainer all in one. She was everything I had in my life. My life was great with her.

‘But everything must end one day. We were in forest, similar to this one and we reached cable tray. Right when we were in the middle, the tray ropes started to tear. Dana told me to fly for help, but I couldn’t leave her alone. She tried to tell me to go, but I didn’t listen to her. She let her Rapidash to go for help, but when Rapidash returned with some loggers, it was too late. Dana fell down to the canyon. There was no way she could live through such terrible fall. It all was my fault,’ Murkrow had watery eyes. ‘If I listened to her, I could find these loggers just in time to save her.’

Murkrow now cried when he remembered back to that terrible event.

‘Sorry Beedrill, I went here to cheer you up and now…’

‘I understand. But tell me, how you ended to be Mel’s Pokémon?’

‘You still didn’t guess that? Mel was that cousin of Dana. He took care of all of Dana’s Pokémon. I thought he will hate me, but instead he understood me and now I have special place in his Pokémon team. I don’t know how I deserve it.’

‘Well, at least you had Mel, but I have no one.’

‘Lani has no relatives?’

‘She has parents, but they both hates Bug Type Pokémon. They often argued with Lani about her decision being Bug Type trainer. They will rather kill us then take care of us.’

‘Well, life taught me nothing is as bad as it looks to be.’

Suddenly, they heard big rant in the lobby. With some fear, they headed there. They saw young girl tugging Vespiquen behind her.

‘Please help, she’s too heavy,’

‘About 40 kg,’ Mel said, while one policeman was helping the girl with Bee Queen Pokémon.

‘Oh no!’ Beedrill screamed and flew towards Vespiquen. ‘What happened to her?’

Beedrill looked closer to Vespiquen. Vespiquen had brushes all over her body and was obviously unconscious.

‘You know her?’ Mel asked Beedrill.

‘Of course, she’s Lani’s Vespiquen.’

When Nurse Joy went to surgery with Vespiquen, the girl explained what happened.

‘I saw strange man beats this Vespiquen. I know I should have done something, but I was too afraid. When Vespiquen felt unconscious, the man kicked her few times angrily and then he left. When I was sure he’s not going to return, I brought Vespiquen to Pokémon Center. I know I shouldn’t just watch and…’ the girl sobbed. ‘How cans her trainer did something like this?’

‘Because he wasn’t her trainer,’ Mel said. ‘And you did right. That man already killed someone. He killed Vespiquen’s trainer named Lani. She was also this Beedrill’s trainer.’

The girl looked at Mel in total shock.

‘But… how it comes that killer had Vespiquen?’

‘Obviously, he stole all of Lani’s Pokémon with exception of Beedrill, who ran away. But she witnessed Lani’s murder, hence the man…’

‘OK, I already get it,’ the girl stopped Mel.

‘But don’t worry. Police is on track of him. I am sure they are going to arrest him soon.’

Beedrill was lying next to bed where Vespiquen was. Fortunately, Vespiquen will be all right. At least physically. But when she learnt Lani is dead, she started to cry and didn’t stop until she fell asleep. Beedrill was afraid of her. Suddenly, the door opened and Mel and Murkrow were there. They gestured her to go out.

‘Good news, police arrested that killer,’ Murkrow said.

There was smile on Beedrill’s face.

‘Police is bringing Lani’s Pokémon here to check out if they are OK,’ Mel added. ‘Also, Lani’s mom is on her way here. She will take care of you.’

‘They will definitely not!’

‘What do you think?’ Mel asked Beedrill In confusion.

‘They hate Bug Type Pokémon. They will either keep us in Pokéball permanently or will release us. And none of this is good for me. I hate it inside Pokéball and that’s why I am outside for most time and being released is bad for me, because I will not survive in wild.’

‘You know what? Just wait for Lani’s mom to come and we will find some solution,’ Mel smiled.

Beedrill was still worrying about Vespiquen And Murkrow knew.

‘I remember when we found her as poor little Combee. She later told me she was abandoned her cluster and was told to never dare to return into hive.’

‘Why?’Murkrow asked.

‘I don’t know. She never wants to tell me. I can only guess she angered her queen somehow. Lani told me there’s strict hierarchy in hive. Each hive has one Vespiquen who serves as queen, bunch of male Combee who serves as guardians and workers and few female Combee who are considered next queen and usually are overprotected by Vesoiquen. From what Lani told me, female Combee must spend all of their life in hive near to Vespiquen until they will evolve. After that, the two Vespiquen will battle together and the one who will lose is forced to leave the hive. Usually, some male Combee will join her and somewhere they will build new hive.’

‘You must wonder what she told her queen to be thrown away her hive,’ Murkrow thought.

‘Well, whatever it was, it wasn’t easy for her. But she gets over it and even evolved, which made Lani very happy. You know, Vespiquen is rare Pokémon and any Bug Type trainer dream about it. Not to mention she found yourself love in Lani’s male Combee. But now, this happened and Vespiquen is in this mess once again. I only hope Combee is okay, because if not…’

‘Let’s see, maybe police already brought Lani’s other Pokémon.

And Murkrow was right. Nurse Joy already checked Lani’s Pokémon.

‘Fortunately, all of them are all right,’ nurse Joy told Beedrill.

But Beedrill must say her friends about Lani. When Nurse Joy released Lani’s Combee, Surskit and Ledian, Bedrill told them what happened. Combee immediately flew to Vespiquen’s room. Others just stood there. None of them knows what to do. They were so sad.

‘What will be with us now?’ Ledian, who was always the most rational of Lani’s Pokémon, asked.

‘Lani’s parents wants to take care of us. But you know them… I am afraid of them.’

Ledian and Surskit must agree with her. They had many bad experiences with Lani’s parents.

‘Well, there’s nothing we can do now,’ Ledian said. ‘Let’s see Vespiquen. It may help her if she’ll see we are OK.’

So they all went to Vespiquen’s room.

It was long wait until Lani’s mom arrived into Pokémon Center. Mel already told Lani’s Pokémon he is willing to take care of them. The only problem is Lani’s mom. But Lani was almost sure she will take this chance to get rid of Lani’s Bug Type Pokémon. Mel led Lani’s mom to empty room for private conversation. Bedrill and others just waited. And Murkrow, for some reason, was in tension too.

‘What’s wrong with you? You have nothing to be afraid of,’ Ledyba asked Dark Type bird.

Murkrow just looked at Beedrill and Ledyba got her hint.

‘Why you don’t tell her?’ Ledyba whispered Murkrow.

‘Right now, when she’s in this condition? No, that’s not wise idea.’

‘Especially now. She need to know someone cares about her.’

‘From personal experience, I don’t think so.’

Ledyba still thought Murkrow’s wrong, but right now, she didn’t feel the urge to argue with that stubborn bird.

Lani’s mom finally agreed to give Lani’s Pokémon under Mel’s care. They all were happy. Even Vespiquen, who was starting to feel better now. Most thanks, of course, goes to Combee, who cared about his love and showed her another reason to live. They spent some time with Vespiquen. It was nice to see this event changed nothing in Vespiquen’s and Combee’s relationship. But Beedrill, for some reason, wasn’t that happy. She can’t concentrate and looked on Murkrow all the time. Ledyba noticed.

‘Just tell him.’

‘Dunno what you are talking about,’ Beedrill blushed.

‘Oh, really? Then why you are staring at him?’ Ledyba asked.

‘I am not!’

‘OK, stop this play,’ Ledyba said. ‘You love Murkrow and Murkrow loves you. So what’s the problem here?’

Beedrill and Murkrow looked at each other, none of them dared to say something.

‘Love, the greatest invention of Mother Nature next after life itself,’ Vespiquen said all of a sudden. ‘It helped me in worst periods of my life,’ Vespiquen winked on Combee and Combee smiled. ‘You are lucky to find love right now.’

Beedrill smiled and hugged Murkrow. Murkrow hugged her back and smiled. Then, they both kissed each other. At that moment, Mel entered the room. When he saw these two lovebirds he smiled.

Beedrill never forgot Lani, but she had happy life with Murkrow. Even though they never had kids, because they are not in the same egg group, they never mind. Their love was anything they cared. Well, that and Mel’s loving care.
