Journey to Another World 4
Ch. 16
What's it like to wake up from a deep nights sleep? Do you slowly regain your hearing first from the noisy bird that is chirping outside your window? Do your eyes suddenly snap open at the offensive light that has somehow shooting between your blinds? Or do you just begin to feel the sheets that that hug your body in their warm embrace?
For me it was the sting from the several dozen wounds that littered my body. With a resounding hiss, I'm quickly pulled out of the warmth of the covers and opened my eyes only to shut them again as the light of the place that I'm in, stings my eyes. "For crying out loud, could somebody get that light out of my face. I'm not blind you know." I say in an urgent tone.
Almost immediately the light that was once in my eyes was doused and I slowly open my eyes again to a darker room. 'Oh great. Where the heck am I now?' I thought as the first thing I see is my first two lovely girls standing over me. They both were holding what looks to be tissues in their hands, their eyes are beet red and puffy, then I saw dark circles under Jenavee's eyes (And if Rena's fur wasn't black around her eyes, she'd probably have the same dark circles under her eyes as well) from what appears to be a full night of crying. I then felt something stir near my feet and saw Kit who was quickly jumping to her feet to face me, while Undine's head raises just above her from the end of the bed.
I didn't even have the chance to think of what was going on, (Author: Though I'm pretty sure that you've probably got a pretty good idea what.) as all four of my girls dog-piled me with wails of happiness. It only took a quick moment for the pain to actually register upstairs from the girls hug, when I suddenly began yelling out in pain.
"Darn it girls. That hurts!" I yelled at them, but they didn't seem to care as they began mumbling incoherently things and rubbing their faces or kissing me on my cheeks. It was a few minutes later that I heard the sound of something being dropped and looked up through the mass of limbs and such, to see a nurse Joy that had just walked through the door and had dropped her clipboard. "HELP." I called out to her. Hoping that my plea was a little louder than the girls incoherent babble.
She instantly rushed over and joined in the fray, but just trying to do the opposite of what my girls were doing. Though the nurse was either pulling on a tail/s, limbs, or something else, it did little good to try and get the girls off of me. I guess the nurse must have yanked on a tail to hard as I felt a set of claws, (probably Kit's) dig into one of the deep gashes on my leg, as I yelled out in pain. This got the girls to instantly freeze, then slowly remove themselves off my cut up body.
"Oh my Mew, Donovin. I am so sorry. I did not mean to hurt you." Which was quickly followed by the other girls apologizes. Then they went back to either make my pillow more fluffy or trying to close up the wounds that had opened when they dog-piled me.
"If you Pokemon are quite done trying to do my job, I'd like to get in the and actually attend to him." Said the nurse, which got all the girls to look up at her with scowls on their faces.
I knew what was going to happen next, the girls would yell at her telling her that they could do just as good of a job taking care of me as her, but I groaned out. "Just let her do her job girls." I said to them as I started to breath a little heavy. The girls looked back at me then to the nurse as she started walking towards me. Just by the look in the girls eyes, I could tell that they would probably jump in the moment that I showed the slightest sign that the nurse wasn't doing her job, but parted out of her way or jumped off the bed.
A little while later the nurse stood back up after she'd redressed my open wounds and sighed with acknowledgement. "That should do it. You know your very lucky that you have such caring Pokemon. Though I have to admit..." She giggled. "They seem a little overly affectionate." She turned to the girls and looked my girls. "Now I know that you care deeply for your trainer, but you need to be careful with him. He's been pretty badly wounded and needs time to mend. So until then, no more..." She looked up to the ceiling, closed her eyes in thought of the proper word. "Overly affectionate hugs, until his wounds have fully closed."
There was a mumble of agreements from the girls, then the nurse nodded and left. As soon as the door closed the girls were smothering me again. "Is there anything we can do to make your recovery any more comfortable Donovin?" To which I couldn't help but smile.
Though I was pretty obsessed with Renaissance Fairs, I was also a pretty big anime fan. Thoughts of an unconscious boy with several girls fawning over him, that would do just about anything to get him to wake up, ran around getting anything he would mumble when he was unconscious, anything. (Author: Saber Marionette J if you need a reference) I was about to send them out to get something as long as it would give me room to breath when I heard the door open again.
"Man, I'm so jealous of you right now. All these attendants at your beckon call." Said a voice. I looked through the gaggle of girls to see that Steven was making his way into the room.
"Steven? What in the world are you doing here? Wait a minute...where is here anyways?" I asked as the girls looked at him.
Jenavee turned and looked down at me. "Steven was the one who told us to bring you here, but as to answer your second question, I really do not know where here is. One thing I do know is that we are not in Veilstone citie's Pokemon center."
"I have the answer to that question." I looked around Jenavee to see that Steven had raised his hand. "Your currently in a hotel, the Grand Lakes Hotel on rout 213 to be exact." He said as he walked into the room. "Right now I'd say that it would be nice to see you, but in your current state." We both snickered at that.
He went on to say on how he'd been easily defeated by Maylene once she knew his fighting style, and wanted to pay me back for spilling the beans on his 'Quick victory' plan. After he was defeated, he quickly ran over to the center, got his Pokemon healed up, then quickly tracked me down to where he found Jenavee, Kit, and Undine standing over me. At first they wouldn't allow him to get close, but when he saw how badly I was hurt, he told about a hospital not far away, and took the lead
"That is when I put you on my by body and slithered you over to this place that he lead us to." Undine said in a superior tone, as if she deserved some special treatment for doing said task. I simply laughed and looked up at the girls.
"I get it Undine. Though I don't think that it's just you that needs to be spoiled for helping me in my time of need." I said as I sat up a little further in the bed. "All you girls need to be spoiled. You've all been fighting exceptionally well over the last few days, and I'm sorry that I haven't acknowledged that fact sooner. So once I get out of this bed, I plan on making that next day a day of spoiling." This got the girls to squeal and then burry me in hugs (which got me yelling again in pain)
I spent the next few days in the hotel, under the doctors orders and made a complete/rushed recovery thanks to the girls insistent care. Though, like the last time I'd gotten out of a sick bed, I now had one more girl who insisted that I take it easy and followed me like I was kind of meat and they, a hungry predator. Whenever I would even cough or stagger the girls would be all over me, making sure that I didn't need to return to hotel for more rest.
I was about to do what I did last time but was stopped when I looked over at Jenavee as she'd grabbed my arm. "Do not think for a second that I have forgotten what you did last time you got out of the hospital. We are going to stick to you like a String Shot this time." Though this time they took it to an even higher level as they also insisted that they wash me that night (especially Undine, Rena, and Jenavee). Though the stranger thing was, Steven decided to tag along with us. When I questioned him about this, he simply stated that he was concerned about me.
"Wait a minute...Are you coming on to me?" I asked, which got him to laugh quite loudly.
"Hardly." He said as he laughed for a little bit more. "The real reason that I'm following you is, I want to have a proper battle with you." He said as he walked up and stood before us. "You once told me that my victory was a gift that you'd given me and that you'd probably wipe the floor with me once your Pokemon were fully healed. Though now that your Pokemon are fully healed, you aren't. So, until both you and your Pokemon are fully healed, I'm going to stick around."
It was almost spontaneous, as when he finished what he said as the girls quickly surrounded him and either growled or made some other menacing tone. "So that is your plan, you selfish human. You are only helped bring our trainer here to get treatment for his wounds so that you could blackmail him into a battle later for helping him." Jenavee said as she placed her hands on her hips stared at him with an evil eye.
This only lasted for a little while until I was able to get in-between the girls and him. "Alright, now lets all calm down. It doesn't matter as to his reason for helping me. The greater point is that he helped bring me here so that I could receive treatment for my injuries. Without that, who knows what would have happened to me." This got the girls to stop giving him the evil eye and settled down. "Now why don't we just head down to the beach. I know that Undine has been very anxious to see and swim in the ocean."
It was almost comical to see her eyes go wide and then start looking all over the place for the shore/beech/ocean. I didn't need to say where as I just pointed south. Undine quickly turned that direction and left us all in a cloud of dust and sand, as she quickly headed for the beech. I didn't need to say anything to the girls either as I could see the excitement in their eyes as well.
But as all the girls quickly headed towards the beach, Jenavee stayed behind to walk beside me. "What's the matter Jenavee? Aren't you going to go rushing off to the beech like everyone else? I thought you'd be excited to see the ocean for the first time as well."
"Oh, I am excited to see the beech for the first time, but..." Jenavee paused for a moment, lost in her train of thought. "I think it would even nicer to go there together." She said as she took my arm and leaned on my shoulder, then leaned up and gave me a quick peck on the cheek. 'Though, I think it is even nicer seeing it with someone that you truly care about.' She said the last bit through her psychic powers.
